receptionists was very kind. breakfast was awful
The ambience, buffet breakfast was excellent. Roof top bar had a lovely view and still was an intimate place for conversation! Small comment: A curtain/door on shower may help maintenance - floor gets wet easily
Staff was nice and location excellent for dog show "baltic Winner 2010". Parking garage was a huge advantage, but was not too easily accessed from within the hotel (many stairs and doors) The bed was too soft for my taste. I never got the answer regarding the price for a dog, which ended up being quite high (for one dog half room rate...practically the dog costed as much as a person in the room...)
Position is good considering the price. Rooms are a bit small.
nice and modern hotel, about 15Min walk into town, therefore not on the frontier of the loud (partially crowds ;), the design attitude "less can be more" is nicely realized, very nice is that WiFi is available everywhere and can easily be used (no complicated tuning of the computer settings), we enjoyed the hotel that much that we stayed there a second time after traveling through Latvia & Estonia by car. just a tip for the hotel management: the staff within the catering areas (breakfast, bar, restaurant, 11th floor bar) lacks a little enthusiasm and speed.
Albert is great. I like the theme concerning Albert Einstein everywhere with intelligence. Comfort, luxurious, convenient although in budget. Best **** I ever had in such price. Nice restaurant and bar.. Superb! Excellent!
wifi. central. no english channel tv. staff were not overly friendly. charge for late checkout. not enough tourist information and help.
This hotel was the best hotel in all of the Baltics. Very nice, delicious restaurants and excellent view from rooftop bar. Softest beds and air conditioning that you actually control yourself. Very close to Art Nouveau center of Riga.
Location - proximity to Old Town and Art Nouveau area; Einstein theme; lounge bar. A bit fiddly to get to by public transport
Pleasant hotel, nice personal, good breakfeast - located in an interesting aerea of town.
Quiet room, really good breakfast. No complaints. And would definitely stay there again. The housekeeping staff starts pretty early (by 0800 or 0830) so if you're planning on sleeping in, make sure you've put out your "do not disturb" sign. Wifi worked well and was fast enough for me to stream movies. 10-15 minute walk from Old Town. Have already recommended The Albert to several friends who are headed soon to Latvia on adoption trips.
The views from the upper floors, including the 11th floor bar. Breakfast included a good choice of food set in pleasant surroundings of the lounge / restaurant. Modern hotel.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel's location was perfect for our 5 night stay in Riga. We did not need to use public transport, we just wandered to the Old Town and other places. There was nothing about the hotel that we did not like.
Stayed for 11 nights (business) very friendly staff. Location close enough to old Riga to walk. Specially the free wifi in the rooms is great! In the evenings I logged on to the office server and attended all daily mails etc. Super. The breakfast is good but after 10 days the same menu.... (applies only when staying a longer time)
clean rooms, friendly staff small noisy rooms, breakfast buffet was boring, no proper launch or similar which made the hotel very funtional and not so cosy
took long time to check-in
Breakfast was a disappointment.
The location as we needed to get to the arena, the excellent service of the receptionist. rather gloomy impression of the room
Friendly staff; excellent location; lovely, quiet and clean room. -
the staff could have been a bit more friendly and the bar closed very early the food was good and hot but needed more variety
Perfect place to stay & excellent service - we loved it!!
The hotel is an excellent combination of an historic builing but with a modern sylish and cosy interior. Cant fault it. Nothing
Central heating was turned off! Room and bathroom were cold.
staff were very helpful. Room comfortable, clean and warm. Excellent breakfast. close to everything. Evening buffet lacked variety and not very hot. Dining room lacked atmosphere.
Location, public areas Standard room is quite plain and small, but good value
Included dinner, free coffee and fruits in reception noisy street under the window
location, breakfast no lift
Value for money was excellent. Very good hotel for a very good price, near centre.
Good location and quiet. Nice breakfast. Poor furniture and very few facilities in the room. Room not cleaned for 4 days we were there. We had to ask repeatedly for clean towels until we got them. Bathroom drain blocked and bedroom got flooded.
Good location, there are Turkish sauna, stream bath and small gym facilities those are almost always empty – very good for relaxation. Additional advantage is tea/coffee availability during all day. Evening meal (choice is limited, but quality is very good) is also included in the room price and this allows to save some money. Room is maintaining in typical ascetic style. It is fine, but I would prefer to see it better equipped. For car parking you should pay and it is not in close vicinity of the hotel. Overall, I would say: “You get what you pay for, perhaps even more”.
At the beging it looks like a hostel, not a 3* hotel. The way from the street to the reception is terrible. And stressfull. No more time. Even for the half of price!
Wireless internet in the upper rooms (6th floor) - signal was very weak
Comfortable rooms and beds, nice bathroom, free safe parking. Original feeling of old city-building. Breakfast was a bit disappointing. The first impression when you enter the hotel in the staircase and the lift was a bit shabby but the rooms were really nicely renovated.
The staff was friendly and helpful, and the buffet breakfast was excellent. Also, the hotel's central location. Finally, the interior was bright and tasteful, good renovation work. Maybe the blankets could have been thicker. They looked (and felt) like they'd been there at least since the Perestroika. We're not picky, but blankets were the one thing that disappointed us during our otherwise wonderful stay at Laine.
Nice vacarion. All the sightseens are so close. Great polite staff. tasty breakfast. Free internet in the bar.
Great value for money and staff ameinable, even giving us breakfast when we were late. Missed the roaring fire they advertised!
Quiet Hotel, nice Personell, good cleaning, no real complaints Thought i was without warm water the first days, have to let the water run for maybe 10 min before it got warm. rooms a bit worn
Location We ordered a double room and parking. We were given a twin with the words that other rooms do not. I had to swear, as a result we got booked, but the car had to be put on another parking lot. Service personnel estimate is very low. On the morning were asked to fill a thermos with boiling water. We were given a cup to draw water from the boiler and sent to another floor, but the water in the boiler was not there. We are indignant about this. In response to a girl in their own language openly rude to us and asked for water 4 lvl!
close to the old city, nice breakfast
Very comfortable for this price catergory. Very quiet. Very clean. Free use of computers with internet.
Quiet environment with good wi-fi connection. No shopping centres close by.
Friendliness of staff and willingness to solve all your problems
Friendly staff, nice breakfast, good location
It is a really nice Hotel in a quiet area near the old town.
Helpful and service-minded staff. Squeaky floor in room 402.
The staff was very friendly, breakfast was good and the room was comfortable, especially the bed was very good, we slept well.
The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and accomodating and spoke English very well. The hotel was extremely well maintained and located in a blissfully quiet courtyard setting. The breakfast was simple but very nice with great coffee. They even supplied umbrellas for us. We loved it.
Very friendly owner, employees; they all speak English. The rooms are more modern than one expect from the website. At first I didn't like the street where the hotel is, but then I entered the court and the hotel was in the back with a little terrace in front. It was quiet. There were some very good spots in the neighbourhood like a bluesbar, Albert hotel with the lounge bar, 2 blocks further some very nice restaurants and terraces. 2 blocks the other way a nice theater with restaurant and terrace, 1 block further the Reval hotel with its sky bar on the 26 th floor, nearby public transport. I can really recommand this hotel if you want a personal touch. I cab't think of anything.
Friendly staff, affordable, clean facilities, tasty breakfast, decent location. Please stop recommending those cheesy, fake, kitschy Lido chain restaurants to your guests when there are so many other options available in your great city.
The staff was very nice, rooms&hotel very clean, wooden floors, breakfast good, excellent location -> excellent for the prize Rooms didn't hold sound to the hallway at all, and at our stay there were some older couples argueing or keeping a lot of noise every morning.
2 big beds lack of service, they go to the room any other days, no soap or shampoo, onny desinfectant, minimal confort in the bath room. No desk to work, Wireless available but very slow, no othermean of internet connection, no night stand near the bed, minimal decor, but clean. No lift for 5 levels, non comercial street, no front office, customer need to find a little cardboard sign on the door to go one half a stay to reach office, doesn't really look like an hotel but more like an hostel. Breakfast minimal, no real coffe, and bad orange juice, very little choice.
Hotel staff was friendly and could speak English very well. It was also nice to get the map of Riga immediately after coming to town. Besides, the kitchen was useful and nice surprise, however, we didn't use it very much. The hotel room smelled like someone had smoked there, but maybe it is normal. Especially later at home I realized that. After all we were satisfied.
Hotel staff Bathroom
It looked little bit used... We didn't have own bathroom.
The location was good, quite close to old Riga (about 15/20 minutes walk). Breakfast was simple but good as well The room was really noisy and simple, but you can't expect that much of a room in this price range.
The price, the quiet site, the proximity of the center of the city. None for the price
Good room, excellent breakfast included, free wiFi with strong signal and 24 hour reception desk. seemed to be strong smell of sewerage coming from bathroom.
Excellent breakfast, very good price, kitchen It was too cold first time...
It was nice and comfortable place. Well, maybe the breakfast room should have been bigger..
The Mosaic is spartan, yet, bright, clean and very welcoming. The staff was very open and helpful. The location in the Art Nouveau district is better than in the party-centric old town and the price can't be beat. The parking lot is gated and secure. My wife and I have never stayed in a hostel, but this was an affordable option for us. It's in between a full hotel and a the backpacker style hostel that's perfect for budget travelers that want a good place to sleep in a central location. It's not crowded, and definitely not loud and we still had plenty of privacy. Well, the sign for the entrance is a bit small.
