The degree of engagement which respected our privacy needs. The location and comfort in heating, need for a quiet room and range of fresh foods at breakfast.
great location, helpful staff, beautiful rooms, very comfortable bed
I thought at 370 euro a night breakfast should be included,I noticed American package holiday clients were being given a voucher for breakfast.
Location Friendly Staff Comfort Cleanliness Did not receive Early Mornight Call on morning of departure We had to awaken staff to pay our Bill - not a bad complaint Lucky we had our own Alarm Clock or flights would have been missed First Class hotel otherwise would re - book and recommend
The fact that we got what we asked for
Our room was great. It was big, we were on the top floor so we had really high ceilings and lots of windows since we had a corner room. The location was great... close to the Grand Canal and San Marco's Square. The room very new and clean... we loved everything about it. When I see how expensive Venice is in general the hotel rate doesn't seem as unreasonable when you see what you get. When we booked the breakfast room was not finished so breakfast was not included in our rate. They offered us breakfast at the hotel for 15 euros per person. We thought it was a little expensive, but one morning we tried to find breakfast on our own on the streets of Venice and never found anything that good and it was still expensive. Venice is simply an expensive city.
The location The aircondition didn't work well,so the room was a bit cold.
We checked in early and the hotel provided a complimentary upgrade to a Canal View room, so we experienced the "post card" view of Venice from the room. The bathroom was 5-stars. We enjoyed our stay, but the breakfast could be improved to match the overall quality of the hotel.
This was a lovely stay in venice, the new refurbished room was excellent, The staff were very friendly and helpfull, no breakfast as that part of the hotel was closed at the time of our stay, but was not a problem as it is close to many resturants & cafe's. I would book this hotel if I went to venice again.
The Rooms were excellent, clean, comfortable, excellently furnished and location Th bar area seating was too open, the middle bar had a television on which was not showing much and should idealy be turned off and replaced with music. Lack of complementary water in the room. The instructions to get to the hotel are inaccurate and hotel could be more clearly sign posted
Very nice and fancy place Nothing everything was excellent
friendly staff supply of gluten free food
What was there not to like; an excellent location, well appointed rooms complete with beautiful Murano glass chandeliers, polite staff who were multi-lingual with excellent communications skills. Hotel Rialto is an ideal location for exploring Venice. The hotel is central to all major tourism attractions as well as shopping, restaurants etc. Water buses and water taxis are readily accessible from right outside the front door, making the hotel particularly easy to find for first time visitors to the city. I'd highly recommend Hotel Rialto. One very minor gripe, but not enough to spoil an otherwise enjoyable weekend stay; visitors to the hotel are offered a complimentary visit to a glass factory on the island of Murano. Guests should be aware that there is no such thing as a free meal, or in this case a free trip. You will be expected to put your hand in your pocket and purchase some of the very expensive glass products. Having said that, the glass is spectacular and you may well want to make a purchase on its merit, just be advised that this is a hard sell. Expect to budget at least €200 though it would be easy to spend much more.
It was right in the centre of Venice - great location with easy access to all other parts of the city. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful. It had a great mini bar. There was no bar or restaurant- no where to sit and relax that wasn't in your room. The room was quite dark, with windows opening onto a noisy lane-way and building work.
There was nothing tol like about the hotel itself. The location was good. The hotel was not clean by any stretch of the imagination.Didnt like the dirt on the walls or the mould in our bathroom.
The staff is not customer service oriented. AC was not working and we were above 40C (110F). Couldn't sleep at all
Staff was very rude We had lot of luggage there was no one to help take the luggage through the stairs. Charged extra fee If 2 person stay in the room. Gave us 2 twin bed room.
Perfect location. Bathroom was spotlessly clean. Small room with no view - not what we thought we had booked. Breakfast could have had a wider selection. Interior beginning to look a bit tired, and we only had one pillow each. Still cant understand Italian reticence to use duvets rather than blankets.
staff were amazing
the quality of the room, the central location and the helpful staff
location and price no
Location is good We were placed in what is called "the Annex" - never stay there - it is accessed by a dimly lit alley way filled with garbage - no evalators and no view whatsoever. The Hotel Rialto should be embarrassed to count this as part of their establishment.
Great location, great staff and nice room. For the price, the breakfast was quite poor. Needed to be more choice of fruit, breads and cereals.
the quality and good taste of the decore. the sauna and swimming pool not working and the lack of apology or compensation for it
The staff was very courteous and helpful. The room was more than I expected and very comfortable.
The rooms are well designed and the bedding and towels etc exemplary I think the breakfast could be much improved, it was a let down.Making the Internet connection was difficult.
atomosphere and comfort, very accomodating. Good service from staff
Everything was amazing at the Palace Bonvecchiati, location is great, Staff so helpful! Would definately go back!
What I preferred in the hotel was the location. The room was nice, spacious and clean. The view from the room was not good. The breakfast was poor.
Went to celebrate 20th anniversary. Stayed in a 3 star hotel in Venice before and this was certainly more posh and the price tag reflected that as well. Nice amenities that we were not aware of: breakfast was included at the restaurant, 30 minutes per room of private sauna, jacuzzi or steam sauna time per day. Hotel is a 5 minute walk to St. Mark's Square etc. Staff are very well dressed and say the right words, but I never sensed any authenticity, warmth, friendliness, etc.. I asked for assistance on several occasions from different people related to getting to the airport, a restaurant recommendation, directions, etc and the responses were typically curt and robotic. The only exception was the porter/bellhop from the Philippines, he was great. I would expect more from a 4-star hotel when I'm paying $400-500 per night. It was as if they didn't like their jobs. The same experience was noted in the restaurant which was located in the sister hotel next door. Doubt I will return given the opportunity.
Location, Confort No Complaints
location, comfort and service. the coffee at breakfast was awful. strange when everything else was so good but even the germans were drinking tea instead!
very good location for visiting any place in Venezia
The room was excellent with a good view. There was not a good selection of food for vegetarians, which was disappointing considering the cost of staying at the hotel.
Loved the location, very central. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The air conditioning throughout was brilliant. Enjoyed our stay very much. The breakfast was disappointing . We found the selection and quantity quite poor.
The location is great you are literally next to the Plaza and the Basilica. There are many great places to eat and you can walk anywhere. Also, the location is close to the water buses and taxi's. It's not glamorous but serviceable for a few nights. Rooms can get a little tight and getting to your room can be an adventure
Lovely room with good facilities including jacuzzi Excellent location Very limited breakfast Kept waiting about 45minutes before we were taken to our room after we checked in Staff could have been friendlier
Good Location, Very Good Rooms
Friendly, helpful staff. Close to major attractions in Venice. The hotel was spread out over several buildings. It had joining corridors on different levels and so there was a lot of walking, stairs and lifts to negotiate to access your room.
very good design of hotel breakfast was not good enough
location, our room 121 is biggest one, bed cover is clean a bit of smelly, everything is historied, desk, chair, sofa, even bed sheet (but the underlying bed cover is clean)
Central position Breakfast very basic for the price.
The room given to us was amazing! It was clean, the beds were comfortable and we had the best view of one of the canals! The breakfast was very nice for italian standards, various pastries, fresh cappuccino, toast, meat and cheese, eggs, bacon and fruit and yogurt. The cleaning lady tried to come in in the morning even though we only stayed one night and hadn't checked out yet.
its location. I was very disappointed with the room and bathroom , extremely small and in my opinon it was very expensive. it was very misleading and for almost 600 euro it was not worth it. Was expecting a little luxury !!!!!
very good hotel, nice location, good facilities, good customer service. no
Friendly staff, interior decoration of the room and lobby The hotel is currently under construction and I could not see out of my window
The location was perfect. There was an incident where some waste water was dumped in the canal when we had breakfast on the terass. could have been timed better as the smell what not nice.
Its Venice! whats not to like???!!! But really, anything there is overpriced, but the staff was nice, our room was just fine, good size, clean. The restaurant was very good and its just the best location! They have a great outdoor area where you can listen to the piano every night while you eat or have a cocktail.....just wonderful. I didnt like that it was across from Giorgio Armani, literally! Spent too much!!!!
Staff members are polite and friendly, rooms were clean and spacious. Had their own dock and good location close to San Marco Square. Would recommend.
Location and the fact that they upgraded our room from Standard double to Deluxe double having a canal view whih was exciting and pleasant. Nothing
Location, food, shopping. Find the makers to see the range of fresh fish. Go to a restaurant with fresh fish on ice displayed outside. Excellent! WiFi was not available in the room. Computer in lobby did not work. Internet through TV in room did not work.
Exceptionally beautiful building, gracious and low-key atmosphere of tasteful opulence.
The hotel is beautifull, and clean A bar to have a drink would be nice. The hotel is a little far away from St Marco.
Service was good Cost of mini bar and breakfast was not freshly cooked
Very easy access to transport both public and private
The facilities were beautiful. I was disappointed that we could not receive a late check out after my running of the Venice Marathon. I was told that at 1pm there were no rooms availible for a quick shower.
Beautiful building, location, and room Staff did not have a very helpful or accommodating attitude, we were surprised to find out, and we had several experiences of not feeling the service was good with front desk staff particularly. Orange juice at breakfast not included and charged 14 euros a day for 2 fresh orange juices.
Excellent location and superb view on Grand canal from my room. The room number was 103. I would really recommend it. Breakfast was rather modest. Also as some reviewer already said the hotel lacks atmosphere. It is all too silent. Interente is bloody expensive but one can use Venice connected for EUR 5 a day.
Imaginative use of an old building, with beautiful public spaces and spacious bedrooms, first-rate facilities
i liked the design of the hotel the intenal and the external and the servies of the hotel its one of the best hotels
Everything, it was charming. No points at all.
the junior suite was very tasteful with nice size bed and room on arrival we met someone at reception who was not very pleasant but the next morning we did not have to deal with him and the rest of the staff were lovely throughout out stay. The hotel does not have a great bar facility but the setting and the food in the restaurant on the canal was excellant and matched its 5 star rating. I would stay again as it is only getting on its feet with opened only four months.
easy to find and for vanice that is a plus. nice public rooms. view of the gondolas was interesting and we did not find them excessively noisy as others had and we were on the first floor there were no comfortable chairs in the room just hard back dining type.
The views of the canal and the location I felt the breakfast was too basic for a four star hotel. basic. I expexted a better quality breakfast
Location opposite the Gondola park and for a first visit to Venice very easy to get to main sights bar supposed to be open until midnight-often shut by 11.30
location, staff and room view The walls in my room were a bit thin - I could hear everything the couple next door were doing and saying. It would be nice to have a kettle and some coffee and tea in the room.
Place of hotel is very nice. Place of hotel is very nice. But We had some troubles at hotel. In the morning, we had to eat with about 25 guys who look like a construction worker. I asked the reception, who they were, "ı don't want to eat with them in the same place", they were noisy, bad smell, not a guest of the hotel and the reception told us, they were tourists. If they were tourist, where were the couples of them??? I have been charged for that breakfast. And from 6 am in the morning I had beed woke up by the noise of house keepers. So much noise. On the corridor noisy clean bags... It was a bad experience.
The perfect location, just 3 minits from San Marco. Big confortable rooms Bathroom with no ventilation sistem and complicated way to reach the room from reception
the location, next to pier
Excellent location, free internet, helpful staff. It's 30seconds from St Marks Square and 8mins walk to the Rialto Bridge, excellent value for money (which is unique in Venice!)
Great location right off Piazzo San Marco & major gondola loading site made for interesting visuals and sounds. We had cool weather so opening windows were nice to have. Bit noisy but Venice is compact so is somewhat to be expected. Unfortunately the building next door was being renovated and jack hammers were running in the background most of the day.
It was so close to everything
The central location. Friendliness and efficiency of staff. Had to pay for use of tea and coffee bags in the room.
Did not get a room facing the main canal. Beware that when you book they may put you in a room not facing the canal
The Space and comfort of the rooms Breakfast could have been better
Official, serious atmosphere, but courteous reception, neat & very well dressed receptionists, and appropriate attire of other staff, well decorated entrance of the hotel; restaurant ambiance very good, chef very good food, staff friendly, elaborate choice in breakfast, rooms were very comfortable and spacious, luxurious bathroom & spa. Reception desk staff- could be more friendly and eager to help, should have spent more friendly time to orientate the guests, and take extra time to explain the facilities available--they had a more reserved attitude, didn't see openness. Could have more choices in the dinner menu.
views of venice and again very nice hotel and staff
The Foscari Palace was a wonderful hotel right on the Grand Canal. We had a lovely room with complimentary water and fruit bowl and incredible breakfasts in the morning. The hotel staff were really friendly and on the Saturday night there was a free cocktail evening with drinks, nibbles and a harpist. There is a gondolar ferry stop right outside the hotel, so very easy and cheap to cross the canal. When we revisit Venice, we will always stay at the Foscari Palace, it really made our holiday very special. Not applicable
Easy to find, good facilities, good price, breakfast is really good. Room is a little bit dark. No wifi in the room.
The standard of the hotel and its location suited us perfectly
excellent room (although upgraded), very nice position, nice and helpful staff. Breakfast a bit modest, especially the coffee.
Apparently an old German consulate building... An excellent location on the Grand Canal, two steps from Ca d'Oro vaporetto stop. Very comfortable room with a private patio... No view from the room- but who cares - just go up to the roof terrace and have a drink admiring one of the best views in Venice. Friendly staff... Good brieckfast.. Good choice. Almost nothing - just a few bulbs and bits and pieces in the room need to be taken care of.
Location, cleanliness, breakfast variety, helpful and friendly staff
Having a room that overlooked the canal allowed for the unique ability to observe the busy canal crossings and food market business from above. The room was very comfortable and sound-proof, and the hotel had an excellent placement for shops and sightseeing.
Great location.Excellent helpful staff Room a little on the small size but adequate
When staying here, I liked the way the hotel was decorated, very typically venetian but beautiful. I enjoyed the breakfasts, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. our room was plenty big enough and the walk from the hotel to the main square only took 2 minutes!
Closeness to san marcs square. View over bridge of sighes Price of drinks, extras for eggs etc at breakfast
beautiful room-lovely celilings, tastefully decorated Be careful with booking water-taxi service via the hotel. Agree on price and request pick-up at the hotel's mooring area on the hotel side. We were asked to walk with our luggage through the streets to meet a water-taxi at another location. Fee requested was Euro 60 (for three stops!), which we did not accept.
The staff were very accomodating, especially Antonio, who provided excellent references about shops and places to go, and provided excellent assistance with my computer.
All of the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and I would definitely stay here again if I ever go back to Venice.
rooms very nice, location good.... staff very nice except for one person at the desk who soured our experience.
location bar prices
Perfect Location, very welcoming, comfortable. Overall I would highly reccomend.
A lovely hotel in a great part of Venice, near St. Marks square. Clean rooms, nice breakfast. Our standard room was tiny. We could barely open our 2 suitcases up on the floor side by side at the foot of the bed and pass by to get to the washroom. The room was just bigger than the bed.
Everything was perfect. The staff was friendly and very helpful. My wife and I and our 8 year old daughter were very comfortable and really enjoyed the services the hotel had to offer. Breakfast is excellent and you can also order items from a breakfast menu for additional price. We plan on returning to Venice in the future and will make sure to stay in this hotel again.
very friendly and professional staff and perfect location of the hotel.
Everything was clean and the service very good. The bed was upstairs, bathroom first floor; this is not very convenient specially durind the night.
Neighborhood and traditional Venetian decor and ambience. Access with luggage difficult and somewhat expensive.
it has good location, you can reach by water bus or taxi from airport, rooms are very small.... rooms very small and should have more vegetarian food options ....
Complimentary iced tea every afternoon for guests. Location very convenient to Rialto. No free wifi. Front desk staff were sometimes unfriendly.
The hotel was central located, quiet and clean. Unfortunately this is not a four and a half star hotel!!! by neither standards! the rooms are not up to that standard, breakfast is not either, internet is poorly working; only the price is 4.5 stars; also using the pool in the garden is possible only for 5 euros per day...
Breakfast was great and the location was very good. The room was very small and the bathroom didn't have a shower curtain.
The staff is fabulous - professional; gracious; welcoming; informative. The rooms are decorated in the true Venetian style. The location is charming - a quiet neighborhood; easy access to 2 vaporetto stops; easy to walk to most locations; and the excellent Osteria Giorgione restaurant [we ate there 3 out of our 4 night stay! We will likely be staying at the hotel, for all return visits.
The Hotel is very central and yet quiet. We enjoyed the breakfasts in the courtyard. We believe that the room we were in, which was on two levels, needs the stairs between the levels repairing. They creaked extremely loudly whenever we went up or down them.
value for money
The internal breakfast area is wonderfull The rooms we´ve got were to small
The Hotel Giorgione was in a fantastic location to see the major sights in Venice. We arrived by water taxi - it may not be so convenient if you intend to arrive by public water bus. Breakfast was lovely - served in a lovely quiet and pretty courtyard. All in al,l we had a superb long weekend stay in Venice.
your wellcoming and friendly staff in general and Leila your receptionist in particular
Staff is more than friendly and helpfull. Location is just perfect. Rooms are in good conditions.
It is quiet yet very accessible to the town. It is actually inside downtown area but very secluded. Very friendly hotel owner and staff. Good recommendations regarding restaurants.
Beautiful, friendly hotel in an ideal location- tucked away in a quiet little square ......yet the hotel is minutes from shopping streets and St Mark's square. Highly recommend it and will definitely stay again.
Great location, good price, friendly service, very clean Rooms small and tired. Walls very thin and could hear neighbours.
The location is excellent, very central and within a walking distance to every major atraction, the rooms are lovely, very new and clean and the staff is extremely helpful and nice (which is very unusual in turistic Italian cities) It is difficult to find the Hotel, it would be good to have signs to point us to the right direction
Price and location no kettle, blanket.
The location and quality of the hotel were really good. It was difficult to find
The staff, hotel, facillities and location Everything was fine
Polite and attentive service from all staff, great location once you get your bearings.Well laid out rooms and environmentally friendly set up for airconditioning and ventilation of rooms.
Very convenient location and helpful staff Room was small and not impressive for a 4* hotel. Actually nothing at the hotel was 4*, 3* would fit better.
It was beautifully presented, spotlessly clean and had excellent 'in room' facilities and breakfast buffet.Great location in quiet back street, but close to everything you need. My only grumble would be that the air-conditining unit in my L-shaped single room was right by the door, and so completely ineffective. As a result it was very hot in the room.
An excellent hotel in a brilliant location
staff, room and location Nothing
Excellent customer service & superb location. Hotel seamlessy blended both modern and classical fixtures & fittings. Some building work going on outside hotel and was sometimes noisy.
very difficult to find
This was our last booking on a three week trip and it is off the beaten path which is nice as there are WAY less tourists than in other parts of Venice, but it is still close to everything. The staff was amazing and the breakfast and afternoon happy hour was a treat. Our room looked beautiful. While our room "looked" beautiful, it was anything but. The bed was possibly the least comfortable bed I have ever slept in and the pillows were like 2 inch foam. As is normal with old buildings in Venice, there is some settling but the floors in this room were drastically slanted. Everything smelled of mildew which some say is typical for Venice but this was my third trip in a variety of old hotels in Venice and I have never smelled that before. Additionally, each room (living room and bed room) had a variety of electrical control panels on the walls that were ridiculously confusing, especially when you just want to turn off a lamp.
What we liked most about our stay was the ease with which we found the hotel, in fantastic walking distance of all the monuments we had mapped out for ourselves. The room was spacious, clean and lovely. We checked in early and the room was ready for us regardless. The staff were pleasant and professional.
We felt the hotel was well located but out of the crowded area and quiet. It was nice to come back to after sightseeing during the day. i felt the internet service could have been better.
Comfortable bed and bath room. Kind staffs. Good location. Enough breakfast. I enjoyed very much. Windows are not wide, so that a not well-lit room.
location,friendly staff,nice room,good breakfast
Ideal position for seeing the sites but in a quiet non tourist area. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
