Location Room was extremely small and had ants shower stall was about one foot by one foot no tub
The location and dinning staff. The front desk staff was arrogant and unresponsive, bad attitude......
Only location was good. except location, everything was pretty bad.
The location was excellent and easy to find, as was the view and breakfast.
Clean hotel with good location on the canal. Small room with small bath. Could not turn around in the shower.
The location. The staff, room quality and cleanliness.
Great location, 600 feet from train station . Old building ( this is a very old city ) but makes you feel as though you have gone back in time . Great food , service excellent. Front desk guys can be a little stuffy , but they upgraded us at no charge . Beds could be queen or king , the 2 single beds are a joke . Pushing them together is pointless. A romantic hotel in one of the best cities on earth , should have bigger beds .
Super busy location. Very handy for our early train departure on our last day. Handy to all of the water taxis too Nice breakfast in a pleasant dining room. Our double room was very large, with a high-ceiling and large bathroom with tub/shower.
When a staff brought my luggage up, I gave 1 euro, it may not be much, but I researched that you do not tip in Europe in general. Staff made sarcastic comments which was very rude. I will not go back here for this one guy, I was ripped off quite a bit in europe, so research and be firm to say "NO" when they ask for more money or tip.
The location is near the train and bus stations and also near the vaporetto. It's a busy area, but convenient. The hotel offers free appetizers in the afternoon and great free breakfast in the morning. The single room was tiny, but it had all I needed. If you don't plan to stay in your room much, it's ideal.
The location, close to train station and to ferry service. The good breakfast. The spacious room (a standard room) and the bathroom with a window. With reservation of "Booking.com" is not possible to dinner with price of € 25,00 as is written in the Confirmation. Please cancel it from your Booking.com confirmation because the menu of the hotel restaurant is more expensive!
View from big windows to Canale Grande
Luxury hotel for a reasonable price. Extra services are expensive though. Nice location by canal and very quiet, but close to Vaporetto. Would have been nice with an airport shuttle service
Quiet location and nice garden Room not adequate for 5 star services poor
We got upgraded to a truly palatial room.
I liked the location although away from the tourist area. I also liked the boat that took you around. The staff were very friendly and professional The trip to the Murano factory which was to the most expensive area. The room was also extremely hot and could not be controlled
The only good thing about the hotel was the Building and its surroundings!! Have you seen the condition of theTVs??? Have you ever seen out of date old sets with fuzzy images in any luxury hotel? Or uncleared tables? Or Spider's web all around?
bar service never getting through to service people, old fascilities in room, bad food
Very Luxury Hall Unacceptable the first room: ground floor, close to the cleaning room and baggage storage!!!! No five star treatment at all!!!!! Discounted rooms here are a fraud!!!!!!
Lovely hotel, beautiful room. We received excellent service at this hotel, I am not sure why others reviews are not complementary.
It was absolutely amasing Too expensive and not really 5 star
Beautiful surroundings - decor, gardens, spaciousness. Our room was very small with insufficient drawers for 2 people. Bath plug leaked and was not adequately fixed during our stay, despite repeated complaints.
our stay was very nice. it was in a nice part of venice, quiet but close to all the action. the room was great and the staff were always so helpful in anything we needed. the food was great, and the rooms were clean and comfortable.
The hotel is a contemporary renovation of a very old building, it is very aesthetically pleasing. The bar was small but comfortable, staff very helpful. Ample breakfasts for ever hungry teenagers.
Nice location in the ghetto of Venice Very expensive internet. Staff not always helpful or friendly. Rooms are very dark.
The location was very good, very clse to the vaporetto stop and all members of staff very helpful.
Very clean, brand new (renovation), super quiet, away from tourist hotspots. Very comfortable bed with a nice firm mattress. Separate toilet/bath. For its category the breakfast buffet could have offered a little more variety.
Quiet location. Good price. No restaurant.
I did not like the fruit juice at breakfast - it was watery and tasted artificail.
Very clean & spacious. Staff were all very friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Although a short walk to centre of Venice & St Mark's square, it was nice to be outside main tourist area - quieter, local restaurants excellent / cheaper, nice walk in to centre.
The location was perfect. Convenient for restaurants, bars etc but away from the the touristy busy areas near the Grand Canal.
Peaceful and well serviced Lack of hot drink making facilities in the rooms
Everything was perfect. The staff was very professional, the room was incredibly comfortable and had a consistent oriental style; the breakfast was basic but of the greatest quality. The hotel is a bit far from the center of Venice, but this is good if you like a bit of peace and quiet.
Friendly staff, nice & cosy room, close enough to most of the interesting locations and happenings (walking distance), but far enough from it for a good night sleep.
Excellent all round
My husband and I recently stayed at the Ai More d'Oriente for 4 days and 3 nights in December 2014 and loved it. Here's what we loved: LOCATION - The location was perfect... close, easy access to the vaperatto's (Venice's water taxis) as well as a short walk to the city center. STAFF - The staff was super helpful, friendly and accommodating. AMENITIES - Free wi-fi and breakfast. ROOMS - Comfortable, clean, nicely decorated rooms. The rooms are small but 1. that's to be expected in Europe and 2. We didn't come to Italy to stay in the room so the size wasn't an issue for us. Overall we felt we got an excellent value for what we paid. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. The breakfast was a typical European breakfast. The coffee was excellent but the food options were not to our liking. However, it I free so not a big deal for us.
Nice room, quite large for Vinece, clean and comfortable. we spent our hooneymoon there - everything was fine. we loved the district and osteria near the hotel the hotel blocked the deposit on the credit card in 3 days before our arrival.
Situated in a more residential part of town - but only 10 - 15 min walk to all main attractions this hotel was awesome. Staff were ridiculously friendly. Place is like a 5 star hotel. Completely renovated - all high tech switches in the rooms. Extremely cheap for what you get. Will be only place I stay in Venice from now on! Nothing
Very helpful staff Charging up to €8.00 for internet access is excessive, given the cost of staying in this hotel.
staff kindness, excellent position, large, comfortable and very well equipped room, large bathroom, good continental breakfast included in price. a bit difficult to read being in bed (bed light power)
Rooms, location Breakfast, very bad internet conection which was not free
Excellent service by very professional staff who were extremely helpful with all our needs. We had special religious needs on Saturday and the staff was very cooperative. The atmosphere was very special in this boutique hotel in Cannareggio area of Venice on the canal. Absolutely peaceful and serene atmosphere that made us forget all everyday concerns. We highly recommend staying here and we will definitely stay here again this summer when we return to visit Venice.
rooms excellent character drinks in bar too expensive
I liked the welcoming attitude of the staff. The hotel is cheerful both in thatvaspect and the decor is fresh and inviting. The rooms are unique as well as the breakfast room. The location works great as I arrived by train and it is a short walk and I rolled my luggage there. Then, went on to walk around.it is close to everything including a vaporetto if you prefer to return to the hotel that way after a long day of walking and sightseeing.also restaurants are nearby that seem to cater to locals as well,Especially Pizzeria Anfora.I was with my 9 year old daughter and she loved the experience, we felt well taken care of there. We would go back. As buildings in Venice are centrally controlled as to heating and air conditioning and as we were lucky and glad for the mild temperatures in early November, the room was a bit warm, I opened the window and it was appropriately cooler but had to suffer a bug or two.
A short walk from the bus station and an even shorter walk from the water bus make this an ideal location. The colourful decor in this restored building makes it unique. Excellent breakfast too!
friendly staff , though not very prorfessional:) the internet conection was very bad!!! no buffet breakfast we were told the room was broken and asked we used room service
I really liked the room and the bathtab with jacuzzi. Nothing
Very helpful staff Extremely small and compact space even by European standards.
Room was clean Shower is not of this time anymore, after taking a shower you could swim in the bathroom, why not having a simple showercabine or so? The breakfast was very poor. For Internet you had to pay, while the website claims it is for free.
Lovely hotel, friendly helpful staff, quiet, close to transport (vaporetto), beautiful room, lovely atmosphere and sense of history although sympathetically and well modernised.
Frendly staff. Excelent Service.
The staff are super friendly and helpful. The hotel's décor is charming and very quirky. The place is in short beautiful. We loved staying here because Domina Home Ca Zusto is something different to the normal. Nothing wrong here. All was as advertised or better.
Good location The hotel is nice but expensive and were charged 4 euros per person and per day as local tax, in the top of that.
Everything was excellent
As they sit on a good location, they do not bother looking afer guests . They should at least be friendly
Loved everything. Wasnt expecting how "posh" it would be. Worth the money. Good breakfast, powerful shower, clean and the view at breakfast. The terrace at evening is only for booked sit down meals and we went at just gone 10pm for a drink as only a couple of tables were being used and even though the drinks would have cost use €20 they turned us away as meals only. Also I know its petty but the coffee at breakfast was cheap quality not nice at all for saying its Italy.
We were fortunate to have our window 'overlook the canal(had requested it). Great view, great breakfast
Excellent hotel in a good location. Very good breakfast.
Hotel is situated near the railway station, comfortable, good breakfast.
the comfort and the stuff are very nice and good breakfast...
Our room was very comfortable and spacious overlooking the Grand Canal. The divan for our third adult was not as big as a regular single bed size.
Location was excellent - close to train, bus depot and vaporetta station. Room was comfortable and very clean. Good value for money. Some staff were excellent, others acceptable.
The breakfast buffet was good. This hotel was the worst experience in our entire trip to Europe. The staff made us book an extra room because they said there was no way they could bring in an extra bed for my son because it was against "Italian law" to have 5 people in a room. We stayed in other hotels in Italy and never had these problems.
great location, good service hotel look great until you get to the room. bathroom needs to update.
The room are very comfort. I got the free upgrade to the canal view room that make me so surprise and enjoy. Breakfast are good too. Location are find. Just the reception can be better, because the way they talk is not so friendly.
Excellent location. Room and bathroom were adequate for our needs. Breakfast was very good with a very good range of food on offer. Not a bad place to stay but as with most Italian hotels we stayed in, I wonder how they achieved a 4 star rating. A couple of dismissive and unhelpful front office staff. No restaurant. Couldn't get a cup of coffee at the bar unless we paid cash, ie. couldn't put it on the bill for the room. And just plain closed one night. We thought we might get a last minute ticket to the Opera but travelling, our clothes were crushed. Could we borrow an iron? No, fire regulations forbid it. OK, fair enough. Did they have an ironing room? No. Could they arrange to have our clothes pressed? No, it's Sunday, bring them down tomorrow? That'll be handy for the Opera tonight. Whole hotel was overheated and could not be cooled because "it was November and the air conditioning is turned off in October and heating turned on". Fortunately the windows opened, even if it was occasionally noisy.
Comfortable elegant hotel. Very good breakfast. Nice garden. Room very quiet and spacious despite being in busy street in Venice. Being close to the station makes handling luggage and final dash for the train much easier. Nothing
The breakfast was the only good thing about the Amadeus hotel, the staff were unhelpful, the room too small and dirty and the bathroom was so small as to almost be unusable Poor service - staff would not even come to room, air conditioning did not work, water would not drain from bath, bathroom and bedroom were dirty and too small
Hotel located near the bus area (to get to the airport).Hotel located in a good area of Venise. The noise but I assume every area in Venise is "noisi"
The location is very good (near the rail station) for us who needed to leave very early (6am) the last day. They gave us a bag with breakfast goods since breakfast started at 7am. A very good value for money for us (March 07), but the same hotel for June has doubled the price!! One of the 3 days there was no hot water in the whole Hotel, so we could not take a shower. However this was fixed during the day (it was Sunday).
There was easy access to shopping and transporation. Hotel staff was not very friendly or courteous. I expected a more luxirious environment, online advertisement of facility was misrepresented.
comfortable quiet room
After a very bad first night at a hotel near Rialto bridge, we were very pleased to be welcome at Amadeus; we were allowed to check in before the normal check in time, which was extremely convenient for us as we had luggage. The personnel at the reception was very helpful and welcoming. If ever visiting Venice in the future I will certainly make a reservation a t Amadeus. Thanks and keep up the good work Nothing particularly
Proximity to all areas
It's location was Convenient for easy Access to shops, tourist sites and traansport links. The Hotel staff all spoke English and were veryhelpful and friendly The bathroom/toilet area was very cramped - very small- large people would have difficulty using the shower
The staff is very helpful and polite and always very friendly with their guests..The hotel is also situated in a very good area just 10 minutes walk from the Piazalle Roma bus terminus and about 20 minutes walk from Piazza San Marco their is also the Fruit Market in front of the hotel with some very good fresh fruit especially the Passion fruit which is really a sweet treat.Apart from that their are a couple of good restaurants just across the road where you can have a Tourist menu for just €11 and the usual pizza corner shops which sell the best pizza i ever had. I will definetily use this hotel again if i will be visiting Venice again... The Toaster in the breakfast room is the only thing that annoyed me because it does not work properly it takes about 15 minutes to do a couple of toast apart from that everything was just fine.
Proximity to the train station was great Top floor - no lift, rooms and bathroom very small
We could find the hotel's sign after across the bridge. The reception open 24hours and takes 10 mins walk to the main station, so we could get the train even early morning. There were a lot of shops and restaurants near the hotel. There were not the room on the ground floor and no elevator so we had to go up stairs with heavy luggages. The interior was very nice but the room and bathroom was small.
Easy to find and the location was superb
The staff were very helpful and friendly Not having a lift was a bit annoying, especially with bags, but we knew this before we booked - we were up endless flights! Good excercise though!!!!
near the station. room was small. shower room was small, too. but tidy and neat. a bit over price i think. maybe in venice island that is why.
The location could not have been better and easy to find.
I stayed in Al Duca Di Venezia with my mother for two nights in mid-November. It's located right next to the Natural History museum and is very close to two public transit ferry stops. The room was absolutely beautiful - very unique and luxurious decor. On top of that, the staff were absolutely fantastic and extremely helpful about sightseeing, restaurant recommendations, and general information like train times, etc. Our favorite hotel during our week in Italy. Breakfast room was small and the breakfast itself was a little too basic - but really, not a problem.
The reception staff was wonderful. They helped us find nice family friendly restaurants, made suggestions for day trips and evening events, and organized a reasonable transfer for us. The hotel was beautiful and truly exhibited the Venetian atmosphere. The best part--it was "off the beaten path" in a quiet area, but within close walking distance to the main attractions of the city.
We booked this hotel based on the photos posted on the website as there was no review during time of booking. Hotel was very new, only 2 months old and the photos are indeed true. The room was covered with beautiful wallpaper and the bed was typical Venetician design. Room was not big but sufficient for two person and bedlinens were very smooth and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and gave lots of information on where to visit etc. My only complaint is that the bathroom was too cold, there's a draft of wind in the bathroom which makes it very cold during showering.
This is a wonderful hotel. I had specifically asked for their room with the gorgeous red draped motif and they complied. The room was large and beautifully adorned. The staff definitely tries to be very helpful and everyone is friendly, but we got a lot of misinformation from Katarina (on restaurants and making phone calls). The hotel is about 15 minutes walk to the Rialto Bridge and about 30 minutes walk (give or take) to St. Marks Square. You can also easily take the Vaporetto (water bus) to both locations. We were very happy with this hotel and would stay there again! As stated above, Katarina tried to be helpful, but gave us wrong information on some restaurants and making long distance calls. Otherwise, the hotel is wonderful.
I can't say enough about this hotel. Staff was exceptional, the hotel was gorgeous and all for a very affordable rate. Wouldn't change a thing!
I enjoyed everything , from the decoration to the location and the kindness of the staff. Everything was perfect.
New, modern hotel + well maintained, clean + good location + friendly & helpful staff - all of which are scarce in Venice. The room was a bit too small and the elevator stopped on the 2nd floor, so we had to climb one floor. All in all, it was a small price to pay for such a nice hotel.
I and my girlfriend had a wonderful stay with nice room setting, kind hotel staff, good location (very near to train station) etc etc.
Staff helpful. Room spacious for Europe. Room should have a chair where one can sit and read.
The room decoration is quite pretty. The receptionist is quite helpful and passionate. As soon as we checked in, he offered all info we need.
Hotel employe were extremely helpful. Breakfast was delivered to our room. The coffee was great, served with warmed milk. One night we wanted pizza in our room. When we asked hotel employee where to get one, ordered it for us and brought it
The location was as reported, so convenient to the train station. Truly a 5-8 minute walk. We dealt with Marie Aurora during our visit and she couldn't have been more welcoming or gracious. She treated us like we were family. The room was lovely. European pillows are a little thin for us. Wish that we could have had one more pillow in the room.
Clean room When I arrived, the front office staff were engaged in heated arguments with a hotel guest over something, pretending that they did not see me ... I had to wait for 8 minutes to finally get their services. Be careful with the mosquitoes in the courtyard ( a common problem in Venice).
Location Lack of maintenance of rooms
Fullfilled our familys needs pretty well, good location, room for 4, fair pricing. Noisy street in front of the room, but the discomport of some noise was well balanced with the deeep sleep caused by good busy program of the stay in Venice.
Lovely staff, beautiful rooms, great A/C
location, location, location no WIFI, that would have made it better, so we can look up things to do etc. Damn we are so spoiled by always having internet acces
Location and easy access from rail station. Great cappuccino for breakfast. The breakfast lady a real gem.
good experience, at the heart of the city breakfast good especially croissant
The location. Breakfast. No aircondition. It was no possible to sleep at night or just being in the room. Do not recommend at summer!!!!!
Hotel Arcadia is located about five minutes from the St. Lucia train stop on Venice, and it was great not to have to haul our backpacks across the island. There were plenty of people walking heavy luggage all over the place, and we were glad not to be those people. The hotel gives you a card and a key. The key is for your room and the card allows you to get into the facility 24/7 which is nice if you want to take a late stroll around Venice. The room amenities were minimal, but provided us with everything we needed. The shower was hot, the room was very clean and the staff was polite, helpful and spoke great English. The breakfast room is beautiful and the breakfast was delightful with crossaints and coffee. It was neat to have a room that overlooked the main street so we could watch the vendors and people. The negative to that was that we could hear the vendors setting up their fruit stands at about 7am every morning. And while the location is nice to get to the train station, it can be a far walk to many of the main attractions, such as St. Mark's square. However, I would still argue that this was a great value.
Location is easy to find, not far from railway station. You can leave baggage at the hotel before catching night train. The heater didn't work well. The fruit and vegetable shop is just front of the hotel, so they make noisy in very early morning.
The hotel staff was very nice and helpful, the hotel itself is a beautyful venetian palazzo and the rooms were absolutely clean.
Good location fom station, staffs were very kind. Breakfast was fairly good. Satisfactory considering most of the buildings are very old in Venezia. No free WiFi in the room
