Pros: Well kept stylish beautiful location A fine upscale hotel
Cons: Proximity to all inclusive next door a minor drawback because of occasional noisy music but not a deal breaker
Pros: Excellent hotel ! food was great, rooms are wonderful ! Highly recommend this hotel.
Pros: Probably one of the best hotels I have stayed at in Puerto Plata and I have been to five of them. Gorgeous views, courteous staff, all your needs addressed, good food, only place I have stayed as a resort/hotel that actually has Dominican food.
Cons: It was not all inclusive. Food and drinks are seperate. However the prices are reasonable and the week was cheaper than I expected. Next time knowing that I will just budget differently.
Enjoy the superb beach front location of Casa Colonial Beach & Spa, luxury boutique hotel experience with a very romantic atmosphere, mostly for adults and couples. Bagua Spa is located on site as well walking distance to the Playa Dorada Golf course which is a signature 18 holes par 72. We are a prod member of Small Luxury Hotels of the worls SLH and have been AAA 4 Diamonds awarded. Fine Dining at Lucia Restauran on site. The infinity rooftop pool for a sunset margarita is a spot not to be missed.
Pros: Loved the breakfast! Everything was delicious and the variety was truly a surprise.
Cons: The hot tub beside the pool was cold. If you add the bubbler to it, then it was REALLY cold. Sometimes old muscles just need a little therapy, but it wasn't going to happen in that cold whirlpool!
Cons: The resort was fine but the resorts on the island must get together and sort out the huge amount of plastic and trash that accumulates away from the kept areas. Much of it seems to be generated by all...
Pros: We were upgraded to a suite for free, so a lot of space, Jacuzzi and other came as a surprise. Good breakfast, nice on-site restaurant(-s?), good beach, well maintained territory, easy access by car.
Cons: wi-fi in the room was working from time to time only
Pros: Free breakfast was great and restaurants were very good
Cons: Nothing negative to say..well managed property
Pros: This hotel has a nice beach and friendly staff. Friendly golf car drivers and good location on Dorada beach.

Pros: Friendly staff! We received a free upgrade to a Junior Suite decorated with natural flowers because we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. The Green Jack restaurant is very good.
Pros: Very confortable and pleasant
Pros: Perfect place, great food, the staff was awesome. No complains.
Pros: Close to the beach
Cons: Not All inclusive. Bar tender always missing from the bar in the pool.
Pros: The staff was very professional, thoughtful and friendly. special thanks to Julio, Stanley, Carlos, Rolando who were especially helpful and paid us close attention. Since we didn't have a vehicle, we also greatly appreciated that transportati was provided
Cons: There were not bedrooms with 2 beds on the first floor. I was vacationing with my mother, who can't climb stairs easily due to her age and knees my wife, who is pregnant and it's difficult for her to climb stairs. The rooms were also far from the beach.
Arrayed along a white-sand beach in the exclusive Playa Dorada enclave, this Puerto Plata hotel adjoins the 18-hole Campo de Golf course; a shopping center is a 10-minute walk away.
Pros: The staff and food is great. The spa is good as well as the pools. The shows in the night are amazing.

Pros: Staff was very friendly. They kept the resort very clean and were on top of maintenance
Cons: Food choices weren't great. Seemed all restaurants had same food and not a big selection. Buffett didn't change. Need more food choices.
Pros: Great hotel. When they say all inclusive they mean all inclusive. Food was awesome. Buffet was great. Jet ski was awesome. Great place they take care of you well.
Cons: It was all great
At Sunscape Puerto Plata - All Inclusive, you can spend time at the beach enjoying beach umbrellas, volleyball, and beachside drinks, plus you'll be just a 5-minute drive from Playa Dorada. 2 outdoor pools provide a splash of fun, while guests in the mood for pampering can visit the spa to indulge in deep-tissue massages, detox wraps, and aromatherapy. Windows, one of 8 restaurants, serves international cuisine and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Cons: At the moment of the c/o a Lady at the desk claimed that we missed a towel key. She didn't realized that we made a booking for 2 adults an 1 child per room ( we book 2 rooms), but only 1 child...
Pros: Huge pool, proximity to the beach is great. Staff was very nice which goes a long way. The rooms were a bit outdated but were kept clean.
The Mercado buffet had good variety. Location is about a 10 - 15 min ride to airport which is great! Nightly Entertainment was fun.
Cons: The pool bar only had one bartender who was extremely overwhelmed at times. No one helped him, even to restock. Pool closes at 7pm which is a bummer.
The Beach isn't great as there are a lot of huge mountain rocks in the water. Television reception wasn't the best but then again who was really staying in to watch TV? Also there isn't an AC controller. You could only control the speed of the ceiling fan. I could've gone without the vendors all around.
Pros: Close to pool restaurants and beach really easy to go thru
Cons: Food!!!! Invariable horrible to be a weekend so that means weekday will be worse
Pros: Did not bother with the specialty restaurants because the buffet had such a great selection to suite every taste! Great food! Wonderful service, especially from our great waiter Kennedy!!
Cons: Do not have a single complaint! Have used Iberostar Costa Dorada many times!
Pros: The resort itself was comfortable and simply enjoyable. It was well kept up and we enjoyed our stay. Loved the various bars and restaurants.
Cons: The resort, especially the rooms, are becoming dated. Everything was clean but guessing time for an upgrade soon. Also, the food was okay but not outstanding.

Pros: i liked the pool and the spa. I liked the workout facility.
Cons: I didn't like the food. It want impressive.
Pros: The food
Cons: I rolled over a roach on the bed
Pros: Best food I have had at an all inclusive in Puerto Plata. Staff was very friendly with lots of activities. Service in restaurants was incredible, by day two Domingo knew what we wanted and had it ready for every meal by the time we were there. Top shelf liquors available at select bars, safe is free, casino is right next door, beautiful beach, close to airport and city, would likely go back. We had 24 people come from 15 to 78 and all had a great time (and not one person was ill from food)
Cons: Definitely more family oriented than for younger people, rooms were a bit dated... We had an outlet hanging out and a fridge that didn't work (we weren't in there very much), restaurant reservations can be hard to come by (if you get one go Japanese, by far the best) , less beach people trying to push excursions than other places but still there (they are honest and had better deals for the same stuff as the resort, IE we had resort goers in our group set up by the beach guys, but we paid a lot less), good liquor is really only found at the front bar
Cons: Weather , staff from other hotels bugging in beachfront , loud bad music at restaurant
Overlooking the Costa Dorada Beach, an ideal place for water sports, just 20 minutes from the airport and the bustling city of Puerto Plata.
Pros: The rooms were clean. The facility was clean
Cons: I didn't like the way one of the workers yelled at us because we used three chairs that were in the pool area. I didn't like the way a housekeeping woman kicked us from the hotel
Pros: - good location, close to the beach - clean apartment - good wifi and airco - nice swimming pool - good value for the money
Cons: - small basic kitchen
Pros: Internet photos of the hotel are miss leading. Very small rooms and pool. Many rules to follow. Cheap furniture. Bad curtains. Little room supplys. Stay here if you like camping. Owner used camera ...

Cons: A little far from the airport $45 for taxi. No stores around to buy food for refrigerator. Limited safe walking distance.
Pros: The towel swan and toilet paper rose were a nice touch. Facilities were nice and the staff were helpful
Cons: I would of liked a couple of tea bags or coffee available
Pros: No a/c in my unit because I booked it on short notice but ceiling fans in every room made my accommodations pretty comfy. Also I like the fact that there is a 24 hour doorman/security guard ...
Cons: The supermarket was about a 10-15 minute walk. That's the only downside. But the supermarket does deliver so there is another 'pro' for this hotel.
Pros: The staff and security was very heplful and pleasant. The location was perfect as far as the beach and going into the city. Tha apt was clean and nicely furnished.i love the fact that they supply all ...
Cons: The bed was a little hard for my back but ill bring a mattress pad next time
Pros: Bright, clean accommodations. Excellent location, just across from the beach. Deliveries possible from the local grocery store and Italian restaurant. Outstanding staff especially Mariano.
Cons: Better fitting bed sheets.
Pros: It was located near the beach
Pros: The place was nice and neat !!!

Apartments at this Colonial property feature conveniences like kitchens, along with balconies and living rooms.
Cons: The wasn't enough amenities for the price paid, they charged for too many things.
Cons: More restaurant reservations, and to put a sign to let us where the restaurant is.
Pros: The food was amazing, the Best food i ever tried in a resort.
Cons: Some servers in the bar didnt Want to prepare some drinks because i am not a foreign person. They should be the same with everyone.
Pros: The staff at the buffets were very nice. The selection of food was great and delicious.
Cons: Front desk could've been a bit nicer. No one smiles and they act as if we were bothing them. Also the towels for pools were bloody and stained. Very nasty and I couldn't exchange them because ...
Pros: Gran Ventana is a lovely place to visit.
Cons: Cleanless, service, facilities, they don't have parking.

Pros: This was my second time staying here and it is 100% better. The rooms are updated and they are really nice, the restaurant was updated and that too was really nice. The food was amazing! We are very well. The entertainment was cute and funny, the whole family enjoyed it. Most of all, the staff were all amazing. Everyone always had a smile on their face and they were always eager to help. We had 13 people and the moved tables, chairs so we could all eat together. They even sang to my sister in law for her birthday. Great place, we'll be back again next year!
Pros: The food was great at the buffet, the room was very nice and comfortable. The staff was very friendly at all times.
Cons: I didn't like that there is no club inside the actual hotel. My boyfriend and I wanted to go dancing and we had to go outside the hotel to get to the nearest club. But overall it was a really good experience, I would go back

Cons: I did tend to avoid the beach at times as the sellers sometimes meant I couldn't concentrate on my reading.

Pros: The buffet was great and the house keeping
Cons: You had to pay extra for top shelf liquor and the harassment from their staff wanting you to sit in on a proposition, for spas and their VIP package. Early check in $35 for room and food or $12 pp ...
Pros: Staff treats you like family.
Pros: The beach and the staff (excluding the lobby)
Cons: lobby staff was not trained, wanted me to pay again for a paid in full reservation because they didn't want to call Kayak to check. "Superior room" was really a good enough to sleep room, the bathroom's tiny shower clogged where, while showering" I had to turn off the water every 5 mins and wait for 10 mins to turn on again, room phone was not functioning, deteriorated facilities, not enough staff, pools were all shallow the deepest I think was 4"9 and this is an adults only resort. The food was D+. I will never go back!
Located in Puerto Plata, this beachfront resort is next to a golf course and within a 10-minute walk of Playa Dorada Golf Club and Playa Dorada. Long Beach and Brugal Rum & Co. are also within 3 mi (5 km).

Cons: As soon as I got there I was told I would not be staying at the crown residence. Instead I was moved to the tropical garden area and was told it was an upgrade, which it wasn't. It was actually a downgrade.I was never told the exact reason for the move.

Pros: The food and drinks were great. The location is nice. I was there during the spring break, so, it was rather crowded but not that bad - you could find a bed on the beach. The stuff was very helpful and friendly. The room itself was quite clean and comfortable.

Cons: The rooms are little old
