My 11 year old daughter is not shy when it comes to asking for help. She befriended one of the housekeepers, Darlene, early on in our stay. Darlene was so kind to my daughter even making sure to tell me what a ray of sunshine she was.
Beds were really comfortable. The staff were helpful. Loved the kids pool adjacent to the swimming pool. Good water pressure in the room shower. Location was great! Far enough from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to walk or catch the WeGo bus. Dated! But clean. Torn carpet, old fixtures. Wifi was terrible unless you were in the lobby. Breakfast was a little expensive.
The sliding glass door opened. False advertising. No restaurant or bar - advertised but was told it was seasonal Front desk staff rude Wifi - only available in hallway by the elevators and lobby Spoke to staff and was told hotel was full they didnt guarantee wifi. Would have stayed elsewhere if this was the case. No air conditioning. This was huge!!! Thought ac was broken and was told that weather was getting colder and the hotel had turned off the ac and turned on all of the heaters. It was 68 degrees. I have travelled all over and stayed in 2 star to 5 star hotels. Never have I been told that I could no longer use my ac. Not sure if this is an issue with kayak or Travel lodge but this is clearly false advertising. Also, when the heater/fan did come on it spit water out onto the floor and bed.
what i like in this hotel is the calmness of the area and the staff was so friendly. it's better if they enhance better their services. I didn't like being obliged to go to the elevator's area to be able to connect to wireless internet. I suggest to extend the coverage to the rooms walkway at least.
I loved the pool, hottub, sauna area. Great for families!! Rooms a bit dated; however, doesn't matter. Price was right and very clean. No lunch available - restaurant closed on Monday of the March break?? Seriously. Also, breakfast included for a flat rate would've been a nice touch.
Clean room, very nice staff and close to everything. Pool was clean and relaxing after a hot day at the falls. Hotel is far enough from the crowds but easy walk to falls and US side and Clifton Hill. The parking at $15 for guests and non guests are the same, somewhat ridiculous. The breakfast buffet is $10 and no free coffee at the hotel lobby. Very high prices after spending money to stay there.
location and the beds and the price
I liked the location and was amazingly surprise if the facilities offered as well as the room lay out. Parking was right there and even though we were 5 mins walking distance from the falls and all the entertainment we were away from the noise. N/A
The buffet breakfast for $10 per adult. Walking distance to the falls and Clifton Hill We were placed on the first floor which felt like a basement. The rooms were outdated, musty and damp. The carpet was loose and needs to be cleaned. The cleaning staff cleaned half of the room, my son made the 2nd bed and they left towels on the floor. The adjoining room, which was family, had their room door left open. The amount paid per room, I was hoping for something a little nicer. I felt that because we booked with an outside agency, we were stuck in the basement instead of the main building which was nicer. There was signs stating there was vacancy, so I'm sure we didn't have to be put where we were.
Fairly close to the falls. There was an indoor pool. Rooms are in need of essential repairs. Our shower and bath tub was backed up, had leaky faucets for the sink. Rusted bath tub that suggested there might be a bigger moisture issue in the bathroom. The wall paper was clearly paling off the walls around the entire room. The double beds were the most lumpy and uncomfortable things we've had to sleep on.
The service was great, good directions and they gave us a late checkout. We booked a city view room but got a corner room looking over the pool and parking
The Rex is family owned and the members I met were fantastic. Very helpful, friendly and super kind. It was my birthday weekend and left a beautiful flower bouquet and note and both nights warm pasteries were left in our room. The bed was a little uncomfortable but other then that everything else was great!
Family owned motel with a great hostess. She was above and beyond helpful in our short stay in Niagara Falls!
The staff tried to provide good service, and the hotel appeared relatively clean for its vintage. Bathroom was very small with no horizontal surfaces to set things down, other than the top of the toilet tank. The curtains let the lights from the parking lot into the room, so it could not be made completely dark. The room was not quiet, due to road noise and plumbing. There was no thermostat to control room temperature, but the room was heated.
Very friendly, nice, comfy, clean rooms. Location was good, 10 - 15 minutes walking to city center and the falls. Complimentary breakfast was a nice touch, the homemade pastries were delicious! :) Can definately recommend and will stay there again.
This is a truly wonderful place. The staff are exceptional and made a huge difference to our enjoyment of our visit. They provided great suggestions and helped us to structure our visit. The rooms are delightful. The breakfast, microwave, coffee machine and refrigerator, as well as free internet access were extra pluses. This place is a real find, and we would strongly encourage anyone with a car to select it over other hotel and motel options.
The hotel staff/owners are very friendly and helpful. They obviously care about making their guests stay a pleasant as possible. We enjoyed our stay. The main room is nicely decorated however the bathroom could use some updating.
The customer service There was maintenance being done early in the morning. Was never informed of this. Would not stay there again.
Free breakfast was okay. Quick check in and check out. Cheap. Rooms smelt disgusting, holes and cracks in walls, stained towels and sheets, cold shower water, air conditioning unit that did not work, dirty floors and walls, dirty pool area.
Breakfast was ok The staff was very short and didn't care much. The hotel room wasn't clean at all carpet smelled bad and room was so old and run down
The staff was nice I booked the room 12 days before my arrival. I called hotel a night before my arrival to tell I will come late in the night of my arrival. Then when we arrived at 11:50, July 2nd, they gave us their worst room- as the staff said, it was the last room. I could book such a bad quality room for a much lower price on 6/20/2010! What was the benefit of booking 12 days ahead?
Room avoid size hot tub was great AC not working very well no knob to turn on properly Tiles in bathroom ceiling need to be replaced
location and price breakfast
Location, location, location... this hotel has easy access to the Niagara Falls tourist spots. The buildings were run-down, the room was dark.
The only thing that made the stay worth it was the included breakfast, it was actually pretty good! The room was sketchy! There was a dead bug on the bathroom counter and wrappers and dried up food under the beds. The indoor pool had white specks floating around in it, the hot tub was empty, and the doors that said "Keep Doors Shut at All Times" were open with extension cords running from them! The male staff at the front desk were short and to the point. We felt like the hotel staff were doing the bare minimum to get by.
You get what you pay for. It's too far from the falls, holes in the walls, paint peeling from the walls. Bath tubs are old and dirty looking. It needs to be updated. So many other reason why not to stay to list.
Fair for the price.
Great place to stay..can't beat the price.
Very friendly atmosphere, nice environment. Clean room and bathroom. Easily accessed and close to Clifton Hill and the Falls. The owner was very informative about the activities and the attractions at the Falls The breakfast, even though it was satisfactory, was rather poor with mainly sweet tastes (nutella, jam and honey). The decoration and style of the motel can be more fashionable and refurbished.
Nothing! Everything! Staff was rude, prices way too high, rooms very small, location awful.
The staff, and the outside area The lock on the door didn't work well.
Had a good pool. BBQ facilities for visitor use. Management were friendly and helpful. Quiet and restfull.
I loved the friendliness of the lady that was running it....made me feel right at home!!
Came from the US to stay at Niagara falls. The hotel is older, but very clean and the owners are very accommodating. The breakfast was surprisingly good, and the rooms are equipped with a stove/sink/refrigerator, and has pots/pans/table settings, which is nice when you're traveling. The outside area was very nice with a pool, playground, and picnic area with a grill. The outside area was decorated with plenty of flowers the the owners keep up very well. Overall, or would definitely recommend it. The tv in our room went in and out (my parents said theirs worked fine so maybe it was just our room), and there were not very many outlets (so you had to unplug the AC to plug in the coffee pot)...But these were minor inconveniences.
very quite, pleasant staff room didnt have a fridge
Staff is accomodating.
I was close to the falls. Walking distance to a good Indian food restaurant next door and an IHOP was also next door to this place. We did not need to drive to get food. other then that nothing good to say. No elevator that we could find for out third floor stay. The stairwells where disgustingly dirty. The room was not dirty but run to the ground. I'm a contractor and the fire escape panic door hardware on the first floor exiting door was broken cause a total fire escape hazard. If this place was in the USA it would have been shut down by the fire department long ago. I did not feel safe if there was an emergency. Run down 4 channels on the TV. A new flat screen TV does you no good when you have no stations to watch. Pass on this place. Kayak has this place all wrong on the rating. I'm pissed I used them.
Very friendly owner, was extremely helpful. the location was excelent, walking distance from the falls. The room was very clean and we got very good value For our money. I would've liked a fridge and coffee making facilities in the room, but otherwise it was perfect. I really recomment it when you're traveling on a budget.
quiet - comfortable - clean - fridge in room Need to upgrade TV
The friendliness and helpfulness of Angelo, the owner. This is an inexpensive hotel with few frills but very clean and with everything you need for a few days in Niagara Falls - central too.
room was quiet beds were soft. no place to get hot water for coffee or tea. Ice machine not working
Location was good. There was no coffee maker or fridge in room. No parking when we returned for the evening, had to create a spot. Towels were horrible, the free internet worked only in the early morning.
Value for money. close to restaurants and downtown areas; helpful staff, clean and tidy rooms.
It was within walking distance of Niagara Falls, the room was spacious and the reception staff extremely helpful - they kept check-in open for several hours when our flight was delayed. The carpets could have been cleaner.
The hotel personnel was really friendly. They waited for us, although we arrived really late. They helped us organizing seightseeing tours. The room was quite big and clean. The Niagra Falls downtown was at 5 to 10 minutes walking distance.
Basic hotel but clean and fresh with very good staff. Lots of on-site parking and within easy walking distance of the Falls and other attractions.
The room was very clean Had to pay for parking inspite of the hotel being far from hotel also the room was very small
Parking is not included if purchased through someone other than Motel 6. There was an issue with the shower.
Front desk staff were more than willing to provide some of the amenities not available in the room, hotel was very clean, close to attractions and highway Toilet seemed to get clogged very easily
Standard hotel, with comfy beds. For two days parking in the parking lot, it came to 20 something dollars.
Just the basis, but excellent for the price. A great value.
third time there and everything was okay we do not like having to pay for parking and we were lucky to find a parking spot sice there were cars even parked on the grass on the street. Also since i paid for the room in advance and since it was approved i do not like haing to pay a $50 deposit on my visa card especially since it will not be refunded till later. For these reasons i may not return to this motel
It was really close to the USA and Canada border. It was very close to the Seneca Casino we walked. Shopping we had to drive a bit but was great. It's really outdated. The pillows are not great. The WiFi didn't work for some reason.
Value, cleanliness, comfort, great staff and location to the falls Additional parking fee BUT ALL (or at least most) of the "falls area" hotels/motels are charging this fee
Nothing Very poor quality. I would not stay there again.
It was extremely clean, and it met my expectations and I would do business with them again. My neighbors. They were loud.
Friendly Staff Noisy room, people in the next room weren't that loud but everything they said could be clearly overheard.
Location, Staff, Cleanliness, Price SLOW wifi
I like that the non smoking rooms are far enough away from the smoking rooms. The 'continental breakfast' leaves much to be desired.
i did not like anything. staff treated me as a child. could not even bring friends into my room without being questioned by staff. the way the manager treated me with no respect.
Good location for the price Should of had microwave or coffee maker in room
we found it to be quiet at night, which was nice,we were close enuf to attractions, but not caught up in the hustle of it. coulda had more towels, with the hot tub suite...a robe woulda of been nice also.
Great location for the Falls, easy walking distance, car not necessary to move aroung the area. Very comfortable bed, good hot water, quiet room. Good value for the area Room cleaning was not so good, spilled food behind the dresser. Continrntal breakfast wa pretty basic
for what you get out of the price to stay it is a good deal
The Jacuzzi in the room was nice. The air conditioning was a life saver. Plenty of towels. Pillows were a little small on the King sized bed. A balcony would have been nice.
The room was very comfortable and spacious.Would reccomend No complaints had everything we wanted
The great location and accommodating staff. The amenities were lacking but were comparable to those at nearby locations.
Close to the attractions, clean rooms, free parking Still has poor breakfast options, hard to find room in basement
The room was clean and comfortable. 1. There were no real breakfast there - only some cookies. 2. I was unable to get the real invoice for my stay.
It was close to the club seven To say I paid over $200 that room was very rough. Stains on the floor and cracks in the walls everywhere.
Nothing much The rooms were dirty, dirty furniture and upholstery, damp smell and some insects flying around inside the room. It was terrible experience. New owner apparently has no experience in hotel management and does not customer service at all.
the actual room environment are poor and different from the pictures i saw on that website.
The owners were very accomodating and the location was great only 8 tv stations - not good for tv watchers
They could not provide to me official invoice. They suggested to contact booking.com to get official invoice. So please send it to me as soon as possible.
The price was right and it was a good basic room. There was a refrigerator, alarm clock, and a tv, but no remote for the tv that I could find. It was late and we only stayed one night, so I didn't go to see if the office had one. This was a fine hotel for our purposes (grab some sleep so we could get to Buffalo airport early in the morning), and it seemed like there were some longer-term residents there, but I wouldn't recommend it for anything romantic. If we'd stayed more than one night, I would have had to complain about a couple of things. The guy at the front desk was very friendly and I'm sure he would have fixed everything or moved us to a better room if I'd complained. The room was basically clean (sheets freshly laundered, bathroom clean), but the air conditioning unit had some plaster chunks looking stuff inside the vent and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. I was a little nervous that I'd send mold spores through the room turning it on, but I seem to have survived. I didn't open the refrigerator, but the seal at the top of the door was very dirty, hadn't been wiped down. No washcloth in the bathroom (but there were basic toiletries). No tv remote, no coffee maker in the room. Driving in at 10 pm was a little creepy - in the dark, it seems to be an industrial part of town w/ warehouses, but the gps led us right there.
I could hear the neighbours. Someone was banging on the door at 4 in the morning.
close to the attractions old & next to a factory.
It was quilt,It's good walking distance from Niagara Falls. The first look was not impressive.
We booked here based on the cost as we were just staying one night while we did other business in the area. The location was good as it was only a 5 minute walk to Clifton Hill and the amusement/restaurant part of Niagara Falls. The room was clean and the staff friendly. though it worked for us, its not a place you want to stay if you expect more for the price. we stayed and slept well. it could have a had a couple more items in the room, like a washcloth, coffee maker.
Very well located, excellent prices. Warm welcome.
It offered an acceptable and comparatively inexpensive option in the major Niagara Falls resort area, with parking included. Great access. They were very accommodating when we asked for a quieter room location. They could have cleaned the outdoor stairs and walkways a bit more.
It smelt very musty and smoky although I requested a non-smoking room.
The hotel is run by the family who owns it and this makes a real difference in the way they take care of people. They gave great suggestions and followed up on what we had done. It was a wonderful experience staying there. Plus, it was a short walk to the Niagara Falls! We liked everything.
Was in a great location. Needs to be renovated ASAP
The room with the queen bed was nicer than expected.( they gave us this room instead of the standard room)The staff was nice.Great location very close to all attractions.Very clean. The room we stayed in faced the street ,so there was a lot of noise and light coming through the window. You could hear drunk people making noise until 3 am. The staff was very nice and let us change rooms the next night.(to standard room)This room was much better for there being no light and for the noise but if you have drunk noisy people staying while you are there you might not get much sleep. Good place to stay just bring ear plugs just in case.
near all comodity perfect place
It's Ok but room is very old, Ac is broken in Room # 8. Paid Breakfast and is very costly.
position, price, helpful staff
The staff was lovely. I quickly got a reservation there after having a horrible experience with the a1 Motel, and it was a wonderful change. Everything was fine. The bathroom was so so, but other than that, lovely.
It certainly is within walking distance to the casino, restaurants and amusement areas. It scores well for location. I don't like rooms with outside access. Also, no clock, no iron or ironing board or hairdryer in the room.
Nothing The bathroom door doesn't close ,
cheap fair price, location and accessibility smelled like cigarettes in the room
nothing,i was surprise, when the manager told me that we dont change the sheet evry nignt, those were very dirty, and when i told her she told me i will call the police for you,i was very surprised the room was very dirty, the staff was very bad,and whwn you ask for a good service they told me we will call a police,so i want to know were to make a plainte, the information on internet are all false
shower worked good dirty, never changed the room or took out the garbage, pool was filthy
Place isn't clean. Very bossy staff and owners. Small, smelly rooms. AC doesn't function. No instructions for operating equipments. Wiring is open, loose and scary. Trash bins are small and main trash bin are overflowing for two days. Bees and insects are all around. Requests to adjust customers plans are non responsive. Promise breakfast, however the petty things like toaster don't operate. Breakfast is served on a small table and place for 32 rooms. Long lines and wait time, which will force you skip the breakfasts.
The tv worked. Could have been cleaner.
Better than price. Clean. Sweeming pool. Not far from the falls. None.
Very cheap, nice pool, toys available for kids Room was smelly, needs to be refreshed
Excellent quality for the price Distance to the Falls
rooms have mini fridge and microwave. This is a two star motel at a two star motel price. For what we paid, we were satisfied. it appeared that only 3 of 33 rooms are non-smoking so you have to explicitly request a non-smoking room when you get there (they put us in a smoking room at first, but changed our room to a non-smoking room at our request).
I appreciated the attendent staying up late waiting for to arrive to register. My complaints were handled very quickly the following day when they were brought to their attention. The toilet didn't work, the bed didn't have a blanket, there was no heat, and my neighbours were very loud very late in the night (not really the fault of Falcon Inn). If I could have stayed only one night instead of two nights, I would have.
Location. 10 min. walk to Niagara Falls and all the attractions. The rate is reasonable for a family of 4 in the Niagara Falls area. Receipt is not provided. Internet connection is poor, intermittent and only in the bedroom. There was no soap. The towels were paper thin and only 2 sets were available. The room has a cigarette smoke and dampness odor. The lighting was poor. Front desk person is not friendly.
nothing rooms had filthy floors, no towels, no soap, no pillowcases,no toilet papper, fridge was not cleaned out. no life gaurd for pool. people drinking alcohole and doing dope at the pool. very poor manage ment.
location Service/facilities not that good. There are big holes on the wall. Admin office is not open even at 8:45AM!
A short walk away from the activity of Clifton Hill. No movie channels. No phone in the room. Very thin towels, only one chair in the room.
room size which was a 2 room suite washroom floor was not clean and the room did not have carpet .One of the two room suite did not have bedsheets for the two beds.
It was ok No plug for jacuzzi. Short circuited twice. Only two towels. Two pillows.
not much was not what i expected there was no fridge,no phone,no microwave,no iron it just was a horrible experience
It was good value for the money. The staff was pretty accomodating. Not a far walk from Clifton hill or fallsview. it's right on stanley st which is a fairly busy street.
not a single thing very poor service, facilities provided in the room (even toilet was not flushing), location and not worthit at all for the price paied.
Nothing The shower is not working, the carpet smells stinky
Location to everything around Niagara Falls. We were able to walk everywhere. No wifi. Were were able to pick up the signal from the main hotel sometimes, but it wasn't always direct.
walking distance to the attractions. It was just a place to sleep. could of been cleaner. Outdated. old beds.
Good deal for an expensive city. Walking distance of everywhere I wanted to go. No bells and whistles just a straightforward room. I recommend the heart shaped jacuzzi rooms. Staff was extremely nice, went out of their way to help our group An ironing board would have been useful, but not really recommending anything that would just drive the cost up
Location to the falls. Breakfast not included.
Staff were pleasant but they were from the hotel next door. Actual blood on towels, which was disgusting. Room smelled musty and unclean. Otherwise everything in the hotel worked.
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
It needs to be said that there is no elevators and that everything you need to do from check in/out, to getting ice, to buying a drink involves going to the hotel next door, not sure if it is in the process of being bought out but very inconvenient.
Great location Very dated room and I had to hike up three floors, no elevators. Old style TV and air conditioner unit was extremely loud.
Close to Niagara falls. Nice front desk staff Confused about hotel building. Two on location, inn and hotel. Assumed the hotel was it.
Location Old hotel. No internet and check-in across the street.
Location was great! The front desk which was located nex door the people were very nice My key kept not working Had to go back twice to get it re-done
Location is excellent! Room a little outdated but location makes up for it!
