The staff had no clue about the neighbourhood.
I chose this hotel as it had a car-park, but it was out of order - I had to spend up to 30 minutes driving around the local area to find street parking
good too far from center
very friendly, clean and modern; good swimming-pool
Close to metro. Dinner in La Butte aux cailles area 10 minutes walking. We woulöd recommend this hotel for sure.
This hotel shouldn't be in the 4 stars class. It is just a good 3 stars one.Cet hôtel ne mérite pas un classement 4 étoiles. C'est juste un bon hôtel 3 étoiles.
Easy to get to No
The cable internet is free and the room is clear. the swimming poor is there. all the single room are with no bath tub. Unless we upgrade the room or more than 2 people stay there, we cannot use the bath tub.
the location and staff were excellent, however the shower was rather schizophrenic and went from cold to hot consistently.
Nothing Everything, bad service ,very bad service
It is quite handy for Place d'Italie metro and in an area that has sufficient cafes and bars ready to hand. Area is generally quiet and I got a good night's sleep, unlike the two night's I had in Montmartre. Didn't have time to check out bereakfast or the rest of the hotel facilities. I had a ground floor room, which was functional but a little dark. I suspect they are not the hotel's best rooms, but as a single traveller staying one night I wouldn't expect to get one of those.
Excellent location, service, comfort ... everything was excellent Everything was excellent
city location is very nice (Butte de Caille) blutch on carpet
Nice interior. Friendly personal in the reception. Nice fairly simple hotel. Good value for its price. Not so generous breakfast. Somewhat stained wall to wall carpeting in rooms. Beds too firm. Street noicy at night, rooms toward the yard nice and quite.
location was good, close to the metro we had the room next to the lift and especially the Saturday night it seemed to run all night and was too noisy for us.
friendly staff, clean sheets and towels, nice shower, warm room, good bed with firm mattress. Good access to friendly residential neighborhood and good restaurants
Location was nice and quiet with many restaurants in the area. Bedroom was shabby, old fitted stained carpet and broken cupboard door. telephone ancient, bot convinced alarm system worked. Upstairs in total contrast to nice, modern, airy, entrance hall.
Very good value.. Nice rooms -- clean and modern. - wifi did not work in the rooms. Location is a little off [although this has some advantage Breakfast was a little expensive [and I might add the buffet was not clean. I saw a nig fly and that cut my appetite - I would not recommend having breakfast here.]
nice clean room! near to lots of restaurants.. and easy to get to main attractions.. no parking, and hard to find it!
I did not enjoy anything. Room are very small and the pictures on the website do not reflect reallity. Outdated rooms, minimal equipment, small and old bathrooms, no WiFi.
The location is an excellent experience for seeing some of the real Paris instead of the tourist traps. The hotel is on a backstreet strip of local restaurants and bars that were lively, great food and good value for money. Hotel staff were very helpful and breakfast is good. We stayed there based on price and location. The price was only just ok but when we got to our rooms, we wondered why we didn't spend more money. The rooms are old, dumpy and tiny. I spent the same money in Montparnasse last year and had another tiny room, but it was a new renovation and very comfortable (Hotel Rive Gauch Chaplain)
The staff were excellent, as was the location, just round the corner from Campo Formio Metro (Buy a Paris Visite card from CDG, works out about £9 per day, definitely worth it). room was small, but as many people have said, this is the norm in Paris.
The room was very welcoming
I liked the location, the hotel is situated in quiet part of paris. It is very near the metro station.
1930's art deco decoration. Art deco bathroom and sink.
It's well connected and close to the centre. The style is quite interesting. They must have some problems with shower soaps, it was a problem to get two instead of one each day-The room was not so big, but it's very common in Paris.
Clean, comfortable hotel very close to metro staion Bedrooms were a bit small
The bathroom was nice, and the room was reasonable. Breakfast was quite good with a fair amount of choice. Although, the hot food was cooked in large batches. This was fine since we got up early for breakfast, but might have been nasty if you got up a bit later. The hotel was very close to a metro station. The room smelled of smoke, although that was partially my fault because I did forget to ask for a non smoking room. The walls were quite thin, and I could hear a child crying during the night in a room nearby. The neighbourhood also seemed a little bit dodgy, with homeless people sleeping on the street corner. We also got charged for a drink from the minibar. I think this might have been because we kept some drinks we bought ourselves in the fridge. So check your bill carefully when you check out.
Staff was helpful and friendly. There wasn't even hand soap in the hotel room not to mention shower gel, toothpaste, shampoo and conditioner. For the price we paid (110€) for one night I would expect things mentioned above.
I like the cozy and unique feel of the hotel.
Nice room. Good breakfast. Near metro.
Nice, slightly more secluded area - but still in walking distance to everything. The room facilities were a little too basic - didn't feel 4 star to me. Not even a telly in the rooms, which was bit of a disappointment (as was also raining a lot while was there!).
The luggage keeping protected space, the very big and comfortable bed once in the room, the sound isolation which makes the room calm to go back in comparison with wild Paris and the free services such as Internet and powerful hair dryer. I must also mention availability and friendliness of the staff, would it be late at night or early in the morning. No negative points to declare. That was functional, comfortable and clean.
Excellent location, hotel staff and cleanliness of the rooms Breakfast too expensive and small bedrooms
The location: really close to a metro station, cleanliness of the room, nice staff. The breakfast is good (buffet), free internet access.
good location to chinatown
It's clean, comfortable, close to public transport, plenty of places to eat. I felt safe as a solo female traveler. I didn't like the ridiculous pricing for the internet use. Thankfully, there's a library a block away (next to KFC) which provide internet for free. The room is small and doesn't have a lot of space for clothing. I only stayed for 1 night with 1 small luggage, so it wasn't a problem for me. But it might if you stay longer.
Excellent quality of rooms for a food price, at an outstanding location. Quiet and convenient.
Cheap hotel ,clean, friendly staff. Realllyyyy smallll rooommmm but if your a tourist juat need a place to shower and sleep it is a good hotel for you. A lot of bums near metro asking for $$$
Close to metro Palace'd Italia, shopping mall and restaurants, good value for money. Tidy and comfortable room. Good internet connection. Good luggage depositing service. The shower in the washing room is higher than the room floor, so the water is very easy to drain the carpet. I have to put tower near the door to absorb the water. There is also no hair dryer in the room, we have to borrow the hair dryer at reception and return it back.
Very convenience for Metro, good location. One thing I like the best is free computer network
its location; hospitality and simplicity lift operation, one has to swipe card many times to get the lift working
Cleanliness and friendliness of staff No bath towels; Very small rooms
The staff was very nice, the location of the hotel was good The internet didn't work, the shower was very small, but the internet not working was huge
Very quiet, clear. Very closed to the Latin Quarter (where I worked). Personel did not understand English. Last day after leaving the hotel, it was not possible to leave our luggage there for some hours.
Nothing special to mention. I rented a "twin bedroom" and got only a "twin bed" in a single room. In addition, we had problems like: the hot water system worked kind of intermitently, the tv reception was bad, some of the personel was clearly not willing to offer help, the quality of the breakfast was not satisfactory.
Adequate small hotel with good location and connections to the city centrum. The contineltal breakfast, which was advertised wia internet on the www- side of the hotel, was quite poor.
the room was very small, and cheap. But if you value location most of all and the price is low enouth it worth to stay in this hotel
Near to metro station. Breakfast was a disaster. The spoon and fork was very very dirty. After the first bad experience we ate outside for our whole trip. Room was narrow but clean.
Only the location Almost everything
Location, cheap, close to metro, free internet access, friendly staff, They change my towels when left them on a bed but after 3rd day there was not replace ones. But I was`t to bother ask for another towels as I had spare pillows and towels with me.
Organized a car to help me back to my next location. Very very helpful for getting taxis or bringing you somewhere No internet as promised, only at certain hours of the day. And the staff where not helpful at all at this point, in fact, pretty rude, claiming it's not their problem.
we had a welcome with a smile, received the info we asked for at the reception, nice breakfast. no complaints
The decor was nice. My room was small...the washroom is impossibly small. Try to stay away from the 01 rooms.
Staff friendly,competent and helpful
Quiet room without noise. The wash roomwas very small
staff kindness rooms and furniture are not the way they look in the website
the friendly staff. the location. the cleanliness. the rooms and bathrooms are way too small.
Nice an clean. English speaking staff. Good location. Quiet.
Clean room, friendly staff, although slightly out of the centre it is close to excellent transport links. Local area Butte-aux-cailles is within walking distance and a great place for restaurants and bars The room was extremely small
cleanliness of the room, room was enough warm refrigerator in the room forr the same price
Clean room and nice staff internet (cable) connection in the room didn't wortk
reasonable quality room. Very agressive and unhelpful staff. We left as quickly as possible.
Everything was great as the last time we stayed there. The hotel is very good, cheap and in an excellent location near metro, commercial center, restaurants, etc. We intend to stay there every time we visit Paris Well as it was last time, the only minus is that there is no fridge in the rooms. It would be great if they could add one
The distance of all center locations is excellent the room is small
Value for money + Tea and coffee in the room
1 night A lot of noise, the rooms are not at all isolated, every little sound in another room is perceived.
The essential things were there: clean sheets and towels, boiling cup-tea and coffee in the room, good location, good price value. Some old and "dusty" finishes in the room; no vegetables and omelet at breakfast.
rooms are nice and clean breakfast was poor
Friendly staff and easy access to Metro Room size a little small for 2 sharing
it is a economy solution for people to fund a small hotel near to town. its clean and it is in a very peacefull neighborhood
quiet room, friendly and uncomplicated staff
Small but comfortable rooms and located near Place d'Italie metro station. If your busy or just want some quiet time they will serve breakfast in your room.
- So noisy There was no air condition. for small entrance
Location was good - easy to get to everywhere in the city. Staff was helpful. Breakfast bettet than expected. Room was a little small, but no more than most hotels of that category in Europe.
Good location. Very close to Place D'Italie station Too close to metro station? You can feel the tremble as the train passes
The hotel is close (3-5 km) to a lot of turistic attractions. The room where we have stayed was big enough for 2 persons. The restaurants from the latin cartier are fair in prices. The noise, the thin walls, small bathroom
Excellent location and affordable price. -
Old (read classic) building, so not much room. Room was clean and hotelstaff was friendly (didn't need a lot of service though). Breakfast was like everywhere in Paris, not big but just enough. I wouldn't go their with a girl or a family (not a romantic kind of hotel), but for a quick (business-like) visit it's fine.
close to metro and to the places we wanted to visit,,,would stay there again night clerk @ 3 am was rude
Very Near to Metro Station Lift was too small
Room and bathroom facilities after renovation. Staff helpful and friendly. Nice neighbourhood. Good for using different metro lines for railway stations and city trips. Breakfast rather poor and sometimes being served quite slow. Metro trains passing every two minutes under the house, though not really much noisy or disturbing.
great location so close to the metro stop, great value for the money, staff behind the desk very friendly and helpful (spoke english), clean room and bathroom. walls were very thin, we were woken up in the morning by the people in the next room (though all they were doing was talking normally) and the maids in the hallway
The staff of the hotel was very kind and very friendly. Even the reception boy tried to speak our native language - Bulgarian.
Excellent value for money and a brilliant location for central Paris Noise was an issue, we could hear the people in the next room talking "word for word"; hear them shower or hear their tv when it was on. Didn't spend much time at the hotel so this wasn't a major problem for us.
helpful staff, very charming rooms needs to be renovated
The view (room 608) over the nearby buildings/city was excellent/beautiful. Extra shelfs in the room (608) next to the wardrope. More hangers in the bathroom to put soap/shampoo. It can't be that expensive to put these up. Then there is a lot of noise when people walk through doors in the corridor. Try to damp the doors and make them not slam into lock. Put up signs asking/urging to be quite after 10pm or so. Otherwise it was a good experience. :-)
It was clean, in a nice location, and was reasonably priced Both the sink and shower drains were partially clogged, and drained very slowly. The staff was pleasant, but not particularly friendly. And the parking cost 20€, not 15 as stated on the web site. When I asked at the front desk about this, they said they had nothing to do with the parking, which was run by a separate company.
Bedroom and associated facilities. Convenient location. Quality of breakfast was fairly poor.
Free TV, Good Air Condition, Comfortable Bed, Clean Bath, Calm neighbourhood, easy metro access. The walls are so thin so you can hear the voice of people speaking in the next room and their TV sound. There is only one small elevator with capacity of three person, it is pretty busy in the morning, It tooks 10 min to find the elevator free to carrying your lugages in breakfast time.
Hotel staff was very helpfull, they all spoke English. Metro station was really nearby. Location of the hotel is excellent, I liked Butte aux Cailles very much! The room was comfortable and clean, but blankets were pretty old and looked used for 1000 times. There was no refridgerator in the room.
Nice location, minutes from the Butte aux Cailles, and its restaurants. Not far from subway stations. Very quiet. Expensive breakfast (10 euros). I did not have it.
Good location Small room, but then this is normal for Paris
Nice hotel for the price paid, near to quartier latin Missing sat tv
It was exactly as I expected. Good value, well situated. Too many tables squeezed in the breakfast area
I had one of the larger rooms in the hotel with separate toilet. Room/bathroom was recently redecorated. Very nice and luxe. Good bed Difficult to find a parking place (I was advised to reserve parking place upon booking the room which I did, but this was not arranged when I arrived). Even in November very warm room but fortunately two opsite windows to cool it quickly.
Staff were excellent. Hotel was well situated for a walking city tour of the tourist sites in Paris. Lots of restaurants near by with a variety of menus. We enjoyed this boutique hotel that offerred an affordable experience we were looking for in Paris.
staff was really nice room was too small by far. i went there because on the website was the only hotel that had a triple. The triple was extremely small
Location near metro in a nice neigberhood The size of the room
Very pleasant staff, good breakfast, room was quiet with the windows closed, loved my view from the 6th floor facing Blvd St. Marcel and the Pantheon
Great location right next to Gobelins metro station within walking distance of some lovely restuarants in the latin quarter, reasonably priced and comfortable rooms. The breakfast room is tiny! For a hotel with 75 rooms it really isn't adequate. It's self service with all your typical continental breakfast fare but having to squeeze in round the others tables and others diners is really not a great experience. And if you happen to be put in the window seat be prepared for a long wait to escape if they seat a party of four 3 inches away from you blocking your exit! Luckily there are lots of great cafes a stones throw away so this really shouldn't put you off staying there!
The hotel is situated in a calm and nice area and still only 20 minutes walk to the center of Paris . The hotel is nice and clean - good breakfast and friendly staff.
Room was too small with a child.
Silence Lack of free of charge WiFi internet access
We visited Paris with our baby daughter. The staff prepared a babycot in the room and all was waiting perfectly arranged. We even received a bigger room than booked so a big THANK YOU for the staff. Room was clean and well arranged. The location is perfect for those planning sightseeing; it is very close to the Metro and all locations can easily be reached. Breakfast was OK, in the dining room there was even a babychair. Before choosing a hotel we read many reviews and decided to take this one. This hotel was a perfect choice and if coming again to Paris we would like to stay there again.
Good connection to the city centre. Hotel stuff were polite and helpfull.
The room and bathroom
Friendly English speaking staff - made it easy to communicate and when my phone was misplaced which eventually was delivered back by cab driver the people at reception were very available for any assistance - great stay - limited breakfast, bit far from my work center but overall absolutely no complaints
Friendly staff, spacious room.Very clean.
Lovely large modern room in good condition. Adequate breakfast but not lavish. The bathroom needs redecorating and painting.
The room was well presented clean and a good size although the shower room was on the small side. It was excellent value for money The only negative was that the shower room was quite small.
In a very quiet area of Paris, close to several Metro stations. Excellent location for meeting and sharing with the natives very high cost of internet services. Our next hotel, in Madrid, charged 1/4 the cost for the same amount of time.
Reasonable cost and city access
We liked the look and feel of the hotel rooms and funky doors, the beds were comfortable and the provision of an empty fridge was great for storing snacks and water for our 5 year old. Free WiFi is fantastic too. The hotel is situated right opposite the Quai de la Gare Metro stop and is a 10 minute walk from Gare d' Austerlitz and Gare de Lyon, so very convenient for our arrival and departure from the two stations respectively.
The breakfast staff! It was a pity that we had not been informed that the "close distance to metro station" was not applicable when we were there: two months closed for servicing. The bar that had been advertized was closed due to shortage of staff.
convenient place for transit traveling, nice room if bathroom were cleaned more carefully, the bathroom would not need repairing longer
Very helpful and courteous staff. The room was big and clean, with (just about) a view of the Seine.
It is nice location, but refregerator was broken or very low, and t
The room was quite big The staff members were not so cooperative
the rooms were newly renovated... safe was fair. but when we can't get a ticket to leave and tried to extand our stay they doubled our room rate and it's not even during the high season!
My siblings and I stayed in a triple room. The room was clean, updated, and good-sized, and the bathroom was one of the best I've seen in a hotel. It was the best place we stayed on our Europe trip.
The location which was outside the metro station. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast was very good. The rooms were nicely decorated.
location to underground
The hotel was well placed for getting around Paris. The rooms were rather small.
Central to Metro and easy reach of centres of interest Disappointing bathroom with bath and not proper separate shower, and leaking plug not allowing basin to hold water for washibng or shaving.
Free wifi in room and helpful reception staff who were patient with my French language skills. There were lots of choice for restaurants nearby, Good area, and very close to a Metro stop. I thought it was rather overpriced, but maybe that's Paris for you.
Well situated. I got a smoking room and eventually all my clothes were smelling bad.
Very small rooms (but this is Paris); no lobby or cafeteria; price is too expensive for what it offers but if you manage to get a special offer, it's worth it.
Good location for good price No parking space
Staff were pleasant, helpful and very tolerant of my attempts to speak french! Noise of traffic outside and waterproof sheet on bed!!
Friendly, unobtrusive staff who actually seemed pleased to see you! Plastic undersheet on bed! Being polite, we didn't say anything about it though.
Staff were friendly, the hotel clean and comfortable, in a very easy central location. Main reason we chose it was that it had a room available at short notice in high season
It's really nice for the staff. I arrived at the hotel in the morning and get the room immediately although before 12 am, the check-in time.
Very clean No tea/coffee making facilities in room Very small for a double room Breakfast at 05:30 was not available (early flight meant this was a criteria)
Close located to Notre Dame Too Limited in parking spaces
The room was cosi and adequate- Mony point of view-
very near the subway. the room is clean. no hair dryer in the bathroom. should provide free W-LAN.
Near Metro station and busstops We were given incorrect directions to the hotel - it said choose either Italie or Tolbiac Metro stop but is is past the Tolbiac stop so when we got off at the Italie stop it was a very long walk dragging luggage. In the very small room there was only one threadbare towel per person! Very minimalist breakfast.
The hotel room was clean and they changed the towels every day despite it is a 2* hotel. Tall or overweighted persons could face small issue (as for the most of hotels in Paris): the toilet seat was positioned in a niche that was a little bit narrow.
close to china town and subway station. the rooms are small and no hair dryer.
close to mestro station and not far from Orly airport that i had to get flight to Rome
Location was good. Room was clean, with basic facilities. Good to stay when traveling. The room was too small and cold. I went there before but the rooms I got were much bigger. I guess this time I had bad luck.
Room was suitable for a city break.
It was near the metro station!!!Just perfect for one who wants to visit Paris!!
It was very clean and the decor was modern and very good for the money. Was also easy to get about Paris fro the metro station down the road. no
The excellent service provided by staff and the existing facilities in the room.
The double room was not worth the money. I would get a better room with a good shower room in ETAP, Accor & IBIS for much less money.
Very good access to Metro. Super market (Monoprix) is near by. There was not enough hot water to take a shower for 2 people.
the little kitchen in the room was very useful The receptionists didn't speak english good enough
Good location, near tube syation for ease of trvel atoms paris. I didn't sleep well due to tegic outside but my husband and son did.
Location is close to metro station and the room had much space The smell of the room, the worn out matras of the bed, the inssuficient heating, the water in the lavabo in the bathroom, the electricity that fell out
With the window closed, my room was dark and quiet. I had an excellent sleep.
Location is excelent. Hotel staff was helpful. Absence of refrigirator and air conditioning in the room. Rooms were tiny. Only fue French channels available on TV. No CNN, no BBC.
The bed was comfortable The web site did not give a true reflection of the standard of thehotel. Very shabby and tiny rooms even as a superior. The superior room shown on website is the only room like it in the hotel
Staff here are friendly. No,electric kettle in the room to make cafe.
The staff were really friendly and helpful during our stay, and answered all of our questions.
