It was close to all the places we wanted to see. Walk to Times Square, subway nearby, etc.. Lots of restaurants all around. We had a corner room so view in 2 directions! Nothing

Great location. Close to Times Square, Central Park, and Rockefeller Center. Large rooms for a New York hotel. Very professionally run and business like facility. High energy level with constant activity in the public areas. It isn't cheap but you can easily pay more for less value in NYC.
clean and mid town so all the attraction you can cover by walk breakfast was not included while we expected bed and breakfast
Great location, good room comfort. When you book the price seems to be great, but then you find that the Internet is not included and also the bagage keeping has a cost.
Nice sized room for NY. Updated and modern. Heat was stuck on high and it was super hot. Luckily the windows work and we could get a cold breeze. Pillows were fluffy and flat at the same time.
Very clean, great location! I have stayed here a few times and always have a nice time there. The cleaning staff is so friendly. The food at the hotel is very expensive. I searched all over for an atm machine and couldn't find one. The lines for the elevator can be a bit long

Clean room with a comfortable bed. The hotel is very centrally located with many attractions close by. Staff was very efficient and friendly. The walls are paper thin and we had very loud neighbors. We could hear everything going on in the room next door. Unfortunately the neighbors were very inconsiderate and we had to call down to security to ask them to be quiet.
Very good, central location on 7th Avenue. Just a few blocks from Times Square, Central Park, immediately adjacent to Broadway...can easily walk (or use subway) to anywhere in Midtown. Hotel staff was courteous and helpful. Had a decent breakfast bar in the lobby with very kind, courteous employees staffing it. Was an enjoyable visit every morning, though it's primarily only got muffins, fruit, and coffee. Room was very minimalist and small. Bed was not particularly comfortable. TV only has a few channels and reception was fuzzy on about half of them. Wi-fi is not free - costs roughly $15 per day, less if you buy several days' worth of usage up front. Noise from the street below was pretty noticeable; it would have been very difficult to tune it out completely had I not been using ear plugs. Basically, it's cheaper than the other (nicer, I would assume) hotels in the area, but the location could make it worthwhile if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in your room...and it's NYC, so why would you? Spend a lot of time out in Manhattan, making use of the great location, and you won't mind the facilities as much.

The location was ideal as it was close to tourist attractions. Lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas and had a very festive luxurious feel. The rooms however were comfortable, standard but clean and gave Bath and Body Works as complimentary toiletries which was a nice touch. Staff were also friendly. Chargable WIFI - We live in a day and age where communication abroad is important to some. Free WIFI should've been included with the room as it wasn't cheap to book here and would be nice if it was complimentary like other hotels in the area. Also we stayed in room 754 where the air con fan wouldn't switch off (in December)!

Perfect location. Great value for money.
Location 1. No communication by hotel staff. They tried to place us in a room that is half the size of a regular room without even telling us when we checked in. We found about this when we actually entered the room. After that we had to reconcile this very uncomfortable and unexpected experience. 2. Hotel management spent 10 minutes explaining how they cannot keep the fully paid room and that upon check in they will place and assign the room of their availability. Why bother and pay in advance if there is no guarantee? 3. We didn't feel hospitality was there at all. It truly came across as just another place interested in making money rather than building long lasting experience 4. Hotel is definitely run down and it stinks super bad. 5. We would not recommend this hotel and definitely would not have given it 3 stars. Stay some place else!
Location Too noisy
The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The location was excellent for our needs. The hotel is tired and worn. It needs an injection of cash to update and refresh the rooms and fixtures. It wasn't the worst place to stay because it was clean and the location was great. The front desk was understaffed at both check-in and check-out. This created long lines and long waits. We had to wait an hour for our room to be ready because they were behind on their turn-overs and we arrived at 8PM. They need to hire more staff for peak times.

Goegeous hotel,luxourious. A bit impersonal, had to get a ticket to get a bellhop to take bags to room - not clear where to get ticket from so didnt do this. Paying this much a bell hop should be at the door when you arrive to take your bas up the large staircase. No computers for internet - needed own laptop to use internet. Location not nearly like I thought - had to walk quite a few blocks to get to central part,times square, etc. Close to Fifth Ave shops which was good.

The staff were very helpful The room was comfortable but not luxurious.
Reception area was beautiful. Rooms are very dated and I had the unfortunate experience of staying beside a suite and the the people staying it in liked to party in it until 5.30am. Kitchen was adjoined to my room and heard every footstep and every word. Reception offer me to move rooms at 5.30am rather than asking the guests to have some respect for others. Never again.

Arranged the visit for the 60th birthday of my sister and were both very pleased to receive a bottle of wine in the room- a very kind gesture ,thankyou! Staff always very courteous and helpful. Would be nice to have tea making facilities in room, otherwise can't think of anything more!
The Waldorf is a fabulous hotel. We loved everything about this hotel. The decor was amazing. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. I cant praise this hotel and the staff enough.

Lovely location, very good service. The room was very nice but the bathroom was quite poor in comparison. Enjoyed Sunday brunch. Had a problem with checking in....had the reservation under the wrong name. Didn't like breakfast in Oscars...the food was poor and the coffee was cold

It is successfully located - in the center of Manhattan, near to city centre and sights Stopped in 5* parts of hotel. All strongly become outdated, noise both from street, and from the lift and hotel, the sanitary technician and other demands serious reconstruction. Full not conformity to the price offer. A level 3* plus.
The views from our tower room were amazing. Staff were helpful and courteous. I would especially like to thank Ces for his personalised service, even though the shuttle did not not pick us up. We were given the wrong information regarding where to board our shuttle service and consequently, missed our transfer to the airport. The shuttle service was rung by reception at the hotel, but the company told us we had been given the wrong information as to where to meet the shuttle and they were not willing to provide us with another service to the airport. We then had the added expense of a taxi fare to JFK, to meet our flight. I did not appreciate this. Also, given the cost of accommodation, I would like to have seen internet access built into the price, not as an additional cost to the customer.
We think this is the best boutique hotel in New York. Impeccable service, historic surroundings, magnificent public rooms. Great room service food. A bit pricey, but so is everything in NYC.
My experience made every other hotel I have stayed at seem 5-Star! I paid over $----- for the night and checked out to sleep at a hotel staffed by sane people. The security guard Patrick banging on my hotel door demanding entry and falsely accusing me of smoking marihuana. I am a 55 year old man and my guest was a medical doctor. No phone call, No 'Sorry to bother you sir...' Just an unhinged rent-a-cop. Wow!

The interior inside the hotel and its room, and the quietness at night. Other guests seemed quiet also, since they seemed to want to sleep well as well. the toilet facility in my room was poor. it did not flush and takes 15 minutes to get quiet for the machine...

The bell men service is horrible.When we arrive in a taxi they picked up our shoppings bags and right after we get off the cab they returned everything to us.

Our room directly overlooked St. Patrick's Cathedral and it was gorgeous. The room was spacious (unusual for NY), clean and comfortable. There's a wonderful café right off the beautiful hotel lobby for specialty coffees and French pastries, and the fitness center is amazing. Plenty of bar/restaurants within walking distance, as are many of the tourist attractions such as Rock Center. I would highly recommend this hotel, and will look into staying there again. There was nothing that I disliked about this hotel, although I would have preferred a lower internet rate (it is $16/day).

Convenient location to everything we were doing and the Molton Brown products are terrific! It's a luxurious hotel and a lovely interlude from the chaos of Manhattan. We asked for some champagne flutes and the ones we received were delivered dirty. We called and asked for replacements and it took well over an hour to receive them - at that point we had washed the flutes ourselves in the bathroom sink.
Location, ambiance, service, view, gym, and food. Mail room services and the Bellman Station appeared to be during us a favor when we asked to have our bags stored after check-out. The rest of the staff in my experience were helpful and pleasant, especially Housekeeping and Room service!!
Nice ambiance. Good elevators to get to room efficiently Poor housekeeping. Bathroom smelled musty. They forgot to leave washcloths one time. Then forgot to leave shampoo another time. When we called for shampoo to shower took 1.5 hours to come. Also asked for blankets when checked in which never came.
Staff was very cordial and gave excellent customer service. Charge for Wi-Fi was unexpected for a $700 a night room.
Location, good neibourhood , good loung and snack shop . Also rooms were good side and clean with proper functioning bathroom. I wish they had a sit down restaurant of their own. Although they are close to restaurants on the street.

In general the staff was nice and accommodating. In particular the concierge named Aisha (spelling?) was extremely kind and helpful. The room was clean, and got the job done. I would stay here again as it was a great value and location. My 'Cosy Queen' was pretty small. If I had another person sharing the room, it would have definitely been too small. But for myself it was fine, but not for the clastrophobic!
The bed was very comfortable. Yes I was just surprised by the sheer number of things wrong. As we walked in we both thought. This is beautiful. As we checked in I was told I booked a king bed and I stated I booked a double. I showed the woman ( name omitted) my reservation and she said that a double room just means two people. Fine fine my mistake, I moved on. When we got to the room the heater was making a noise that sounded like an animal was in it. The shower frame was not attached to the wall, the shower door had no way to pull it closed from the inside, the shelf in the bathroom was slanted downward, as was the top of the toilet tank so nothing staying on it. I am a normal sized woman and I was I a difficult time getting dressed in the bathroom due to size. Check out is st noon as in many hotels, at 9 there was a knock on the door. When I answered it the cleaning staff was there and asked when I was checking out. I told them 12. At 1049 there was a knock again, the same staff member asked when I was leaving. Now you may say did you say anything... I tried. I tried calling twice ( was only there one night) no answer and wentdownstairs countless times, but as I was on a quick fun trip I didn't want to waste time. I was just surprising disappointed my my stay and it was compounded when I checked out and then checked into my next hotel, that for only 30 $ more, I not only had the amenities of a " normal room, I was actually given a premier room with a view, corner ceiling to floor windows, A kitchenette, complimentary unlimited filtered water, complimentary breakfast and a staff that was above and beyond. All of this just a few minutes from the roisevelt.
Nothing Up all night with bad radiator. Phones did not work or they did not pick up. Rooms are old and dated. Elevator takes forever. $52 for a basic continental breakfast. Go to a diner
I liked the location and for the most part the room was clean and the bed was nice. I didn't like how most of the hotel was not updated and the valet service took a while.

I went with my girlfriend and her 17yr old sister. Everything was perfect. The front desk personnel were more then accommodating and the room was beautiful. the hotel itself was great. I couldn't have asked for anything more!!
It's located near major attractions and it's the room assigned to my family and myself is a good size room. That it did not include continental breakfast
Good location, nice lobby, Good complimentary toiletries Bathroom small, outdated, with no space to lay personal stuff. Floor seemed to be dirty. Carpet very dusty on the edges, corners and behind the bed. It looks like the housekeeper doesn't have a canister vacuum to reach those places. Bad smell coming from moldy air conditioner. Front desk didn't respond our calls, we ask for a coffee maker to the bell man but they never brought it. We called the bell man for somebody to bring us the kart but they never came. Overall staff is friendly but not efficient.
Checked in after a long flight from Australia at 11pm. Room was not made up and bathroom was disgusting. Went to receptionist who allocated us another room - same result. Demanded a refund, and went and checked in at the Westin. Very disappointed.
The location was perfect for theatre and shopping and catching the subway. The room was a little small. We had two twin beds and really not much of a view. Concierge (one of 3) was not particularly helpful. Very minimal Christmas decorations in lobby, other hotels much more festive.
Friendly and helpful staff. Good location. Comfortable bed and nice room. Check-in process was a nightmare. It took more than one hour until my reservation was finally found and confirmed.

The room was large for new york and very nice. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding!! It includes juice, coffee and a basket of bread and pastries. The best pancakes are at Sofitel. It is a short walk to the theatre. No complaints, I will definitely go back to Sofitel
The room was overall inviting and the bed and pillows especially comfortable. Having to pay an extra fee for internet access, it should be a part of the cost of the room.

This was our first trip to nyc and chose Sofitel by recommendation as well as location and reputation. It was within walking distance to many attractions as well as excellent places to eat. We felt safe yet away from the main hustle and bustle. The beds were super comfortable and the bathroom was top class. Thankyou!
The location is PERFECT! Its close to everything yet away from noise and traffic! 5th ave is half a bloch away and time square is a bloch and a half. The rooms are very spacious and very clean. the staff is extreamly warm and accomodating. It is the hotel to stay on if your looking for luxury yet the comfort and warth of your home!
The staff is extremely friendly, helpful. They always have a smile – a real, genuine one - on their face. Especially Eric who is concierge of the cassa goes out of his way to make sure you have anything you may need. The beds are extremely comfortable and rooms are nice and quiet – surprising for midtown Manhattan.No need to search anather otel in Times square.
Good Location room too small
staff is very kind it is for sure no 5 star hotel. Spa area is nice but 5 chairs at the pool are by far too less for such hotel. Dinner and breakfast was also not 5 star.

It was a good experience. The location of the hotel is the best. You are in the middle of everything. The staff was nice and friendly The breakfast options are really very limited but it was ok. The wardrobe space need to get bigger. It can hardly fit for one nevertheless two especially in winter.

the location is very good. 1) i have told the hotel that i would be paying for my stay on cash, and was told that i should do so upon check-out; yet the hotel proceeded to debit my credit card before the check-out time; 2) the car park is too blocks away. If one has luggages, the car-park is too far. 3) we arrive at the hotel earlier than 3 pm cos my flight arrived at 11 am. Despite there being vacant rooms, the hotel refused to assign us the room. Upon our return at 3.30 pm, we had to wait 45 minutes for the room allocation.
Location and price
The location is really pretty spectacular, right across the street from the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. the room was comfortable, particularly the bed, and in room facilities - fridge, coffee maker - were convenient. The Hotel appears to be so new that many facilities were not working - washer /dryer, water fountains on each floor. The room had no basic utensils - fork, spoon, bottle opener etc- and this meant constantly calling room service for assistance. Laundry prices were exhorbitant and the w/d were unavailable.
Convenient location and reasonable pricing make this a good choice for a NYC weekend. The room was modern with all the needed items. Not really a negative but do note there is no lobby here, just a couple terminals to check in and one person to help you. So not a full service hotel but it was ok with us. Breakfast was typical american buffet for about average NY prices. We generally don't spend a lot of time in the room while in NY so this was good.
For a solo, environmentally-conscious traveler, it was fun to experience what it's like to live in 250sqft of room. Everything in the room was well-designed to fit all the conveniences of modern life into perfectly organized, perfectly sized furnitures and fixtures. The tiling, furniture, and appliances all felt modern and fresh. My only 2 negative experiences during my stay were the thin walls and not-so-comfortable mattress. In all fairness, I sleep on a premium mattress at home, so the bar was quite high. But mattress aside, I wish there was more sound-proofing on the walls - particularly exterior walls and windows. The NYC night-time jack-hammers kept me up until 3am. Even my White Noise app on my phone couldn't drown it out. If you stay here, bring earplugs
Location My reservation was cancelled. The staff did not pass me the messages that were left at the reception. renovation with constant noise. Very small rooms, even for ny. Was charged for full day because of late check out
LOVED the purified water on our floor. Also, the Guest Closet on our floor was nice. Had extra coffee and an iron. Loved the look and the value.
