A few mistakes (minor) were made but as soon as it was brought to their attention, they fixed it right away.
Comfortable bed and it's right down town. Staff weren't so welcoming. Freezer needs to be check if there are working.
Not having seen comparable hotels in the town it is impossible to judge. On line pricing would place it in the middle. Everyone on the front desk was very helpful.
Spacious room with kitchen and eating area. Comfortable bed with extra blanket. Staff is very helpful. Quiet location. When we arrived, the room door was ajar. The bedroom window was cracked open so the room was cold. There was left-over pizza in the microwave, coffee in the coffeemaker, clothes in the bedroom, two dozen cigarette butts in the snow on the balcony. Furniture is old (except the bed). The guest computer is old and slow: it apparently runs on a really old version of windows...
1. Airport shuttle was good to have. 2. Cleaning staff were flexible and did a good job, especially considering the dated furniture/rooms. 3. Since there is no breakfast included, we appreciated the fridge and microwave. 1. Staff were mostly inexperienced/poor, though a few were quite good. 2. Walls/ceilings were thin: it is a noisy environment. 3. Japanese tourists abound, but many have little consideration for others in terms of being quiet in the hallways or when they come in and out at all hours of the night. I think this establishment needs to actually TELL them to be more considerate of other guests. 4. Restaurant offered little of interest: we stayed for 13 nights but there was not anything interesting to draw us in there. 5. Lounge? Did not find one that was open whenever we looked.
Our flight to Edmonton was canceled, and the Days Inn had space (at the suites portion of their hotel, down the street from the main hotel). They accomodated us quickly and easily, the room was large and clean. The hotel restaurant (Trek) was closed due to flooding, and will not return. We had to stay down the road (and across the street), and the airport shuttle also left from the main hotel, which meant walking with all of our luggage in -18°C.
wifi cable Nd breakfast noise from kids running around upstairs
This is a lovely two star hotel which I enjoyed staying at, but they charge a four star price and it is not value for money.
Room is nice. Location and the attitude of staffs is not that recommendable.
This hotel was clean friendly & amenities were great. Free complimentary breakfast. Free WiFi. Pet friendly. Very welcoming & pleasant staff. Room was clean, smell free & warm. Room service & cleaning offered daily. Close to shops and restaurants.
The location is central to downtown Yellowknife Pretty old. Reminds me of the old apartment buildings that litter Yellowknife.
Bed good and bathroom clean. Those are our requirements. Reception wasn't the best but they warmed up after a while
The staff (Edward Tse) was very helpful and knowledgeable. carpets were a tad dirty. But then I am picky! :)
I liked the location - away from the business centre but close enough to be within walking distance. The manager (Cathy) was very nice and helpful. The common room was full of all kinds of videos and books etc It might be worth having space heaters in each bedroom to help regulate the temperature in winter
