ข้อดี: Excellent service--definitely well attended and pampered. Beds are comfortable and maid service spot on. The location of the hotel makes it peaceful, good views, and quiet. But it requires driving around to the beach, any activities, and food is extremely limited in options/budget choices for miles.

ข้อเสีย: There are two parts of the resort, a distance apart on a hill. While they are great about providing shuttles, it does really make a difference. The Summit: where the kids club room is located, so it was important for us to be here. But the pool is smaller, and the spa/restaurant are a distance away. The Meadows: feels a bit swankier, the main lobby of the hotel where to get beach equipment and movies. So staying here might be more central/convenient. NIcer pool and longer food service for pool.

ข้อเสีย: Thin walls. I could hear casual conversation from other rooms. The service was poor. The front desk was often left unattended, and the maid service was minimal - I stayed for several days and they never vacuumed. This is the first Marriott property that didn't provide complimentary lotion.

ข้อดี: Was down here for a visit to Legoland and booked the hotel for the lower cost and 3.5 star rating. To our surprise, the hotel was very new construction and a nice modern look to it and the rooms had great features. Will come back for the next trip to Legoland.

ข้อดี: close to legoland. close to trader joes. early checkin and friendly staff. easy parking. nice clean pool. clean rooms. walls thin? somewhat but whatever it's a hotel and we weren't bothered at all.

ข้อเสีย: rooms were a bit stuffy. mickey mouse hours for food/bar on weekends. i guess holiday express means catered for business travelers weekdays? no room service. all this was minor for a good overall hotel. oh and one major con but not a dealbreaker. no ice machine on the first floor!

ข้อดี: My sister recommended this hotel and we were pleased. Room was great; the bathroom is probably one of the bigger one I've seen (you can get out from the shower without almost touching the toilet). Having a functional kitchen is a plus. Continental breakfast is offered which is nice, so I don't have to make an extra stop to feed the kids in the morning. Staff we dealt with are nice and courteous. Our destination is LEGOLAND which is very close by. It is also close by stores like Costco and Target.

ข้อเสีย: Breakfast hour is from 7 - 9, which works for business travel but for family vacation, the hours are too early and I feel rushed to get out of bed and downstairs to grab a bite. This may just be me, but there is no dimmer light in the bedroom side - there are only two very bright one on the nightstand, and you cannot turn on the bathroom light (where the counter is) without the light shining to the beds and disturb whoever is sleeping there. Walls are definitely thin, the room above us was probably doing DDR the whole time we were there and the room next to our bedroom was listening to music all night long. =\

ข้อเสีย: Since there isn’t a full service restaurant, there aren’t any restaurants close by (if you are new to the area). It’s really just located around other hotels. There are no facilities for charging an electric vehicle. There is an outdoor outlet, but it’s located right next to a handicapped parking space. That’s a deal-breaker for us, so we won’t stay there again. There are hotels nearby that do have those stations so they really need to upgrade.

ข้อเสีย: Automatic lights that can't be turned off. Woke me and my kids up repeatedly. Called down to the front desk and they said they could send an engineer up, but my kids were already asleep in the living room. Other than this, great hotel.

ข้อดี: Great customer service from beginning to end. We booked several rooms along with a conference room and the staff were all helpful to us. Complimentary breakfast was good and had variety. Bed was comfortable and amenities were plenty. Several fast food places right next door. Would definitely stay again.

ข้อดี: Staff that checks us in and out were just dolls. Really sweet. Very receptive to my children. Rooms were extremely clean. Breakfast was great. Always replenished. Omelets cereal waffles fresh fruit potatoes toast muffins not from the supermarket. Cookies juices milk coffee hot chocolate chicjen sausage bagels lots of different spreads for the breads and waffles. Oatmeal cottage cheese. And it was a Monday! Weekdays at most hotels serve basic pastry utems cereal and toast. They save the restaurant style for weekends only. It was quiet on my 2nd floor. The small room they have filled with grocery items was convenient. They offer free newspapers a treasure box for kids to Rumsfeld through. A treat for the children. The eating area is very nice. Not a bunch of wooden tables. Nice cushioned seats. Exercise room was clean and well lit. Parking was easy to access.

ข้อเสีย: Pool seems small pool area as well. 4pm check in. I usually go to hotels that are 1-3pm check in. Check out is noon. So, that's not giving me s full 24hr stay. A 20hr stay.

ข้อดี: Clean room, we'll lit, quite location. The housekeepers/laundry staff were working hard, definitely making the place clean.

ข้อเสีย: Parking is horrible for anything larger than a compact car. Not the easiest place to park a full size chevy suv. The beds....well at least they were clean. Comfort was non existing. I've had better sleep after a pot of coffee, but what was even worse than the bed was the response I received from the staff at the front desk when I brought it up. It was almost as if a requirement to work the front desk was to have a "I'm better than you" attitude. Very dry and callous demeanor.

ข้อดี: The decor of the rooms is contemporary and useful, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The free buffet breakfast was consistently good and plentiful.

ข้อเสีย: One the surface the rooms seemed clean. But some of the kitchen dishes and utensils were dirty, Under the tables and inside drawers where I put my clothes were dusty. The room needed a deep cleaning, perhaps the housekeeper had a bad day that day.

ข้อดี: There was so much space in my room! It was designed like a suite, with a living room, kitchenette and bedroom/bath. The included "continental" breakfast was more than we could have imagined. It was a full buffet with staff who kept replenishing the items!

ข้อดี: Comfortable beds, large rooms, good breakfast (room service), Starbucks coffee pods in the room, very friendly and accommodating staff.

ข้อดี: Very kid-friendly and the proximity to Legoland was nice. The staff were generally pretty helpful. The gym had a good selection of equipment.

ข้อเสีย: For the price, the room that we had was sub-par. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling and the shower was pretty run-down. Although some of the gym equipment had televisions built in, there was limited volume despite the supplying of headphones. Couldn't really hear anything while running on the treadmill.

ข้อเสีย: We had to have had the worst room in the entire room. Paper thin walls, super noisy, fresh paint smell, right next to the entrance of the hotel so no privacy from the outside patio. Super disappointed with our room.

ข้อดี: I loved the location. Walking distance from legoland, short drive to a variety of restaurants, and the Carlsbad outlet mall. Great family pool with splash pad and a onsite park. Rooms had a microwave and mini-fridge.

ข้อเสีย: The room wasn't cleaned until the last day of our stay. There was construction going on. And, our room was dirty from the previous tenants. Not sure if the lack of attention was because we used Kayak, or if the Hotel is just that bad. I was surprised.

ข้อดี: This is a BEAUTIFUL RESORT, the location is EXCELLENT and the view is AMAZING but...

ข้อเสีย: We were walking around in the room barefoot and after 15 min we noticed the bottom of our feet were BLACK. The carpet in our room was disgustingly dirty!!! Then there was not hot water for our entire stay. I understand hot water was a mechanical issue but dirty carpet in the rooms in a lack of cleanliness.

ข้อดี: Loved the setting and the grounds. The room size was huge with a separate bath tub from the shower stall which was really nice. Love the out door patio and the staff was very friendly.

ข้อเสีย: The room smelled very musty and was freezing, probably to hide the smell. I never could get the room warm enough for my wife and I but fortunately, it was a VERY WARM weekend and we left the french doors open the whole time to get that desired warmth into the room. We were an older room of theirs so I'm not sure if this is the reason for the musty smell but it was pretty strong for our stay there. Had I been there more than one night, I definitely would have requested another room.

ข้อเสีย: Rooms small, modestly furnished. Despite the balconies shown in pictures of this hotel, I was not able to get a balcony room. Fitness center is modest, only one weight bench. TV in fitness center was broken. No continental breakfast included! Instead you must buy breakfast at the hotel's very lousy restaurant. It took almost 30 minutes for the cook to prepare my simple eggs, the price was way too high for the area, and the food quality was low. Verdict: expensive AND shitty.

ข้อดี: The rooms were large and very well kept, more than enough space for a family of 4. Ample parking and amenities like the free wifi, pool, jacuzzi and fitness center were nice to have. The staff were extremely friendly and courteous, and they were very helpful even in the face of my one negative experience with the property.

ข้อเสีย: The one huge flaw was "The Bistro" restaurant breakfast service in the lobby. Our package included breakfast at a very reasonable price, but apparently most of the people in the hotel concurred, because when I went down for breakfast, there was a line of 20+ people waiting to order, and many many more waiting for their orders. All told, there were probably over 100 people either eating, waiting to eat or waiting to order. Apparently they were short staffed because of a couple people called in sick, and according to the staffer I talked to, the kitchen isn't equipped to handle so many orders. It took almost half an hour just to place my order for my family's breakfast. The staffers there were hustling about, very apologetic about the huge delays, but many people were extremely frustrated. It took over 1.5 hours to get our order, *not* including the .5 hour ordering. This is a huge failing of either the training or infrastructure. If the staff either can't handle the order, or aren't trained to handle it, Marriott needs to improve the infrastructure, improve their training, better staff the restaurant or change the menu so that the staff can manage what is being offered.

ข้อเสีย: When we first checked in after a Long flight at 11pm, we were given a room which was already occupied. After going down to the front desk, found out there was someone with a similar name and we all for the same room. There were two of us traveling for work who has just met on the car drive from the airport to the hotel, and the only option they had was a king bed. The next night, we hauled our belongings to a separate room with two queen beds. The morning after, the a/c went out right after we showered making the room extremely hot and muggy. After our two back to back experiences, we were never called by a manager or anyone in charge. We had to call them bc apparently they are only in 9-5. The manager apologized and said they would comp one of the nights for us. Fast forward to 315am, 4 days later, we go to check out and we were still charged for four nights! After about 30 minutes, putting us in panick mode bc we had flights to catch, we were hesitantly given the night. All this and not to mention, it is EXTREMELY outdated. I personally will not be returning.
