the New Yorker hotel is in a perfect location for visiting and shopping and we really appreciate this. Maybe the difference of price according to the days of staying. they should make a special offer for those like us who stayed for an entire week.
Good location The hotel felt tired, although to be fair, work is being done to improve it
Good service, central location and not much noise. Missing Internet-café, as we did not bring the lap top with us.
We had a small suite and the room was very spacious, unlike many other NYC hotels. The bedding was not as luxurious as I would have liked. I could have used an extra blanket or two.
The location is perfect for shopping and sighseeing. Hotel has 2 restaurants serving good quality food. It has a spacious lobby with fast check in and out facilities. It offers security safes at no charge. Security is very strict in the lobby before you enter elevators which makes female travellers feel very safe. There are lots of really good restaurants nearby in 7th Avenue and en route to Times Square. I loved everything about the New Yorker. There is nothing bad about this hotel.
I have stayed at this hotel in numerous occasions and think its a good location . The front staff at the initial check in were the rudest staff I have ever met.I felt in this occasion they were despicable.I would therefore think very carefully before staying there again !
The only thing we liked about the hotel was the location. The rooms were very small and filthy dirty. The staff was really rude. It was difficult to understand the English of the people working at the front desk and some of them were nasty.
VERYy convenient location Rooms a little small - but they're only for sleeping in!!!
I don't think anything has changed in 50 years and it's all very tired. I don't even like modern things really but there is no charm and it feels like the hotel has been ignored for a long time
the fact that is in the centre of NY rooms are very small and avg 200 $/night is too much
Nice position, good place to stay for shopping, city trip, and broadway shows. Nice view of the city from my room! room could be cleaner, average hotel staff, small room
bar , restaurant, loby.
Atmosphere Prices of food
Good location, staff was helpful. The bathroom is so small you had to crawl around the commode to get to the shower. The faucet in the sink was dripping, The room had in adequate lighting, and the clock was set for an incorrect time.
Location. Close Columbus circle. Lobby. Room was extremely small. Bath and Toilet was extremely small too. Bedding was tared which made me don't want to sleep in the bedding. I slept on the bedding. Don't recommend you to stay. I can not believe that I payed almost $250 for this kind of room.
facilities such as a bar, library. Also very good atmosphere poor air conditioning that kept breaking and the issue wasn't being addressed promptly
The staff were absolutely excellent..couldnt be more helpful and the hotel is fabulous The rooms are obviously very small and I understand nothing can be done about that but maybe a smaller rate could have been charged
Central, fun, clean and very good staff. Smallest rooms I have ever seen. It works though so I suppose it is not a serious criticism.
I loved staying at the Hudson, it was my home away from home. The location is excellent, the design is fun and funky, the decor is well thought out, staff are friendly and helpful, the room clean, the bed very comfortable and the shower water was hot. The Sky Terrace and Garden Room, one of the reasons I chose to stay here, were both closed. This was disappointing. The closure info should be made available on the website.
A comfortable place to sleep and a great location. It's akin to staying with a friend albeit one who charges you ~$300 per night. Rooms are very small with noisy air conditioning
Very good location, comfortable beds, nice and clean. A very good choice.
staff were very helpful and very welcoming, hotel is in avery good location 5 mins walk from central park. Reception is amazing hotel very busy but atmosphere very tranquil. Need to be more aware of residents and use of facilities, after being out all day we arrived back to the hotel for a drink was informed that the area was reserved, went to the other bar where it was close for a private function, was told to use the bar in the "club" area when after a while we were told we would have to move as our table was reserved, so there was no where for residents, although staff were understanding we still had no where to go.
The room was very small with about 3 1/2 ft on one side of the bed and 2 1/2 on the other. We had a very hard time keeping the room temp adjusted since the air seemed to blow on the head of the bed. My wife eventually slept with her head toward the foot of the bed. The bathroom is so small I am not sure how someone large could sit on the toilet. My knees were 2 1/2" from the wall and I am 5'9".
Friendly staff Steven, Kitchen available for light cooking Nothing much
It was close to Time Square. A lot of restaurants, shopping and other amenities were withing 15min walking distance. Parking was $55 per 24hrs for the hotel. Across the street there was a parking garage for $33 for 24hrs. In the second hotel I stayed at parking was $20 and it was 5min away from this hotel.
Good room, good facility, free coffee and internet Abit far from the time square when I stay there the ac was abit licking in my room
I stay at hte above hotel for 7 days. I was traveling with my mother and I have to give the hotel top marks for location and also comfort. the only downfall I would like to point out was the fact there was no bed linen or towel changes during our stay. We did request same on two occassions and where given plenty, but it would have been nice if they where changed maybe every two days or so.
The opportunity to prepare small meals.
Location Heater/AC ran all the time. Very noisy. Not effective. Need to change this somehow. Envrionmental control was poor due to tthis.
Locatiion is freat and the cooking facilities were useful.
clean, comfort, reasonable price in Manhattan! room service is once a week.
Great location. Rooms are clean. Staff are courteous. Good return for the money. Quiet rooms. Free internet. Need to ask for a mop for the bathroom and not enough place to put stuff around the bathroom sink. The booking.com website specifically mentions that the room is not to be prepaid. Card details are for guarantee only, however as I arrived I realized that the hotel had already charged my card. Anyway, they apologized and returned the money so I could use another way of payment.
The staff were always very helpful and the breakfast was very nice and saved us so much time and money rather than searching the city every morning. I was disgusted by how much I got charged for 3 phone calls totalling 39 minutes in all. It came to $245.50 which is completely outrageous, how can a hotel justify charging this amount such a shame.
rooms are small hotel not so close
The breakfast service provided was excellent. Great choice and variety of fresh food, replenished right up to closing time so no one was left hungry!! The Hotel is less than 5 minute walk from Times Square, but in a quiet area. Subway station and Port Authority Bus Terminal is 2 blocks away, excellent location for shopping!! Hotel recommended an Italian restaurant on W38th St, Cabone I think it was called.....delicious!! Bit of a dodgy experience with the cleaner moving our shopping bags around. Concierge did however rectify the problem within 10 minutes. Hotel provides black car transfer to the airport. We were told it was same as yellow cab flat fare to the airprt plus toll. Driver tried to charge us more at the airport and expected tip so be sure to clarify the price before you leave the hotel!
Good location. Room is clean. Small but honest bathroom.
Great staff and very clean
nice location! plush bedding! secured and quiet! truly enjoyed my stay!
Friendliness and helpfulness of staff and excellent location in Manhatten. Complimentary breakfast. Wish they did not have bell sound on lift when it reaches every floor. You can hear it at all hours in room.
Clean and comfortable with helpful and efficient staff. Good value for the money. Elevators are tiny and slow and are shared with housekeeping. Plan time for trips up and down to your room accordingly. If you haven't been to NYC, rooms will seem small, but by NYC standards they are not.
I enjoyed the cleanliness of both the hotel room and the bathroom. The bed linens were quite comfortable and attractive. The location at 39th and 7th is most convenient for access to shopping, theater and restaurants. Upon our initial sighting of the hotel, I was a bit disconcerted with the exterior of the building and the lobby area. However, after settling into our room, I was pleasantly surprised.
Staff at the front desk and breakfast room were very kind and helpful. I thought the "going away" telephone call was very nice. The room was very small.
The staff was incredibly friendly and motivated to make the stay at their hotel pleasant. The hotel and my room were both super clean. When I had a problem with my reservation, the woman at the front desk said she would send me a voucher for a free night. That was truly decent of her, but I honestly would have been happier with getting the room I booked. I specifically sought a king size bed and stopped in at the hotel a few days before my stay to make sure I was getting the room I booked. I also asked not to be near the elevator bc I needed quiet. I was coming in late from work and had to be back early. So when I opened the door to my room, which was right next to the elevator, and saw two queen beds, I was not happy. I really wanted to sprawl out in a big bed, even though I am short. Also, the shower was way too small. This is the second time in a month that a Hilton property (the other was a Doubletree) has downgraded my reservation. I'm a Hilton Honors member -- now I'm wondering if that's code for "abuse this guest."
Rooms are small (to be expected in NYC) but comfortable, and clean. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The hot breakfast was very good, and there was a good variety of things from which to choose. It is located in close proximity of Times Square action, but just far enough off the beat and path for it to be quiet and a break from the hustle and bustle.
NO PARKING AND THE PARKING GARAGE THEY ASSOCIATE RATES WITH IS $35 every 24hrs!!
Room Airconditioner was efficient but was too noisy at night - probably needed maintenance to fix noisy fan which appear to be out of balance.
the rooms were comfortable hot water ran out
The staff was super helpful and the rooms were very clean and nice. The breakfast was great and there was plenty of food. The location is excellent. You can easily walk to any location in Times Square and we enjoyed the fact that the hotel was not on a busy street, so street noise was extremely low. I would highly recommend this hotel. There was a lot of traffic in the lobby in the evening because of a hot new club "The Sky Room" that is on the top of the hotel. However, the Sky Room staffing did an EXCELLENT job of getting hotel guests on the elevators before the club hoppers. We also were never disturbed by the club in the slightest. This isn't really a negative comment :)
Location was perfect, price was affordable, room was clean and comfortable, Skyroom rooftop bar was fantastic. Staff was a bit brusque, room was small and cramped ( first time staying in NYC)
Great Hotel. Highly recommended. Nice rooms, friendly staff and excellent service. Continental breakfast included, and it was not bad at all. Great location near Times Square. Next to the bus stop if you travel through Newark airport. Yes, the breakfast room is small, but it was not a major problem.
Hotel was great location, clean and spacious room for Manhattan. The staff was discombobulated and one shift didn't seem to know what the other shift was doing. We were locked out of our room twice because they mixed up our reservation even though it was pre-paid. Each time it happened requiring is to come to front desk immediately and disturbing our morning like it was our fault. They couldn't seem to wrap their heads around a simple reservation and the inconvenience they were causing. No apologies for it either. If this had not happened, this would be the best hotel in Manhattan.
Very helpful staff and great location. Excellent breakfast.
Close to all the possible scenic spots + bus/train station Long line on breakfast and only 3 elevators for all the floors ( 32 floors with atleast 5-7 rooms in each floor).
Staff was very friendly, it was in close proximity to GCT, price was reasonable, room was clean and comfortable Construction on the street was a bit disruptive for sleeping. Reserved a room with a King bed, but was stuck with a double
Great value for this area of Manhattan. Staff didn't seem to communicate between one shift and the next. They confused and crossed our reservation and double charged us making us get three sets of re-keyed room keys. Pain in the total a$$.
The room was clean The elevators take entirely too long. Only one elevator was working and it took literally over 30 minutes of waiting just for the elevator to take me downstairs. We were on the 29th floor, not exactly walkable by stairs (especially with luggage).
The staff and views were amazing.
The room used for breakfast was too small to accommodate all the guests in the hotel.
Close to city center. Terrible and poor breakfast. The wait time for the elevator was to big - 10-15 minutes in the morning. The air conditioner was very bad.
The staff was pleasant and accomadating. only has two elevators
The beds were comfortable ands the location was almost perfect. We had some trouble regulating the temperature. The maid understood no English so that when we asked her to come back later she simply went away:-)
Good free Wifi Bed Location Staff Small room Crowded small breakfast area Limited seats in lobby
Bed was very comfortable.Rm was adequate size and very clean. It was very quiet. We felt like we had the only room on the floor The only complaint I have is that we woke up first morning and the room temp was only 60 degrees. The thermostat was set at 72. We tried to reset it with no success. The desk sent the maintainence person right up to fix it. It was fine till that night then it went the opposite way. It stayed at 82 no matter how low we adjusted the thermostat. We ended up covering the heat unit with our coat and books and propping door open to hallway.
The location was great, the free wi-fi is something all hotels should give complimentary. In total - great value for money The breakfast was funny, the kind of breakfast you would expect to find in Mcdonalds, not in a hotel.
Very clean, comfortable & met all my needs. Lovely & knowledgable reception staff
Very comfortable room - huge king size bed, excellent location near Times square and Port Authority bus station, Very friendly staff who gave us some great advice on nearby bars and restaurants breakfast was fine - but nothing fresh there
Remarkably quiet for NYC (and the location!). Very comfortable bed and linens. Small -- but perfectly acceptable (again, esp for NYC!) Bathroom was great. Very pleasant and helpful staff. I would definitely stay here again!
1. The front desk personnel were very helpful. 2. The location was very good: easy walking distance to airport connections, subway and bus routes. The room, while clean and modern, had little room between the large bed and areas to sit in.
-it was close to subway and Times Square - the breakfasts were terrific as were the staff in the breakfast room - 4 adults could stay in the room without extra charges
Was confirmed a king bed and was told only 2 full beds were available when I arrived. No good places to eat near the hotel and no food or room service offered.
Our room was spacious by New York standards & also a decent price as NY hotel rooms are not cheap. Modern facilities & very clean. Helpful staff & not that far from everything. Nice breakfast too was a bonus
The location, the clean modern rooms, the free wifi and breakfast Nothing, it was perfect!
friendleness of staff
We liked the location of the hotel the room was small but very clean and nice and very convenient to have breakfast included in the price, also the staff was very helpful.
The staff was extremely helpful, and I was able to have one room for myself and my two children. Although we were centrally located, the room was small and did not seem to justify the high cost of the room.
It was just a place to stay at night! The reason I picked this place was previous reviews. I aian't find the internet helpful at all, the speed was so slow, and it got disconnected so many times that we decided to give up on that. The free water bottles, is only for the first day, we were 4 and we got 3 towels, we had to ask for more each time, the shower was kind of difficult to figure out at first. Conseirge was very confusing instead of being helpful, they were not helpful at all, we figured things out by asking others. overal it does not worth the money at all! I don't know about other hotels to see if I would recommend this one or not!
The location was nice and the staff was very nice .i would recamanded I wish the room were a bit newer bet a nice hotel
Excellent beds in a fairly new hotel. Location was pretty convenient to Time Square (a little off the main area...so it was quieter). Most importantly, this hotel was definitely excellent quality for the price. NYC hotels are outrageous and this was at least reasonable; I would stay here again. Breakfast is included (which is great) - but the breakfast area is quite small and can be very, very busy (overloaded w/ people).
The hotel was in a perfect location. We were able to walk to the theater and there were plenty of restaurants near by. I was with 3 teenage girls so the proximity to Times Square is great. Nice breakfast and friendly staff!
staff and location both excellent loved everything
The staff, were brilliant. So nice and helpful. Room was great, and very clean everyday. Only problem (which wasnt overly bad) is, it is right next door to the New York Parole Office, and not as close to Time Square Centre as I thought.
Nice room and view. Great Location
Fantastic hotel, great location. Staff were great many thanks ti them. Ideal location next to Port Authority Bus Terminal and Subway Station. Street not seedy in our opinion, felt safe always. No complaints great stay. Many thanks.
The hotel was small with a standard foyer but the room was surprisingly roomy with a good bed and layout.
The room was small, but larger than many other hotel rooms in Manhatten. It is quite adequate for two people. The closet was large, with a small coffee maker. The bed was very comfy and included pillow top mattress, down comforter, and down pillows. Desk, Internet connection, and flat screen t.v. Everything was new and very clean. There is also a computer provided for guest use in the lobby. The location is directly across from the Port Authority bus terminal. The street includes two adult DVD stores and is located in a side street that may scare some people. On the plus side, we were ten minutes from Time Square and there were people everywhere so we did not feel unsafe walking to or from the hotel.
Hotel was good. A little dated but clean and comfortable. Good value for NYC. Close to times square. Great view of the empire state building. Staff was excellent. Very friendly. They even got my a room on a higher floor for the views. Excellent customer service.
comfortable bed, clean, good location, friendly and professional employees
Central location, clean, modern bathrooms, comfortable beds. Noisy but it's downtown Manhattan so it's to be expected.
After the maid cleaned my room, she left the room open and did not close the door.
Beds very comfortable, nice new hotel in reasonable location, walking distance to times square.. and shopping. No Fridge in room ,noisy airconditioning, did not receive requested early morning wake up call. On check in had booked and paid for king bed, got 2 doubles as king not available, thereby reducing space in already small room.
The late checkout and location Room could be more updated and the walls were thin
The room was soothing and nice, and had everything I needed. I enjoyed hanging out and resting in my room. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom, especially for NYC, was a generous size and had great water pressure. Was great to have a REAL gym in the building with a knowledgeable owner so I could keep up with my fitness routine. The staff were pleasant. Doesn't make the greatest first impression visually The lobby, bar and restaurant are dated and feel very 1980s - kind of run down looking - which made me want to turn around and find somewhere else to stay. But the hotel got good reviews, so I decided to stay. I'm glad I did because the room and the gym made this stay extremely pleasant.
The room (mostly the bathroom) smelled so strongly of bleach that I got a terrible headache. It was bad enough that It didn't matter what deal I could get- I could not tolerate it another day. Other than that, everything was great. If smells don't bother you, it's a great place! I am VERY sensitive to smells.
Our room was large and very comfortable. The hotel was conveniently located. The lobby was crowded, worn and dated. There were huge boxes lining our hallway that made it difficult to get to our room with luggage.
Older hotel, with older finishings. But large rooms for a city hotel. Everything clean and comfortable. Nice lounge to grab a snack or drink. Rooftop pool was a neat experience for our 14yr old and great value for Midtown. Discounted parking wasn't bad at 30.0p/day and the hotel kept our bags after check out. No complaints
Rooftop pool and central location excellent; staff extremely helpful. Manager Joe Cecala great. The lobby bar is not romantic.
Location was great. Old building that needs updated infrastructure
Perfectly located if you are on a short tourist visit to NYC. A little renovation can help up lift quality of stay.
The proximity to Central Park was nice. The room had old appliances ( toilet, air conditioning unit) and reeked of cigarette smoke.
Location!! Room was clean and staff nice. We had and adult and child friend in the city we were visiting. We didn't use the pool until one day we wanted to have them join us. We were told that they would be $75 a person to swim. I thought that was outrageous since we hadn't used the pool yet and I'm quite sure not everyone staying in the hotel takes advantage of the pool. We decided to go to their building which had a much better facility 44 floors up on the park to swim. We weren't charged a thing to use for the day. I understand a charge of some sort but $75 for 1 adult and $75 for 1 child is ridiculous. I also can't speak to the food in the hotel because we always ate other places, but we found that everything else with our stay was more than adequate.
The size of the room was bigger the expected and the location was fab! The staff were very friendly.
Location was excellent Room was too small and cramped for the price.
Staff were very friendly, especially the concierge. Room was really clean. no complaints
This is a wonderful establishment where we stayed for almost a full week. The doorman was very polite, as were the receptionists. We had a few special requests, which were all met with ease. When we commented that the room was a little small they showed us a larger room, which we chose to decline. Our room ended up being perfect for the two of us. The sushi restaurant on the first floor is incredible, we dined there twice during our stay. Everyone is very attentive here. I am very excited to plan our next trip and return to this hotel.
Sorry to say but nothing. Our luggage (2 med sz) took up half of our floor walking space. The bathroom was tiny. I am 5'1" and didn't have enough elbow room. The entrance to the hotel was presentable until we stepped into the hallway leading to the stairs which we had to take since the ancient elevator would operate at a turtle pace. Climbing up 3 flights of stairs was a lot faster. We were very dissapointed with the room for the amount we paid for the stay.
Hotel was central to all the sights and sound of NYC we will be returning!!! Times Square a short walk from one end of the street and Hells Kitchen District packed with great bars and restaurants at the other....great Sushi place next door. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean with fresh soft towels and clean linen everyday. Car service available from the hotel to the airport was also great......most hassle free holiday I think i have ever been on!!
Easy to find, central to metro, restaurants and bars. The staff were very good, no issues. The room was very clean and tidy and the KS bed was very comfortable. Overall I would stay again. Only two minor issues, some street noise at front of hotel and the toilet/shower are could have been slightly bigger
Clean, cosy, Staff is very nice and helpfull. Small rooms.
Rooms are way tooooooooo small!!!!!!!!!! The bathroom, tiny!!!!!!!!!! The headboard on bed, dirty!!!!!! Not acceptable!!! No extras in regards to pillows and linens. Location, great!
The position near Times Square - the bed was very big the room was small - the wardrobe was small and there was little space for luggage
Great location, free wi-fi, friendly & helpful staff . Tiny rooms, hotel amenities.
The hotel was exactly what I needed it to be. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. The room was extremely clean, and the bathroom was updated. I would definitely stay here again. The location of the hotel was absolutely wonderful… Close to Times Square and close to the subway station which takes you everywhere you need to go in New York City. The only con would be the size of the room, but that was not a problem for me because I was by myself. Most rooms in New York City are very small so I would not put this as a negative for this hotel.
I liked the proximity to Times Square. The rooms were comfortable and Hampton inn staff were able to satisfy my requests. They have free breakfast and had coffee, tea, and hot chocolate free 24 hours. I also liked that our luggage was stored meanwhile we explored the last couple hours in New York. It was expensive for 2 nights since the stay was from 12/31/15-1/2/16. Some of the staff could have been friendlier to other people. Breakfast had long lines and the dinning area was not big enough to fit everyone. Overall, this is a pretty good hotel. Would stay here again.
Friendliness of staff complimentary breakfast was fantastic something for everyone and even a limo supplied for the return trip to airport at the same cost of a taxi Nothing to complain about
My one night stay room was upgraded. It wouldn't affect me much but the large room, thoroughly clean, and the great ventilation made for a good night's sleep. The location in the city is perfect for Hell's Kitchen / restaurant row dining. Unlike other inns or hotels I've been to around the city, this one seemed exceptionally clean and new. Staff was friendly and helpful. The check out time (noon) is also a huge plus. The front lounge seems ideal for getting some work done or catching up with a friend (with comp. coffee, tea, hot chocolate). I'm very pleased with the inn, surprised even that it met and surpassed initial expectations, and will definitely stay again. I reserve one star for facilities only because I stayed for one night and didn't get to see much. Otherwise, perfect!
Staff was friendly & helpful; room was clean; breakfast was good. Room was just adequate in size & was a little dark. Desk area could have been brighter to facilitate work.
I had a very arge room by NY standard ('King bed with study' - ie large room with a desk). There were hot drinks available 24/7 in the lobby The carpet in the corridorsmade the place look rather grotty and run down, though at closer look it was not so.Some of the breakfast, all comlimentary, was very good (wafle mix and wafle machine) some of it was not: machine made omelttes with processed cheese etc.
All the staff were great! Breakfast was great. Also the location was perfect. 5-10 minute walk to everything! There wasn't really anything.
For the city, the room was nice sized. The lady I was traveling with is obsessed with bed bugs and insisted we flip up the mattress for inspection, lol. Mattress and linens were imaculate. Bath was clean. Breakfast was decent. A bench to smoke outside would have been lovely.
Friendly helpful staff. Clean. Good location.
great location--the quiet side is actually pretty quiet for being so close to Times Sq/free coffee/tea/chocolate in lobby at all times breakfast offerings could be better
The attitude of the staff was excellent The fire escape staircases are at the center of the building, not at the ends
Excellent locationa nd value. We have stayed in the city many times and foudn this hotel have great amenities as well as a staff that is exceptional
Great stay awesome price, good position and comfy atmosphere. My favorite part is the 24 hour coffee bar, feel like home
the location was great, 10 minutes to Times Square and easy walking to subway.and places to eat. Great swimming pool, which was needed because of the heat June/July
Good loation, clean room
Great hotel for the price. Great location, short walk to times square, two blocks from port authority were they have buses to all airports
location staff of hotel
Location was very convenient and centrally located in Manhattan. Parking also convenient. While staying at the hotel, we left a pair of pants on the bed in our room. When we returned they were missing and the cleaning staff had gone through the room. Cleaning staff had taken the pants. The front desk was neglectful and resistant to help in the situation. Still have not received the pants that were taken.
Great location! Plug wouldn't be work in bathroom. Tub wouldn't drain while showering.
excellent location large TV Beds not comfortable. One light didn't work No safe. no hairdryer not a great value for price.
The fact that it is convienently located and has garage parking WiFi should be free. They should allow for pre-pays...This was a gift put on someone elses charge card and I had to pay for it myself.
No bedbugs. Very mediocre place.
location and price room smelled like cigarette smoke
The location was great. The staff was very friendly and the price can't be beat. The wifi was not free.
Location, price, cleanliness. Pool always closed, workout machines broke
Rooms were clean, beds very comfortable, maid service timely, toiletries excellent, service excellent, fitness room spacious, and outstanding location - one block from Times Square, next door to subway stop to SoHo and 2 block from subway going uptown, near great restaurants a block away, and a block or two from most of the major theaters . We have now stayed here three times in the past 4 years - not willing to risk staying somewhere else Nothing not to like, except it can be pricey depending on the day of the week you stay ($300-$400/night), but it is worth it.
Nice hotel friendly people The parking people they are affiliated with are ripoff scam artists! DO NOT PARK THERE
Clean room, comfortable bed, nice walk in shower (no tub). Subway entrance right outside. WiFi wasn't free unless you sign up to rewards club.
for the buffet breakfast they write down 18% tip???
Proximity to time square. No way to control temperature. Noisy.
Very slow elevators, tiny room.
All was geat and will stay there again.
Location was perfect. Minutes from Times Square and the theatre district. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly (shout out to Oscar the day time manager)! Breakfast was also good. The rooms themselves could use some upgrading. Bathroom looked very old from use. I knew the rooms were going to be small from previous reviewers but it was still surprising to see the size first hand.
Loved location (near Times Square) Rooms were really small and there was no iron in my room.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is right in the Times Square district near Broadway and theatres. A fun flea market is only a block away for souvenier shopping. The room was extremely small--the queen size bed barely gave us room to get in and out of bed. No place to put suitcase except in the doorway right in front of the door. There are only a couple tables in the lobby for breakfast.
The hotel location is the best thing that it can offer, very near to places within Midtown manhattan. However, the rooms are to small very difficult to move around and to space for bigg luggage.
Clean and friendly. Nothing it was great.
let us check in early, held our luggage tiny rooms
Kind, friendly, courteous staff. Hotel room and bathroom were clean and staff went above and beyond all expectations!
Nothing!!!! Everything was very , very bad and I will never come back.Do not use this hotel! Nasty carpet, room like cage, closet olmost do not exist, batroom clean but very small, window is not posible to close and you have feeling sleeping on the street! Varmint for people and cost $560.00 for two night!! I didn't like anything during my stay at Econo Lodge!
Good value and a very clean room and facility
The staff was polite and helpful. That there were no vegetables on breakfast
Helping & caring staff. Excellent outside view from the room. Everything was excellent about the Best Western Convention Center.
Staff were pleasant Confusion at registration desk both checking in and out.
The staff is unfriendly, the rooms are very small and not clean, there is a lot of noise from the garage/body repair/ taxi service, next door. The location is in an area dangerous at night. The hotel has nothing to do with Best Western hotels chain, is just a very bad franchise. It's the worst hotel i have ever been. I would suggest to Best Western to cancel this franchise, otherwise they will ruin their image.
It is located within walking distance to Times Square, pretty good location. Staffs are friendly, and the room is clean which is the most important thing to me.
Check in people and Breakfast Room Cleanness was terrible. Only one elevator for guest and employees
A minutes walk to Convention Center. That's it. In every aspects, inferior to the standard hotel. FedEx pick up service must be done by myself, for example. No coffee in daytime and night. No refregerator in room. Noisy at night due to 24 hour open taxi repair shop just in front of hotel.
The room was too small !!!
I was expecting a much smaller room, so the size for the price I paid was excellent!
Perfect location, walking distance from Port Authority, Times Square, Broadway theaters. Comfortable bed, perfect plumbing, friendly staff. Breakfast (which is included) was terrible. We've been staying at this hotel (originally Best Western) for 10 years, and breakfast was always pretty good. Sadly, under the new management, the food quality went down south to the point of unrecognizable. It should either be improved radically, or there should be no charge for it.
I usually stay on the lower Eastside when I travel to New York for the restaurants and art galleries. I selected the out purely on the basis of economics and the desire to do something slightly different. Although there are no art galleries and only a handful of restaurants in this neighborhood it is walking distance to time square and the theater district. If shows are your game, this place is pretty awesome. However for 160 bucks a night with good sheets and a recently renovated modern bathroom I do not feel inconvenienced at all. You can easily take the blue line subway down to Chelsea or Greenwich Village and as long as the weather wasn't as terrible as it was during snowstorm Jonas during my stay you can easily walk east across to the Bowery once you have moved south a bit by train. There's a charming coffee and breakfast place right next-door to the hotel which was friendly and provided healthy food options. The staff at the hotel although not the most polished was extremely helpful during the storm. They were able to extend my stay since I was stranded with all flights canceled for 2 days without gouging me. I had a problem with my television remote which they expeditiously repaired and I appreciated the attentiveness and speed. The hotel restaurant was, meh, just fair, certainly not awesome as compared to most restaurants in New York, but they get points for being the only place open on the night of the storm. And again at bargain-basement prices for the room one as little right to complain.
The outside seating area attached to our room and the internal attrium. Staff were very helpful. We booked a suite. Very small room with only a bar mounted above the credenza to hang clothes. I had to make a conference call the next down so went to a common seating area downstairs It was dirty with several chairs stained with spilled drinks. Very loud club which didn't close until 4:00am. Good for young folks less so if you are a little older.
Can't beat the location Spa and hot tub need to be heated up in the morning
Proximity to various NYC highlights is very nice. I understand parking in NYC is difficult, but a better alternative could be achieved.
Impossible to sleep depending where your located in the hotel. If your on the same side as the club good luck getting any sleep at all. I could here the music and the DJ better than I could hear our room TV. Had to keep AC and TV on in attempt to drown out the music.
A staff member member became rude with us in the hotub area. We were compted $50 in room service because of it. Other than that, the place was great!
Location Noisy in room heater.
Location was excellent
Liked that 4 of us could have a room where we each had our own bed and tv and be fairly close to great destinations. The place is right beside a night club and the room we were given initially was right beside the club. You could feel and hear the music in the room all night. There was also an "emergency exit" door right outside our room that was used by service personnel. The door banged constantly with people coming and going. Seriously the bang was so loud it made us jump every single time - this was every 15 minutes or so the entire night. None of us slept (myself, my 63 year old mom and my 18 year old daughter). One of the Tv's didn't work at all and another had a bad picture - we asked for it to be looked at - never happened. No way to lock the door from the inside and no "do not disturb" sign. We complained about the room but of course they couldn't do anything other than move us for the 2nd night and offer free breakfast (which was actually brunch starting at 10 am which needs its own whole other review). Room was dirty - carpet, sheets...Then the second night we did have a quieter room. While we were getting ready for our show there was a knock on the door followed by a male employee walking right in - no waiting for us to let him in - just walked right in to fill soap in the shower??? What if we had been naked? So bad it was laughable. At least we all have a funny story to tell. A tv and 2 lights didn't work in this room either. Awful awful place. People were nice but didn't follow through on the service at all.
Good price and location AC unit was extremely loud, impossible to sleep well with it on, and it was humid hot summer in NYC. Major bummer. No towels in pool area had to call 3 times, there is barely any staff around ever. People seem to be here to crash for parties or work, not really a vacation hotel.
The mini bar The maids
Nothing The hotel was too expensive The room was very small It was dirty
We were in NYC to see some friends and go to a concert at Terminal 5, and we picked Skyline based on its proximity to the venue and the fact that it had $10 parking! It was a 10 minute walk to the venue, and about a 10 minute walk to the park or Time Square. The rooms were exactly what you would expect for a reasonably priced hotel in New York City, they were slightly smaller and a little old, but perfectly clean. Pool was nice, cool setting on the top floor. Close to major attractions, not a bad price for Manhattan. No coffee maker in the room, cold showers both days, rude pool staff.
Bed was ok. It was clean . Location was not bad. Bathroom very small . Once the housekeeping open the without noticing. I notice the hotel had a restaurant 2 days after. No breakfast included.
Clean Rooms No Coffee in the AM in the Lobby.
Everything about our time here was excellent and we stayed here for 2 weeks. Would definitely come back again and would really recommend this hotel. There wasn't anything we didn't like
Our stay was during one of the busier weekends, when the Pope, Beyonce, and everyone but their mother decided to go to NYC. Needless to say, there were few options that fit our budget and our requirements. We booked the hotel because of location, price and overall comments from other reviewers. First off, we loved the location! Situated right in the center of Hell's Kitchen, the nearby restaurants were incredible and it was easy access to go anywhere in NYC. We also liked the room itself. It was a decent size, with two twin beds that were more like full-sized than college comfort, it was clean, and it was quiet. I didn't like filling out a form online for early check-in, just to arrive and find out we need to wander the streets for an hour because they didn't have a room for us until 1 pm. I also didn't like the option of choosing a room with a view only to have our window facing a wall. Finally, for a name like Skyline hotel, it gives off a false hope that it's taller than five floors. Motel, maybe. And certainly not valued at $300 a night. But for our one-night stay outside of the room, it had a clean bed, a big room, and the added comfort of a great location.
The pool hours are weird.
Location is great, just 2 blocks from metro station, bed and furniture was ok, staff polite Restaurant charged me about $25 for a normal breakfast, food somewhere else
10 min. walk to Times Square Great surrounding restaurants Affordable parking
Short walk to Times Square and Rockefeller Center. Left car in garage for ONLY $10/day. Staff was very friendly . No coffee I room but made me venture out early in AM, so not a deal breaker.
The hotel is in a great location and is small with only 5 floors but very nice and clean. I would recommend staying here and would totally come again.
I originally asked for a room with a king bed as it was just myself and the upgrade was pretty expensive considering the room would have stayed unoccupied. Room also significantly smelled of new paint which was not remedied.
