Very friendly staff and clean and comfortable room in relationship with price/value no
The breakfast was always very well served, and the hotel's heat was always working. It didnt bother me but the bathroom is really small.
The staff was welcoming and always pleasant. The breakfast was very nice, a large buffet. The room and bed were very comfortable and I slept very well. n/a
Very pleasant, friendly, welcoming staff and owner.Good location. Bathroom rather cramped.
Convenient, delicious breakfast, small, friendly staff, close to town, shopping and tour gude aganecies The desk manager cheated us on our bill. They bill should have been (incl.tax) $181.50 He overcharged us by $126. Then because we had to put it on our creidt card he charged us 12% extra.. We questioned him about the size of the bill but he blamed it all on taxes,-which was a lie. But we were late for a plane and could not argue w/him. He refused to give us an itemized bill. We need for help with this issue. We shall not stop until it is resolved in our favor. We do not like being cheated. It destroys your credibility, and the Rubinsteins who have owned the property for years. We hope to hear back from you in 24 hours.Thank you. Bil & Anne Aulenbach
Very nice hote!!!!!!! Price and service are awesome, and San Carlos de Bariloche is a really amazing place. Bathroom is a little bit small...
The hotel owner was very helpful and his hotel was very cozily done with alpine style and some bits of old aged decorations . He recommended us some nice restaurant too.It is a great place for a short stay on way to lake or the ski mountains.
have a very cozy atmosphere I could not access internet. They have, but I don´t know why I couldn't at that time.
The hotel is manage by a family and they were very friendly and helpful during our stay. They provided all sorts of information about tours, ski schools, restaurants, etc. Hotel installations are very new and with a modern style. We got a room with a very nice view of the lake. Because it is a small hotel (aprox. 8 rooms) you get some noise from neighbors and from water pipes sometimes. But we are very sensible with noise (probably more than average).
Was quiet , maybe too quiet The hotel is far away from bariloche center area, I was forced to rent a car to move around , that cost me $250.00 more.
Attention to detail of staff. We stayed in on of the Cabanas. The standard was excellent. I find it hard to fault anything except maybe the comfort of the benches in the living room and the clothing on the bed may not have been pratical. But these are only small gripes.
The hotel had beautiful grounds with very comfortable rooms with lake views. The staff was very helpful and the food was good. We really enjoyed our stay.
We stayed in the Villa Huinid Hotel (not the Lodge). Nice, spacious, clean room. The hotel is at a quiet location, not too far from the city. Terrace with very nice view at the mountains and over the lake. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Excellent spa facilities and breakfast. The restaurant was not as good as the other facilities of the hotel.
Very helpful and supportive staff, specially Luis. Comfortable and clean rooms. Somehow close to the city centre. There was some noise of refurbishment being done on the apartment above during the day, so we could not take a proper rest. Also, breakfast could have more options. Hotel transfer to city centre and/or to airport would be a plus.
The excursion on the bus. The pillows were hard; our room was right above a busy street; they tarred right in front of our door and there was no way to get out of our room without tromping through the tar; the good hotel restaurant was closed; the pool lounge chairs were hard as rocks; the pool patio was unkempt with weeds growing up through the tiles; no service on the deck. The room next to our "cozy bungalo" was used for storage old junk, which you could see.
the lodge has very small rommes the lodge has very small rooms
the rooms are amazing and the view also spa is very good clean and good prices too many stairs
The staff are very helpfull, the rooms are extremely confortable with very, very, very good beds. That was the best hotel I have stayed in my life! Nothing. That was so good.
Great location Our room had a lake view and was very noisy
I liked the location which it was almost close to the mountains, Shops, Restaurants and cafes. The Gym was not bad. The room was not as i saw in the pictures when i booked it. the breakfast was abit poor and there was no table for me to sit, i just asked a guy to share his table.
Central located, complete breakfast, polite staff Really very noisy. They must change stone corridor floors by carpets as you listen to hard steps the whole night. It is not a 5 star hotel. More crowd and they run out of towels one night/
The location was very handy to everything - I liked yhe cappuchinos and the carrot/apple/nut/celery salad at the little downstairs lounge - our view of the mountains was lovely!! We had a laptop with us and thought the internet should have been free!
Nicely decorated. Good location. Lovely lobby. Gracious staff. Beds were very saggy and uncomfortable. I asked them to put a wooden slats beneath the mattress, which helps a little bit. Slow Internet, which you have to be in the lobby to use
Lovely room and view Having to go so far to the restuarant for breakfast was a bit of a nuisance. We booked a double room but were shown to one with two single beds (ie what we would call a twin room). This appears to be a fairly common "language difference" in South America (no just at Villa Sofia).
Very comfortable room and excellent facilities. Very good value for money. Free tango show in the foyer whilst we were visiting. Excellent breakfast. Free wi-fi in rooms. Staff's English wasn't fantastic but then our Spanish is non-existent! It is a good 10-15 min walk from the centre which is fine except that bariliche has no side walk, we took a cab.
Comfortable room, easy walking distance to town, good lounge area, reasonable price for the standard of accommodation. Smell of cigarette smoke in the bathroom, light coming in through glass panels in and adjacent to the door, frosted glass panels between the bathroom and public walkway.
Nice new modern facilities with vistas of the lakes and mountains. Very spacious rooms. On a busy street, bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Best if you have a car, its a 20 minute uphill walk from town
great furnishings, helpful staff lack of wifi in rooms, lack of comfort at times
Staff very nice and helpfull. Spa very nice. Had a lift which was helpfull with luggage
Great place to stay. Very nice, heplful staff and very good breakfast.
Extremely comfortable mattress. The location .. it´s quite a way out of town.
We loved the location overlooking Lake Nahuel Huapi. They upgraded us to a room with a terrifc view but it was below the restaurant and was very noisey! I thought the staff was not informative and a little argumentative. Pablo stood out for us and helped us plan our day trips best. Overall, it did not feel like 5-Star ammenities and treatment from the staff.
Accommodations were fantastic and the staff even better! We loved our stay at Charming!
The space available complimentary upgrade they offer and the friendly staff...have no qualms about staying there again or, indeed, recommending it The free Internet was erratic, they could use signal boosters for the rooms.
One of the best boutique hotels I have stayed at. Spectacular location, outstanding rooms. The owner,a charming man, leads a dedicated and very helpful staff. They also speak english. Stayed extra 2 nights.
Truly one of the best hotel travel experiences I've ever had. The hotel is beyond charming; quiant, contemporary casitas perched on a hillside overlooking a deep blue lake with breathtaking views of the mountains. The staff were very nice, friendly and went out of thier way to accommodate us.
Dining and local excursions
Extremely comfortable bedroom - lovely decor & quality furniture, bed, etc. Fantastic breakfast. Second best breakfast we had on our honeymoon (best was the Llao Llao). Fantastic value. Lobby and bar lack character but the rest of the hotel is amazing. Hotel is 2/3 kms from Bariloche town but the taxi spin is so cheap - only 2/3 euros.
It was excellent service, clean, good food, beautiful location. Good value for money The Hotel Drive way is terrible. It should be a paved
it was excellent
The hotel and the location None
I particularly liked the location of the hotel, not in the city center butclose enough to walk there. The seeting was very pleasant withlots of trees and flowers and a wonderful view of the lake and surrounding mountains.
The hotel is in a lovely setting with one of the best views in the area of the mountains and lake. It is located just on the outskirts of town and on the road to the mountains. We had a large lake view room which was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The hotel is set on top of a small hill with the hotel's pretty cottages spread out down the hill, then there is the road and then the lake. This was the quietest room we stayed in during our whole holiday in Argentina. The staff were very helpful and taxis arrived very promptly when ordered. We got taxis into town (about 10 mins). There were a lot of families around and the hotel appears very child friendly. We had to queue for breakfast one day. The food in the hotel was a bit disappointing. Service in the bar/restaurant was friendly but very slow. The hotel is modern and smart but it doesn't have the look or atmosphere of a luxury hotel.
this is one of the finest hotels I have ever stayed at. The staff is beyond excellent and helpful this is a 6 star hotel! nolthing
Location is excellent, staff is attentive, definitely great value for your money.
Friendly helpful staff. immaculate rooms with gorgeous views of the lake and mountains. Peaceful tranquil setting. lovely little pool and sauna to relax by. The main town is a 5 minute taxi ride.
The hotel is in a beautiful setting, with amazing views. The staff were helpful and friendly. We had a lovely stay. The hotel is well located but is out of the town. The bus service is good though so if you don't have a car, it's easy to get to Bariloche town centre.
Fantastic situation overlooking lakes and mountains - snow capped Andes. Spacious and luxurious rooms in smart chique hotel
We love the staff, the rooms and the setting. It was wonderful.
The location of La Cascada is very beautiful - on a large lake with snowcapped mountains in the background. The hotel has many common rooms with fantastic views, that are tastefully designed. The guestrooms also have lovely views from attractive alcoves. The dining room serves unusually delicious meals, including local seafood. the breakfast buffet is one of the best I´ve had. The service was outstanding; staff is fluent in English as well as Spanish. The hotel is just a short taxi ride from the heart of Bariloche, a beautiful resort town in upper Patagonia.
Art, room, location, view. No box of tissue in bathroom. Small container with 3 or 4 tissues in little box found on the day we left. Breakfast, bread was poor, fruit poor. One of the staff rude. We waited at least 45 minutes for empandas and a sandwich at lunch one day. Staff at main desk, friendly but not very professional.
The hotel was in an exquisite location on the lake front in a quiet area of Bariloche. It was away from all the school groups who had overrun the streets of the main town. We loved the hotel the staff were really helpful kind and attentive. Most of the staff spoke good English we recommend their spa treatments!
Beautiful setting, nice facilities The hotel is pretty priey; also the "mountain view" rooms are larger than the lake views but have no view
The helpful staff and extraordinary design I think I received a regular room and not a suite with living room and bedroom as was paid for - and I have written to you about it to check with the hotel - I was in room 109
Great hotel. Would stay there again!
Location is great, stuff treat excelent and view beautiful. Restaurant doesnt have a menu to offer and they offer just two dishes, expensive.
The location is something to die for, especially rooms with the lake view. A simple housekeeping request took three separate inquiries to be fulfilled.
The staff was excellent, very helpful. Everyone was very friendly. The breakfast was also very nice. The rooms were plain, but satisfactory. The bar was nice and cozy.
Lake view Horrible restaurant
This hotel is wonderfully situated on the lake. The room was luxurious and well-maintained. The staff are helpful and we would heartfully recommend this hotel to everyone!
The view The service was cold, unhelpful, and we were given incorrect advice on numeruos occasions. Something as simple as booking a hire car - we had organised a booking through in advance - turned into a major drama, as they had booked it for the wrong month. We had to push far too hard for them to make dinner reservations, even when we knew it was holiday season and the restaurants were extremely busy or closed. Also, simple facilities that you would expect at this priced accommodation did not work, for instance the internet.
The hotel reception staff were very helpful. Panoramic views across the lake from the bar were very good. Decor of room was ok and better than common parts. The sauna was not very hot; the swimming pool was under repair; problems with wi-fi access.
Weloved the lakeside pool and sauna. Also nice view from our room. Also lovely bar with complimentary drinks on the first night. There was a funny smell in our room on the bottom floor.
Great location, rooms, views, front desk people, travel agency inside and good breakfast. Thanks to Federico at reservations. There is only 1 person attending the whole restaurant for dinner, lack of service there. Cancelation policies are rude considering that you never know if aerolineas argentinas will fly or not...they cancelled 40% of flights
Fancy venue but very unhelpful staff. And the place was far to hot - it had no air conditioner (and heated bathroom floor so this made the room very hot) Would not recommend this place to any one! The room view and the friendlyness of the waitress's at dinner
This hotel lacks one thing.good breakfast cuisine. The breakfast was the poorest we experienced in South America and the coffee was awful
I loved the spa in the room. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The tourist man was very helpful in arranging a ride to Casis where we had a wonderful, romantic, delicious dinner. WEcappreciated his help. It made the evening so enjoyable. Our driver escorted us to the restaurant, and left his cell number with the staff to be called when we were ready to be picked up. Such excellence we appreciated. Thankyou. I enjoyed my one night stay.
The room was excellent Some staff at reception seemed uninterested although efficient
The view from our room was exactly like the photograph on booking.com it was beautiful you coulld sit there all day and look at the snowcapped mountains.
Everything. It is well located, the architecture is incredible, the restaurant is very good. The lake view from the room and the pool is amazing.
we enjoyed the stay in this modern and very elegant hotel at most and hope for the hotel that more guests will use it. no negative comments to be made
This hotel is all about the views and the suites. The staff was poorly trained in terms of providing good service and the restaurant at the hotel was poor quality.
We stayed in a cabana which was very comfortable and clean and extremely good value for 4 of us. We were able to use the hotel facilities as well. The staff were very helpful.
I did not like the bed very much. Me and my wife expected a matrimonial bed, but the hotel just had two beds together. When come the morning the beds was splited from each other.
We were in fact in an apartment complex close to the main hotel. It was comfortable, clean and offered sufficient facilities to cook meals for 4+. The hotel staff were pleasant and helful. A full breakfast was available at modest cost. The facilities were very good.
The hotel is old but clean. It´s located in the downtown and the staff is friendly. They charged $10 for something that we didn´t consume and they charged $3,5 for each local call did in the reception (to cabs, travel agency, etc). The elevator is small, old and have no conditions to use, all the time is crowded.
The bar was a pleasant place to relax. The waiter was very polite, friendly and attentive with a good knowledge of the wines offered. The female staff, that we asked for advice at reception were very unresponsive and appeared put out, even though we spoke Spanish. It was difficult for one of them to put her mobile phone down in order to answer us. They were not helpful. However the latter crew, who were males, were helpful and in complete contrast to the reception we had received earlier. The hotel gave the impression of being a four star, although underneath it was definitely not. If you want luxury this is not the place to stay. It was a little worn even though the reception and bar would give you a different impression. This is not in keeping with a European four star hotel.
Traveling breakfest, location
Convenient location, good breakfasts and reasonably priced, too. However, it's not a 4-star hotel by any international standard I recognise. Nothing actually wrong but a little tired, no gym/spa, one bar and restaurant.
The day always started well with a great breakfast....and when I arrived back in the afternoon, the room was always cleaned so well. No
The staff are very friendly and speak English, the hotel is in a great location, rooms are very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay! The rooms on the street can be a little noisy
Excellent staff who helped to organize all trips/ excursions in town. Location is bang in the city centre, convinient but lacks the scenery or feel of the country side in bariloche.
the srvice was very correct but did not extend to more than correctness
the staff is excellent and the location is in the heart of the city. Very good place to stay.
An excellent hotel, good location, helpfull staff. solved our little problems (trips, tour) with a big smile WiFi didn't work the first two days. Breakfast was poor
The room and view was lovely, and the location was very accessible. Breakfast was huge and delicious and the spa and pool area were great. It was overall a luxurious experience to stay there and I would definitely recommend it if it´s within budget to spend at least one night here. Because it is out of town and we did not have a car, getting around would have been tough if we had stayed more than 1 or 2 nights. The staff was always very helpful arranging transportation though, and the main bus lines left right in front of the hotel so it was still manageable. Nothing to do with the hotel, just general traveler advice.
Near of the City and the Catedral Cerro Not have GYM
This was one of the most beautiful hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. The large picture window had a view of the lake from the bed. It also had a fireplace and large jacuzzi tub. The bed was comfortable, the room clean and beautifully appointed. The hotel staff was very accomodating and warm. This was a very romantic, honeymoon quality experience. I would recommend it to anyone.
View from my room was spectacular. Open fire added a great touch. Totally not what I expected - name/pictures/star-rating suggested an upmarket venue in a very rural, isolated location. In fact, proved to be one in a hundred on an exceptionally busy road. I'd been slightly worried about dress code as I was on a hiking trip. No need for that - arrived late in the evening and thought I was in some kind of youth hostel... Advertised jacuzzi proved impossible to switch off (no instructions); the pictured view was actually in the other 'panoramic' room. The shower soaked the whole bathroom every time I used it. Having said all that, the view was fab and the breakfast (included) very good.
Thanks to Trip Advisor and Bookings.com comments we found this perfect hotel pick (standard 2 twin beds) for my 20 year old daughter (studying in B.A.) and I as we toured Bariloche for 3 days and needed a centrally located value hotel. We were frankly impressed having stayed at other hotels throughout Argentina and considered Carlos V one of our best. Breakfast and water pressure (floor 2) were both great. Staff was very professional too. Only negatives: Wifi is only available in lobby (which is fine as long as you know that before you book). Also don't expect a view in a standard room. But just go outside for that! Great city.
