Loved staff and decor. Attached restaurant and coffee shop had excellent food and drinks for reasonable prices. Staff there also very nice. Live music, too. Shower was a little weak/hard to get to right temp. But it was cute/antique looking.
rooms were fine, though bathtub was not totally clean! no phone in room, not a big deal if your have a cell phone i guess. bar area was crazy noisy at night and at breakfast.
In addition to a nice room, it had a really good restaurant, and the staff were very accommodating!
A diverse mix of guests, made this feel like a destination. I will being staying here often. Beds could use an upgrade, but it isn't a deal breaker.
Cool, funky decor; large outdoor patio, special events, complimentary massage We should have had a phone in our room to have food delivered to our room, should have had a free continental breakfast option versus the pay for all you can eat on weekends, and room toilet had some issues often.
Great little hotel! Staff was all extremely polite and courteous
The hotel is centrally located and close to many restaurants, parks, and museums.
I loved this hotel. It has the vibe of a bed and breakfast. The building is historic but has been beautifully decorated and remodeled. The staff was very nice and helpful. We took their shuttle to our venue and when we ready to be picked up they were there in minutes to give us a ride back. The room and bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small, but goes in line with the historic feel of the place. I would definitely stay hear again.
It's a neat hotel! Very quaint and inviting. It had a nice pool and outside bar area. I could have stayed out there all night. :) I wasn't a fan of their not being room service. It's not a deal breaker by any means but I would have preferred not to have to go down stairs and place an order, wait for it and then bring it upstairs. Otherwise, no other complaints.
Great location, lovely taproom downstairs with good food, great staff. Very, very spotty internet. Don't know if that was an issue just for our stay or a consistent problem. We weren't working so it wasn't much of an issue for us, but for a business traveler it could be an issue.
Well maintained & tastefully decorated. Staff is personable, helpful & professional. Lovely view of the bay from the 6th floor & great location in general.
This place is a complete joke and a scam. I booked a luxury room with a queen bed and bath. I drove 2 hours from fort Myers and when I arrived there to check in they told me that I was being moved to their "Sister Property" . When we walked up to the "sister property" that was about 5 blocks away it was a house not even a hotel. The room that the lady escorted us to had holes and nails hanging out Where pictures were at some point, the bed was a pull out, A microwave sitting on top of a desk, and she gave me a key to the PUBLIC BATHROOM! And the Ponce De Leon was going to try and charge me the same price that I had originally booked for. I demanded my money back and left instantly.
Very clean. The downtown St. Petersburg location. No free parking: From Friday evening to Monday morning you can find free parking spot near parking meters in a few blocks radius around hotel. Hot water is changing temperature from warm to cold.
The staff was beyond welcoming and so kind, and the location couldn't be more perfect. The room was small but it was the perfect size for what we needed! Loved it! The bed was a little stiff, but definitely nothing worth complaining about. Nothing but good things to say about the Ponce De Leon!
Location is great for the downtown area, waterfront, restaurants & Bars Bare bones minimum. Feels like you're staying in a random apartment. Bring plenty of booze to get liquored up before you go to bed. Just weird. Random decor.
After reading some reviews i was thinking i may have made a mistake. However when i got there i was very pleased yes its an older building and not your typical hotel. If you haven't been to Europe you may think this is different. However it is a typical European style hotel. The location is perfect walking distance to all the bars restaurants. I think it was great. Its a hotel to sleep not to have a vacation. i'd describe it as a clean place to crash with a great location. The night front desk blond lady and another lady are were not friendly and i'd say rude. Very different than the morning lady i think she is Thai. She was very nice compared to these night ladies. Restaurant was price for the food they served.
The location, feel, and decor of the hotel is wonderful, and I love the different options of restaurants. The staff, while friendly, seemed more apt to give excuses rather than solve problems, the hours of operation advertised contradicted the actual hours of each resturant, and although the website claims parking is available, the hotel does not actually have their own parking.
I loved the location. Walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Rooms weren't ready 5 minutes before check in. Older hotel with rooms to match. Small outdated bathrooms.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room is small but nice. The bathroom was also small but good, except the sink has separate spigots for hot and cold.
This hotel is in a great location for anyone that is wanting to go to a Rays game. The parking is confusing and the staff was not very friendly or professional.
Nice size room for a boutique hotel, in a fantastic location on every growing St Pete dt. Farmers market on Saturday is across the street. Outdated bathrooms, and as mentioned the beds were a little uncomfortable. Hallways were a little shabby.
Going in with low expectations is the key to a satifying stay at the Ponce de Leon. More unimproved that the term "Botique" would suggest, this is the destination for the seasoned traveller who has endured rough edges and no amenities for a great location. The desk staff was superb but the housekeeping is the worst with no coffee supply or toiletries restock after check-in and no sheet change in four nights. All in all, it's a great way to be in the best part of downtown, save a few bucks and relive old mempries of the seedier side of that trip to China.
This was our 2nd stay at this Hampton Inn. Amazing hot breakfast! Clean, comfortable room with plenty of counter space. Friendly staff. The pool and hot tub area has beautiful landscaping. I'd recommend staying at this hotel.
The staff was accommodating. Occasional musty smell most likely associated with humid weather.
The lobby. when you first walk it is breathtaking and you feel like yeah I'm fine dining and dropping 140 on a night just to relax ...until you get on the elevator and by that evening the regret sets spending that much money on underwhelming temporary digs 140 bucks I would have expected something a little more upscale. Mold smell, thin walls, Bad lighting . I saw a black fly looking very similar to a full grown bed bug, but I can't confirm. it had the feel of a cheap hotel just with better sheets. I paid 35 more for smoking and when I got there they had no idea of my reservation and I got jolted out of 35 bucks . Thanks Kayak . The front desk was pleasant and professional.
clean, comfortable, good value
The staff was very courteous and friendly, and we enjoyed the daily continental breakfast, which had a wide selection, and included fresh fruits, yogurt and orange juice. The pool is adjacent to the hotel at the front facing the car park, which doesn't give guest much privacy
Shuttle service This was not a great hotel for family visits. Also, we had to pay extra for everything - parking was $16 a night , and for the price of a room it would have been nice to have some form of complimentary breakfast. I guess the more you pay, the more you have to pay. They made a big point of letting us know that the ice was complimentary, which made me laugh because where in this country is it not?
Clean, good location. Can't have a rollaway bed in a room with two double beds. Have to go to front desk for ice!!!
The staff was great. They even comped our parking because it was my husband's birthday. N/A
The location When it stormed I had to park in a bank parking lot around the corner which made it for a very undesirable walk. When I pulled into the bank parking lot the attendant refused to let me park stating he had no idea what I was talking about. 2nd issue. The first front desk woman that checked us in was amazing. So helpful and nice! You could tell she really enjoys her job. The front desk girl who checked us out was horrible. She checked us out on Sunday August 31st. I asked the lady a couple questions about the area and she couldn't answer anything and appeared to not wanted to be bothered. I understand you have a concierge but he wasn't available. Please educate your guests a little about the area. Like recommendation on a nice restaurant. 3rd issue. The room was huge but I stepped in something that was very slimy. It appeared to be maple syrup which was all over the floor. I have stayed there before and had a better experience
There was no hot water the evening we checked in Had to wait until morning to shower
Offered shuttle bus to Tropicana Field to attend baseball game. Helpful staff (especially Edith Odonez) Nothing. Great experience
Location is good, 8min to Pier. The supermarket and some food store is just besides the hotel, very convenient. The room is old,and the staff sometimes forget to change the towel. The dryer is very very dirty, not like a 5 star hotel.
When there was no Sweet N Low in the room for coffee and they ran out downstairs; we let the front desk know and due to housekeeping would have been 20 minutes; the girl from the front desk brought it to our room herself within 5 minutes. Requested pool towel replacement for an evening of swimming and it was fairly busy; housekeeping was out there within 5 minutes stocking up. Really good accommodations. This Hilton goes out of their way to make your stay pleasant! P.S. - Publix and a few restaurants were right in the park, which was an added bonus!
Staff was very welcoming and this had the feeling of a luxury business hotel. We needed a King with a pull out couch, and after a problem with the first room we were upgraded to a Jr. Suite with a separate bedroom. This made the stay very comfortable--I wish we had stayed here more nights. This hotel is tucked in a business park area with not many cars passing by. There isn't much around this hotel, which might be why it felt so quiet.
I loved the view it was very nice. The staff was friendly. The smell of the bay was gross it smelled like a septic or rotten eggs. I know that's not the resorts fault but I don't think I could stay there again is was very over powering.
Restaurant had great food. Very helpful , friendly staff. Room could use a few updates but staff cleaned well.
Location on the water and right off the highway. Facilities are a little run down.
Great to have marina available for our boat. We were there for 3 days and 2 of the 3 mornings we had no hot water. Rooms could be much cleaner and linens didn't feel clean. Stains present on linens.
Age of facility, cleanliness
Location good, staff very helpful. Wifi worked well. The room was very damp and smelled like it hadn't been used in awhile. Blow dryer in room did not work and looked as thought it had burned up way before my stay. No extra blow dryers to use. The restaurant was not open for coffee in the early morning before my departure and, although there was a coffeemaker provided in the room, the coffee was really bitter.
Liked that there was resteraunt onsite Having a group of athletes there taking up jacuzzi
The safe in the room , the frig, I was able to put my medication in it and not worry the rest of my stay. The staff was very cordial. The restaurant on the marina was good and so was the service. Location was easy as well. We will be back. ty :) I would of liked a microwave in the room for a late night snack. (popcorn). Water bottles a little pricey $1.89 each.
The entire staff was extremely accommodating. The restaurant at the hotel was very good and very nice. We loved the view. More elevators would have been helpful for my handicapped mother in law.
Safe and easy to score a room for a last minute booking. Rooms are dark and in the center of a parking lot so they're loud.
Shortly after check-in a maintenance man came in unannounced and started working on the toilet while my wife and I were trying to relax; he kept leaving and coming back because his manager kept calling him away. Two hours later, after he finished the job, it took 3 calls to the front desk to have a staff member come clean up the toilet water, rocks, and whatever else managed to end up on our bathroom floor. Even after someone came to clean, the bathroom was still covered in toilet repair gunk. There were wrappers and cups found in drawers from previous visitors, hair left in the "clean" towels we were issued, and stains all over the blankets. Overall it is the worst experience I have ever had, it was worse than sketchy one-star hotels I have stayed at. The staff was very unprofessional, things should be taken care of before the room is issued out; the place left my wife and I constantly feeling gross, the cleaning people were terrible; and I hated every moment I was there .
The front desk staff was really great. When we found a roach in our room, they bent over backwards to move us. The pools are also very nice. The view of the water was amazing. The fact that I found a roach in my room and had to be moved was inconvenient. Their "beach" was disgusting and very small. It was definitely misleading advertisement. It was covered in seaweed and overall was just not an enjoyable area. The intersection to turn onto the road the road to get to the hotel is very confusing.
Comfy bed, spacious room, abundant breakfast with takeout bag, friendly helpful staff, nice extras--coffee, drinks, and snacks in the lobby throughout the day; printed out google maps. Being able to hear the people in the adjoining room through the connecting doors was the only complaint.
This is hands down the best hotel, for the money. It is absolutely awesome for anything near this price. Trying to think of anything negative and there isn't any. Just go ahead and book it. This is a sure bet.
The room was quite spacious and amazing: we had a kitchenette with a full size refrigerator, a small, glass-top stove, a dishwasher, and a microwave. The TV was set up to swivel around to the living room-type area or to be viewed from the king size bed (which was unfathomably comfortable). The water in the shower stayed a constant temperature the entire time, which is always nice. We're pretty sure we had a wheelchair-accessible room, so that may account for some of the roominess (as well as the hand rails in the bathroom). Breakfast the first day was ham and cheese omelets, sausage patties, and home fries one day, and scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage the next, which is in addition to the usual assortment of breads, bagels, muffins, waffle makers, coffees, teas, yogurts, juices, milk, cereals, etc. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, they do "socials" where they serve complimentary meals, wine, and beer. We only ate there one of the two nights, which was Italian or Polish sausages on buns and hamburgers and a modest salad bar. The pool looked amazing, but we stayed in February during one of the coldest weeks this winter so far, so we didn't use it. The location would have been great if we had been in town for a Tampa Bay Rays game; Tropicana Field is easily within walking distance. Our phone rang at 1:30 AM or so the first night, and no one at reception seemed to know why the next morning. Also, the hotel is U-shaped, and our room was on the far side of the U from reception (minor inconvenience, though). Other than those two minor things, there really isn't much to complain about. I may book a block of rooms here for guests for my wedding.
We loved the free taco bar.
Such great value. Spacious room, beautiful breakfast and friendly staff
Staff was very friendly. Great location. I will definitely stay here again.
Perfect location the staff was outstanding from the valet to the front desk. The lobby hugged me from the time I walked in til the time I left. I would stay again.
The bed was comfortable. One of the best blankets I've encountered. Can't think of anything.
The location is close to restaurants, bars, museum, and colleges. Unfortunately that attracts groups of people that are there to party and stay up all night. After we discovered that our neighbors brought their own stereo with sub-woofer and invited all their friends to hang out in their room, we tried to move rooms. We were not moved and had to call the front desk more than 20 times over the next couple of hours to try and resolve this issue. No luck. The front desk was completely incapable of resolving this issue. I guess 20 year old college students that work at the hotel aren't capable of controlling the behavior of their guests. if you're lucky enough to have quiet neighbors, the hotel is alright. If not, then be prepared for a long night.
My daughter and I recently stayed while she was on break from College. We had an excellent experience. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our accommodations. The valet service was excellent . Loved the bedding. We will return! The bathroom could use a fan. The bathroom sink drained slowly.
Clean super white bedding, free breakfast and walking distance to everything! The $14 valet parking fee!
Beautiful, spacious, and clean Not new & fancy outside.
Adorable hotel in a great location with very helpful and friendly staff. The beds were super comfortable, the bathroom was perfect size, the A/C worked great and wasn't loud at all. For the price, it's a steal! Our stay was perfect. The only thing I that wasn't way above expectations was the water pressure in the shower.

The location and staff Didn't stay long enough to not like anything

Hotel was well maintained. Room was a good size and the location was great. The pool area needs work. For being in Florida I feel if you are going to have a pool area it should be inviting but it looked like no one ever used it. Disappointed.
Hotel employee was quite wonderful. She constantly made sure my needs were taken care of. Outstanding customer service. The bathroom was quite small. Very hard to use the toilet when it's pressed up against the shower. We ended up using the bathrooms in the main lobby.

Great aesthetics and friendly staff The bed wasn't all that comfy and light shined in all around the door. Pillows should be full sized instead of those little ones. We used the pillow shams.
location; Near everything, but just far away enough from the street noise from beach street restaurants and bars. Staff: Friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Is an old building turned into a hotel: rooms are small (uncomfortable for a party of 4). Bathroom is TINY. Beds are okay. BREAKFAST You are better off walking down to Beach street and enjoying a great breakfast outdoors for the same price.
Great location Smells
The location was perfect. The overall cleanliness was completely below standards. I travel 80% of my time. I have NEVER felt so dirty. Theres was stains on the bedding. The shower, was Visibly dirty!! Informed management & the only thing she could say was sorry.
Kind and friendly staff. The place felt like home. Cute breakfast was perfect. Comfortable bed and unique furniture. Can't wait to be back
Friendly Staff. Individual Design, Cosy and Comfy Atmosphere.
great hotel, great welcome the ac in the room was a bit loud
Very good atmosphere, nice and kind staff, breakfast served not on plastic. Interesting design inside, home atmosphere. Loud A/C
loved everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! too bad they dont take small dogs
This hotel was great overall. Nothing super special, but a clean, comfortable, central "home-base" for a vacation stay. The elevators were really sketchy. One was really old and creaky. My boyfriend got stuck in the other one for 20 minutes with sporadic electricity and physical jolting. When he finally made it off, he went to the front desk. They only gave him a neutral statement a la "glad you made it off." No apology, no indication that it would get fixed. He said they didn't even seem surprised by the incident.
ALTHOUGH THE HOTEL WAS PRETTY GOOD THERE WAS SOME QUESTIONABLE AREAS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY OF THE HOLTEL THAT I DID NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE WALKING BY THERE IS SOME GREAT RESTURANTS IN THE AREA BETTER IF YOU DRIVE TO THEM ALSO MY BIGGEST PROBLEM I HAD WITH THIS LOCATION WAS THE FACT THAT THE MANDATORY VALET PARKING ACTUALLY COST YOU EACH NIGHT YOU STAYED THERE THE HOTEL MANAGEMENT MADE NO EFFORT TO MAKE SURE YOU WERE AWARE OF THIS UNTIL YOU GOT YOUR FINAL CHECK OUT BILL WHEN I QUESTIONED THIS I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTICES IN YOUR ROOM AND IN THE LOBBY WHICH WHEN I RECHECKED I FOUND NO NOTICES ANYWHERE SO BE PREPARED FOR A SURPRISE ON YOUR BILL
Very nice location, kindness of the staff
nothing very small room -crap breakfast-total ripoff.
Everything was great. From easy check-in, to the breakfast, to helping us figure out the easiest ways to get where we wanted to go the staff went above and beyond in every respect. Also, the property was absolutely beautiful inside and out and was in a great location.
Overall the stay was nice and we had very little to worry about. To be honest we weren't at the hotel much, but the room and gym were both very clean. Just about everytime we went to the front desk there was no one to be found to help us. We would hear them in the back laughing even after ringing the bell. Once someone would come up to help us, I felt like we were inconveniencing them and didn't feel comfortable asking what I'd wanted or they'd look at my like I had two heads.
Close to the airport. They were quite full when we checked in- so we were told there were only rooms with king beds left- also there were no roll aways. We wee traveling with our children ages 6,5, and 18 months. They brought us extra sheets and pillows to make a bed on the small love seat (not a pull out) but there were no extra blankets. My kids had no where to sleep. Breakfast was mediocre and staff seemed frazzled and confused.
While our stay was great, they didn't know who I was or see my reservation. They saw my email reservation confirmation, but did not see me in their computers at all. They had one last room for us in that specific type of room. We were lucky to get our room. Chris Pearl
Helpful staff, good menu at restaurant Very noisy from the road, the elevator and the AC in room. not a restful night. Pool also small with little seating and windows from the restaurant - no privacy.
Location was convenient, price was great, everything basically worked, bed was comfortable and the linen clean. Floor was dirty, AC was very noisy, everything old and worn (I'm OK with "dated" but this was a little beyond that, furniture had broken bits)
Front attendant was friendly. Old and dingy. Sheets and bed reeked of sweat and filth. Moldy bathroom. Location was horrible with homeless people trying to get rooms. The tv didn't work. We could not stay one minute in the room. We raced back home (3 hrs away) half asleep. This was just a health hazard all around.
The Staff were friendly and nice at check in. The room was roach infested and they never so much as emptied the garbage nor cleaned the bath tub. Not a good experience.
Price was great... Old rooms and noisy area.
There was a huge cockroach in the room and the he room smell like smoke I asked for my money back and I didn't stay the night, they haven't refund me.I want my money back because I did not used the room
Staff was very accommodating and friendly no
They've made improvements on the looks Barking dog next door
It was close to our final destination. Had a nice pool. The grounds had some trash. I was expecting the rooms to be in better condition.
When I left Bugs, cockroaches! Bed bugs that I was told are termites
Location The room was disgusting. Broken lamp shades, broken light fixtures, damp room, sand all over the floor
leaving - location is shady..streetwalkers across from the hotel - parking is fenced in - rooms are filthy

The hotel room was updated. The hotel staff was nice and friendly We were not aware of the party that was being held the night that we checked in. There was kids running up and down the halls all day.
Nice pool Manager is not willing to work with you, and treated me as a post 911 suspect.
The location & pool, that is all. The hotel was filthy and run down. Multiple roaches in our room, crawling on our clothes. Cracked walls with peeling paint. Dirty rag on the floor. Garbage on the ground. Entrance door that slams so hard it would break fingers.

I liked the mini fridge and microwave. On my last, no one came to clean the room.
I liked all of my experience including, but not limited to; housekeeping performance and professionalism, garden and landscaping, pool access, and check in/out process. The only thing I didn't like was how small the fitness center was. It only had 3 machines and for being a newly built hotel, I would have expected more, but maybe it is in the works and I just visited earlier than their construction plans are being finalized.
The facility in need of update but worth updating. We felt safe and since my sister and I are in our 70's that was very important. The staff were all exceptional, desk, housekeeping and maintenance. Very clean and comfortable. A breakfast bar would be great . This facility needs new plumbing and more electrical outlets. I would stay again.
I booked a non-smoking room from you, the rooms are smell so bad, you can test the tobacco inside the room.
