The renovated room and view We were first provided a non renovated room that was not clean, requires a lot of maintenance. Our AC didn't work, ceiling and the mirror lights didn't work. On the 2nd day we informed the desk while heading out in the morning. The issues were not rectified upon our return. We called again prior to leaving for dinner. Upon our return, we noticed the lights were fixed but the AC didn't work all night. Neither was any follow through from the hotel regarding the issues. No follow up call to the room to check on us. Not a luxury service. On the 3rd morning I called and asked for the manager and the AFOM said she would upgrade to renovated room and waive the $40 upcharge as if it was a favor. We had not slept the night before and gladly accepted the offer.
Location Polite staff Clogged bathtub Dirty shelf in the closet
All staff was very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with.
the decor and rooms and grand setting. staff were also extremely friendly and helpful, almost embarrassingly so. All in all, a very pleasant and enjoyment stay for my wife on her birthday. high price of internet access. food was also very expensive.
The location in Old Town can't be beat. The staff was very helpful in suggesting & reserving dinner. Handled room issue with free upgrade when I didn't accept lesser room. First impressions: a disaster! Tried to give us a double bed for our king reservation. Two of the three elevators were down. Took an hour for bags to make up to room. No towels in room when we arrived. The white wine had been used & filled with water!
Beautiful hotel, friendly and super accommodating staff. Wish we had more time to use the pool and to relax at the lounge area by the pool. It is close o all. We will go back again. Parking is pricy. We got complimentary water the first day and then no more afterwards. Water is $8 a bottle in the room! Lobby could use some updating.
The hotel staff is very professional and helpful, and location is close to most travel attractions. It's a landmark hotel with signifiant history. None
Staying in a historic building in a great city. Didn't touch the car for 4 days. Great dining both in and around the hotel at a number of spots. Unbelievable views. Only that I didn't plan on a longer stay.
Wonderful location, elegant hotel with great view and nice bar. No concierge available much of the time. Elevator not always operating.
Location, architecture, overall experience, elegance, staff readiness to please, convenience Phones in the room didn't work, dental kit took too long to get delivered,
Well kept facility and competent staff. Great location. Would come again. But . . . you run a luxury hotel. And then you do a Motel 6 maneuver and charge people for WiFi in their room. I would expect this from an American airline company (the worst customer service businesses on the planet), but not from a top-end hotel chain.
The location was fantastic. The pool area and terrace. The architecture and history of the building. Staff was wonderful. Crowded, expensive, no wifi, average room.
The hotel was located in the center of the old city of Quebec. All activities were within walking distance.
Central location to explore Old Quebec. Rustic decor in keeping with the historical location. Car became inaccessible due to valet parking off-site, although totally understandable in view of location of hotel in the heart of the old city.
Location great! Room cozy and romantic - loved the stain glass. Helpful staff. Great time :)
Good place to tour Quebec, visit to the Citadel, River Cruise Great walking in old town ,loved the Buskers very enteraining Breafast arrangments , we were given breafast tokens to use at hotel around corner at sister hotel, service was shocking first day ok second day waited 50 minutes for breafast then left without receiving breafast complained to hotel arcadia lots of sympathy however no consolation prize and no rebate off the bill we ate at our own choice of venue for the rest of stay.
Location, very comfortable room No
The location Very comfortable bed
Great location in old Quebec, older style but room neat and tidy. Very helpful staff made the stay great.
Location of the hotel, as most attractions, sites where within walking distance. The actual hotel atmosphere romantic historic.
Hotel Acadia is well situated near all restaurants and activities in old Quebec City. It is very quaint and reasonably priced. We were able to drive to this hotel and leave our car with the attendant for a small fee. We especially enjoyed the French cuisine in nearby restaurants.
good location within easy walking distance of all the city attractions A very small room for the money. Our companions were in a room below grade with a window that could not be opened; they felt it was quite stuffy and claustrophobic.
We enjoyed this hotel,as it is very central to everything. The room we had was very nice, including all comforts that go with it. We definetly would go back in a flash NOT REALLY
The hotel staff was very courteous and helpful. I especially appreciated the gentleman at the front desk upon our check-in who graciously changed our room to better accommodate our needs!
Rooms were very new and modern and they have free coffee, expresso, cappucino, water, fruits for 24 hours in the lobby.
Staff was superb and an excellent location Room was small and breakfast so so.
It's size. Very homey, cute and cozy. Close to where we wanted to be. Tv reception could have been better.
Maintainance work (hammering and drilling) in the room next to mine started at 8am... very very annoying.
It's location and warm reception No view to the river
comfortable and conventient, nice and friendly staff
excellent breakfast and the location nothing, it was perfect
Very nice and quiet hotel in the heart of Quebec City. The luxury room we stayed in was very nice and at $204/night was well worth it. It was decorated with class and good taste. The staff was pleasant and helpfull. Very enjoyable ... I recommend it to everyone. Nothing major!
The staff were very nice and the hotel was very clean. Walls are thin, sometimes you can hear the person in the next room snoring.
Helpful staff and great location in Old Quebec
The location was exdcellent which is why we picked it. Very nice also. None
The location of this hotel is excellent and the decor was very nice. The window in our room looked right out over a busy downtown street and the street noise at night was hard to sleep through.
The free spa, onsite massage facility for couples and the breakfast coupons and location adjacent to the hotel, free wifi was very helpful. All staff were friendly and eager to help wonderful experience
great location for the great price. The breakfast was great as well. There is no elevators
The location in old Quebec City was excellent. There are quite a few stairs and I would recommed that you let people know there is no elevator. Our room was on the top floor (4th) and there were 50 stairs up to the room and elderly clients had difficulty with the amount of stairs. We could hear talking and doors closing during the night. Also, the main reception is in the Hotel Acadia and when we arrived at the Hotel Louisbourg the door was locked and we had no idea where to check in.
The location is great as well as room cleaness. The room temperture is too cold, eventhough we asked to stop the air conditioner, still was on till we leave the hotel. (Stayed 2 nights) No shampoo in the hotel, the password to use wi-fi was wrong.
Nice, modern rooms in Old Quebec with classic/euro feel. Great central location only a few minutes walk from Old Port, Citadelle, and lively parts just west of Old Town.
Charming rooms with lots of character. Solid breakfast. You need to check-in at another location. Not great if you are coming with a lot of bags or in the cold. A heads up about this would be nice.
Location,Location,Location. Hotel staff was very accomodating Bed seamed awfully for two people
Location was excellent. Do have to go to another hotel to check in which was a minor inconvenience.
Quiet and safe. Charming victorian decor. Bedrooms are large with small private bathroom. Location is very convenient if you are sightseeing in Old Quebec (less than 3 blocks from Chateau Frontenac, the views from Dufferin Terrace and the Plains of Abraham). The continental breakfast is unappealling. If you are there more than one night, I believe you will find another place for morning coffee and/or breakfast. You can also bring your own breakfast: the rooms have refrigerators.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is great. It's in the old town but on a quiet street.
Location, and antique decoration.
It was quintessentially French with all the querkiness that this entails. The position to experience Quebec City was excellent and parking was readily available. The room was furnished with antiques and madame spoke far more English than we spoke French. Language was not a problem. For obese people, the steep stairs would be a disaster, even thought there was a convenient luggage lift.
We like the quite, home-like atmosphere of this B&B, and the host is vey nice.
Quiet, comfortable, not so close to noisy restaurants but the area was not buzzing. Easy walks around Quebec City though. Breakfast good. No coffee sachets in room. Tea offered.
Proximity to old Quebec, warmth and comfort, history. nothing
Wonderful antique furnishings and old world style with modern comforts and very good service. Very well placed to reach all the main sights in Quebec City. Car parking arranged thank goodness!
Close to historical sites Services listed at the hotel booklet were not available. Staff refused to let us use elevator in the morning to take my suitcases from the third floor downstairs. Staircase is very steep and norrow and taking our laggage downstairs cold have resulted in injuries. Also breakfast very poor, we prefered to eat breakfast outside of the hotel. We did not get our money worth.
Great location for sightseeing before our cruise. Loved the hotel -- it had a European boutique hotel feel -- and the staff were very personable and friendly (and spoke English well). Large bathroom en suite with shower/tub. The Breakfast, included in the price, was a very nice treat. They very agreeably allowed us to leave our luggage there for a few hours so we could continue sightseeing after we checked out. Definitely excellent value.
The owner and staff were so nice helping us with restaurants. The location was perfect to walk everywhere. The hotel was delighful. Nothing, everything was great.
location, price, cleanliness, friendly staff, quiet, all in all a great experience! Only inconvenience.....not enough coffee supplied in room.
The atmosphere was great - the decor reflecting a French impression. I would have like to see a better continental breakfast ie more than orange juice, coffee and a small muffin.
Very pleasant room, cozy, in a nice location in the old city of Quebec. The owners were friendly and informative.
The location of this hotel is very good. Easy access to the Chateau Frontenac, the Plains of Abraham. Easy access to parking with unlimited exit privileges at no extra cost. Very calm and quiet. Feels like you're staying with family.
The owners and proximity to the old city. The bed was uncomfortable.
Location is great, right in the old city across from the Esplanade park (even numbered rooms look out to the park), easy walking to all of the main attractions.. Staff bends over backward to be helpful. Breakfast included, basic but all the necessities. Electric fireplace in room. Convenient key-less access. Parking in back of hotel (albeit limited to just 4 cars, first come, first served). This applies to our room, but maybe not entire hotel: Tiny bathroom with sliding door that provided little privacy. No closet, just a rack to hang clothes next to bed. Didn't matter to me, but limited tv channel selection might bother some.
We had car problems while outside of Quebec city that forced us to stay an additional (unexpected) day and the hotel moved our things from one room to another to accommodate us. They took the time to put everything in the exact same spot it was in the our previous room! We were impressed! No elevator would be a problem for handicapped.
Enjoyed it. Concierge was very helpful.
Walking distance to all the historical sites, great sightseeing location. Historical building tastefully decorated & well kept.
Cleanliness of room, attention to details, parking facilities and quiet at night. N/A
This is a wonderful quaint hotel in the perfect location in Quebec City. We couldn't have been happier there, the staff and breakfast was perect. We loved everything, but I could see if you had any physical handicap you could not manage the stairs up to your room with no elevator.
Location, location, location. Deep in the Old City a block away from the Frontenac and the funicular down to Petit Champlain, this alone makes this Auberge a tremendous value. We booked a double, expecting a two bed room. What we got when we arrived was a double bed and a roll away (which felt like a medieval torture device). We lodged our concern with the front desk who indicated that they have no true double rooms and by the way, we owe them $20/night for the additional bed. The conversation that followed was tense, though eventually we landed on a compromise, where the proprietor agreed to revise the hotel listing and we paid a reduced fee. The lesson as always is read the fine print.
Location No street view from the window.
Location was excellent. We were in between the fort and the boardwalk at the Hotel Frontenac. Couldn't control heat and had to open windows. This made for a noisy night.
Perfect location for Old Quebec. All within easy walking distance. Very convenient Parking was kind of far away
Perfect location if you're in Quebec to explore the Old City. The room was simple and clean. Spacious, clean bathroom (room 7). The staff was friendly and helpful. My one complaint is that we were charged extra because our 2 kids occupied the room with us- a policy that I know is not particularily uncommon but one that I don't understand.
In the heart of Old Quebec is this boutique rooming house (we think)converted into a hotel that was everything we wanted. Fridge, micro wave, a/c and step outside into history. Comfy bed, quiet, looks out onto the street. Be careful if you have difficulty climbing stairs. Also remember that this is OLD Quebec so things are rather quaint. the alarm went off at 5:30 am and again at 6:10 - apparently set off by a moth in the gift shop below that doubles as a check in lobby.
Very good location. It was clean. Had a fridge and u were able to control your own heat. A couple tiles were missing in the bathroom floor and the beds were older.
I liked it was in the heart of all things, I liked the friendliness & the room was nicely clean. I wasn't happy to walk 3 flights of stairs with luggage & I admit, I worried the bed spreads were old & maybe not cleaned, but the bedding was clean, the room was clean & my guess is, they do as best they can. It does need updating, things are tilting.
great location, owner should renovate hotel rooms, it has a lot of potential but furnishings need to be updated...this was reflected in the reasonable price though (to be fair)
