Room clean and comfortable. Easy walking distance of Downtown and Dundas square. Miko (co- owner?) is exceedingly helpful and friendly. Kitchen is well stocked for breakfast. Shower worked well, as did aircon in room. Absolutely no complaints. None of the following are complaints, but merely warnings that it is what it is. The house itself is quite old so there are some effects from that ( the wiring sometimes shows -although it all works fine). The street is not in the most salubrious part of town, but it doesn't feel dangerous at all. The kitchen can be a bit small depending on how full the house is and how many want to eat breakfast at the same time (earlier is quieter), so breakfast can be a friendly affair with the chance to chat to the other guests.
Great central location Surprisingly comfortable Bed Decent continental breakfast Level of communication with host (our room was changed after arrival without being informed and with no key given...) no clear instructions for check out/breakfast/bathroom rules Tiny bedroom Freezing temperatures Terrible towels for bathroom Noise level in the house No warm food for breakfast Construction nearby (we were warned) makes the location feel a little less safe Overall would pay more money for a better place
Proximity to museums and restaurants. Quiet room Beds were clean and comfortable, albeit it was two twin beds pushed together to make a king. Staff were very helpful Adjacent pub discounted meal x1 I don't know if it was due to the NYE/Holiday weekend but the included "breakfast" didn't start until 11am. Staff were helpful but limited front desk hours on weekends and I had to have the checkout receipt emailed to me after I had already left.
location, helpful staff more noise insulation needed on pub side of hotel
Very affordable. convenient the CNE and the lakefront.
The hospitality. The breakfast. The location. Our room was quite cramped, and the feet of the bed stuck out enough to snag our toes on numerous occasions.
This is a lovely old home in a great neighborhood. Very cozy and comfortable, with a wonderful breakfast each morning. Definitely a great atmosphere! Very quiet. The location is a bit further out on public transit, which made for a long trip back in the evenings with traffic. This is really a minor thing, though - price point and free complimentary parking at the Manor more than makes up for the transit time!
We were able to find a room here at the last minute when our original B & B was overbooked. We had just driven 5 hours from Michigan in a torrential downpour, with bumper to bumper traffic. It was almost 10:00pm when we arrived but the owner greeted us with a smile and made us feel welcome. We only stayed one night but the layout of the common and private areas would definitely lend themselves to a longer stay. The bed was very comfortable, all areas that we saw looked and smelled extra clean and the was house easy to find, off of a main road. The Victoria Park Family home helped salvage what could have been a really bad trip. The communal shower needed to be recaulked and we would have preferred a more secure lock on the bedroom door.
The bed was very comfortable and it was good over all for one night, very homey. Kinda staff too. The room was small so for an extended stay there might not be much room for luggage. Communal kitchen, living room and bathroom - the staff actually stayed in a seperate house down the road. The "breakfast" was toast with jam or peanut butter and cereal. Simple, but good for a night!
