This is a very unique, clean and sylish hotel we would not hesitate to use again The food was good but not exceptional
everything is good
The decor and presentation of the hotel is very pleasant, and the staff very friendly Our room wasn't ready on arrival, we said we'd come back in a few hours to give them some time to sort it out, when we got back late in the afternoon and they gave us the key - they hadn't touched it. Towels all over the bathroom floor, beds un-made, rubbish over the floor etc. An oversite, but a pretty poor first impression to give your customers in what was otherwise a very pleasant hotel...
Location in easy walking distance to the city center. Comfortable rooms. Very expensive and forced valet parking (17 Euro/day). Free wifi is of poor quality and cuts out often. The room rate is only good value if you pay a discounted price. The breakfast is priced at 22 Euro / pp. The rooms at the street-side are noisy. The insulation is mediocre (poor window frame fittings) and you will hear traffic noise all night long. The front desk is aware but warns that rooms on the backside of the hotel are also noisy due to garbage trucks coming through in the early morning.
The room was recently renovated - very comfortable and surprisingly spacious Renovations are continuing until later in 2009. Noisy during the day so don;t think you can nap in the afternoon
Modern style Room had been used by a smoker previously and smelled.
Superb hotel! Very friendly en helpful personel. Delicious breakfast, luxery room, clean and spacious. Free wifi. We were satisfied about everything, but nevertheless I think that it would be an asset for the hotel if there were a sauna and/or swimming pool.
Friendly and helpul staff Well appointed and decorated rooms
Quality of the service and smiles of the staff
quiet, peaceful design, very efficient staff
Good location and clean hotel
Only stayed overnight but the room was very comfortable.Breakfast appeared too expensive so did not bother. The lift was not working
great decor and friendly staff. Within walking distance of railway station and resturants etc. We would definitely stay there again.
Good value, unique style
good position - quiet- car parking poor provision of pillows and toiletries. Breakfast adequate but would have been improved by fresh tea and coffee
good location but reserve a parking garage if you travel by car. Evocative decoration regarding the former airline Aeropostal. The buffet breakfast was limited.
All staff were friendly and nothing to much trouble, Hotel atmosphere was relaxing and quite
Good location, walking distance to the city center and other faciltities Staff friendly and helpful and spoke English Very limited parking, small room
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Good central location, but tucked away in quiet courtyard.
It was a welcomed experience to have staff that spoke English. And though some didn't speak it great, they all actually tried which was nice. The hotel is set slightly back from the street in a tiny garden the front and it was only a 7-10 to the capital square and other places like Wilson Square. The staff were helpful and courteous. The room was tidy and a decent size. I enjoyed my staff and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.Free wifi was great. Didn't have any problems with the hotel, but maybe bfast could have been cheaper.
Welcome was very nice. 10' walk from the City Center. Close by lots of restaurants. Easy to get in and out.
comfortable bed, friendly staff, okay location very basic, more like a 5star hostel - small rooms, out of date decor, very run down corridors, overpriced for what it was
Place for bicycle without problems; good coffee at breakfast
The hotel location is good, close to the center and transport. The hotel staff is friendly enough. The cleanliness of the room is on the limit of acceptable. It is required to refresh the carpet and the furniture - carpet was not very clean and the room furniture was old.
The toilet is inside the"living" room, separated from the bath room, without a window and without ventilation.
the central posistion close to restaurants and buses. The expensive cost due to the fact that I reserved at the last moment. But shouldn't be the opposite? the high price of breakfast.
helpful staff and excellent location
Very close to the main train station and bus stop, walking distance to city centre. It was a very comfortable, clean room, good value for money. The creaking floor boards and thin walls.
The staff was tremendously helpful, specially Jean Louis who went the extra mile to satisfy every request we had. I liked everything.
Very convenient both for station and close to centre of the town. The male receptionist was extremely helpful, giving us a town plan and circling the areas best for dining out plus telling us the nicer shopping areas and squares for having a drink. Weather in early November was still nice enough to sit outside. All good :)
close to trainstation really didn't like the bed we slept in - the matrass was totally warn out and it was so hot - no aircon.
Very convenient spot, private parking; extremely helpful staff, walking distance to the centre of the city, very good price
The location, the room overall. Nothing.
- the location near the trains station...not a very clean area.
Near to the station Noisy road outside
Good value for money, staff very friendly, everything very clean. The location is a little unfortunate near a strip club and sex shop but if one is not squeamish about such things then so what. I would certainly stay there again.
Excellent and convenient location. Good rate. The corridor was pretty dark.
nice and freindly staff. very close to the center (10 min. walk). not a nice neighbourhood at night. room very small.
Very pleasant staff, large room, bathroom much roomier and nicer than the norm. quiet and restful. close to the train station so a plus if that's the mode of travel, and not too far of a walk to city's attractions
It was open late, convenient for the station, and easy to get to
Convenience to public transport and helpfullness of reception & night porter Lack of a bar/lounge
Canal plus they miss an Internet connection in the rooms and shower curtains as well
Close proximity to the rail way. Excellent location for a short stay!
It was very close to the station which we needed as we had an early train. The floors were so thin you could hear every move from people above and below. It was old, cramped and didn't smell very nice. We were at the front which was noisy. We were only staying one night so we didn't complain. Had it been longer we would have.
Location to the city, train station and shuttle bus stop for the airport. It was basic but suited our needs and budget.
location is good recepcionist prefer to speak in french. also i had some trouble with my reservation
location, just in the front of train station No air conditioning (during summer time it's nightmare), rooms doesn't seem particularly clean. Noisy.
It was quiet and very convenient for our onward train journey
Central to bus, rail and Metro stations.Very easy to get around the city and airport
It does "what it says on the tin" reasonable price well situated basic but ok, Miniscule lift.
Excellent value, great if you need to be close to the train. Clean and efficient. Friendly staff.
Good location, 100 m from train station, not so far from metro station. Easy to reach an airport by bus (last stop for airport bus is near by train station). Clean room. Friendly personnel.
The people who worked there were excellent, spoke good English, helpful. On site breakfast was nice.
The location of the hotel was excellent, close to the metro and airport bus stop and only 15 minutes walk from the main shopping/restaurant areas. Hairdryer was broken.
The staff were very helpful. The hotel borders the red light district, and subsequently attracts colourful people. I would not walk there at night.
decent hotel with friendly hotel staff and nice location
The staff was so helpful with assisting us in making arrangements for concerts, recommendations for dining out and even providing space and dishes for an impromptu wine and cheese party. Breakfast was a little pricey and not a great value for the money.
Hotel Phoenicia was very clean and good hotel.
Rooms were very clean, laminate flooring, free wifi, great location if you are arriving by train, directly across from the train station. Very basic services (no restaurant, bar, etc.) Shower is not intended for people over 6 ft tall, water went over the shower enclosure and got the bathroom pretty wet.
Welcoming staff. Comfortable beds. Good shower. Close to railway station and easy to walk to town centre. 24 hour reception. Room 201 was cold.
staff and location which is close to station but easy walking to city centre breakfast could be better for the price
The hotel location is very convenient as well as the parking
friendly staff no
This small pretty hotel is right in the heart of Toulouse but is on a quiet side street so you don't feel submerged by the city. The bed was huge and comfortable, the bathroom large and the breakfast perfect. Best of all were the staff who were so friendly and helpful. Would definately recommend this little gem.
Staff was very helpful and speaks good English Very noisy. Horrible smell in the room. Bathroom old. Nothing to do with a 3 stars hotel. More a 2 stars standard which makes this hotel very expensive.
Staff was superb. Location to TGV train station was very walkable even with suitcases, very close to several restaurants and shopping, and laundromat. Ironing board and iron available @ desk Hotel is older, rooms are small, some updating would be in order
near Toulouse RR station very basic hotel, clean, quiet
We stayed in an executive suite and it was delightful. It was very comfortable, spacious, well-appointed and nicely decorated. Breakfast was delicious too.
The room, I chose the executive, was excellent. Recently decorated to an excellent finish, it was fully equipped with a mini bar, safe, enought closet space, tea making facilities. It also had a proper desk, and rather nice reading lamp. The bathroom and toilet were seperate, a nice touch. The whole room gave off an aura of luxury, and the two small balconies were nice to step onto. The staff were very helpful, and spoke excellent english. WiFi was well up to speed. The location of the hotel is good, tho some parts of the street look a little down at night, but having walked it several times at night, I was not acosted or troubled in any way. Metro Rail and bus are close by, 2 mins walk for Jean Jauer stop for the airport shuttle. I did not like that the hall lights were on timers. The room safe was not large enough to accomodate my laptop, but sufficed quite well for passport, wallet keys and camera etc. For business users a larger safe would be beneficial. The wardrobe however was lockable, which was handy for the laptop and larger items
Friendly Staff Clean rooms No air conditioning, small room. (Though in fairness I did book one of the cheapest rooms)
very close to the bus station.
I liked the big room, the wi-fi, the couch in the room, the hallway with all the plants. the area where it is located, near the trainstation, easy to I didn't like the mold in the bathroom (you could see it on the tile), the noise outside, the arabs screaming outside at 7 AM.
Workmen started in the hotel very early.
Central location with parking outside. Could have had more tv in English. Hair dryer only cold air.
friendlyness of the staff and facilities. The presence of misfortunate persons outside
Pleasant staff. Reasonable room interior. Central location. Slightly boarding house in feel. Rooms separated by flimsy partition walls.Communal areas a little tatty in places.
The atmosphere and location were perfect!
Reception didn't look welcoming, staff weren't very friendly, courtyard looked very nice, rooms were ok, not great.
Good location with parking, walking distance from city centre. Quirky building and with plenty of character. Friendly staff. Room reasonably spacious but very odd shaped - extremely long and thin. Breakfast quite expensive.
I found the staff was very nice and ready to help.
None We were told that 5 people can stay in a room..and the total price per night was 87 euros. When we got there at midnight we were told its against french laws that 4 was the maximum number of people in a room so we had to pay 80 euros plus 43 euros for the extra person. I then tried to ring customer services of activhotels from france but the number did just not go through. I had to ring my family in uk to call activ hotels n cancel the 2nd night we had booked with activ hotels.. To which we were told it was going to cost us 80 euros even though it was 2 days in advance. Never again will I use activ hotel to book nights away
It was very quite to take rest after a long travel. Thank you
Very clean, excellent staff, great location.
The staff was unbelievable helpful. The price was low. Hotel has an underground parking nearby. The location is quite close to the city center, althought the street, where the hotel is located, is not really nice.
It was close to the centre of town and the main railway station
it took us only 10 minutes by foot to get to the city centre-good location.staff very helpful.good price no lift, small room.generally, that area of the town wasn't safe..
I really liked the staff. Amazingly helpful and attentive!!! It was in a rather dirty neighborhood. One of the rooms smelled like cigarettes.
In France one expects less from the Hotels, the rooms are very compact. The room was clean, bathroom fine with hand held shower head in a bath. Its convenient to the City and railway station. I parked my car in their underground, secure parking just down the road. Staff were very helpful and spoke English. There is a cafe, bar and patisserie a few metres from the front door open late. You need to be aware there is no lift and the stairs may challenge some mature age people. The staff helped me bring my suitcase down when booking out which helped.
The staff at this hotel was wonderfully pleasant, polite, courteous and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious and graciously served. As well they kept our luggage for us while we dealt with a rail strike changing our travel plans. I will definitely stay there again. Not many, other than a 'flight of stairs' at the entry if you're weary at arrival but as they say, all good things are 'at the top.'
The staff was very kind, my flight was cancelled one day before, and they didn't charge the room for the first day, because I arrived one day after the expected. The Hotel doesn't have a lift, so we had to walk up with the luggage until the third floor.
Very friendly people, super clean! Yes the toilet room was small but enough for one person, not good if you are sharing the room and you want privacy. Overall great place for the money!
Close to rail station. room not done on second day
10 minutes from downtown; quiet, availability of parking very small room for 2 (OK for1) even though it had a double bed; difficult getting in and out of the toilet - large people wouldn't be able to use it at all
Hotel reception both staff we met were helpful and courteous during our short stay
Elevator was under construction.
Hotel was loctaed close to the main train station.
Parking, reasonable walking distance to centre of town Very noisy inside and outside of hotel at night. No net curtains on windows which meant we had to keep the heavy curtains drawn in the morning while getting ready.
Good clean but slighly spartan room with good air conditioning. Friendly efficient staff on reception. Bath/shower water took several minutes to drain away, wifi was not very efficient. I could not open my emails. Wc was so small that it was difficult to close the door.
Nothing at all. La Caravelle dont give a good service on the rooms, horrible toilletes and very old furnitures. I booked two rooms with conditioner air, but it doesn´t work. We couldn´t sleep. We asked for reclamation sheet but they said that didnt have.
central location, balcony with great views in the 5th floor
positio n very conveneint staff helpful
Location is the only good thing on this hotel. One word is enough to give you a perspective: Bedbugs. I had both arms bitten several times. We even managed to kill of them but it didn't work. On the other hand, Hotel looks stuck on 70's, staff is unfriendly and breakfast is really not worthy of the 7 euros they charge.
Convenience of access from train station and airport, nearby main attractions Some seedy areas near the hotel
It was great staying at the Hotel Icar because we were close to the shops and restaurants and more importantly we were located close to the train and bus station. Breakfast was very good and the hotel staff were excellent. Nothing to report
The receptionist was very helpful and pleasant - and the location could not be better.
1. its proximity to the main train and bus terminals 2. the bar. 3.the hotel staff
localization, near of comercial and bus-train station. they are not easy to talk.
Close to bus to airport and some good restaurants. While smoking is not allowed in French hotels, all rooms we had here had string tobacco smells.
Good value for money. Clean and quite room. Having to leave the room key at the reception every time you go out.
