Location was fabulous. Harbour view a real bonus for country visitors. Luxury at an affordable price. Friendly helpful staff. A little disappointed two members of hotel staff unable to point us in direction of a very well known nearby seafood restaurant. In fact when finally assisted by a doorman we ended up walking 30 mins out of the way when restaurant was in fact a a simple short walk of between 5 -10 mins away from Four Seasons.

I've been coming to Sydney my whole life, and always wanted to stay somewhere with a harbour view. (Family lives way out of town.) This was the ultimate harbour experience, waking up to the sunrise over the Sydney Opera House is something I will never forget. Spent more time in a hotel room than in any other, just watching the view. Staff were friendly and very accommodating without being either sycophantic or condascending, top job all round.
The welcome at the hotel and particularly at Reception was most impressive. Every staff member I encountered was so professional and friendly. For the price of the buffet breakfast, I have certainly enjoyed better in Sydney city hotels and as I was entertaining a guest one morning, I was a little disappointed with the presentation and the selection.

The location of the hotel was great. The Mantra 2 is located on George St., which is the main street in downtown city. The hotel is located less than three blocks from the Opera house, ferry port, the rocks, and Coles supermarket. What a place, what a staff!
Professionalism of staff. Twinings teabags. Good sound insulation from other rooms. Beeping noise from a nearby garage roller door or something similar. Our room smelt of cigarette smoke and there was an unemptied ashtray on the balcony so we asked to be moved, this was professionally handled by reception desk. Saw one staff member lighting up a cigarette within a metre of front door of hotel one evening, and it is supposed to be a non-smoking hotel.
The staff were great the location was great. The oven and the dishwasher was covered in mould. We did not use the kitchen as it was very dirty, the bathrrom was not that clean neither.

Stayed at the Radisson for one night on our way inbound from Canada to Melbourne. Lovely hotel, in the heart of the CBD. Close to the Harbour and ferries, the Opera House, slight trek to Darling Harbour but very central. Rooms were clean, modern and spacious. Also, took advantage of the breakfast buffet before or flight the next morning which was quite good but pricey $25per. The porters were exceptional, always attentive and helpful with the baggage. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Only a couple of hiccups, we arrived in the morning and even though check in was at 3pm they said we could check in at 1130am. When we went to pick up our room keys they kept putting us off with “ready in 5 minutes” until noon. Just tell us noon, we would have gone for a walk. While we were waiting in the lounge for our room there was some construction going on in the restaurant, didn’t make for the best of atmospheres.

We asked to hotel concierge for the morning call at 5:30am, but we did not get any phone call from the hotel concierge. Ii is indeed disaponted. I hardly miss the international fight.

Convenient location to city attractions. Breakfast prices were way too high. I paid $158 U.S. dollars and the breakfast prices were $18 to $26 US dollars. Overall I enjoyed my stay as the room was clean, quiet and comfortable.

The reception staff were very friendly and efficient coupled with the room service staff who were professional, courteous and friendly. With many people at breakfast it was obvious the staff had difficulty coping with large queues, tables not set properly, inattentive staff.
My husband and I had a fantastic one night getaway. It was amazing, service outstanding and relaxation perfect.

Great hotel location affording some rooms great views. Excellent bathrooms, comfortable beds. Lots of people obviously love it - maybe it helps if you upgrade to the Horizons Club, though I don't see why you should have to, especially as these rates not always on offer. Reception shambolic: no welcome, no porter, no offer of help with bags, no offer to join loyalty programme, told me the Shangri-La in Singapore is tired and needs updating! No apology for not correctly processing reservation. Horrible view of motorway toll booths. Annoying things in the bedroom like unplugged lamps, missing glasses, grubby hotel directory. Food and beverage not good. Saturday night the locals all book up the top floor restaurant and fill up the adjacent bar. Reserve days in advance or you have no chance. For a drink this leaves the Lobby Bar. Neon-lit chilled food cabinet, no music, no atmosphere, bright lighting. Nasty. Only available food outlet The Cafe. Horrible buffet. Dreadful, expensive, over-rated.

The location was good as it was near where our cruise ship left us and the Sydney Bridge as we did the tour. Also, handy to the Rocks weekend markets. The renovations had not been completed and we had not been notified that the lifts would be out and that there was no airconditioning. The ceiling fan was noisy and the bathroom fans from other rooms continually woke us during the night.
We chose the wrong time to visit the Russell Hotel, as renovations were going on. However I am sure that in a few weeks time, when they are finished, it will be a very comfortable place to stay. Excellent location.

Location, ideal for the Rock's and access to transport links of Circular Quay. Noisy, room described as cosy, meant tiny! Furniture as old as the hotel. No mirror in room (complaint from wife). Receptionist (Elizabeth) quite rude when dealing with complaints from many quests. Refurbishment work still underway

We were brought breakfast to our room and expected to eat it there but there was nowhere to sit or put the tray, just the bed and the floor. No sign of the Acacia restaurant mentioned on the web site description. The hotel was effectively a building site and outside our room everywhere was coated in dust. No normal hotel facilities and we weren't told about the small guest lounge, in which we could have eaten our breakfast.
I liked that breakfast was included, staff tried to meet our needs, the jelly beans, and every one was very friendly. The stairs!!!

The hotel is ideally situated for visiting tourist attractions such as Circular Quay, the Rocks, the Bridge and the Opera House. Across the road from the hotel are the Botanical Gardens. This is a 5 star hotel and the interior and service reflects this, I did not eat at the hotel so am not sure whether meals are value for money, there are many restaurants and cafes close at hand to suit most budgets. The rooms are very spacious and well equipped, tea and coffee and fresh milk were replaced each day at no extra charge. Overall a very enjoyable stay. The only critisicism I had was that like most hotels the beds were rather hard.

I liked the spacious, comfortable room size, the cozy atmosphere, the location of the hotel which makes it easy to explore Sydney's most famous attractions and the helpful and fast service at the reception/concierge desk. The service during breakfast was a bit slow, e.g getting coffee, refilling the buffet took very long.
All the staff were very professional and helpful. I had overpacked so needed to send home some items. They found a suitable box for me straight away (within 15 mintues) and brought it up to my room. They were also efficient in organising transport.
Large, well appointed rooms and bathrooms. Excellent staff, very responsive to your needs. Beautiful facility that was a comfort to return to after spending the day seeing the sights around Sydney. This hotel is in a perfect location, close to the opera house and ferries yet far enough away to be in a tranquil setting, across the street from the park. If we ever return to Sydney we wouldn't consider staying any place else. There was nothing not to like!

The breakfast is excellent & is a great location! It is expensive & nothing is free! A member of staff in the adjoining public house owned by the hotel suggested a MacDonalds meal when we were refused a evening meal within 5 minutes of last orders!
Great conceirge went out of his way to book a restaurant and get our names on a door list, good location very close to circular quay Very grumpy staff on check in counter, not too helpful and seemed a bit put out when we asked questions. Gym was ok quite old equipment and pool was inside and also old.

Clean, secure, excellent location and fantastic amenities. This hotel has it all! Rooms are in the process of being redesigned, we were woken up shortly after 8am on both mornings of our stay from hammering and drilling taking place on our floor or directly above. We certainly expected that we wouldn't have issues in sleeping in at such a high-end hotel.

The quality of the staff in the foyer lunch?coffee area. The room smelt a little of smoke. The ice was delivered to the room when we were out for the evening and had melted by the time we had returned - and wanted to use it.

The room was spotless and cleaners did a good job every day. All staff went "the extra bit" to make you welcome and were very helpful. Especially when my wife became ill and had to leave. My car was parked for 6 days and received a ding in the door which I didn't find untill I returned home.

The location was ideal. The hotel is situated in the heart of The Rocks, and minutes from Circular Quay. I also enjoyed having laundry facilities on-site. While not clearly indicated, a small room with two washers ($3/load) and two dryers ($2/30 minutes) was available for guests to use. When we arrived at the hotel, they had no record of our reservation. Even once we checked in, they kept losing the file. There was insufficient staff at this hotel. The room we were given had 2 twin beds. One of the beds was missing a wheel which caused the bed to lean to one side. This was reported to the reception staff the next morning. When we returned at the end of the day, nothing had been done. We spoke to the hotel manager, the only staff member on-site overnight, and he was able to locate another boxspring, and solve the problem which was great. It was however disappointing that nothing came of our report during the day when there were additional staff members available.
The location is superb, within walking distance to sightsee and shopping.all the staffs were friendly helpful and wonderfull. We didn't get the room we requestedbut our room was upgraded to a much bigger room.we love this hotel! Got cochroach in the room..
The location was nice and the hotel entrance is quite pleasant. The staff was a little odd from a giggly receptionist who lacked in some professionalism upon checking us in to other indifferent staff members working the front desk and the breakfast buffet. They weren't rude, but it wasn't welcoming. The room was a terrible disappointment actually. It looked nothing like the stunning pictures we saw online and the bathroom was not clean. Yes, it had clean towels and new toiletries but I could see parts of the floor hadn't been cleaned in probably a few months and there were gross stains from whatever on the back of the door and wall - It was just unpleasant to say the least.

The size of the rooms is fabulous and the fact that there is a balcony to sit out on and enjoy the morning sun The terrace by the pool is within the hotel itself and struggles to find any sun because the surrounding walls are close and tall
The receptionist was very welcoming and helpful with local knowledge. the room was very spacious and clean. We enjoyed relaxing in the spa and we thought the design of the hotel was very complimentary to the surrounding area, we thought keeping the terraced houses and incorporating them into the hotel was inspired! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and intend coming again next year/
I liked the central location of the hotel and the staff were friendly and warm. I found it rather surprising that internet was not complimentary as it is a 5-star hotel. The last time I visited Sydney I stayed at Raddison's which I believe is a 4-star hotel and found the stay there on par with Sofitel, a 5-star hotel.

things were acceptable for what i needed, there was nothing there that made me happy i stayed there rather than some place else. for a "5 star" hotel it was missing quite a bit. no spa, no pool, restuarants were really just bars with some tables. the staff was a bit snooty. everything in the room and hotel are for sale, and pretty much makes you feel like you are sleeping in an ikea catalog.
Bed was comfortable. A/C in good working order. Nice size bathroom. Appreciated the toiletries, the fridge, the safe. Excellent lighting both in room and bathroom. It was a bit disconcerting to find hairs in the tub after the room was cleaned.. The desk chair could use refurbishing.

Location was fantastic The rooms were small, didn't smell good and were generally well below what you would expect for Sofitel standards (and in the centre of Sydney). There are many other city hotels much better standard at the same price. I won't be staying there again.

The location provided great access to Sydney's Circular Key, in addition to business and shopping areas, Art Galleries, Botanic Garden etc. The hotel restaurant was not open during the evening
I liked how it was in the middle of everything, restaurants at your door step, good breakfast Rooms are small and nothing in the bar fridge not even water you had to request, limited room service menu and the superior rooms are small but cosy

Friendly staff The fact that they lost the reservation made through your company. Amazing. Had to show paper copy of the reservation, which they honored. Not sure it's their fault or yours. Also asked about early check in (12.45) which was not honored.

The view from our room to the Opera House and part of the harbour. That, as an international hotel, they charge 1.5% surcharge on all credit cards - outrageous! Also, they tried to charge me $130.- more than contracted booking agency agreement.
Room was available Poor on so many accounts...on arrival was ignored while the team chatted for at least 5 minutes before they noticed. Markets itself as a 4 star...which is a Grace or Novotel...and it only has stairs. Rooms very basic. Breakfast was very basic....remember the expectation and the price. Then got charged $100 more than the price quoted by Booking.com on my confirmation, and I had to make a stance to get it reduced back. awful hotel....will never book it again. For the rate that it is commanding I would have happliy paid the $100 more and stayed at The Observatory under the Wotif deal.
the good location 1. first night was arranged in a noisy musty room at ground floor. 2. get a wrong bill at checkout, and if you use credit card, you have to surcharge a 1.5% credit card fee.

Location This is not a hotel. It's a 1 bed flat (with old style carpet) and definitely does not feel like a high end hotel. Wifi never worked in 4 days despite repeatedly asking to have it fixed. I asked for a plug adaptor and was told to go and buy one (whilst other hotels in Australia always had one for foreign travelers). Breakfast 3 to low 4 star. There are plenty of nice hotels in the area. As a accor platinum card holder as decided to stay there. Never again,
Love the speakers connected to the radio. The bathroom was also a favorite. The maid knocking at out door at 7 PM to give us a breakfast menu.

How close it was to Circilar Quay The back alley to get there was a little smelly...You really need to know where you are going otherwise it would be hard to find.
Staff was very friendly and helpful and rom comfortable except for noise. Hotel can be quite noisy. We were on 5th floor and still heard music from a bar. Also, heard noise from a party on our floor.
It was affordable and handy to where we were going, and the bed and bathroom were wonderful! Free movies, bathrobes, pillows, complimentary cookies added to the experience. I had a little mishap, smacking my shin on the wooden base of the bed when walking around the bed, as the base is larger than the mattress (cool design feature) which would be fine, except its the same dark coloured wood as the floorboards! (Made it hard to see in low lighting, and being unfamiliar with the room). Otherwise, it was fabulous!
