Front desk staff were friendly Location of the hotel was't as central as we had thought
The room was very elegant and comfortable. The air conditioning was switched off and the room was stifling. Also, the reception staff, especially the concierge were not very helpful.
Quiet room. Very good gym and swimming pool. You have to get a taxi or a tram to the city centre - but the tram only takes about 10 minutes into Zurich city center - the tram stop is very near the hotel.
Very fancy and elegant furnished rooms. Great service and Free Ice. a little bit expensive price.
Friendliness of the staff. The room was very small
Nice rooms, comfortable beds. Too far from the city center.
Very good breakfast selection Very poor facilities and carpets on corridors very dirty and sense of smelling. I was like that my room was Okay -- fairly clean without smelling
Clean room Dont working conditioner!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In all room
Nice Bar at the lobby, especially the guy on the piano. the rooms were extremely small, hardly any room to walk around the bed and definitely too expensive for such room size and quality.
The breakfast was ok, what we are waiting from a Hilton or Intercontinental. Only problem was the room and tables for the breakfast, that looked more like a Ibis hotel. Extremely noisy street in front, so it s impossible to sleep. The air conditionning was blocked on 25 degrees for 2 nights. The shower is flowing, drops of water every 5 minutes during the night. The TV controller was not working either. When leaving, we were 5 clients blocked at the exit of the parking because the tickets were not working. Overall, arguably the worst stay we ever had, thought Crowne Plaza were like Hilton or Intercontinental, well it s definitely not. By the way the location of the hotel is awful as well.
GYM (associated with actual gym, so much better facilities than standard hotel gym) room was very small
Great breakfast - comfortable bed. Lack of hotel transport. $65 taxi ti the hotel is very expensive.
nice restaurant, very interesting design, friendly stuff, nice accessories in the room location, no free WLAN, small old fashion TV
Modern and contemporary architecture, brightness and simplicity, good level of service, nice and healthy cooking Maybe the excess of light early in the morning that prevents you to sleep a bit... :-)
Staff was friendly and attentive. Restaurant is worth the visit, an attractive alternative for somebody who just wants to stay a short-while and has no time to explore the city without wanting to miss a good dinner. In teh garden section you really have no view and the bathroom lacks privacy - you feel like taking a shower behind the Japanese paper blinds
The room are clean and lovely, althought is a inward looking hotel, it doesn't felt too enclosed, plus they have a really sweet courtyard. The restaurant was amazing! The staffs were helpful and professional and made use felt welcome! We really enjoy our stay!! It a bit out of the town centre and there are some road works around as well. But there are bus stop nearby and is not that far.
Very nice, stylish, white and gray "garden room" in the courtyard - very quiet for a city hotel. Yoga mat in the wardrobe - what a detail ! :-) Clean and functional. Staff friendly and helpful. Not right in the city center, but with excellent tram connnection. Athough I didn't dine this time, restaurant is recommendable as well. Breakfast buffet is a bit too expensive (or does not offer enough for the price). ;-)
Professional staff, Nice Bar and Restaurant, Good, clean rooms with modern fixtures and fittings. It would be nice if the Hotel an attached gym or fitness room.
Very friendly staff and comfortable room Hotel has a stylish restaurant and bar, and there are lots of options in the neighborhood. Highly recommend if you want to explore a less touristy side of Zurich and feel like a local.
Air condition is not working and the air freshing was pad.
the cleaness of the rooms prices should be lower
we are not happy with reception staff, he was very rude..
Location of the hotel was excellent for business or tourism. Room was located with street view. It was very noisy with tram noise being heard at night and early morning disturbing the sleep. The water in the wash basin was leaking. At night the corridors were pitch dark.
really liked the new bathroom facilities! the complimentary fruit/chocolates in the lobby was a nice touch. charge for wifi, stains on the feather comforter.
Staff were welcome A Internet should be instaled
For a small hotel like this they had extremely good breakfast. The sound from the street was too high in rooms nearest the street.
The beds were pretty comfortable and the location was very convenient The night receptionist was very rude. The shower in one of our rooms was pretty awful.
I was suprised by the attitude the staff gave me. I checked in at 3 am after a long trip and when asked for a parking space, was told there was none but i could park on the main road but would have to move the car at 8am. This was told with such a smirk. i felt i wasnt welcome at the hotel. The poorest service i ever had at hotels.
The hotel staff spoke english and was helpful. There was no A/C in the hotel. It was very hot day when I reached there on May 24th 2007 and it was very difficult for me to stay. There is a considerable noise from the streets (of trams, buses, cars and young guys shouting and enjoying) if you open the windows of the room and I could never get a sound sleep during my 4 night stay.
It was clean and had new equipment. Noise from the underground and church bells.
Price is very good compared with service/facility,if just need a place to stay for an overnight. Easy to reach.
clean and comfortable need a curtain for the toilet and the fridge is not working
We did not stay at the Anwand Lodge, but were booked into a sister property,Guesthouse Weststrasse 152. The Guesthouse location was very quiet at night. Room was clean with a boutique hotel feel about it. Location, no nearby places to get a cheap breakfast. No phone in the room. Small shower stall with shower curtain, which billows in and out while taking a shower, difficult to prevent water from getting on the floor. Would definitely recommend plastic enclosures to the management. Didn't find out until after making the reservation that we would be booked into the Weststrasse Guesthouse, several blocks from the Anwand Lodge.
Everything I needed in a Zurich hotel; great service, reasonable sized rooms, great, free wifi, decent shower. And v. good price.
Calm situation, nicely renewed Dining room in the basement
The location was perfect for me.
Nice design n concept. No lift provided, had a hard time carried the luggage up to the highest level.
The location is excellent and the price is moderate for Zurich. Despite a choice of over 100 tv channels there were no English channels.
Clean. Premises apparently unstaffed at all times I was there. Accomodation was on several floors, all except lowest accessed by steep stairs: no lift available. Adjacent building has the appearance of being a brothel. Distance from main premises (and thus breakfast) excessive.
location, clean no reception !!!
Great hotel, very attentive staff, good location No trouser press or Iron.
The hotel room and bathroom are very clean. Small double room is real small yet still enough for a couple. Couldn't use water in shower and basin at the same time! Quite dangerous --- the water in shower turns boiling in a split second once turn on the cold water in basin.
Good location, small but nice room, friendly staff
apartment hotel. something new with the resturant and bar. it is close to the cuty center, young people. noisy. you can hear the rail way al the time. no lobby and reception.
Excellent taste in all part of the hotel: bar, restaurant and rooms. Feel at home very quickly. Nice staff. Wish we had more time to enjoy the bar in the evening. Parking is possible on weekend in the nearby street but could be a problem during the week. but there is not much negative thing to say about this hotel
the location was good. the rooms comfortable and clean. The view from my room window nice. The hotel entrance is trough a restaurant were people can smoke.
Breakfast was generous. It was good having a coffee machine in our room. Room was a bit small.
good location, nice staff, room was very clean but small for the four of us
Stylish room Partying by other guests to 3am plus noise of trains and traffic
I liked it all, from the design and decor to the polite and helpfull staff, delicious restaurant food, simply a pleasure to visit. The only negative experience I had was when I noticed a stain on the bed linen on the night of our following visit (Jan 5, 2010). Other than that, all was 'very' clean. I would suggest you put 'very good' as an option between the 'good' and 'excellent' dot point questions above in "2. The Hotel".
Ours was the studio apartment at this complex. Lift opens right into the apartment. Apartment was huge compared to any hotel room that I had been to. It has a huge bathroom and bathtub. It has a kitchen as well. Many windows that look out into this Zurich neighbourhood. Bus stop is nearby that takes us to the city in under 15minutes. Nothing.
Location 10 minutes from train station. Key collection is from a box, very easy but those not familiar with this setup may find it confusing.
Was recently renovated, Free WLAN and nice Flatscreen Hotel located in Red-light district (could not read this from "Kreis 4 quarter" in discription). Dificults check in after 18:00, when only telefon nr on front door of empty reception is correct!)
TV,Internet Room was very small. There were two of us and there wan't anyplace to put our suitcases. Only one cup in the room. Fridge was not emptied from previous stay. No bath mat. Location was in a sex trade area. Check in at one Guesthouse then having to walk to antoher location for room was a nuisance. Walking to other hotel for breakfast was also an inconvenience. Very poor value for the money.
Free parking The room was inside a 3 bed rooms appartment and we had to share with a family the flat. We felt as 'sub renting' the place. Certainly not the privacy you expect from an hotel room. Not hot shower and nowhere to complain as we were in the annex of the guest house.
The Breakfast's price is too higher, CHF15 per person,
Central location. Price in comparison to other hotels in Zurich. Slightly uncomfortable with rooms being separate from main hotel and bordering on "Red Light" area!!
Good room price considering Zurich. Simple, small but very clean room with a nice design. No services, no lift, extra charge for tv.
Only 5 minutes by Trolleybus 31 from the central station, easy to use code system for doors. The area that it is set is Zurich's Redlight District, it can be a bit daunting at night. 4 Floors and no lift.
No possibility to get breakfast is terrible and no chair and no table in the rooms ist also terrible
It is actually near the central station but the neighbothood I think there are lots of prostitutes around the area. Not a nice neighborhood. But the hotel itself is good, comfy clean and modern ren Neighborhood.
EasyHotel is a very good place for young people. The hotel fits good with my point of view on travaling style and, you know, it's just simple & modern hotel. cold floor
new and clean have to pay extra for watching TV
This hotel is not one that I could possibly call a 3-star hotel. It is located in right the middle of the red-light district of Zurich and prostitutes congregate in the lobby.
Very Clean and well priced for the product. No Aircon and 1 english channel. If traveling alone I am unlikely to book this venue owing to the parking not being on the property and when the parking was booked, the space was taken by someone else.
Management very friendly Noisy surroundings all night, it's in the center of night life.
no wireless in room
to be honest, nothing worst parking situation possible, room was more a chamber than a room, noisy area, poor comfort.
Good publick transport links Not such a good area
Noise during the night. People speaking as it was during the day.
Basically, the hotel was pretty much as advertised. The only difference being the presence of many hookers, albeit reasonably polite hookers, is not exactly synonymous with "nightlife."
small and central, but in the middle of the red light district
there is absolutely nothing to like it is in the middle of the red light district in Zurich, most rooms are occupied by prostitutes who even at 7.30 in the morning propose to visit their room! the rooms are poorly equiped, appliances didn't work. Nearly impossible to sleep there for all the noise coming from outside. Do not go there except you feel lonely .....
The localition is not far from the center and is very close to the main train station. The main light wasn't working in the first night! We need to ask for the hairdryer in the reception. I stayed 2 nights and teh room wasn't clean in between. The breakfast is not included in the price.
The hotel staff were nice and accomodating. Parking was terrible and the hotel is in a seedy neighborhood of strip clubs and porn shops. Plus the room was plain and uninviting.
Comfort is OK . Staff very kind. Price fair for what you get. Location a bit far from city center. Positive impression. No complains
A litle bit far from center (10 minutes walking), but generally good hotel. We read a lot of reviews were this hotel described as one in a dangerous redlight distr. - its not true. We found only a couple erocinema around. If its a Zurich RLD - it is boring )))
clean,,,quiet small room....not in a very good place...friendly staff
Clean and spacious room (twin), basic but practical furniture, very close to the station
The price is very expensive, but it doesn't mean the service or the facility are good. I'm very disappointed with this hotel.
It was clean, tidy well located to the main train station which allowed us to travel around various places around zurich.
The Hotel is quite small and revalently close to the centre of the city. The rooms are tiny, but clean.
The staff was really friendly and helpful. They might want to upgrade ther facilities.
I felt there like in a family. Very friendly staff, clean room, good breakfasts and a pb downstairs - you may have beer and watch a match or listen to music clips. Good location - close to the main train station. Trolley bus stop just at the hotel's entrance. Some noisy because of the traffic. Anyway not to heavy.
It was a great time there.
in one word? only the price and location of the hostel can be considered as a positive influence for choosing. The staff is incompetent, unable to exchange currencies, cleanness and tidiness have to improve definitely (!!!) and for those who do not know this, but the hostel is actually owned (at least the building) by the hell angels... great financing business...
