Excellent location...Walking distance to the seaside, right in the middle of the shopping district. Plenty of restaurants near by.
A good hotel near to the more expensive shopping area , the staff are excellent in the way they communicate and help guests. I have now stayed a few times in the hotel and find its location safe (especially for Napoli and nice to walk around, there are interesting bars, trattorias and restaurants nearby. Not this hotel in particular, but in general the price of in hotel breakfasts, and I do know real Italians and what they eat for breakfast I am not commenting on the lack of a big American fry up. Only looking for a cornetto and cafe latte variation for a sensible price.
The localization of the hotel is great, in the Chiaia region, the best neighboorhod in town. The hotel is very near to the best shops in Naples, such as Gucci, Armani and Louis Vuitton and another great shops, so you can reach the best of the city in a short walk. The hotel is also near to some good bars and restaurants (like the great pizzeria Matozzi) and to some streets that are closed to cars and are great to walk around, so within a walking distance, you have the best of Naples. It is also just three blocks form the subway station that leads to the central station. The hotel is very good, the room is very modern, new and clean, with a large ans clean bathroom with amenities. The only bad point is that they don´t have a safe box in the room, but they have in the reception. The staff is great, always ready to help you, the breakfast is very good and the hotel restaurant serves pretty good foods for lunch and dinner. I would recomend this hotel for everyone, me and my family really liked it. Just to put a safe box in the room
Helpfulness by the stay. The bar tender during he evening of our stay was very curtious and informative. prices for drinks at the bar much to high
good neighborhood, close to good shoping district, nice rooms, but a little bit smal not so rich breakfast choise, no bar or caffe in the hotel
Excellent service all round . Excellent Room. Spotlessly clean. Excellent location. Though the restaurant not busy at night the food was absolutely delicious. Very nice staff. safe area of Naples. Walking distance to the main shopping area and Piazza Plebiscite. Not far from bay. Rooms lovely. One fothe best hotels I 've ever stayed in.
perfect location very comfortable hotel!
Very well located
The room was immaculate and well kept. Beds were firm. Would definitly stay here again.
I like very much the hotel , all was perfect :)
Good position good views good breakfast. But its opulence is fading fast and the spa/pool etc was closed as it was Sunday - this is not stated in the web site so the value was poor as we had expectations that did not come to fruition. No use of pool. Old fashioned.
best position in Napoli, very nice hotel and staff, especially the girl from reception who is very nice and beautifull
The staff was helpful and nice They need to update the hotel a bit it's very dated it's like stepping into 1945. They need to make the hotel like Thr terrace they have on the very top there is a restaurant there and it's the only area of the hotel that I would consider a 5. Star.they should use the style of that restaurant for the entire hotel.
Old. Needs a complete renovation of interior. Wi fi also needs to be updated and strenghthened. Location and rooftop restaurant are only selling points right now.
Amazing views, great location Limited catering, no evening meal and even basics like snacks in the evening were not available
Fantastic hotel. Best location, very elegant, clean, friendly staff, great breakfast.
The location is great. The music of a wedding in the hotel was loud until late hours in the night. this is not acceptable in a hotel like this.
The staff were extremely helpful. I had no problem with the language and they could all speak English. All staff were eager to please and offered excellent advice on where to eat and where to go to experience Napoli. The services offered were exceptional and I was treated as a special guest. I recommend this hotel to anyone going to Napoli.
Luxury hotel, well situated. Great breakfast on the tarrace - excellent personel (Mr Mario). Good room service.Tasty meals. Perfect barman Not fully satisfied with Concierge and reception personel - they seemed to have something more important to do than paying you enough attention. Parking - you have to go on foot to pay and to collect the car
Close to dining and shopping. Close to the port to catch the ferry to Capri and the other islands. Its the best hang out spot in naples. Staff was friendly.
the staff and the comfort cooperation with staff, because of their poor english..
Old world charm and great location. Staff was very helpful. Rooms were a bit dated.
Excellent staff, fantastic room, bueautiful view, good breakfast, good decor. No
Reception by personel was terible:poor english, unfriendly (few persons starting by manager of reception) Very expensive for price paid. For breakfast large choice but personel disputing between them, not profesional behaviour. It is the first time when I see something like this. Our 10 days holidays in Italy (Florence, Genoa, Tuscany, Milano) were fantastic but not in this hotel. Sorry because behind are people & familly, but something has to change.
They implied that breakfast was included then we got whacked for 27 a head on breakfast. Most expensive muffin I ever ate
Excellent hotel in perfect position with professional staff . Has everything anyone could wish for was an ideal base for three wonderful days in Napoli no
View is spectacular and the walk along the beach is great. Breakfast is good. Carpets and walls looking a little tired, but certainly everything is clean!
Beautiful view of the castle, the sea and the mountains.
Sorry, not much. Breakfast overlooking the sea but inside away from the traffic is the best I can come up with. Hard lumpy bed. Pool closed on arrival. Refusal to provide iron/ironing board to tidy my dress before going out, curt to point of rude reception staff but most important no one smiled - not even once.
The balcony and the seaview The room The central location.
The room was cleaned every day and the sheets changed daily. The decor was lovely but there was a lot of unfinished work in this area. For example a fixing had been put on the wall and the plaster had broken away and no one prepaired the damage.
The hotel provided an excellent buffet breakfast which was included in the price. The view of the Bay of Naples was magnificent, particularly from the dining room. I also had dinner there and the service was excellent and friendly.
Staff were lovely. We had a problem with our room when we checked in initially and we were moved without any hesitation. Also, when we were leaving we asked for a recommendation for a hotel in sorrento and Monica, a fabulous lady helped us to secure a hotel for 8 days. This was completely above and beyond and we very much appreciated it. She had also recommended a beautiful place for dinner near the hotel. Good helpful staff working in a hotel in a new city for visitors are worth their weight in gold, this lady in particular was exceptional! No complaints about the hotel and the location was good. Naples is abit nuts though, 2 days is plenty!
Good, spacious rooms. Good view from some of the rooms. Staff are helpful and courteous. Very good location. The re are not that many choices for breakfast and lunch. Same menu repeated.
I love the location and room. However, the breakfast was the only poor parts. Their coffee is a shame of Italy. If the tourist comes to Italy at the first time and drank that coffee, they will all think that Italian coffee is horrible,,but the truth is one of the best. They should really change that coffee and stop serving conserved fruits, Naples has wonderful fresh fruits!!!
The view was fantastic and the room was ok. Pool area was fabulous We were charged for items from the minibar which we never had. Were woken at 12 midnight on the first night of our honeymoon and told we had to change room. Told it was our honeymoon but got no welcome basket for it.
Everything was excellent - the room, the staff, the location. The staff were all very helpful and room service was very good. Check-in and out was very quick with minimal paperwork. Noise from the bar and reception area in the evening. The bar seemed to be open to the main hall and noise travelled to the rooms. However there was no noise from 12midnight so this was not a great problem.
In essence the hotel is a beautiful oasis of comfort and calm tucked away inside vibrant, noisy, beautiful Napoli. Some day,in years to come,I will be back with my wife and this where we will stay. Please write at least 15 words
Everything was good, perticularly staff and location
The cleaniness of the hotel and room in particular was amazing, just wanted was needed after a day out sightseeing! The service was very good and the hotel staff were welcoming and polite, especially the reception staff. The choice of breakfast was very good, healthy choices as well as the more traditional fare. I would certainly use this hotel again if visiting Naples. No negative comment to make
Hotel corridors were pretty. Everything else! Uncomfortable beds, inhospitable staff, Wi-Fi totally unusable, shower temperature fluctuated from scalding to freezing, and room was rather depressing. I would never recommend this hotel, nor would I stay here again.
Location was very good, close to shopping area and the Port. Very safe that you can come back from your dinner late night by walking.
Traveled a lot throughout Europe and never know what kind of hotel one will get. This was one of the top class hotels I've stayed in and would definitely go back. Very modern, clean and in a great safe location. You can see everything from the city to the harbor on foot. Hotel staff also has great recommendations on excursions to Capri, Sorrento, Positano, etc..
The quality of the hotel was excellent, decor and room-size great, the best we had in Italy The location is not the best, but stil within walking distance of highlights
First trip to Naples and this was a great choice of hotel. Situated in the back streets of what could be considered a 'fashion or shopping' district. Rooms great, very nice. Good size for Europe. Breakfast good too. Nothing out standing, but it was all fresh and well 'cared' for. I have a 5 star hotel working background - so can be very fussy. This was a beautiful hotel. Amazingly quiet considering it's location. Nope. The hotel is down a pedestrian only street - which is really only a hassle for the porters or taxi driver. Any extra few euros will get your bag carried by the taxi driver.
The room and the bathroom are renewed and very confortable
This hotel is very clean and wide. The staff are almost friendly. The kind of the breakfast was not too much, but the taste was really good.I would highly reccomend this hotel. I cannot use WiFi in the room, but I can use it out of the room.
The views from the restaurant, bar and roof terrace, looking over the Bay of Naples, is quite superb. Our own room, situated at the side of the hotel, had no view. However, those rooms with a frontal position all have excellent views.
almost nothing) 3 star in realitty- small rooms, old looking, bad location
Service & Location
the reception was wonderful there was mould in the bathroom and the bed had springs poking from it. the room service cost was 54 euro for a salad and sandwich...ridiculous
old fashioned and charming.
The locations was very good and the buffet breakfast was also very good. The other hotel amenities were mediocre and the hotel was understaffed. The decor in the rooms needs updating. There were stains on the bedspread and the chair was broken.
Great decor, location, and friendly service. The whole place feels grand and otherworldly. Very tasteful.
Enjoyable stay, away from the busy part of the city. Great view over the bay
Great location with panoramic views of the city. I believe it is trading on a great name but needs a little over hall. Dinner was great Bit of a walk / taxi ride to other places. Dreadful bathroom manager needs to stay in the room to see that there is no light available while in the shower. Shower dated could be turned around and there would be a fine shower space
We arrived at the hotel around lunch time and found a very warm welcome with a simple check in and were shown to our room to find a lovely bottle of wine and some cakes awaiting. During our stay we found all the staff very helpful. We visited the hotel resturant on our last evening and had a very enjoyable meal.
Fabulous, character filled, old world style but with up to the minute luxury. The most beautiful hotel bedroom overlooking the Bay of Naples. If our holiday had finished after our stay at Grand Hotel Parkers, I would have still been happy! We got directions from the car hire company at Naples airport, which were pretty direct, however we later followed the hotels own sign posting which took us through hair-raising narrow side streets! Next day we drove the easiest route away from the hotel and down to Pompeii, so just get good directions!
It was clean, comfortable and the staff where very helpful. The location was brilliant!!
The exellent room and the Quality of the reception staff It was perfect
Triple was a great size for 3. They gave us a boxed breakfast to go as we left very early in the morning for a flight. Only stayed 1 night, but it was in a great location. Near lots of restaurants. They need magnifying mirror in bathroom
The view of Naples harbor.
Great location! Staff not very attentive.
Usual common hotel with classic interior. Not much special. Harbour view was nice. Averange breakfast, internet is for extra pay
Overall the hotel was very good and in a fabulous location. It was quiet and peaceful but only a few minutes walk from most relevant areas with some excellent restaurants nearby. Apart from the bar/restaurant the staff were excellent and very helpful! The bar staff were very disinterested and it seemed like too much trouble for them to serve us - and then we were completely ignored when we went down for a restaurant meal - so we just dined out instead!
Spa bath not functioning.Could not be repaired, resulting in forced change of room on second day (re-packing,unpacking cases).Bottle of local red wine offered for inconvenience.
Good views, good location Although good location it was a bit noisy
The location of the hotel was great so was the open buffet breakfast. Even though the rooms are poorly decorated and a bit tired, I think the location was so great that you can oversee these minor details.
We had a wonderful stay. The staff were very helpful.
Magnificent view of Naples.
Location overlooking bay of Naples Our room faced away from the Bay, when enquired about a room change it would have more than doubled the price
The staff were very helpful and professional and made us feel very welcome. The hotel was very comfortable and the view of the Amalfi coast from the hotel was just spectacular. Cannot recommend enough
I booked a smoking room with a view. I got a non-smoking room with a view of a brick wall. When we requested to change we got another non-smoking room with a view but had to pay extra for it. We tried to book a balcony table on the roof top terrace for dinner and we were told there was no need to book. When we went to dinner we were not allowed to sit on the terrace as there was a private function happening and instead were lead into a small dull room at the back of the terrace and finally I have to say the meal we received was appauling, the worst meal we had for the entire trip. I would have liked to have been told about the additional costs for rooms with views at the time of booking and also we should have been told about the function as we would have gone else where. The only part of the stay I enjoyed was leaving. I would not recommend this hotel. See above.
View from breakfast room was stunning. Rooms comfortable. Parking very expensive, but safe. The latter a plus in Italy. Bit far from city centre and difficult to reach without car. You have to use cable car, walk, take a very dirty metro train and walk for miles to basically see a very noisy city. Hotel Restaurant very expensive. No other eathing places nearby.
The view! The menu was limited and difficult to understand.
Good hotel with pleasant staff and a great view
The room was nice and the views spectacular
Lobby room. Terrace restaurant. Good breakfast. Very bad connections of public transport to the hotel. No connection to the beach. No swimming pool (necessary during the summer months!).
The location is spectacular, over the the edge of the Mediterranean and the restaurant has a great view over the beach The staff were not very helpful or welcoming.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They really seemed to want to make my stay in Napoli pleasant. They also made great breakfasts. This hotel is a great value, the rooms are very nicely furnished. I had a little problem with my room's AC but the hotel took care of it quickly with limited inconvenience to me.
English-speaking staff. Accommodating and willing to assist. Location. Accommodations were well-appointed, comfortable. Cramped with additional person. Insufficient toiletries (basic soap, toothbrushes).
Staff was very helpfull and friendly. Good location. Balcony in the room was small and view was not good. The hotel is not easy to find
Unique location really inside galleria building. We can see Galleria from hotel room. Easy access from airport by Alibus. Free Wifi at the lobby.
The staff was very helpful and kind. They gave us a lot of good adivce and information to visit the city. The rooms wide and comfortable. The breakfast good and tasty with the possibility to choose between salty and sweety things! The location absolutely perfect, at the very centre of the city and above all it has been amazing staying inside a monument, Galleria Umberto. Ask to stay in a room overlooking the Galleria, you can enjoy a really special and unusual view!
intimate, beautiful galleria ,pleasant helpful staff, marvelous location--perhaps the best in naples
The service at this hotel was exeptional. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful which made our stay a real pleasure. As it is a small hotel, there is a real sense of being a valued guest and not just a room number. Our room was lovely, four poster bed, all very clean and well kept. We'd definitely recommend staying here. The hotel is a little tricky to find once inside the Galleria (there's a small intercom by the wrought iron gates if that helps anyone planning to stay!). We were lucky as our taxi driver showed us where to go but I'm sure if you call the hotel one of the staff would be more than happy to come and find you in the Galleria itself!
the localisation of the hotel was excellent. The hotel is on the 4th floor and you exit in Galleria Umberto, there is few bars and shopping area just downstairs. Even if it rains, you can stay in galleria and make some shopping I didn't like the breakfast, it not looked very fresh and small choice. My room has not the window with view on Galeria, but on the other ugly side.
Art and general atmosphere Noise coming from teh Gallery during late night because of football players
Hotel decor spectacular, like living in mini palazzo. Staff wonderfully welcoming, friendly, helpful. Location excellent Nobody in Naples seems aware of its existence. So e.g. taxi drivers all know Galleria Umberto, but don't even know there's a hotel there. Landed there at night, no sign of life, asked residents of apartments in Galleria, but they had no idea either.
Staff were excellent and took time to explain how to get to places of interest and gave great advice on restaurants etc. Rooms were very clean and well looked after. Hotel in an excellent location with lovely view of bay and Vesuvius and in good proximity to ferries, buses, restaurants and shops. All in all really enjoyed the stay. Everything was good if not excellent, bedrooms maybe need modernisation but not really a criticism as very well maintauned.
The hotel is in an excellent location for walking about the city center, ferry terminals, views of the harbour and for walking along the waterfront promenade. We also enjoyed historical aspects of the hotel itself; it has a great deal of character is beautifuly decorated. The rooftop breakfasts were delightful and the entire staff was friendly and most helpful.
Good ambiance, nice vieuw, nice staff A lot of noise from the street.
From the moment we arrived the staff were there to help and make our stay as wonderful experience as possible.
La posizione e la vista sono magnifiche RIdicolously overpriced! It is impossible sleep in the room with seawiew that are the most expensive. The noise from the street till very late at night makes impossible resting.
The hotel was even better than we expected. We were met personally by the owner. The mini bar in the room was at no additional charge as were the coctails available in the afternoon in the lobby sitting room. It was decorated absolutely beautifully. An electric tea kettle was available in the room with tea and coffee. I would not stay anywhere else in Naples.
Lovely art nouveau hotel.Clean and quiet( for Naples) fantastic position, lovely rooftop garden.Free bar! Taxi service is expensive, check before you agree anything!
I loved the location and the staff was very friendly, picturesque views yet close to the beach and gorgeous pool, great breakfast
From the manager to the house maid, their willingness to make our stay a memorable one, was faultless.
Excellent service, nothing was too much trouble and breakfast on the terrace in the sun was wonderful.
Very comfortable and clean accomodation with fresh and funky decor. Excellent location close to the gorgeous Umberto galleria, numerous clothes shops and coffee bars an ideal place to start exploring the charismatic streets of Napoli. Nice breakfast. Staff were helpful and friendly, particularly Jasmine. The Church bells are rather noisy depending on what time you choose to sit on the roof terrace.
The staff is excellent and superfriendly. The location is super: next to the Via Toledo, but very quiet because you stay on the fifth floor. The atmosphere breaths design and relaxation. From our terrace we couls see Mount Vesuvius on the one side and the hill with church on the other! And if you take your breakfast on the communal terrace then you hear the clocks of Santa Brigida right next to you, so what could you ask more? Right...
the hotel was ideal for us in terms of location,Having spent two days site seeing around Naples, I believe we made an excellent choice
Great location steps away from Via Chiaia and Toledo, close to the Beverello port and Centro historico.
very nice place, beautiful terrace, excellent location for a city tour
A clean, fresh, trendy hotel at a very could location. The staff was very friendly and they have a very good list with restaurants. The english language of the staff could be better.
The hotel staff was great. Nothing.
rooms were nice and clean, balcony view was good; location was great it was close to the historical piazzas and Via chiaia and Via toledo (which were not really that interesting but are 'to see streets' of Napoli) breakfast was poor and they couldnt manage to make hot cafe latte. It was very very difficult to find the hotel by car, there was absolutely no signs for the hotel on the streets. Because of one way streets, we had to park and walk to the hotel; even then, at the door of the hotel there was no label. The friendly coffee place was kind enough to walk us to the hotel and show the elevator inside the building. Only in the elevator, 5th floor said the name of the hotel! The reception was on the fifth floor so it looked like someone'e flat to us.
design of the rooms location airconditioning style nice bathroom needed to check-out very sharply and were reminded about this 30 min prior the check-out
I enjoyed the designer atmosphere of my room. I liked my balcony. The breakfast was great...they have a panini maker! The complimentary cappicino was very good. I needed laundry done and they rushed it for me. The bed was very firm. I prefer a softer bed.
The hotel stays just few steps from the coast, very central location, very delicious restaurants nearby. The hotel is quite new. The aircondition unfortunately is not working. The rooms are extremly hot. The price is including breakfast but the breakfast consists of just coffee and some bread
the staff's help the place intestine ones' bluster after midnight
very close to port, and to safe areas, for dining , shopping. ,, not being able to get breakfast, early in am.
Very nice location, friendly staff, very decent price The bathroom could have been cleaner, specially the shower
The hotel has a nice location in a safe part of Naples near the waterfront and the castles and easy walking distance to the fascinating Spanish Quarter of Naples. The rooms are small and simple but very clean. As a nice touch, you order your breakfast in advance and it is delivered to your room each morning. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Location is perfect in Santa Lucia (a better area in Napoli, bus stops, supermarket, good cafes nearby on Via Santa Lucia, one block away from the sea, close to port). Air conditioning, free internet access (with own laptop or 2 offered by hotel next to the reception, helpful and friendly reception staff, good breakfast area, good presentation. Strongly recommended if you consider to stay in Napoli. Taxi to hotel is approx 12EURO. It is not a luxury hotel, but everything is reasonable and good as what we expected. If they can offer a better breakfast and a cooler fridge, it will be perfect! Overall we like the hotel. Please note that different buses run at different times (morning and afternoon on different sides of Via Santa Lucia). You will need to transfer at a nearby piazza if you are going for city trips.
the only thing that me and my friends didn't like about Hotel rex was that it didn't have a dinning room, we had to order breakfast the night before, and it was delivered to the room. 1 not the time we ordered it was too early. 2 didn't get what we ordered. that was a little disappointing.
Very good location, and really quiet, for Naples. Close to Castel D'Ovo and Borgo Marinaro with good choice of bars, resaturants and great atmospheare. Breakfast menu might be improved with few slices of cold meet or cheese, yet we liked the idea of eating in the room.
Convenient but quiet situation
Eveything was good! only one minus--when u sleep in the morning ,,staff begin to clean rooms so early in coridor and we always wake up )not bad ,,but a lit bit discomfort ))
location in centre of Naples bar shut by 9.30pm without notice
The location is good, the staff very friendly and helpful.
Perfect location for sightseeing, elegant interior, kind staff. Internet access at the lobby was unstable, not only from my laptop but also from others. We used a internet cafe nearby (2min walk, 10am-8pm).
kindness of staff is hard to believe. excellent location. homely atmosphere.
We only stayed for one night but the staff were very helpful from recommending an excellent pizza restaurant to booking a cab for the Airport. The Location could not be better - on a pedestrian street - and although our Room was on the front we never heard any street noise. The Hotel can be a little difficult to find if arriving during siesta time or late in the evening as the entrance door may be shut - however there is a buzzer alongside the door
Tranquility of the building. Kindness of its staff.
The reception was super. They were willing to help in every way and they were efficient and really charming!
location and hospitality
location difficulty in entering
Friendly staff. They don't speak english, but some of them spoke russian. That was quite a surpise. Good breakfast it was a little noisy
Clean, comfortable, staff friendly and in nice location within Naples N/A
Very clean and tidy, some lovely touc hes in the layout with sitting space and terrace; good position, close to metro and funiculare and to best shopping area. Easy access to main station for visits to other towns and tourist spots.
location, friendly staff but not very good at English. They were very welcoming to our group of teenage students.
The area that the hotel was in was very nice, a more affluent suburb of Naples. I felt safe in this area as i wouldnt have in other areas of the city. It was only a short walk to the Amadeo metro station. The hotel has recently been renovated and it has a simple but elegant decor. No-one spoke even rudimentary English, so I found it quite challenging to ask questions of the staff.
Antonio was a most gracious and helpful host ,really a wonderful man .The hotel is in a good location and rooms are spacious enough and our balcony was great Thanks Antonio !
Good location if you want to stay in this part of town. Great view from hotel. Ideal for city or romantic break away. Walk up from the station to the hotel. Better to get a taxi.
Breakfast was great and taken in a wonderful room The staff, which was very rude and unpolite, there wasn't the desk in the room, they cleaned very bad, they threw objects without replacing them and they, they changed the position of my stuff.
The hotel's location worked out very well for us. It was in a quiet part of the city, but within walking distance of the main tourist attractions and shopping areas.
View from room was wonderful, staff was helpful, breakfast was still Italian (croissant, juice and coffee). Hotel might be located in one of the best (judging on tidyness and surroundings) places in Napoli. It's not the very heart of city, but I was really glad that we were not living in city centre. If you go by foot from Metro station, it's some hill to climb to get there. But it's possible to use 'funicolare' (which is quite fun) and it's always view from the hill that makes climbing worthy.
