World class service
Very good internet connection
Great location!! Attentive staff.....great shopping. Parking nearby is expensive.
best thing was the location and the friendly staff. after a long day out walking in a foreign city sometimes it makes all the difference to hear a warm hello and a smile when you return. the location is excellent, close to some great shopping and best selection of restaraunts in NY in my opinion. rooms are a little small, but hey its NYC. wifi was not working but they provided a cable which i connected to my laptop, so easy!
Good location Not at all friendly, very small room and not clean at all
The staff, Peter and Robert are fantastic Housekeeping knocking before 9am
Great location. Comfortable, clean, convenient hotel. Very reasonable price. Nice French bistro next door. Other good restaurant options nearby. Small room.
Location The room was really small, could barely move around in it with two people. The elevator was broken when we arrived. And the duvet didn't have a cover, just a top and bottom sheet. Not very hygienic...
The location was great. The airconditioner made so much noise that we had to pull out the plug. The noise from the street was also terrible! One evening the elevator wasn't working, so we had to trek up to the 7th floor!
The location is excellent and the staff nice enough. The room was small but clean and the bed comfortable. Very limited choice of TV channels - not even the bare basic cable menu.....and there was a lot of noise from a dance club, which sounded like it was in the basement. Those basses really carry.....
Hotel staff very young and friendly. Great position. My reservation was done for a room accessible for wheel-chair but the criteria of accessibility in that hotel is not respected. The access to the toilet is very complicated with the wheel-chair because of the limited space available, it is impossible to have a shower as there's a bath and for a person paralized it's impossible, even with the help of another person, to enter and going out of a bath.Sink was to high. Hotels cannot be considered accessible just because they have 2 handles on the wall.
Location, cleanses, and rrreasonable price. Add a small microwave to make it excellent.
Location, beds are very confortable, easy check in , AC right next to beds, seems like adesign flaw
Good location WiFi didn't work / wasn't provided as advertised.
The staff was very friendly and the hotel was super clean. My room was on top of a pub and on saturday the music was very loud and O couldn't sleep. Plus the nearest subway station was not very nice, at night I would be a little afraid to go there if I was alone. But an option is to walk a little more and pick up the subway in some other station.
I booked this hotel on Kayak after looking at the reviews. It was a phenomenal find. The staff is so polite and helpful. There was parking right up the street. The rooms are small but almost all are in NYC unless you want to pay for the space. Hopefully, you're out and about enjoying the City. The linens and bedding were very clean. They did a fantastic job renovating the oldest standing hotel in NYC. We plan on making it our hotel of choice when visiting. No complaints here.
How close it was to shopping, sites and restaurants.
Location brilliant, staff excellent especially porters. Very clean. Beds extremely comfortable with good fresh linen. Housekeeping staff excellent. Would stay again really enjoyed my stay. The room is beginning to look a little 'tired'. Sink cracked. furniture scuffed and the walls were marked a little in places.
Good quality rooms, pleasant staff, and excellent location.
The bed is super comfy and the location is great: little Italy, Chinatown, Soho - so many choices at your doorstep for breakfast is mind blowing! The rooms are fairly small, if you are tired for a day and want to stay in it can get a bit claustrophobic!
It was fairly easy to access from the subway and was right in the trendy side of the city - near Soho and Little Italy which was perfect for finding little boutiques or cafe's that can make decent coffee! The steep staircase didn't make it luggage friendly!
position and price
Location is OK, considered a safe area and near to the subway. There is a air conditioner in the room and with private bathroom, which is hard to get for that kind of price in Manhattan. There is no elevator for a 4-5 storeys hotel!!! I dragged my 20kg luggage to the reception on second floor, then to my room on 4th floor. If you are a backpacker where you carry everything on your back, I guess its fine.
The location Rooms extremely small and squashed, very noisy both from street noise and internal noise through the walls, very expensive for room. No breakfast facilities.
Staff is very pleasant. They help you with everything.
Nice area, clean rooms, silence, very nice ladies at the reception We did not expect much of the breakfast, as it is included in the price, but you can do much better...
Spotless, comfortable room. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Great location in the buzzing heart of Chinatown. Breakfast arrangements a bit scrappy at busy times.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, easy access by subway
The front desk staff are great! Small hotel but really cosy, clean and they know you by name! How warm is that?! The bed is so heavenly that I overslept all the time. The helpful hotel staff just makes my stay so memorable and I felt well taken care of though it was my 1st time in NYC. I wish there were security guards at the lobby as this is a smoke-free hotel thus I had to battle the cold winds and smoke just right outside the hotel in the public area but Chinatown is dead town in the evenings and it can be sketchy and dangerous in Bowery at night. Security could have been better so that hotel guests may feel more assured or no strangers gate-crashing the ground floor of the hotel whilst the actual lobby is on the 2nd floor.
The staff at this hotel are so friendly. Location is convenient across the street from a train line and a few blocks from little Italy. The hotel literally stinks. The room smelled so bad like regurgitated curry that we asked to switch. The second room smelled as well but not as bad, only in the bathroom. I think it must be the smell in the sewer pipes or something. Had to leave the bathroom door closed the entire trip so our clothes didn't smell like sewage.
We did appreciate the location, the wooden floor of our room and the breakfast included in our night rate. The noise coming from the street, no noise insulation, I think they should implement that a lot especuially for the rooms onto Bowery street and Grand Street.I think the linens (both bathroom and bed) should be cleaned much better, while the cleaning of the room was great!
The room was ok in general but very old bed and basic curtain shower. Old noisy AC with dial. Extreme noisy all night.
peace and quiet
The quoted price for occupancy at the hotel did not show the four separate tax charges added at checkout. I would have preferred to know exactly how much I would be charged at the time of booking.
Good design choices... nice bathroom (very Japanese)... simple, very comfortable, excellent bed/bedding. Highly polished wood floor a wonderful touch (no yukky wall-to-wall.) For this price ... it doesn't get any better. Highest recommendation for a budget hotel.
The location is really good: in the middle of Manhattan, close to the subway and within walking distance to the downtown. Decent internet connection. The floors in the room and the bathroom could have been cleaner, but otherwise OK.
Good location for me. Had a hard time with the key working on the door.
Location right next to the 6 train on the corner. Proximity to Little Italy and ChinaTown $175 for one night? Very old building. Cheap TV with poor reception. Bathroom was small, out dated and not properly cleaned, I felt the need for slippers in shower. The Holiday Inn on the same block was $129 for the same night.
great staff. free internet rooms too small. issue with clogged shower drain that was not fixed during my stay (even after 2 notifications)
Location great, poised between Lower East Side, Soho, Tribeca and West Village. King-sized bed the best. Close to great restaurants on Lafayette. Elevator a bit musty.
great location...nearby Chinatown and Little Italy and broadway...very close to subway elevator was slow...very slow, breakfast not very diverse and no lobby and restaurant
Clean and tidy at competitive price. Very helpful staff. Also not likes or dislikes but nowhere else to make useful comments: Be aware of small (but adequate) room size, no restaurant or bar (this hotel is just for sleeping in) and road noise (although not sure where doesn't have this in NYC). Location is on busy corner so you step straight into hub-bub of Chinese quarter - again not a problem once aware.
Room ws unbleievably small. Definitely not suitable for two people. Breakfast arrangement - go downstairs, collect your bun and coffee and take it back to your room - was ludicrous.
the location was perfect The staff wasn't polite at all. The room wasn't cleaned on a daily basis. we stayed there 10 days, and the sheets weren't changed at all.
The bed was very comfortable, but the room was a little small. The room was very small, but comfortable.
handy location no breakfast area; shower water pressure weak
Nothing Everything, this place is disgusting, room was literally a closet right outside of front desk, it was so tiny, and stuffy, no windows, and we were subjected to the front desk guy yelling in chinese ALL night, bed is a piece of foam, shared bathroom. AWFUL!!!! Never seen something so terrible, every hostel has been nicer AND cheaper!!! It cost me $80 USD for this hell hole!! Slept fully clothed because it was so gross.
Nothing. I didnt like waking up with 25+ bed bug bites all over my body. Nor did i like throwing my clothing out due to the fact. As soon as i walked through the door i was offered to buy drugs in the hallway. The upstairs which i thought was a aingle room is back to back closets with a wooden plank and a dirty bug ridden mattress.
Nothing Bedbugs were everywhere. The sheets and pillow had died bedbug stains from where I guess people killed them. The clientele where loud and vulgar and since the ceiling is open you hear everything. Heard drug deals, somebody threatening to kill his woman and her new boyfriend, etc...
Absolutely nothing room was violation of building code, genuine hovel See above terrible filthy room. No ceiling could see light from hall at all times. Room was really a windowless cubicle could hear noise from management all night. So much black mold it was scary. Not a hotel, scary place
