There was a beautiful bathroom in the suite (Privilege) and the room was very spacious and comfortable. Excellent location right in front of the railway station.
I really appreciate le Grand Hotel for its location (just a few steps away from la Gare Centrale de Strasbourg) , its modern design and the clean room. Staffs are very kind ! There is not a business center where I can access to Internet !!! But Wifi works well in the room...
breakfast very small room
Convenience to train Did not like the restaurant we were sent to ( can't remember name but it was on the river and very Alsatian)
Very clean with a beautiful lobby. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful and also spoke English. Hotel is close to Petit France and across the street from the train station. Very convenient. Breakfast is plentiful and good. The shower was too small without any shelving for personal items, i.e. shampoo, conditioner, razor, etc. Public parking is located down the street, although it is cheaper for hotel guests. I guess this is to be expected for a downtown hotel.
Breakfast included, comfortable bed and no noise due to extra door and double windows. The classic room is much smaller than the higher priced room and has a shower instead of a bath.
Great location if arriving by train Breakfast not as good as it was on previous trips (no hot milk with coffee), Price seems to double when parliament is sitting.
Works in progress both inside and outside the hotel; obsolete, smelling bathroom; windows that don't close well; lamps that don't allow reading.
Checking in was quick and easy. Staff spoke good English. Hotel directly across from station, very handy as we were only staying one night. Big bathroom and great view from hotel room. Breakfast not included in price but there are plenty of cafes etc nearby or you can get some food at the station. I would stay in this hotel again if visiting Strasbourg. Breakfast not included in price but there are plenty of cafes etc nearby or you can get some food at the station.
been upgraded on the first night the breakfast. Pay 15 € more for the same room on the second night, booked afterwards
Good reception, convenient location. Clean and well equipped rooms. Mind staying at the 1st floor as the constant sound of I guess the generator? in the garden may irritate you after a while.
I like the different type of cheese present same breakfeast for 4 days. Pork sausages only ( muslim doesn't consume pork would suggest chicken sausages which can be consumed by everyone) more hot plats in breakfeast
Very pleasant staff. Good car parking arrangements. Within easy walking distance of the city centre and main attractions.
5 minutes walk to the centre of Straatsburg
Close to Strasbourg old city. Rooms are clean but old fashioned. Breakfast room was hot as a sauna......crazy!
its central location, garage parking - very good for an over night stay and an opportunity to look around the city
Good location, kind and friendly staff, good room (roomsa re in renovation process, so some may still be old ones) The room was in corridor repair area with chemical smell, breakfast is not as good as cost it, hotel parking area is small and difficult to park.
location near to the city center and the railway station the two door entrance to the room and the carpet
All staff was very good attitude.
The folks here are responsive and helpful. The hotel itself is within walking distance of all the sights of the old town. Nice modern rooms, great breakfast in a clean, well-kept environment. Parking in their garage was made much easier by the gentleman who knows how to handle the tight spaces. Cindy's (at the desk) recommendation for dinner was outstanding. I would definitely stay here again.
The room was totally renovated and very clean! Very spacious and comfortable! In addition, I switched our room dates a couple times and the staff was very, very nice about it! The maid tried to open our door at 8:00 a.m. and then let it slam shut. Also, another hotel worker was slamming the doors in the morning when he was looking in a closet that was directly across from our room. That woke me up and was really annoying. The maids should know before hand which rooms are taken and which need to be cleaned and are unattended without slamming doors! Breakfast not included and the hotel is not exactly in the center, more like 3 or 4 blocks. Also, the bathroom had no shower curtain, hence the water everywhere and the door was wierd. It was a frosted glass sliding door, which was nice but it generated a lot of light (which was not good since we had our kids and it lit up almost the whole room when in use).
Very nice atmosphere, friendly staff, good location convenient parking, but you have to book in advance
good location, nice staff, quiet rooms
Unfortunately, I came away with fleas which must have been hiding in the pillow of the bed and was badly attacked and discomforted by the experience.
The location is good and it is clean and tidy. No. Basically, everything is okay.
Nice, cosy and close to the railway station
The room was clea. There is a good, free access to Wi-Fi. Apart from that the loction is really convenient.
Clean, good value - no particular frills but just the job for a short stay in Strasbourg
Location, location, location
Good location, friendly staff. The drain in the basin is not working properly, very slow.
Everything was all set. A city book pass was provided that was very useful. Having WFI was very good - I needed to use i.
Location Asked for a double bed was given 2 singles. Car park was 10 minutes walk away and Items in the room were not replaced daily
A very comfortable location; a nice environment and neighbourhood. It would be good to have an electronic teapot in a room.
The location ! In front of the train station, close to the city center ... Perfect :)
I liked the location of the hotel and the interior design of my room was truly stunning. I arrived at 1 pm and my room was not ready. I arrived again at 2 pm and my room was not ready. I had a meeting in Luxembourg and had to leave my belongings with the staff, which was not comforting for me. I also needed to take a shower but since my room was not ready I couldnt do so. When I arrived later at night, I had a different woman at the desk who was unpleasant and rude to me. I did not care for her tone with me and felt that she was very hostile. I do not know about you, but when I pay good money for a hotel room I do not appreciate being treated as an imbecile. If the people that work at Mercure hate people, perhaps they should not be working in customer service. I had problems with the Wi Fi as well.
Location brilliant and staff very friendly and helpful. I was disappointed on the size of the room. For the price and the way it was shown in the photos online I thought it would be bigger than it was.
very convenience as hotel is located right in front of the station. we could hear the conversation in the next room! although there were a shower curtain, there were no bathtab nor separated from the floor so after using, the floor was soaked with water!
I am safisfied with the hotel. Everythings was OK, excluding the price. The rate was high.
location very basic, no air-conditioning, no fridges in rooms
The location was excellent. The room was too basic for the price and the TV channels wewr very limited. Breakfast could have been better as well.
That it is near the railway station The decor of the lobby.Looks sloppy.Reception staff was courteous but lacked warmth.
Staff were pleasant. Good location
This is an excellent family hotel with great service, nice people and a truly wonderful dining room. Top value for money. there was nothing that we did not ike.
wonderful staff, great English, very helpful. Stairs would make it impossible for handicapped, made carrying the bags a slight problem.
The restrautant was closed at dinner time.
Comfortable and well managed hotel. Rooms a bit shabby but clean. Good location near train station and tram.
The hotel was close to petit france area, so very convenient for visiting the christmas markets. Hotel staffs were very nice and welcoming. The building and the room needs a bit of renovation. They are so old and lack sense of clenliness although I could tell that the cleaning is done properly. Tough the price is not that expensive, I still thought it doesn't worth the money..
situation close to the main station the room is very small
friendly staff, spacious room, good location the hotel-restaurant has no longer restaurant and that should be posted in the announce
It's a cosy place with a friendly personnel ,in avery convenient spot A little touch of rennovation in the interior (corridors etc) and a lot at exterior.
Convenient to both train station & sightseeing: adequent for stopover stay
Very easy to find from railway station; near bus and tram routes; near enough to tourist centre of Strasbourg.
the location is good, close to station and city centre Shower gel is not replenished. If you use up the small bottle, you are not going to get another one during your stay...
I thought the front desk personeel were very nice and accomodating. The room was nice, not a great view but for a last minute booking at discount it was fine since we were touring the city most of the time. Very happy to see you allowed pets at no extra charge. We will use the Bristol again:) Can't complain about anything
I particularly liked the breakfast. Fresh strawberries every day! Also the insulation seems to be very good as I did not hear much sound from other rooms nor from outside when the windows were closed. The carpet in the room is a bit old.
The location is very good
professionalism of the staff, atmosphere of the dining room dimensions of the room and corridor, lamps (reading is quite impossible), absence of a shower curtain
morning shift - staff was very helpfull ( older man ) fire escape exits not accesible / obstructed / under repair
Convenient to railway station and city centre Large number of noisy students staying on the first night
I liked that my room was ready before the check in time and the location was very convenient. The room was really overpriced and the facilities certainly did not match my expectations.
I booked Le Bristol 5 minutes before I visited there, because of the train strike. It was to be my one day trip and I had never thought I would stay in Strasbourg at the day. Le Bristol is just one minute from the station, bus, and tram. So I decided. Finally, the staff at the reception was kind and polite, and supported me a lot, with speaking in English. It made me feel ease. Thanks. Wi-Fi didn't work at the room. I could use it at the lobby.
The hotel is very close to the train station with reasonable prices.
Close to the station, good beds. Lots of low, wooden beams in my room, I kept hitting my head. Also, as soon as I closed my window, I would smell the smoke drifting up from the bar, even on the 5th floor. The bathroom was tiny and not very clean (and the toilet seat fell off on the first evening).
It is easy to access from the Rail Station and only 5 minutes from the centre of Strasbourg and Petite France and a huge variety of food shops and cafes and other shops in the vicinity The hotel is popular with young people and school groups and at times was quite noisy but this did not disturb my sleep. I could not access the free wireless with my Mac and the staff could not help with passwords or advice.
the internet they need somebody that speaks english well
everything is OK
Perfect Location ..just 4 mins walk from Gare de strasbourg station. Hotel is busy throught out day n night so no problem in check in as we arrived around 1:30 am in night. Room was very clean . all basic amenities provided. Nice bathroom . hotel staff spoke good english and were helpful. Breakfast could have been better. We payed 8 euros per head just for 2 croissants. No bread to toast also . may be its just french culture b/c we faced the same issue in Paris.
Location, very helpful and kind staff, price TV cahnnels all were in French
The location of hotel is excellent, the price is very good. A good place for accomodation for people, who are staying in the city for a short time, who arrive late night.
In front of Train station and hotel was clean. Receptionist is not always there.
Cheap hotel near central station. Sometimes a little bit noisy because of other guests.
The hotel is very close to the train station and tram station, so it's quite convenient to go to downtown and sight spot!
Location is very good. The staf in the reception is very kind. We didn't have any problem. The room was a little bit small and bathroom too.
It was clean. Old hotel, TV now working...
The hotel staff was very polite and excellent. Nothing
very clean. Good location
Very nice, friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent. The mattress sagged. Also, street noise was constant. (Not the hotel's fault. Our windows were open.)
good location just outside the central station, big rooms internet was broken when we were there and they didn't do anything about it they just said " we don't know"
friendly welcome and location No
Close to city center and station. Good heating, hot water, clean. Nice receptionist. Parking discount (7Eur per day) Pretty small room and bathroom.
The hotel is conveniently located closed to the railway station and the city centre. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The hotel was located across the street from the Strasbourg train station--very convenient. It was also located within walking distance to the Old Town. The room was adequate and the price appropriate to the amenities offered.
Very friendly staff, good quiet atmosphere, excellent central location, good value for money and, crucially, highly efficient air conditioning system!
Close to the center and right opposite the train station.
Good location, normal value for money. There were two things I did not like about the hotel. First, when I entered the hotel I had to write my name and address into a notebook where all the other customers could also read the information. I have never seen something like that before. Second, the hotel charged my credit card twice and I had to contact my bank to correct this mistake. Double charging has also never happened to me before.
All went fine. We were planning to stay only one night though, so I can't quite say much on long staying. But the staff was very kind, rooms were more than fine for a short staying. Only problem, flushing the toilets might have required some waiting ...
convenient for city centre and very close to railway station. This was a very pleasant overnight stop. No
Sophie was tres gentile. Breakfast was good. I was happy with staying there. I would stay there again if I returned.
only the location close enough to the center very old hotel without any renovation
Proximity to the station Uncomfortable bed, poor quality linens, dated decor and furnishings, tiny bathroom
great location, friendly staff, worth the money front side rooms are big and comfortable but back side rooms are not so much.
Very good location, very good buffet breakfast, small but comfortable room, free WIFI friendly personnel.
The location is great being so close to the old town. However, I booked 10 twins but when we turned up (only around 5 p.m,, not late at night) we were simply told "Sorry, we only have 6 twins. The rest you have to take double rooms!!" I think there should be some guarantee about getting what we book through booking.com.
very close to the station, the price included breakfast the room was small
Great location, friendly staff, decent breakfast and the building is renewed. The rooms are way too small.
The staff was friendly, curteous and very helpful, The room, although very small, was clean with ample storage. The hotel is located on a side street and it would have been helpful if we had known that beforehand; even with a GPS, it was hard to find. The location, just across from the main train station, was central and it was easy to get around.
the room was very clean, hotel staffs are very kind. the room was small, but ok.
Newly renovated, clean, good location. Very good 2 star hotel.
Clean, modern rooms and trendy atmosphere.
Great location, comfy bed, trendy, free drinks apples and candy, nice breakfast, friendly staff. Remodeled rooms but on the small side.
The location was pretty convenient because we could walk to everything we wanted to see and do. The rooms were extremely small. We brought our pack and play for our 1 year old, and had to switch rooms because the room was too small to fit the pack and play in it. They also say that parking is available, but the parking is 3 blocks away.
Excellent value and clean hotel opposite the train station, with a nice old fashion atmosphere but renovated rooms
No Internet. To look your mail, you must buy an hour at least for 5 euros.
The hotel staff was very helpful and most everyone spoke some English. The room was niced size and was well kept as it is an old hotel. They have tried to update. We had a wonderful room and the children had a room to themselves with twin beds and found it fine as well. Breakfast was a typical European style breakfast with bread, cereal, some fruit and jam. There could have been more of a selection however. The hotel was very quiet and very well placed. We did not drive and came from the train and it was so easy. Our train left very late in the evening of the day we checked out and they kept our luggage for us all day which was a great plus. We would stay here again if we were to visit Strasbourg.
The staff was family-like in greeting us like guests making sure we were comfortable. We will go back to this hotel the next time we're in Strasbourbg.
Hotel was classically old and once would have been a very grand place. Lift is beautiful and the view from Rm86 is fabulous. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Rm86 needs an overhaul. Still with, likely, the original tub bath and no shower although sink/basin are new. Other rooms appeared to have been upgraded. But very clean and view was worth it.
Close proximity to the city center and railway station You cannot use any of your own electrical equipment (such as hairdryer or battery charger) as the network cannot take this wattage and switches off immediately...
Right across the street from the train station, within easy walking distance to the main tourist areas. No working electrical outlets, only one station on TV, walls are a bit thin.
The location. The rooms were musty smelling. The sidewalks around the hotel were under construction. THe hallways were dark.
decoration of rooms some problems due to non working things in the toilet.
The hotel is conveniently near the station. We spent in comfort at an affordable price.
