Very friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location for exploring old town Basel and shopping. You look out on the Rhine River and a short walk across bridge or free trolley ride puts you in the heart a great stay. Buffet breakfast was awesome No shortcomings. Didn't find any faults
Food was excellent, great location, easy access to main area's They could not stop the rain!!!
restaurant, food and service hairdryer
The view from my hotel room.
breakfast was great, furnishings nice, orderly, liked the shoeshine and the free mobility card, internet easy to use My sister (a fellow guest) asked front desk to lock up luggage on checkout day--on return several hours later it was still sitting in the then-unsupervised lobby
We enjoyed the central position close to the old town and other shopping areas. We had nothing we didn't like.
The hotel is very noisy. Traffic on the bridge. As there is no air-conditioning you have to leavae the window open..We did not sleep very well.
I stated at the reception also, the TV are very small.Turkish Star TV is not representing Turkish tv channels, I recommended one of the four news channels from the satilite..Star tv is disgusting and embrassing in view of a Turk..We booked for one night but came one day early and although the hotel was full due to a fair in town, they tried their best to give us the room we liked on the river side..Efficient service of the hotel. One complain, the restaurant's prices are extremely high when a traveller wants to have a modest dinner, we could effort the first night but next night we prefered somewhere reasonable..
The hotel was in a great location and very well priced with well equipped rooms. The staff was fantastic in every way. A beautiufl breakfast was also served. not a thing.
The location of the hotel is perfectly located in the city centre from Basel. The building is nice and has charm being in the Rhein riverside. The furniture and the toilet are old, and it would need a room redecoration and restore.
Well designed. Original.
Hotel very well located in central Basel. Restaurant pleasant and food OK Restaurant slightly overpriced for what it is
It's central location, spacey room and friendliness of the staff (also towards our youngest member).
the room was extremely simply furnished, extremely hot and facing the court where customers of the restaurant could be heard ! until after 1am and the staff started to prepare the tables for breakfast at 5 am. A lot of money for no sleep at all
Rooms were spacious for European standards and very nice bathroom. Comfortable beds. I guess beinging an American and addicted to tv. I missed it. We did not spend that much timein the room so it turned out ok. Funny how you become additiced to something minor.
The ambience and closeness to the hisoric area, river and city. The 92 stairs to the top but without them, you miss so much.
Very simplistic. Cheap furniture
The hotel was not a typical chain hotel - it had individual character and warmth and provided a relaxing atmosphere very close to the centre of Basel.
the location of the hotel the bed - too small - and we had to order the tv
Very helpful and courteous staff, good location
The floors creaked so badly that it was not only disturbing to me but probably a nightmare for those who stayed below me.
We liked the out look from the Riverside room which was very comfortable and a very good size. Free access to the Internet was a bonus. Our only concern was the smell of smoke from the smoking room did invade the general hotel environs.
River view was the most charming part of our stay. The food was excellent two. Staff was very delibrate and helpful.
The Hotel staff were courteous and helpful during my short stay. In addition the location was very quiet for a central location. None
Hotel is perfectly situated for city walks, nice view from restaurant.
The staff was very friendly and helpful; the breakfast was very good, and the wait staff was prompt and courteous; housekeeping was excellent; the water, tea service, and fruit on each floor was a nice extra. The room was very small (I had a single); the street is noisy, more so at night with the music and the people in the cafe/bar across from the hotel.
not much parking; they told me to park in a garage but didn't tell me that it doesn't open up early am so I couild get to the airport. It was also dark in the am and I had to walk there alone and walk up the driving portion of the garage (hauling my luggage) since the doors were not open. The room was small and not a good value for the money. I was on the 3rd or 4th floor and there were doors slightly ajar to some dark room that had what in it I don't know. There were also dark spots that looked like smoke above one of the lights that was concerning. The food options for dinner were not good.
Friendly and attentive staff, great location, excellent breakfast Noise from the restaurant carried to my room
The view of the Rhine and old town is lovely from the upper front rooms.Nice oldy worldy feel to the place yet very modern features too.The food here is also excellent, bit pricey though...bestfor a special occassion.
Location was ideal for my business trip
The location is best. the stuff is efficient, car parking services were excellent.
Could not have been more well located near the city center. The reception staff was so friendly and helpful. The rate was over the top expensive for the small room.
Excellent hotel - central location - cordial staff - nice decor
well situated, convenient, clean, comfortable
Everything was fine. The staff was kind and the location ok.
As soon as I arrived, I was greeted by efficiency, friendliness and helpfulness. The single room had a three quarters size single bed. Everything was clean and worked well, i.e. bathroom had a large size shower which was very efficient. Complimentary water and high quality mini choc box. I had to pay extra for breakfast, but it was well worth it as there was a great choice, and everything was so fresh and of a high standard. I can't believe I'm saying this, but no!
The service and friendly staff , the location but we will not stay for a Sunday again , as everthing was closed. The access by car was almost impossible.
The comfort of room and its cleanines and sheer simplicity. Hotel receptionist not very ettiquetted and welcoming. No help for carrying luggage etc. I have stayed in Ibis Singapore, it was much better than Zurich Ibis in terms of services.
1. Entirely clean. 2. Great view of the Museum of History and the little square in front of it. (At least from my room.) 3. Good location with pedestrian streets & many shops; just a few tram stops from main train station. 4. Staff are friendly; they are there mostly for the restaurant, but they try to be helpful. 5. If you must stay in Basel, there is no real reason to not stay here. It is simple but it works fine with no major issues. 1. About 150% overpriced, as is most everything in Switzerland, 2. WiFi was very weak in the room (about 35%); I often had to go into the hallway to get webpages to load. 3. Only 1 male toilet on the floor, which means that sooner or later you will wait or have to go to another floor. 4. Mattress was a bit too firm. 5. Cleaning staff only there in the morning, so if you sleep in until noon, your room will not be cleaned. 6. The office is closed on Sunday, making it impossible to print out anything on that day. 7. The kind of place that has to put an ashtray in the WC, because if they did not, guests would create burn stains on the top of the toilet paper dispenser by leaving their lit cigs there while wiping their butts.
