From check in to check out, our stay at the Hyatt Regency was a superb experience. The staff was genuinely hospitable, and the entire facility was luxurious. The premium view is worth the extra $$$, as we had a breathtaking view of the river and lakefront. Definitely recommend. It was pricey, but definitely worth it. I really can't say anything else that was undesirable, as our stay was basically perfect.
My friend and I got there on a Thursday night. We asked the manager if we could get an upgrade since I was a gold member and the hotel was more than half empty. She denied us that courtesy. I would understand if the hotel was full but it was totally empty probably due to the bad weather so I will not stay here again
The service was great even if the hotel was sold out!!
Centrally located and accessible to tourist attractions. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Value priced.
Nice hotel I will make sure my next stay in the city will have free parking. $75+ to park after paying a couple hundred bucks for a room is terrible.
Nice room; cool hotel No pool
almost everything $65 for parking at their hotel. too much for guest
Easy walk to many restaurant, sites and public transportation.
I enjoyed my stay. No recommendations for improvement T this time
Massive hotel. too big. very unpersonal. conference hotel and for group travel.
Very clean comfortable room with a great view. Close to many areas we wanted to visit. Would definitely choose this hotel again.
We were thrilled with the river view room, its spaciousness, and the hotel's proximity to major attractions and shopping.
I had booked a 'Deluxe' room with city view and got a good deal via booking.com. Based on the (very) positive reviews here I was at first a bit disappointed. There was nothing wrong with the room, in fact it is rather spacious, but in the end it was rather basic and maybe not as good as I had expected. I then asked for an upgrade and for a small additional fee changed my reservation to a 'Superior' room with river view - and this room was really very nice. It is much more modern than the 'Deluxe' room, the bathroom is amazing and overall its just more luxurious and definately worth the extra fee. My recommendation: they have 'superior' rooms that have bathtub and shower combined and some that have them apart. The rooms that have them apart are apparently nicer but there are also not so many of those. Furthermore, the gym is very good and modern, apparently it has been renovated recently. Some of the staff at the front desk is more helpful than others. At first they told me a room upgrade is generally not possible, then I asked someone else a bit later and all over sudden it was possible. Also, some of the staff at the main entrance does not seem very attentive. The attached bar/restaurant is okay, not amazing, but okay.
Great location A little jaded
Great location by the river with great views. Its very close to the centre of Chicago. Our room was large and clean, though the coffee machine took some working out. Think for the price breakfast should be included
The holet was in a great location, close to everything. the river view was very nice worht the extra $. I would definetely stay again! It was lacking a holtel bar and restraunt and other amenities.
large room with very comfortable bed. The bath and particularly shower with large overhead nozzle were clean and neat design. Good location.
location nothing much
clean, friendly and good location
I had stayed at this hotel before and enjoyed my stay. It is in the center of town close to where I need to be and is moderatly priced for the area.
The hallways had a foul odor.
The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. They were always willing to give suggestions and help us have a great experience in Chicago. I also liked the view! It was fantastic! If you have a choice, go for a corner room- the 14'S. Nope! It was great!
Spacious room Had to wait for my room Heating went into cooling so too sensitive and could not control to heat only. Bath tub did not drain well.
Very friendly and professional staff, good places to eat attached directly to the building. Nice and clean work out facility.
The hotel is located in a wonderful part of Chicago - it's situated right between Michigan for shopping and to the south is the park and museums, to the east is Navy Pier. You can't have a better location - and not to mention, being right on the water (river - not Lake Michigan although that is only minutes away)! Nothing - it's a great hotel - stayed there many a times when I visit.
Great location WAY TOO OVER CROWDED, we didn't get the room we requested and had to change rooms the second night. Overall, not a great value for the money. I would stay elsewhere next time, since there is a ton of hotels in that area.
Location and views from rooms Pool was not always clean. Hair in pool made kids not want to swim.
Courteous staff, views of the water, walk le access to shops and restaurants Internet cost
The location, the personel is always available and happy to help. The breakfast was not included
The rooms on the river side had such wonderful views of the river, boats, buildings. The views were awesome both diring the day and night. Also enjoyed the outside dining and area to have a drink or just relax. Many attractions were within walking distance. Nothing stands out. Love the hotel and location.
Friendly, professional staff. Great accommodations. Perfect location. Especially liked the on-site dining options.
Great bedding, nice staff, open and big lobby. Great food options.
It was a great location and the staff was very friendly. I spent a lot of time looking for a room that would comfortably fit 3 adults. I was traveling with my 19 year old daughter and my 67 year old mother. I specifically booked and paid for a "triple room". When we got to the room there were 2 small double beds. Not at all what I expected for 3 adults or for $400 per night. Be very aware of what you are actually getting for your money. This was not at all comfortable for 3 regular sized adults. I will say everything else was fine but I felt very ripped off for what we paid vs. what we got. I could have booked a regular room anywhere for much less.
The location, bed, and shower were perfect. The room size was great and the view of the river was beautiful. It's in walking distance of the Willis tower and sky gate. Parking is about 55 dollars for 24hrs, and about 14 for 30 minutes. There is no fridge in the room. There was no coffee in the room, as is supplied at lower end hotels. Because there are restaurants in the building, when we asked for recommendations on places to eat the staff would only recommend those places, which are overly expensive. No complimentary breakfast.
I didnt even stay at your hotel.
It was in a pretty great location and all of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were well kept and comfortable, though do need a bit of updating. We did not receive a very warm welcome upon driving up to the hotel. It took us a minute to find a valet and a bellhop.
Nice views from the room and the fitness center. Very clean and quiet despite how busy the lobby was with guests! Low, popcorn ceilings really make the room feel more like a motel than a high-rise! The room was a bit outdated overall. Also the location was not super easy to access on foot - ended up taking more cabs than we would have liked.
great hotel with great service
Beds super comfy; Felt like I was staying at a spa; Staff super friendly and helpful; beautiful view of the river and partial skyline; GPS kept wanting to take me to the closed parking garage underground; Had to ask other hotel valet down there how to get up top to my hotel (not hotel's fault). Valet expensive ($70), but guess it's the norm for Chicago.
It is in a nearly ideal location near Michigan Avenue, shopping, restaurants, etc The audiovisual support for my meeting was abysmal
Love the location near River & Lake Michigan. River walk has so much to offer right outside the doors. Walkable to most major attractions. Just off from the crowds of Michigan Ave. This is our 4th time and always my first choice when visiting Chicago.
I booked a room in Chicago at the Swissotel for two nights and after reading the horror stories about kayak bookings through getaroom, I was a bit apprehensive. Based on my travel plans and circumstances, I was able to risk it and make other lodging plans if necessary, so I risked the inconvenience of whatever troubles getaroom might cause me. Fortunately, I did not run into any troubles at all and had a wonderful stay at a luxurious hotel that is in a great location. I received all the service and privileges of a normal stay at the Swissotel. No complaints.
Location was great for Michigan Avenue shopping as well as Shedd Aquarium, Museums, and Navy Pier. The pool and hot tub were great. The water temperature was perfect for kids. The view was excellent from the top floor, which is where the pool/fitness area is located. Rooms were comfortable and quiet. Elevator system was easy. The overall design of the hotel was a bit unique and differentiated from other Chicago 4 Star + choices. We valet parked the car. When you leave, you go down to the parking garage to exit. The corner to drive out and up the ramp is super tight . I ended up scraping my back door pretty substantially. It was operator error for sure. I would just caution others to be careful as they leave or ask one of the valet guys who do this all the time to drive it through the corner.
We did not expect a room with a view but we got one and it was amazing! The rooms were also very large and we were able to walk everywhere we needed to go. We were right beside the elevators so we heard them often but we got used to it. At first if just sounded like a plane flying overhead until we figured it out but it was no where near a deal breaker for booking again.
We've been going to the Chicago hotel for many yrs. We enjoy the location.
Location and decor The bar
Location. Staff was nice. The rooms need some attention, especially the bathroom.
It was very pleasant get there early and having a room to do an early check in. The staff was excellent. Overall it was a good hotel. The location of it was very impressive, close to every place, Willis Tower, Millennium Park, and Navy Pier. I think it's a little pricey, but given the location I think it's worth it.
Hotel is in a great location and the service was excellent. Room service delivered with no table to eat off of. Had to eat on the bed.
Great location Our room was hot and the fan did not help it cool down. TV didn't work.
Staff was helpful. facilities were clean Floor wasnt finished week. Tiles in bathroom were not fully set.
We were on the 23rd floor right next to the stairwell, and I have no idea where the noise came from, but all day and all night there was a loud knocking/banging noise, followed by a revving noise that would come from a machine, that continued nonstop. We were not near the elevators, so we ruled that out. It was impossible to sleep, even with the tv on and my white noise sleep app. Ridiculous. I don't know if the rooms booked on kayak are the crappy, noisy rooms because of the good price, but I will not be staying at the Hard Rock again.
Location was good Rooms were small, holes in the walls and dinged mirrors. Humid rooms and beds were not the softest.
The bed was ok, internet terribly slow and choppy, and gym very old.
Very friendly staff Paper thin walls can hear everything from the hallway even a soft voice just speaking at normal volume
Very convenient location right on Michigan Ave. You won't run out of places to eat or stores to shop. I'm a music enthusiast and the memorabilia on the walls is a nice touch. Also a guitarist and the ability to have your own guitar brought to your room to play was pretty sweet. A Jamaican style bar club along with a nice steak/bar restaurant are in it (Although a little pricey) Been to many hotels due to my line of work. Although the ambience is nice Its not much more then anything you'd find at a Holiday Inn or Hampton. Seems a bit on the older side. Don't know about the more expensive rooms. But ours did not come with a fridge or microwave ( you can purchase them)
The room was very comfortable. Loved the bed and pillows. Elevators were pretty fast. Staff was very nice and accommodating. The hotel claims to be pet friendly. Which they do allow pets, but they don't have an area for your pets to relieve themselves. The closest park is a couple blocks away. It wasn't very far bit my poor dog did his business on the sidewalk twice because it was too far to walk for him. There also wasn't a specific parking for the hotel. It was a little disappointing there wasn't a notice when booking.
I hosted a meeting while I was there and their banquet staff was exceptional! They were able to make changes last minute. If they didn't know the answer to a question they found out for me. They were always smiling and always on top of every detail without my asking. The side chair & mattress were a little harder than I prefer.
Modern room, loved the shower.. Found the room servicw menu limited, very few items.
The staff were EXCELLENT! I was there for a small event and Dominic took perfect care of us. Loved my stay!
Loved the view of the city from our balcony. Also, the rain shower was great! It was the perfect location to all the tourist attractions of the city. Would definitely stay here again! The cost of parking was a bit overpriced.
The room was great and the amenities were awesome. Great location, only a few minutes from Michigan Ave and Millenium Park. It would be hard to return to Chicago and stay anywhere else!
Cool looking. Hotel corridors unique in a good way. Room comfortable. Balcony nice but should have bad small chairs. Bar uncomfortable and staff had stiff personalities. Facilty confusing.
Beautiful hotel all around. Incredible pool deck, one of the best I've seen, Upscale, and very clean. The noise from fire station nearby meant that we had to keep the balcony door closed and so it was a waste to pay the extra money for a balcony you can't enjoy. Very expensive parking.
Large and full service yet not corporate-looking and bland. Very slow elevator.
Location, interior design, amenities
Its just 18 floors
room was excellent - very comfortable bed restaurant was nothing special - for location of the hotel it was poorly situated and did not take advantage of this location and offer a view of the park or of the lake
Booked through kayak the day of to arrive and no record of my booking at hotel. Card was swiped twice, so I had to wait past my stay for the authorization to fall off for the $700 charge. It was a messy situation and one that shouldn't happen while I am taking a break.
Great location, very good restaurant in the hotel. Have to wait along time for elevator, then it broke down along with the coffee machine.
Central downtown location, good restaurant, nice service Needs a good cleaning and update, grungy.
Location Smallest room I've ever seen. Valet parking outrageously expensive.
Room very clean and cozy. Excellent location for downtown. Great value for the money. It was difficult to locate and find initally when we were driving and trying to checkin.
Incredible views of the river and downtown. Walking distance to Navy Pier, Willis Tower and lots of other great restaurants and fun places. Staff was very helpful, have a son in a wheel chair and they went out of their way to help. Great Italian/pizza restaurant in lobby. Historic style building with very clean modern rooms.
The elevator service was terrible. We would often wait over 20 minutes to catch the elevator during the day, and the stairs were not practical when you're staying in the 28th floor.
Location is perfect. Rooms are tiny, with no wasted space and good views. Lobby non-existent, but 2nd floor desk/relax space makes up for that. They have no lot, no arrangement with a local lot, and only one valet on staff as best I could tell. This guy would disappear for up to 20-30 min, or flat out say it will be 20+ min before I can get your car. All that, for $55 per trip. Don't drive, or plan to find a distant garage if you want to pay less than $50-70 per night parking. Atop the valet-delay, they only had one elevator servicing floors 11-30s, and every trip up or down took at least 10 min of waiting (don't leave anything behind!) and every trip in the elevator was packed body to body.
The hotel is centrally located and the staff was accommodative. Just be aware the rooms are tiny
Chicago is a beautiful city. The River Hotel couldn't have been located any better. Our view was ok nothing great because we were in the 2nd floor. The hotel staff was very nice. And the marble stair case was gorgeous. I liked that they had complimentary bottled water. That's help whenever you walking continuously around the city. I had issues about several things that may not matter to some people but it bothered me. I asked twice for a sleeping mask and the first night they're were out said they'll get some in the next day. On the next day I asked again and they already have them out.?.? I feel they should have notated I requested one the first day and then have it ready the next. The bed linens leave something to be desired. They use a flat sheet for the bottom sheet which kept coming undone. The comforter wasn't big enough for the bed. It continuously kept falling off so in the middle of the night I had to get up and cover my wife back up. The room was for the most part clean. However I drop something and when I looked under the bed I saw individual skittles covered in dust :-/. And the restaurant... We tried to eat and drink there but the service was terrible. Took 20 mins to get menus and a water. I guess they're understaffed? But we left before ordering anything due to the service. The overal stay wasn't terrible. I would stay there again but I would never pay full price for it.
Good location My king bed was actually a king box spring with two twin mattresses. Who does that? The seam is right in the middle of your back.
The River Hotel is very conveniently located and has a nice restaurant downstairs that has a nice beverage selection and even deep dish Chicago pizza (along with a diverse selection of salads, pasta, and meat dishes). The A/C was great and the mattress was comfortable. We were able to check in an hour and a half early, which was very nice. The room was tiny - literally the same size as many of the hotel rooms we stayed in in Japan. The toiletries and furnishings were the bare minimum - don't forget to bring the bar of soap to the shower if you want to use it there instead of at the sink! Finally, the elevator situation is terrible. Multiple times, we had to wait well over 10 minutes for an elevator to get to our room. Be sure to budget in extra time if you're on a schedule!
This hotel has a really nice "members only" feel to it like a stodgy old man city club with out the stodginess. it is beautifully decorated and the rooms were not your usual doer and feel. There are so many different venues to choose from that we could have never led the hotel. The drinks and food are a bit pricey, but it fits. The only thing I would change about the room is that we wished there was an in room coffee maker. With all of the other stuff they put in the room to charge you for, a coffee make would have been nice. Also, we had to order ice from guest services as there are no ice machines on the floor.
Service is some of the best in the industry. Placing hotels like W, and other botuques, even larger Four Season and that ilk, into the realm of service as imperious paridy. Returning in April with colleagues and clients from around the world for business meetings, fun, and knowledge that great service and an outstanding stay awaits.
Great location, and beautiful view from the rooftop bar. Renovations in the building are really wonderful, and we enjoyed having coffee in the morning in the lobby area. Unfortunately, the hotel can't decide if it's catering to its guests, or the long line of people waiting to get up to the rooftop. Elevators were extremely slow, and we were told not to take the stairs, even though there was no sign saying staff only. Additionally, the design of the room trumps function. I wish there was a place to hang my towels. And it was dark--I had to move my suitcase underneath the light to find my clothes. And yes, the shower leaked everywhere and was a little cold. But it all looked nice.
Very unique hotel with cool public spaces and furnishings. Friendly, helpful staff. across the street from the cloud sculpture at millennium park. Highly recommend!
Public spaces, vibe, decor, the radio in room. The inability to do a normal load of laundry -- either by myself or by the pound -- they only offered laundry with rates like $5 per pair of underwear was a major hassle/shockingly overpriced. Rooms are pretty small and most face an old factory-type building, but that's no big deal.
Loved the location the staff and the bed Hated not having a tub , shower only . The room view was a metal structure and a concrete wall . The room was very small.
Beds very comfortable. Location was perfect. Lighting in bathroom not good at all. Height of tub could be a problem for kids and short adults.
The parking garage is located right next door and was very easy to access. No need to spend money on valet parking, unless you don't like carrying your luggage. Parking next door was 1/2 the cost. (About $35 per day). Safe area. Great location! No free WiFi in rooms. In order to use free WiFi, you had to go to the lobby. Pricey stay for no internet access in room.
I chose Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park because of its location and good reputation. After my stay at the hotel I am glad that I made a right choice. When I was checking into the hotel there was some confusion about my reservation. I reserved two rooms but the hotel reservation system showed only one room under my name. After I presented my two hotel reservation vouchers and email communication the front desk manager quickly gave me two rooms without unnecessary delay (the room types were exactly what I requested when I made my reservation). The hotel front desk manager and staff were very courteous while they were trying to sort it out. I and my family had a great stay there. It's location and free room wi-fi connection were excellent.
I don't recomend for people who go in a group of people! I went there with 3 more friends. They gave us a room with only 1 bed. CAN YOU SLEEP 4 people in 1 bed? Or do you prefer to sleep in a couch? That's what they said; "sorry, but that's what is available" WHO PAYS A DAMN EXPENSIVE ROOM TO SLEEP IN A COUCH?
The staff was incredibly kind Bathroom wasn't immaculate
We loved the special lounge to relax in. It was like having our own kitchen and living room. Everything was great.
I honestly felt like I stole from them for getting my room that cheap! It's a truly 5 star place it's close to everything you could want to do downtown! The staff is very friendly and amazing! The rooms are very nice and pretty big!
Good value, good location Parking high $70 a day, room service cart left in hallway for almost full day. Wireless cost high $16 per day,
The room was very comfortable and the hotel staff was fabulous. Really enjoyed our stay.
The hotel failed to follow my president profile and didn't provide non scented products nor my workout clothes.
Great views, great rooms, great staff, wonderful stay. Pricey room service
Location - very convenient. One of those hotels that tries to make money on every little extra. Cockroaches on the 26th floor where our room was. Reported it to the front desk - they didn't sound surprised at all.
Good access to Chicago attractions #1 WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. Room price was average to low for area. But restaurant was mediocre and priced straight insulting, $29 for a buffet with no omelette bar, no fresh Oj, nothing fresh. Worst buffet for the money ever. #2. No snacks on floors and $5 for 20 Pringles potato chips. No snack food in area especially late night. Room service slow and speedy. #3. $70 for parking. No validation or discount for hotel customers, across the street its $35 also borderline insulting
Staff was extremely friendly including maids, front desk, and bellhops. I stayed on a high floor which had only 2 other rooms. No problem with elevators. My room had a great view over the Chicago River and was larger than I expected. Taxis were immediately available, but also a great location to walk to many things. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.
Clean nice facilities. Small.
I loved the location. We were able to walk everywhere. I would've liked complimentary breakfast.
The staff was great. TIm at the front desk was very helpful and patient. Very helpful with directions and suggestions for dining. The location couldn't have been better - right on the river front. Could walk the lake shore down to the aquarium and Field Museum. Walking distance to Magnificent Mile shopping . CTA stop is very close. Room was small, but clean Walls not that soundproof. Would have liked a complimentary breakfast, but there is a place right next door and an Einstein's Bagel a few blocks away.
The location allowed us to walk everywhere. We came to attend the Blues festival in Grant Park and the art museum. The staff was very professional and helpful. Silly as it sounds, the fingerprints on the glass entrance doors drove me crazy. I also did not like the glass drinking glasses in the room. As nice as they were, I did not know how they had been cleaned and would have opted for a plastic covered disposable glass.
Couldn't ask for a better location. Comfortable rooms and good security and staff.
This is a great historic building, classic Chicago, in a great location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The "living room" on the second floor offers a convenient space for meeting or relaxing.
I loved the location, it's very close to all of the main dining & shopping in which I came to the city for. The staff was excellent and very kind to me, that goes a long way!! The price for the sized room that I was given was not up to my expectations.
parking was cheaper. the restaurant in the lobby sucked.
Location is second to none Absolutely no amenities or service. No breakfast. No luggage carts. No frills hotel. Don't expect anything but a place to sleep. We aren't unhappy at all. Just not impressed for the money we spent
This hotel is all about location. If you are planning to stay in the downtown Chicago area choose a hotel that is next to river front and Club Quarters is one such hotel. Nothing really. Hotel lacks in complimentary services and some amenities like a refrigerator and a microwave oven in the Standard room type. Probably this is by design.
Good location, just across the Chicago River from Trump Tower. Very convenient to the heart of the city. The staff, including the house maintenance personnel, was very nice and responsive to our request. Bedbugs, my wife was bitten 4 times. Not pretty. No air conditioning due to a dual pipe system which has already been converted from chillers to boiler even though the afternoon temps. were in the eighties. We had to ask for a portable fan. Old building with small, slow elevators. Rooms need to be updated. Toilet leaked and left puddle on the floor. When we picked our bags up from checked bag storage, my fold -over suitcase had been unzipped and remained opened. Would not stay here again.
Modern, relatively new, comfortable room except for shower head. Nice staff but had to wait on my room way past the 4p check-in time. Staff gave me water and premium internet because I had to wait so long for room. I have the Hilton app and credit card. I was allowed to pick my room, so I did on the app. I did not get the room I selected. I arrived early. Was told my room was not ready. By 4 p (check-in time) it was not ready; not ready by 4:45p (yet I saw several checking in at 4p). I had to leave for dinner and opera (couldn't change into the intended clothes because of the room not ready). Shower head doesn't allow for focused stream; took a while to rinse thick hair.
Location, design, service. Soundproofing could be better, for something so new, too many items weren't working.
My son and I had a great stay at London House! It is located perfectly and is within walking distance or a short Uber ride of Navy Pier, Millenium Park, OTC. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and staff was friendly! We tried to eat at the hotel restaurant to avoid going out in a storm. The restaurant is more of a bar setting and the menu is not family friendly. Needless to say we braved the storm, got soaked! Great memory! Lots of good places to eat around the hotel.
The rooftop bar is amazing...during the winter, however, the lounge is enclosed and not much to talk about. Our room had a gorgeous view of the river, the bed was comfortable, linens were great, and the big tv was like being in bed at a movie theatre. The workout facility was very cool, like a trip to the future. Great stay, we would do it again for sure.
The rooms were fantastic, the location was perfect, and the roof top lounge provides the best views of the city.
Staff were horrendously unhelpful on more than one occasion
Everything was perfect. Amazing views of the river. Only open a month.
Room was small and oddly shaped. Could not get wait staff to take our order in the restaurant which was fine since menu didn't look appetizing anyway.
Exceptional customer service training, great rooms, super location
The city is amazing and being able to come back to a great place to rest makes a big difference between a good trip and an awesome trip. The staff was incredibly polite, and the customer service at this place is above and beyond.
Great, attentive staff. Terrific location by the river. Comfortable bed. Lobby Door staff was extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. Expensive for what you get. Room a/c is on energy saving computer load management, so it can take ten minutes to respond. River view 7th floor deluxe king Room had one uncomfortable arm chair, and a tiny sliver of a window that allowed one to see the bridge over the river, but, no water or boats. Exercise room was a joke, just A universal and dumbells. Free morning coffee a plus, but offset with tiny cups and mediocre coffee blend. Free evening wine was nice, but unlike far less expensive embassy suites, no snacks offered.
evening cocktail hour not too big
The hotel's location was ideal and the staff was courteous, friendly, and helpful especially in providing local recommendations. We requested and were told we would be receiving a feather-free room but the room we were checked into had feather pillows and a down comforter.
The location can't be beat, and the room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were incredible helpful and welcoming. The room was advertised as having a special bathtub, a key reason we booked this room. However, the bath wasn't anything special. It was just a typical hotel short tub, not the large tub we were hoping for. I would have paid a premium for a nice tub, but there are no such things at the Monaco, so we were stuck.
Great location near the CTA, riverwalk, theaters, shopping. Dog friendly! We have a Lab/Great Dane mix that we took along on a weekend. There is an off leash dog park 2 blocks away. The parking is expensive if you use the hotel valet. You can save about half if you book a spot at a nearby garage through spothero or another site.
Clean hotel, great location, staff was very accommodating Honestly, nothing comes to mind.
The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. We had a great stay and felt well taken care of. Rooms are well appointed, will definitely stay here again in the future! We had no issues.
Great service and great location.
Easy reservations, numerous email reminders, e-checkin with room preference, quick check in and valet service, nice roomy quiet room. Parking added 30% to the cost of room. The cost of parking in Chicago is a major negative to doing business in the city. The restaurant attached to the hotel ran out of black tea. The waiter indicated it happens frequently. The hotel lobby had no black tea. How can you run out of black tea?
one of the two hotel elevators was not working... we were on the 11th floor.. it took nearly 30 minutes each time to get an elevator..the AC was not working . The room was nice and comfortable.. however the AC and the elevator really created a bit of stress for us... the cost for the weekend visit 2 nights was not acceptable given the conditions.. When I asked the front desk clerk to adjust our bill she went on about how they were working on getting the elevator repair but it was difficult on the weekend.. still no satisfaction on my end. SORELY DISAPPOINTED. Margo DOlan firstname.lastname@example.org
The room was amazing and the location couldn't have been any better. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. The complementary hot chocolate and wine were also amazing. The only problem I had with the stay is that the hotel parking lot charges $58 a night.
Gym kind of sucks.
Staff is wonderful. Room service was inconsistent. Ordered same sandwich twice, received completely different sandwich and sides.
The coffee shop has gone down hill
My boyfriend and I decided to have a fancy night out and found a great deal for Virgin Hotels Chicago. It was for only one night but we wished it could have been a week! Everything was amazing. Check-in and check-out service was fast, easy, and staff were all so friendly and accommodating. Our room was gorgeous, most amazing bed we've ever slept on! Overall, Virgin Hotels had an amazing vibe to it, very hip and fancy. Absolutely recommend!!! That we didn't get to stay longer!
Loved that the room was half vanity and bathroom. When people travel they're always getting ready for something. Make sense you give them ample place to do it.
Location, friendly staff
The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and in impeccable shape. The space provided was great (chamber suit). There were plenty of outlets..thoughtful situated. Very convenient to have the shower in a separate room from the toilet. The controls for the room temperature were within our command. Free cocktails every night from 7-8, amazing! And the location of the hotel was right near a bunch if restaurants, the Chicago institute of art and the Grant Park. That' the windows could not be opened, so the room could not be ventilated and freshen the air.
We had to wait 90 mins to be checked into our room. We also had to ask twice to have our room made up even though we had the service light on.
Everything. I liked everything. The capsules and showers and staff. Awesomeness. That I couldn't stay longer... I loved everything about the room.
Brilliant, well thought out design elements made our chamber a pleasure to stay in. Separated dressing room/washroom allowed myself to get ready in the morning while my fiancé grabbed a few extra minutes of sleep in peace. Additionally the staff was very helpful, informative at check-in, and incredibly friendly. Also the Hosted Social Hour is an absolute must do! There wasn't anything major to complain about here. My fiancé felt the complimentary toiletries could have been more femanine scented (or at least a tad more gender neutral) and our server at the dinner in the lobby was slow and forgot a third of our order (to her credit however, she recovered well when the mistake was pointed out).
happy hour from 7-8, free drinks for hotel guests
It's a great place to stay
Comfortable, great location, clean and spacious - exactly what we needed for a short trip to Chicago.
Location, staff, clean and with the exception of very little water on the 25 th floor, very nice. The hotel lacked water for bathing. We stayed on the 25th floor and were told that was the reason. Interesting
Excellent value for money. Huge room/suite. No shower pressure
The suite was spacious, with separate bedroom and sitting areas, a kitchen, two televisions, a large desk, breakfast bar and lots of windows. The bathroom was recently renovated and extremely clean, as was the rest of the room. It was very quiet. I wished that the wireless internet service was available in room, rather than just in the lobby. The free breakfast was unremarkable. The location was within fairly easy walking distance of many attractions, but there were very few restaurants to choose from in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.
The comfort of the hotel That the hotel don't have a free parking for the guests, that is the worst.
We liked the over-sized room that was clean and close to everything that we wanted to do. The staff was friendly & helpful. The parking issues others note really was not that big of a deal. The hotel is quiet and in our opinion, a fantastic value.
Location could not be better. The suit was really very comfortable with washing maschine, kitchen and 2 TV not
We were on the 23rd floor and the view of the City was increadable. The room was wonderful, very clean, and every detail was taken care of. I would highly recomend the Comfort Suites Michigan Avenue to all my friends. Every day we had to go to the lobby to get our key cards re-magnatised.
Loved this hotel!!! Staff was really friendly and helpfull, the room was a great size and the view just amazing. The location is excellent - close to the attractions, shopping malls and the public transport.
Fantastic staff. Super clean and updated while maintaining the building's historical identity.
It was an easy check in. The front desk staff offered city maps and directions to nearby attractions. The room was comfortable and clean. The bed was a good quality. The shower was nice and big. The complimentary breakfast had a wide variety which was good for people with different diets. The room was a little on the small side but I was comfortable enough in it. The bathroom did not have a vent so the mirrors got fogged up after a shower. Definitely not a deal breaker. The parking was pricey for valet but you can get your car and bring it back if you want to leave to do something.
Nice staff No black out curtains. Heating system in room took a long time to kick in and warm up the room. Carpet smelled like feet. Room was TINY.
