Holiday Inn located right outside the city of Amsterdam train station approximately 600m from the hotel, perfect location. Train ride is about 20-25 minutes into the city center. This hotel is brand new just open May 14, rooms are nice shower and tub separate shower big enough for two adults. Cable tv with come channels in English. Parking somewhat expensive but that seems to be everywhere in Europe. Cannot comment about the breakfast didn’t have it. But I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Overall price was reasonable. Nothing the hotel was excellent however, the weather in Amsterdam rain and sun, rain and sun......... so unpredictable.
Rooms were big and the front desk spoke English very well. We weren't given the option to take a handicap bathroom.I had to climb over a desk to close the blackout curtains b/c the windows faces the lights of the arena & housekeeping reopened them everyday.Leftover food was not removed from room for 2 days.
Great location right next to the train station. Easy to go both to the center of the city and also to the airport
nothing Miles from Amsterdam centre (literally 45 minutes, not including the time it takes to walk to the nearest Metro stop). Extremely poorly serviced by public transport. I thought I'd booked a 4 star luxury hotel...how very wrong I was. I complained to the reception staff at the Tulip Amsterdam Riverside. They informed me that in fact there were at least 4 (Golden) Tulip Amsterdam Hotels: The one I was given a room in (the 3 star Tulip Amsterdam Riverside), one on the same site (the 4 star Golden Tulip Amsterdam Riverside) and two other hotels at different locations, including the 4 star Golden Tulip Amsterdam West (this being the hotel I initially believed I had checked into via kayak.com). At the Tulip Amsterdam Riverside, I was even told that I could 'upgrade' to a 4 star room - for an additional 20 Euros per night! The '4 star rooms' were only slightly better than the terrible 3 star one. Paint peeling off the walls, fixtures from the 1980s, no safe. Barely a 3 star room. Communal areas fairly clean, but everything else - appalling. I immediately checked out again and spent another 300 Euros on a quality 4 star hotel on the other side of the city. I would not wish a stay at the Tulip (or 'Golden' Tulip) Amsterdam Riverside on my worst enemy. I cannot speak for the Golden Tulip Amsterdam West, which actually looked really nice and had great reviews, or the other hotel owned by this company. The only way to improve this place wulod be with explosives and wrecking balls.
Friendly staf, good diner and breakfast, clean rooms, and the restaurant opent earlier for us. And most importent very easy with metro and bus to the city and the Heineken Music Hall.
Friendly staff The price was outrageous! We had a simple small room, small tv, with 2 small wooden chairs and an open small closet. I've had better Motel 6 rooms in america
Location is not bad, metro station is right next to the hotel and only 25 min to central station. Rooms are fairly basic but comfortable. Rooms seem a bit cold, I wouldn't want to stay here in the middle of winter
location is great, easy to get to centre of Amsterdam by metro (metro station is right outside hotel). Also bus terminus outside hotel. But to get to Schiphol airport, you need to take train and metro. Bit daunting but after I began to understand Amsterdams transport system it was fine. Hotel was ok. Was told room be ready for 2pm but on booking.com details it says check in is 12noon. After I 'complained', she found me a room straight away! Rooms are accessible through hotel only but the front door is on an outside balcony. Rooms were ok but I think it was overpriced for what I paid for.

You literally step out of the metro station and into the Campanile's parking lot It's sort of in the middle of nowhere, although this is negated a bit by the fact that the metro is right there.

It was good value for Amsterdam. It was the only hotel I could book due to lack of rooms on a particular weekend with a large convention in the city. Quiet area. It is billed as a four star hotel which it clearly isn't. It is in a remote area outside the city, a 500 meter walk from the end of the 53 subway line at Gaasperplas. There is no other way to get there if youre not driving. Lots of luggage is a no go. The staff on my arrival was a bit cool, there is no air-conditioning, no hairdryer, peeling wallpaper, tv did not work. WiFi Ok. Use only as a last resort, it cost me 70 euros for a cab to Schiphol, although they have a special at 55 euro, but the driver took my change from 70 and left. Will never use again.
The staff were so friendly and offered us an upgrade as soon as we checked in. The room was clean and everything we could of asked for. Would definitely recommend this place

Very nice hotel with excellent restaurant. We stayed with two dogs during the Amsterdam Winner Show and enjoyed our stay at the hotel.

I stayed there because of its proximity to the Heineken Hall. The room was comfortable, and the restaurant and lounge area was very pleasant. *The charge for internet service was very offensive. I normally avoid hotels that charge for this basic travel necessity. The Tulip Inn's charge was punitive. I would recommend the hotel to others, provided they know about this significant defect. *Also, staff was helpful in advising on the transit system, but I needed a transit map or info brochure. I got lost in Amsterdam at midnight and didn't know what tram or bus to take to get back to the hotel. I recommend having this info on hand to give to those who have never been to Amsterdam.
Good hotel for the price and friendly staff. The hotel was farther from the city than I expected, however the metro ride into the centrum was very easy. Also, the train/metro/walking directions from Schipol were very vague and it took a while to find the hotel.
