The value, and the location.
Great water views especially during breakfast! Not much to dislike
Location was excellent. Staff was friendly and eager to serve. Room was clean. Smoke smell in hotel lobby and very strong in hallways. Our room smelled awful, like animal urine, however, when we alerted the staff, they immediately switched us to another room that did not smell bad.
Friendly staff and nice size bathrooms
Nothing. Did not provide crib after delaying answer to request several times. Did not provide a receipt at checkout. Small area for breakfast. Could not locate an ice machine and not indicated on map of hotel.
We always stay at this property when visiting friends in New Bern. Comfortable, nice staff, and good value for the money.
Feels newly remodeled and very nice inside. Breakfast wasn't very appetizing eggs and "meat" not too good. Slowest elevator on earth.
The staff, from the front desk to the maintenance men, were very nice and prompt with assistance. We stayed in the "Inn" building, and it's old and dilapidated. The air conditioner wouldn't cool. The maintenance man came to fix it - he "reset" the compressor, but it didn't work. Another maintenance man came the next day and did a similar reset, and this time it half worked for a couple of hours. The room never got cool during the three days/two nights we were there. The maintenance men were honest - they said the equipment had a 10 year life and it was older than that and needed to be replaced. MANAGEMENT - ARE YOU LISTENING?????
The staff were so friendly, the hotel was in impeccable condition and spotless. The pool was perfect for young children. They had a very good continental breakfast. The continental breakfast only goes until 9:30, people who have been traveling long distances would like sleeping in slightly making it difficult. I would recommend that it go until 10 or 10:30.
Easy access no
The hotel is conveniently located, and our prior experience here had been a good stay. The hotel was full the evening of our reservation, and we did not initially have a room. A room was located for us, but it was a smoking room. While the attempts were appreciated to mask the smell, the stay was not pleasant as a result.
The staff was very friendly and the hotel was very clean and well maintained. I did not like the suggestion given to a Restaurant to try. It was a new Restaurant and it wasentirely over rated. It was a bad experience for our first night out on the town in that area.
It was clean, and check in was prompt. Breakfast choices were too far apart and there weren't enough tables with just chairs.
Very very kind staff. Not a problem but no room service, that would be a nice addition to an already accommodating hotel.
Clean and comfortable. Breakfast is good. Coffee is also great. None.
The staff No
The staff was the most polite and friendly staff I have encountered. The bedspreads were a little worn out.

Location, breakfast The room was not serviced for 3 out of 4 days I stayed there. The bathroom ceiling exhaust fan was noisy. Overall felt the room was neglected.
The friendliness of the staff. No.
The staff was helpful and courteous. The room was spacious and largely clean with an exception. The chair at the desk was gross! The chair looked as if someone had done almost everything you could imagine on the seat. This problem should have been corrected by the cleaning staff without customer complaint. The toilet ran non-stop.
The in-town location of the Hanna House was great. We walked most everywhere. Joe and Camille made us feel comfortable. And the breakfast was beyond delicious, every it of it, from fresh fruit to frittata. Tom's pancakes were fluffy and the syrup was warm and tasty.
Service great. Owner waited late for us even though our number did not come through on electronic reservation. Even took time after that to help us find a good place to eat late on a Sunday night. Breakfast was delicious. Lots of menu choices and cooked to perfection. Very nice location. Walking distance to shops and attractions. Historic and very well maintained home. Was the best place we stayed on the trip.
Comfortable room, great food, warm hosts
This B&B is close to downtown, only a block from the front gate of the Tryon Palace. Very accomodating owners who provide a clean, comfortable, quiet retreat from the busyness of the outside. Wonderful bedrooms with comfortable beds. The front bedroom has a private bath. Breakfast is continental but fresh and tasty. Who can resist NC country ham biscuits? Lots of yogurt and fruit in addition. Welcoming common area with a shared newspaper every morning. We have been three times and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in New Bern.
The contact information for the hotel went to the previous Manager's cell phone. There was no actual "business" number. We kept getting redirected to people's private cell phone numbers. It was all very odd. We weren't even sure that anyone was even "physically" running the property. We immediately called and cancelled.
