ข้อเสีย: pick up and drop off was very difficult very hard to find where we were supposed to go and staff was not helpful and could not be bothered to say two words to us. we also had a tail light go out halfway through our trip which did not make us feel very safe that the vehicle was checked over before we left.

ข้อเสีย: Insurance could have been much better. I paid for the insurance when I rented the car and come to find out it is not the full insurance that it normally is. So they wanted another 12 something dollars a day. So you need to get your act together on that. Offer one plan and be done with it like others

ข้อดี: The staff at the pick up in Rhode Island was excellent. During COVID seeing/interacting with others can be stressful and the space was exceptionally clean, and I feel like they are handing the pandemic with ease. I will not hesitate to do this rental again a few times while I am not flying.
ข้อเสีย: The car itself had previously had a smoker in it. Not much anyone can do about that, it clearly had been cleaned and aired out, but I could still smell it. Is renting a smoke free car an option?

ข้อดี: The clerk at the counter in the airport could not have been more helpful in comparison to the clerk at the priority booth in the parking garage who could not have been any less helpful and had no interest in our referral to the advertised vehicle we had reserved. The second employee went out of her way to verify the details of a minivan we needed to rent to move some items. She was terrific.

ข้อเสีย: The fees and taxes portion of the original contract I paid for when I picked up the vehicle. Upon return of the vehicle I had to pay the same fees and taxes again. Also, how dare that you charge 15.00 for each toll on top of the state toll charges and the 15. each toll was alot more than each toll. I will never use thrifty again and will post negative reviews each and every place i can on a daily basis.

ข้อเสีย: I am 6’3 235lbs and the seat was not particularly comfortable - had some kind of hip/lumbar support that was narrow (Nissan Sentra)). Other than that, car met all of my expectations. Thrifty was excellent.

ข้อเสีย: Advertises that pickup is on Airport. What they don't tell you is that its a long hike to get to the counter then another hike into a parking garage and then up to the 5th floor to get your car. The return was painful as well in that I had a 0530 departure and when I arrived at 0430 there was nobody in the return area or at the counter and it wasn't really apparent what you were supposed to do with the keys etc. Finally found a drop box in the return area and left everything in it. Upside was front desk was very nice when they were there, quick and polite.

Up-selling to pre-reserved customers is a terrible marketing decision

ข้อเสีย: I reserved a car in advance. The aggressive up-selling at the rental counter was irritating and a waste of precious customer face time. Those 10 seconds of offensive up-selling should be eliminated completely or spent enhancing the customer’s perception of value and service. Profitable business agreements require mutual respect. I hope the folks at Thrifty re-visit this procedure.

ข้อเสีย: This was for SNOW conditions. Car with a low pressure tire Rejected two cars because old bald tires. (HAZARD) Windshield fluid was just WATER (HAZARD) will freeze providing NO CLEANING. Thew above is important to have it in perfect condition for Snow Traveling conditions.

Dishonest about fuel purchase option
ข้อดี: The car (Chevy Cruze) was very good
ข้อเสีย: Agent at car rental desk at airport encouraged fuel rental option, saying it is equivalent of $2.52 gallon which we couldn't get it for nearby (we did see gas for less nearby). I asked "is tax charged on top of that, because then it's not worth it", she said even with that, you won't find fuel for that price in area. After car was turned in, we noticed they did charge 15% tax on the fuel option, which brings it to $2.90 gallon. Agent said to make gas option worth while, we would have to be between empty and 1/4 tank. Who would dare drive the car in on empty? We used 3/4 of tank or 11.25 miles of 15 gallon tank. Which then brings cost per gallon used to $3.87 gallon. I know all the rental car agencies push this, but it's time to be honest with people and give disclaimer that tax is charged on top of per gallon price, and only worth it if you bring the car in on empty.

ข้อดี: The rate was lower than Dollar rental was going to charge which their rate was unacceptable. Although kayak's rate was lower, for the type of economy car available, Ford fiesta, it could have been lower. The only good thing about the car was the gas mileage.
ข้อเสีย: The price I was quoted with Kayak was not in Dollar's computer system until I had to show them my email. That shouldn't have happen and even the representative was frustrated.

ข้อเสีย: Returned car one hour later than expected due to rain and traffic. Luckily I asked for a final receipt as the price per day went from $19.00 to $64 because I was late. They fixed it but very unhappy with process. Also, there was only one car for me to choose from and the car seats were stained and dirty.

Dishonest about fuel purchase option
ข้อดี: The car (Chevy Cruze) was very good
ข้อเสีย: Agent at car rental desk at airport encouraged fuel rental option, saying it is equivalent of $2.52 gallon which we couldn't get it for nearby (we did see gas for less nearby). I asked "is tax charged on top of that, because then it's not worth it", she said even with that, you won't find fuel for that price in area. After car was turned in, we noticed they did charge 15% tax on the fuel option, which brings it to $2.90 gallon. Agent said to make gas option worth while, we would have to be between empty and 1/4 tank. Who would dare drive the car in on empty? We used 3/4 of tank or 11.25 miles of 15 gallon tank. Which then brings cost per gallon used to $3.87 gallon. I know all the rental car agencies push this, but it's time to be honest with people and give disclaimer that tax is charged on top of per gallon price, and only worth it if you bring the car in on empty.

ข้อดี: The rate was lower than Dollar rental was going to charge which their rate was unacceptable. Although kayak's rate was lower, for the type of economy car available, Ford fiesta, it could have been lower. The only good thing about the car was the gas mileage.
ข้อเสีย: The price I was quoted with Kayak was not in Dollar's computer system until I had to show them my email. That shouldn't have happen and even the representative was frustrated.

ข้อเสีย: Returned car one hour later than expected due to rain and traffic. Luckily I asked for a final receipt as the price per day went from $19.00 to $64 because I was late. They fixed it but very unhappy with process. Also, there was only one car for me to choose from and the car seats were stained and dirty.

ข้อดี: The staff was very nice. The parking garage is NOT user friendly unless perhaps you are traveling by plane. I was dropped off by car at the front of the building. The elevator only goes to the third floor. Finally found a person who looked employed there, he informed me I was wrong. Then directed me to a different elevator that did indeed go to 4th floor. Did see Avis but did not see Budget except for a booth. Went over there who told me Budget is where Avis is. Would have liked some indication of where things are located so I did not have to wonder around a parking garage feeling lost.
ข้อเสีย: I would LOVE to see some simple hints for using each car. After multiple times "pushing" start button the dashboard finally said step on the brake while pushing start. Then I could not find how to open the gas tank. Moving the side mirrors. Opening the rear door on the SUV. All these modern updates are very nice, once you know how they function!. No user manual in glovebox. Even a simple laminated card somewhere would do nicely.

ข้อเสีย: The car. Horrible, rattled, and was dirty. Not to mention it smelled like smoke and cheap perfume. The check in/pick up process, AWFUL. It’s 2018. I reserved a car online. I should be able to just go. The drop off, incredibly rude service. Guy barely spoke English and didn’t converse. The price. Budget?! It was $100 for 4 hours. 4 hours! Why?! Never again budget.

ข้อเสีย: The signage to locate the building/office was awful. No one was available to report a small scratch on the passenger door when I picked up the vehicle. I took a photo of the scratch. Also, signage for drop off was not good. Just a box to turn the key. No agent present to whom I could report the scratch. Otherwise I was satisfied with the rental situation.

ข้อดี: Our 2019 Jeep suv was a great car, loaded with all of the latest features including GPS and SXM radio. We were comfortable and safe while driving from Rhode Island to the Cape to Boston and back to the Providence airport
ข้อเสีย: We have been married for 45 years and suddenly you have to pay extra for a spouse to be able to drive. $13.50 a day. Totally pisses me off.
