Location and nice hotel restaurant. We could celebrate the second birthday of our granddaughte with the song of the staff. Expensive
comfort and design of the room, view breakfast is too expensive
The fantastic views across the venetian lagoon - main reason for choosing it. Service was also very high - they really wanted to help, even when the hotel was busy. A true 5* luxury hotel for a special occcasion. Everything was very expensive but it is a 5* hotel in Venice so you can expect nothing else! having a room ovrlooking the lagoon was great but you also get the noise - there is a major waterbus stop just outside (24 hour service) and a continuous flood of tourists passing so you are right in the middle of the bustle of Venice. Choose a room without the views ora hotel in a location away from San Marco if you want peace and quiet.
The courtesy of the staff, nothing was too much trouble, the room was fabulous and the food superb. The location was just right, the hotel itself was a fantastic building and the decor was out of this world. No
extremely professional staff, wonderful room, amazing location, a simply extraordinary hotel nothing
Doing nothing for a week
the location, the history and interior fittings of the room,we did not really use any of the facilities we were not there long enough the receptionist said we had a restricted view, this actually meant no view , you could touch the building opposite, this was very dissapointing
This is a superb hotel, in a cracking location, litterally a couple of minutes walk from St Mark's Square, and seconds from the airport water bus stop.. The room and public areas were lovely. We saw no evidence of the staff being unhelpful, quite the contrary, they were very efficient, friendly and welcoming. Recommended. Nothing
Definitely the location and the cadre, interior opulent surroundings. Professional and courteous concierge service. Comfortable large bed. The magnificent rooftop terrace. The only reservation was our room which although very large with high ceiling yet was quite dated, some worn out furniture, rusty heating grills, insufficient lighting, and mosquitoes. The bathroom was especially not up to par and to the high standard we expected.
The Terrace Breakfast
Comfortable elegance at it's best. Warmest staff you will ever find anywhere in Venice. The staff could not do enough for us. Nothing was to much trouble. Spotless rooms, and nice views. The oriental bar is superb. We will always return to the Metropole when visiting Venice. After 10 days leaving was very hard.
the room was wonderful and the in hotel restaurant was phenomenal.
Warm friendly attmosphere in unusual and pleasant surroundings.Very relaxed and the gardens were a pleasant addition to a great experience
The hotel had personality. It was not part of a bland international chain. Each room is individually decorated with antique furniture. The staff were charming. It was very well located. It provides an excellent breakfast. It rained.
The staff were excellent and helpful. The location of this hotel is fabulous. I emailed the hotel twice to confirm the booking and they did not respond until a third email. Breakfast is limited to one hot drink and the choice of food was not that extensive considering the cost of the room.
Fantastic staff, great location, cool hotel design and décor, great bar and food. Will definitely stay there again.
very inviting place like you were not staying in a hotel.
Good location, nice view, beautiful decoration, helpful staff, very good breakfast, romantic atmosphere, best restaurant in town. Carpeting is a bit tired.
Good location, excellent service, friendly staff.
after my short stay i felt so relaxed the hotel is one of the best i have stayed in.the resturant was superb great location to wonder around.
Location Hotel old and decadent, the rooms have rickety furniture, dirty carpet, outdated bathrooms, and in general everything seems to be consumed, requiring renovation rather than a renewal. Absolutely not a 5 stars hotel, not a 4 stars, not a 3 stars, and so on...
The room and location can't be beat. The room was large and very nicely decorated. The breakfast was fabulous and the service at breakfast was wonderful. We loved the lounge and ambience of the hotel.
Take a water taxi to Piazza San Marco and you are only a few steps to the hotel. The hotel included a free boat trip to Murano to see a glass blowing studio and they also offer a one-hour boat tour around town in the afternoon for only 25 Euros per person. A decent hot and cold breakfast buffet was provided by the restaurant out front. We also enjoyed a dinner of traditional Italian specialties at the same restaurant in the evening. Our room was an inside room, so our view was only the courtyard area - but that was okay because all we had to do was step out the front door of the hotel and we were in the heart of beautiful scenery. If you request a waterfront room you will have gorgeous views. Our room seemed to be recently updated because everything looked clean and brand new. The bathroom was small but very modern with a relatively large walk-in shower - and it also looked like it had been recently renovated. The hotel common areas were undergoing renovations during our stay, but it did not disturb our visit at all. The hotel thought of everything - like a selection of soap products, hair dryer, mirrors, convenience packs, robes, etc., but it took up a great deal of space in an already tight bathroom.
All personal were really good
Beautiful old hotel. small rooms, but efficient and comfortable for 2 people. Great decorative touches in the room. Our room had views of the grand canal, with windows that could've opened for a fresh breeze off the water. Breakfast included in the price of stay, and was delicious, with many options on the buffet, fresh made cappuccinos, and views of the water. Extremely easy access to vaporetto, minutes walk from San Marco and many restaurants and shops. Very friendly English speaking staff A con for some: we had to climb 2 flights of stairs to our room even after taking the elevator, which was fine for us, but may be problematic or some; the elevator was tiny, which seems fairly standard for Italy, but good to know. In general recommend packing light, no matter where you stay as navigating over bridges in the city can be challenging with big bags!
The view, the location and the room.
Nothings Really poor management & unfriendly to clients. Description on the website is big different to the actural.
The location of the hotel was ideal. It is a very short walk to Piazza San Marco. The hotel is also right next to some water ferry stations, which makes transportation easy. The staff serving breakfast were great. Air conditioner was not working.
The only reason I booked and paid a fortune for my room at this hotel was for the veiw , I was not given the room I booked and my veiw was rubbish . Would not recommend.
Location. View of rooms facing the canal.
Location Breakfast Very dirty furniture.
Location, super nice staff, new rooms. For the price we were expecting a better view on the room. On the contrary we were situated on a back building
My room was amazing Overlooking water Great decor Bathroom was awesome Loved everything. Really!
It is a great place to stay because it is a stone throw away from St. Marks Square. The water bus that took us to the airport stopped right in front of the hotel, which made the it easy for us to travel to the airport with our big suitcases.
We had a deluxe room overlooking the lagoon - wonderful position, beautiful large room, charming staff. Our second visit and we'll be back.
The location was excellent, the view from our room was Grand. The cafe setting in front was not occupied by guests or customers enough, empty when other places had more customers, not sure how hotel could remedy it. Also the key to the room while impressive would have made us a target if we had dropped it somewhere, perhaps changing to a bar coded card would be better served to guests.
Staff was uniformly professional. Perhaps a bit more warmth. Professionalism tends to leave relationships a bit rigid.
excellent service, excellent location none
ALL of the staff were excellent in their attitude, courtesy and commitment - absolutely first class. The food was outstanding - the best hotel food we have tasted in years. No
Very good locatiion and fantastic view ! Neatly decorated room and nice breakfast room with canal view. Quick service.
Much better hotel than any other 4 star hotels I stayed at Venice before
this hotel was 5 minutes walk from St Mark,s square and the view from the balcony was stunning.
beautiful room-lovely celilings, tastefully decorated Be careful with booking water-taxi service via the hotel. Agree on price and request pick-up at the hotel's mooring area on the hotel side. We were asked to walk with our luggage through the streets to meet a water-taxi at another location. Fee requested was Euro 60 (for three stops!), which we did not accept.
All of the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and I would definitely stay here again if I ever go back to Venice.
very friendly and professional staff and perfect location of the hotel.
Perfect Location, very welcoming, comfortable. Overall I would highly reccomend.
rooms very nice, location good.... staff very nice except for one person at the desk who soured our experience.
location bar prices
Great location.Excellent helpful staff Room a little on the small size but adequate
A lovely hotel in a great part of Venice, near St. Marks square. Clean rooms, nice breakfast. Our standard room was tiny. We could barely open our 2 suitcases up on the floor side by side at the foot of the bed and pass by to get to the washroom. The room was just bigger than the bed.
When staying here, I liked the way the hotel was decorated, very typically venetian but beautiful. I enjoyed the breakfasts, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. our room was plenty big enough and the walk from the hotel to the main square only took 2 minutes!
Closeness to san marcs square. View over bridge of sighes Price of drinks, extras for eggs etc at breakfast
Everything was perfect. The staff was friendly and very helpful. My wife and I and our 8 year old daughter were very comfortable and really enjoyed the services the hotel had to offer. Breakfast is excellent and you can also order items from a breakfast menu for additional price. We plan on returning to Venice in the future and will make sure to stay in this hotel again.
The staff were very accomodating, especially Antonio, who provided excellent references about shops and places to go, and provided excellent assistance with my computer.
The location of the hotel is fabulous, away from the craziness of the crowds and the nearby park is terrific, especially for kids.
The hotel was of a high modern standard. The rooms were well equipped although not large , were fine - although the views from the windows were not worth opening the shutters. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel is in a quite location around 15-20 minutes pleasant walk from St Marks Sq. A water bus stops just 2 mins walk from the hotel. (and goes to the Lido and all the Islands, as well as back to the Grand Canal in the other direction). The hotel did not have much "Venice" character. The pigeons in the courtyard were a real nuisance. They even landed on the tables and (although the staff cleaned up very quickly ) droppings were regular on the outside furniture.
It had large modern rooms in a quieter area of Venice with some lovely green space but still close enough to the tourist attractions of Venice.
The staff was nice enough to say that they will take care of the complains and apologized. The breakfast had variety of food. The staff was nice enough to say that they will take care of the complains and apologized but it wasn't taken care of after all.
Cleanliness, food, staff, bed, information source, location
The rooms were very large and nice for the price. The hotel is located a little over a mile from the Piazza San Marco which was totally feasible because you can walk along the water. We had a 1 year old in tow and it wasn't an issue for us. It was actually nice to be in a quiet area in the evenings. There were also a few parks near by which was great to allow our little one to run and play. The restaurant staff was friendly but the concierge and check-in staff were not so friendly or approachable as is to be expected from a person holding such position.
Location was good, rooms and bathrooms were good The reception staff were grumpy
hotel was great in quiet location and close to boat stop so not far to carry any luggage. I did notice alot of people walking round venice with bags looking lost so great for finding the hotel
Hotel was located out of the city centre of Venice which is away from the noise, and the room is nice roomy. We arrive very late on the day and the staff assist us on how to get to the hotel. The hotel is about 20 mins walk from St. Marco Square and 1 hr by ferry to Piazza Roma, therefore have to plan the time for travelling.
very peaceful, clean too very quiet in the bar in evenings, could not enjoy night in hotel, would have to venture out.could have been more of a choice i food for breakfast
Location. It is a bit far from the city centre and major attractions but still within walking distance.
What I liked very much in the Hotel is its internal design , who stays there fills the royality
Its location The shower was to small and poor breakfast
The welcome from the reception was very friendly. The staff was helpful and informative as well. I loved the classical style of the suite and the fact that it had a nice and cosy terrace overlooking the canal! The restaurant food was not as good as one would expect from such a classy hotel
Fantastic view of the canal from our window and a very tasty breakfast in the mornings. The receptionist recommended a superb restuarant to us on the first night. It was quite annoying to have single beds bushed together to make a double.
Arriving by water taxi was a unique experience. You couldn't fault the location. It was superb! Drinks on the roof top was also a highlight in the evening. The internet access in the lobby was very very very slow; eventually I gave up. Breakfast was a little disappointing for a hotel of this standard. It would have been very nice to have it on the rooftop in fine weather.
the location was obviously outstanding and the building itself had a sense of history and atmosphere, but also felt very relaxed nothing we didnt like
location, service, breakast, view from the room (laguna),and the perfect little terrace above thehotel poor quality of the internetaccespoor for a buisness trip
Lovely hotel and room, friendly staff, excellent location, good breakfast
Everything was great.
i requested a room with a great view and the request was granted. the staff was helpful and friendly. the room was very small and warm a ceiling fan in there would be nice.#(529)
Nicely located but expensive for what it is. Definitely not the best bang for the bucks.
The staff were very helpful and courteous. The location was good for visiting and being on the sea reminded one constantly of being in Venice. In spite of poor weather conditions roof garden provided nice views. Prices in bar and restaurant rather steep and did not encourage one to use these services.
We love The Gabrielli. They gave us a nice room, very spacious, facing the "Isola St Georgio" with a superbe view of the "Riva". We had been there nine years ago and we were glad to see that the good service and amability is still there. Next time we would appreciate wi-fi in the room.
The location - it was very convenient for the main tourist sights and the roof terrace evening drinks on the roof gave a magical view of Venice - though the roof area was a bit jaded and the staff a little reluctant to offer service "on the roof" which is a pity because it was the hotel's main selling point. Faded splendour would be a kind comment, a sympathetic refurb would not be amiss.
The Location was close enough to St. Marks Square.
I liked that it is so close to Saint Mark's Square
The attention and kindliness of the staff and (lady) owner
The upper roof was very nice to look for the whole city. And It is very good that after the sea bus immediately you can walk a little bit and than you can rest. Everything was fine and good
Location very good, room comfortable and hotel appearance lovely. some staff very helpful and the location very close to the vaparetto water stop san zancharria. ideal for weekend stay. breakfast provided but scarce and not much variety. booking.com indicated free wifi but this was untrue and we had to pay for wifi. overall the hotel could've put us in a better room as we were staying four days, room basic and expensive for what it was but location spot on.
Very friendly and helpfull staff. Clean rooms with all the comfort.
hotel staff were helpful, the location is very close to San Marco Sq. We had 2 rooms there, air condition was not efficient in one of the rooms. and the style of the rooms were old looking.
Staff was very accommodating & pleasant. Water taxi very convenient. Great location by St Mark's Square. Diner recommendation at Carpaccio's was excellent!
The staff was so kind and verey helpful, room and the bath was very good in clean, size, quite, free internet, only the break fast could be butter and more choises. If there is varity in type of break fast, other was every thing is just pperfect.
The room was very clean and the bathroom looked fairly new, so it was quite large, clean and had a bath. The hotel is also situated in a very quiet spot.
it's location the rooms were small, you could hear everything in the other rooms and hallways, there was no restaurant, the tv did not function properly only a couple of channels were clear. the room had no decor, and the bed linens looked used and old and wornout
A fabulous hotel. book with confidence. The room and ensuite were great, breafast offered varied choice and the position was close to the piazza and main shopping area. The staff helped us too.
The continental breakfast. Close to many popular sites. Close to the water bus.
Staff were helpful And friendly
The Aqua Palace was the perfect hotel for our first visit to Venice. It is beautifully designed, the suite we booked was incredibly comfy and **so** quiet, especially at night. An excellent buffet breakfast is available. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us. What's not to like? We'd go back in a heartbeat. It rained.
Helpful staff Laundry is expensive Eu 130. Beware of high tides when arriving or leaving. Water taxi is essential to find the hotel - this is dependent on tides. Water Taxis are expensive eu 80
Spacious room. Spacious bathroom. Nicely decorated. Friendly staff. Difficult to find. There are 3 streets with the same name in Venice. Suggest you use water taxi to get there the first time. We walked for hours before we gave up and asked the hotel to send someone to fetch us.
beautifully furnished. spacious and quiet poor directions from #1 Vaparetto
good situation, nice staff, good breakfast bathroom not enogh space for cosmetic"s etc. not enogh ligth
Everything! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Venice.
Lovely rooms, great location, excellent dinner recommendation from the concierge (and it was quite cheap!) No ironing allowed in the rooms (laundry service only)
The consierge was extremely helpful, we liked the hotel and service very much
Very good location. Direct access to a boat to go to the airport The room was smaller and darker than I expected
Top services, big rooms. Good decoration, like an ancient Palace, but with all the modern facilities.Good location, near "bus" station of Rialto (don't take a taxi!). The internet plug was in the oposite wall of the room desk's. Breakfast could have more variety.
Wonderful hotel, good location, with excellent staff. Very romantic. In particular it is very close to all the major sites, but feels hidden away from the touristy areas.
The room was decorated beautifully, we were given a free upgrade on arrival. very helpful staff. great location.
Excellence of services from the hotel staff. Luxury and cleanlyness of the hotel.
staff were excellent--very engaging and helpful with everything including recommendations for both sightseeing and restaurants. loved the ambience of the renovated palace fronting on a lovely Venetian square and accessible by water taxi. quiet location but only a short walk to Rialto and St. Mark's Square. only problem we had was with the keyboard of the computer provided for guests--it was almost impossible to use. fortunately the cost was very reasonable but they do need to update the computer equipment.
Loved the room very spacious. Very good locations. Staff were helpful. Breakfast was included. Breakfast a little limited but still good.
We liked our bathroom - and the square with canals, and gondolas close by. Also, the location close to San Marco and other points of interest in Venice, easily walkable. The room was a bit crowded/small, and no room for two suitcase racks.
Fabulous hotel. Friendly staff. We'd definitely go back.
The features in the room. The quietness of the hotel and bedroom. It is quite pricey.
very big room for Venice hotel with sitting area. Perfect location and very new decorated room. There was extra charge for hot breakfast. We had to wake up at 8 am on Saturday morning because of contraction in thr next building. The hotel staff should arange they start later, at least at 10.
Location and setting, good breakfast
The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is maintained to a very high standard. Our room was very large and comfortable. The standard of cleanliness was first class. I've no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
Everything. The hotel was beautiful, in a great location and the staff were very helpful.
We had access to a private balcony and the area of Castello was nice. Our room was not in the main part of the hotel so it was not as we imagined. It was in a separate building. The key to our room also opened the room to others in our group - concerning.
Rooms are big enough and clean. We hardly found the hotel, spinned around a lot. Breakfast was not good, boiled egg is extra!! Can't believe. They gave us a different room instead of the pictures we saw before.
Ideal situation near San Marco place and the vaporetto station. Quiet street . Excellent breakfast The hotel could improve the quality of the bedding and invest in duvet! We were suprised to leave our luggage in the corridor: they could have a luggage storage.
I am in a wheelchair and their accessible room was really great. Hotel had a lot of charm and the staff was very helpful. Would like a grab bar in the shower.
The location, the design Internet access not sufficent, 1 pc for the whole hotel, Breakfast average. Price too high
It was such a beautiful hotel with excellent view of Venezia. The staff were very kind. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Great hotel, so welcoming. If the bar was open it would have been better.
Good location close to the St Mark's square Bathroom cleaning could be improved
Excellent location and staff very friendly and helpful. Beautifully furnished. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would recommend this hotel to friends and family (and would visit again ourselves).
It's old but new, i mean it has all the facilities of a modern hotel, staff ok, clean.
excellent location with nice make up and helpful staff. room service was not available. Even no coffee/tea service in the room. Shame for a hotel of this grade and reputation.
I liked the staff they were very friendly and the location is perfect its close to almost all the main tourist attractions in the city. The breakfast is amazing the cleanliness of the room and the hotel is superb too.
Location. However, if I had known the room was on 2 levels, I would not have booked accommodation at Liassidi Palace. Had I known the room we had booked was on 2 levels, I would never have booked the accommodation.
Room & Location (not too near centre area which could be quite crowded None
Relatively slow internet with complex login procedures.
The location is fantastic, just off the main tourist drag but close to everything. Gorgeous city and lagoon views from most windows. Breakfast tables outside face the water and boats. No complaints.
The staff were excellent, in particular the reception staff, very friendly and helpful. Views from our particular room exceptional. Very clean and tidy, looking forward to staying there again in the near future. Like the majority of hotels in Venice somewhat overpriced, but it was high season.
This is a lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. We loved the view from our room, watching all the boats and cruise ships sail by was fascinating. The hotel was charming, small and friendly. The rooms were warm, clean and had all you needed The shower in my room needed a little work
room with a great view
The view from the room was fantastic. We had the corner room, with the view of St. Marco's and the Lagoon. Staff were extremly friendly and helpful. We had a pleasant stay there.
View on the lagune; design adn confort oth the room
The room felt very upscale and the location was good. Breakfast was good quality. The staff was not very friendly, the bed was very firm, and the stand up shower flooded our bathroom floor everytime we used it.
The location and the view is fantastict. The staff and the room was in top. We can surely recoment this hotel to anyone and we can hardly waite to go back !!
The Hotel Ai Due Principi has a fantastic location, very near St Mark's but on a quiet, beautiful canal. It has an old façade but was obviously gutted and totally redone inside so the rooms and bathrooms are very modern and comfortable. It is family run and the staff could not have been more helpful with recommendations and extra requests. They were incredibly nice without being overbearing.
Very friendly and helpfull staff. Hotel situated very close to San Marco in a quiet street with lots of restaurants and shops in the neighbourhood. We got a junior suite (unexpected) and it was really very clean and nice!
location, decoration, cleanliness, service, spaces breakfast
Site, politeness of the personnel, breakfast
Large and spacious room, very comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom with all the amenities. Excellent location. Decent breakfast included. Very hospitable and helpful desk clerk Two rooms at the rear of the hotel face a schoolyard; only noisy if the windows are open.
Quality of room finish was fantastic. The location was perfect, 5 mins from St Marks so easy to walk but just away from the noise and bustle, especially quiet with a room over the inner courtyard. The staff hit just the right balance of helpful friendliness. The shower with multilple jets looked appealing but was too powerful for the seal on the shower door, but that was absolutely the only thing I could fault!
Very nicely refurbished hotel Very limited continental buffet, no toast, teaspoon only for cereal. Street/canal noise at night. Extremely rude and unhelpful staff. Especially the desk boy. Find another hotel
The location is great and very close to Piazza San Marco, it is also very quiet at night, the facilities are beautiful and modern There could have been better and more varied breakfast options
The service from the front desk was outstanding! NA
Brilliant location close to Doge's Palace, St Mark's Square, restaurants and shops. Staff were helpful and friendly.
The staff were wonderful! Very helpful, very informative, very accommodating! Incredible location, and the hotel has a complimentary taxi and private glass blowing tour on Murano Island. I would recommend this hotel to everyone going to Venice!!!!!!!!!
Very good breakfast, excellent location in centre of Venice within easy walking distance of all attractions. Within walking distance of Rialto vaporetto stop. The shower did not maintain a constant water temperature and constantly went from warm to freezing to scalding.
Best location, good services, it is valuable for this price. No internet access in our room, only available in public place.
very good location and kind staff also nice breakfast
The location in Venice was good. We stopped in the annexe on the top floor, and there was no lift
Good service and great breakfast, location is good as well, easy to go shopping and access to restaurants. There is no ventination machine at bath room, easy to get wet and humid after bath.
Quiet, quaint, Very Venice! in walking distance to all no
The cleanliness (with one exception). The attractive decor. The location. Bathroom floor didn't get cleaned daily. Air con. broken. Noisy rubbish collection in the am.
Centrally located , clean and friendly. Breakfast - the worst and most unimaginative breakfast I have had at any hotel anywhere in the world.Even the bowl of fruit salad was from a tin!!!
The hotel was awesome. The staff gave us a great recommendation for a hotel and was very helpful in directions. Our room was very clean and the area was very quite. We would for sure go back to Venice and stay in this hotel again. It was well worth the money.
The hotel is really in a perfect location for touring Venice, and for the price, was definitely a good value. There seemed to be a one-square meter patch in the lobby where wireless internet was accessible from. Otherwise, it would not work - rooms or other areas in the lobby. This is irritating.
Ideal location, 5 minutes walk to either Rialto Bridge or St Mark's Square. Staff, either not around or when available continous presence made us uncomfortable. He needs more professionalism and better language skills although we fully understand he tried his best. Breakfast presentation.
Fantastic setting, excellent space and design, very romantic
Excellent location very near St Mark's Square. Staff friendly and helpful. Well designed rooms and reception. Good air conditioning. Nice view from window. Breakfast was exceptionally poor, especially in relation to the price of the hotel. Room was noisy at times (thin walls and next to reception and hotel entrance). Too many light switches in the room - confusing. Showers were unreliable. Room was dark. My wife complained that there were not enough mirrors or shelves.
