Excelent central location, close to shops and Railway station, clean and tidy all services adiquite ,decor average. To describe our room as Deluxe would require a vivid imagination.Good basic at best.
Easy access to the rest of the city The TV was old and didn't work very good. It was also hard to see the bed from the other single bed
Location of the hotel and helpfulness of the staff. The room was not cleaned until late in the afternoon.
The service and cleanliness Very goog experience and proximity of the center of the city
comfortable bed not really - a little noisy
friendly staff, convenience of hotel, air conditioning, quietness price
Unable to open windows - air conditioning either too hot cold or too cold. Very claustrophobic.
Location Checking in 1/2 hour before I was supposed they said have to wait 1.5 hours for room but spoke to manager and she fixed that
decor breakfast could have had more selection and real heinz baked beans
The location is great and the rooms are pretty basic. You get what you pay for. There was no "do not disturb" sign to put on the door so housekeeping would let themselves in without so much as a single knock. I could have been naked. Noise from the hall filtered into the room so as a light sleeper I had trouble with that. Wanted to have a look around the hotel because of the heritage but got told off by one of the staff.
Very convenient for the CBD and the tourist bus & tram The hotel won an award in 2010 for renovations - i don't think they checked room 728. While my hotel room was cleaned every day thoroughly - it was disappointing to see such stained carpet; also as the ventilation in the bathroom was not good, there was a faint smell of "drains"
The hotel had an excellent central location right in the heart of downtown Melbourne. Very convenient for shopping and some of the main attractions. The outlook from the bedroom window left a lot to be desired.
i enjoyed the location of the hotel as it was within walking distance to attractions and public transport.
Very central location of the hotel, in walking distance to many sites, very close to tram and bus stops. Good breakfast buffet. Friendly and helpful staff. No free internet access (as opposed to statements on this web site)
location is really good, helpfull stuff Rooms are on the level of cheap roadside motel. In addition: inspite of all rooms were announced as "non smoking" in the first room that was provided still was strong smell of smoke in combination with the windows that can not be opened. However, another room was provided.
Excellent situation for shopping, the trams, dining out and shows. Breakfast was excellent. Nearby construction was noisy.
The staff was friendly and accomodating The hotel is dated, carpets in rooms need to be replaced, just overall not a place I wanted to stay in. I stayed only night of my 14 night reservation, paid the one night penalty and moved to a different hotel.
Walk out the door and you a in the middle of down-town Melbourne.
Centrally located - close to shops!
Curtious staff and very friendly--exceptional service from paul the porter-- bent over backwards for me and others Room 945 had defects --ie the shower curtain was deteriorated--water jug not visible -- swipe card did not activate lift
Central to everything
I thought everything was fantastic, friendly conveinent,it was a pleasure to stay with you,my only advice to you is that you do something about the problem with the showers,by the time you had 3 people use the shower the water was flowing out the door this maybe needs to be addressed, otherwise it was all fantastic. Other than the shower,no other problem.
Good location, Clean well presented room, quiet room, the staff took note of the "Do not disturb" sign and didn't disturb.
location was pretty central to the city in bad weather, all hours parking was distant. For those having a rental car, parking is rather important.
The whole hotel had a high end feel about it but at a reasonable cost, the staff were fantastic and accommodating. That I only stayed one night.
location and ease of getting in and out of the hotel, facilities and friendly staff. N/A
fantastic location and very quiet room for city centre -smart finishes, very nice bathroom I found the continental breakfast really disappointing , could have been a lot more interesting .
Middle of the city and public transport was really close. Quiet. Really easy to get around .
The thoughtfully designed and maintained rooms are great: they're clean, quiet, calm and well-appointed. No basic muesli option in the buffet breakfast - a real oversight. And some equipment in the gymnasium was in a poor state of repair. These are such minor issues, it's hard to complain about anything more substantial.
Location to city When checking out we made comment that the milk for our coffee was off as it had curdled..Only to be told the staff member that that can't happen and we must have been wrong. Very easy to see off milk when it has lumps floating.date on milk was 5 months old
staff are kind and friendly no
Free Wi-Fi at decent speed, pretty spacious Expensive breakfast - sadly an all too common problem
Location very central.very near to flinders station, federation square and everything!!!staffs were great too. No complimentary wireless Internet service!the charge for Internet usage was very expensive!
loved the location and the staff were friendly and efficient
The locatrion was great , very central to most venues.
close to the city and transport romm where we stayed was dark. bathroom needs refurbish and more shampoos soap etc
The location was excellent, right in the heart of the city. Excellent buffet breakfast. Everything was excellent, no complaints at all.
no rush, calls answered/and executed perfectly,valet parking 10/10,meals 10/10,comfortwas fantastic.close to the show we attended,friendly staff,at all hours. N/A
The kids loved the little teddy's and chocolates! And we liked the ease of everything. Our room seemed to be quite hot and hard to get the right temperature for sleeping.
Staff excellent. Breakfast excellent. Location excellent. Executive room quite small. Bathroom dated. Room generally pretty average, not good enough for the money.
Quite nice hotel, good location. Although quite good not quite as flash as some others in similar price range. Noise easily heard from nearby rooms.
New room in south wing was very clean and comfortable and a good size. Staff helpful and friendly. Fantastic position in the city. We thought was comparitively good value for money. Views non-existent... this did not worry us.
Convenience to city centre and trams
This is an excellent hotel for staying in Melbourne - it is central and close to the main transport office and hub. We just needed it for one night and it fulfilled our needs - the bedrooms were clean and comfy but badly in need of refurbishment - presumably why the price was so good. They charged to store our luggage.
Very close to city and transport. Great central location. Queen bed was too firm. Also the air conditioning was not working properly - so room was too hot at night.
Its location. Friendly very good desk staff. Cost was good $110 a night for 30 second walk to Swanston st - most central hotel I had stayed in to date. The shower in room 338 was about 1/4 pressure, like a big trickle - horrible, no pressure and had to leave it on full heat because adding any cold water changed the entire temperature to a trickle of cold ! They send you to a locker room to store your suitcases yourself on your day of checkout and charge $5 or $7 a locker to do so !! - terrible for a hotel to lower itself to do this.. Old air conditioners, the noisy ones. Old tv, not digital not many channels 5?. No free breakfast - that might have encouraged me to try it again in the future - but no.
Great location, very comfortable, safe and quiet.
Was very pleased with room and the comfort of the bed!!! Great sleep and really enjoyed the plasma tv Tv signal was broken / internittant in room 223
The location, comfort and friendly staff.
Big thumbs up for the upgrade with the room. Staff very friendly and hotel handy to all the shops and nightlife. Very enjoyable stay and would come again All Good thanks
Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The Victoria All Seasons Hotel is situated right in the center of Melbourne's CBD, therefore, absolutely everything is easy to get to, including the transport system.
The hotel was comfortable, clean, and staff were polite. The wifi was unusable it was so slow.
Location in the city of Melbourne is fantastic - access to public transport and right in the CBD. Well appointed room - small but very comfortable with modern amenities and decor.
the fact it is across from Flinders St train station and close to the city
The service & hospitality was great. I really enjoyed my stay. Its close to everything too.
The location of this hotel is perfect for trains, trams, city ,walking annywhere. The hotel is situated on a main road and opposite a train station but to our surprise once in your room there was no noise whatso ever. Rooms must be sound proofed and no noise in corridors. Wouls recommend this Hotel to everyone.
Great location and great staff The bed linen was not clean with hair and marks all over the doona.
The position of the accomodation was very central for travel by train or tram. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The meal we had through room service wasn't very appetizing. I was extremely dissappointed with the house salad. We reserved a twin room but ended up with a king.
as a train traveller the proximity to the train station was excellent Shower over bath not suitable for older persons.
It was a great hotel to stay at. Really good service and staffPlease write at least 15 words
We enjoyed the position of the hotel. The service was exelent. Also the price. The gym was great. Missed not having a pool.
comfortable bed. pleasant staff. clean room. the layout of the room - the door was situated opposite the bed. Result in lack of privacy whenever door was opened. No extra pillows in cupboard - only 1 pillow per person. Movie option on TV didn't work.
Doubletree at Flinders has all the makings of a being lovely hotel -- warm service, well-maintained rooms and in a very accessible location right next to the tram stops and Flinders Station. 3 major drawbacks -- a city centre hotel without free in-room wifi access [there is access at a prohibitive price] is really unacceptable in this digital age, and shows a shortsightedness one does not expect from a Hilton brand. Whether you're travelling on business or leisure in Melbourne, wifi access is a must as this is a city firmly in the digital age, and Doubletree shows it lack of vision by not being up to speed. The pillows were terribly poor quality -- flat, with all the fluffiness gone out of them. Made for a very uncomfortable sleep. Surprising as one would think Hilton would get this fundamental right. The area immediately around the hotel is dodgy -- with vagrants, drunks, homeless and the general underbelly of a city you hope not to see. Not much Doubletree can do about this, though, as it's a sacrifice you make for train access. But if you're a single traveller, and have to move about early morning or late at night, be careful. It may not be the best spot to be in.
Ease of car parking - the valet service the sound proofing of the rooms
Great location to shops, chinatown and easy walk to rest of cbd
The central location, good room size, friendly staff
Staff was very friendly and helpful at the check in and check out counters and especially at the concierge section where they very patiently helped people with directions/booking tours etc. The breakfast room (Louden) was not very imposing, carpets were dirty due to heavy use, furniture very basic. About half an hour before closing time staff are already clearing and moving/re-arranging tables with a lot of racket, preparing for what one assumes, the lunch session. The view from the breakfast room onto the ally alongside is also nothing to be proud of - although not the fault of the hotel.
Room was, in fact, a mini-suite with microwave (well concealed in fitment) etc. Therefore useful if too late for b'fast! Very helpful concierge and front desk staff. Name of hotel seems to confuse taxi drivers. Is it the Swanston or the Grand Mercure? (Mercure aka Welcome Hotel adjoins)
Supposedly a 4 star hotel. Desapointing. Lot's of teenagers, reception needing room key to secure access after 21:00, not the cleanest.
The location in the centre of Melbourne was very good, as I had meeting in Mebourne. The check in & leaving good with no delays. No complaints
great location for shopping. for a 4.5 star hotel did not think the room was luxurios enough and the bathroom needed updating, bit run down.
efficiency and courtesy of staff with any requests/check in-out
Great view and service.
loved the proximity to the business district I felt the bathroom let the place down, it was not very pleasant to sit on the tiolet and have mould around the bath at eye level
Cooking is very easy and very convenience..
I like the convenience of being right on the doorstep of the city central area and close to all the attractions
Easy walk to good eating places on Swanston & Little Bourke. Reasonably close to tram stops to Kew & Victoria Street to Chinese grocery shops. Close to National Gallery of Vic - great exhibition. The furniture in the room looks old, well used in some areas, worn out. The smell in the room was not pleasant, but hotel staff helped to remove the odour, not successfully though. I've given written feedback to the hotel.
We had a 2 bedroom suite which was nice and spacious for the 4 of us. I just have one comment - the hot water in the shower over the bath kept overriding the cold making it difficult to maintain the correct temperature.Otherwise all was fine. Just the shower problem as outlined above.
Self serviced apartment, with washing machine etc. None
good location, stylish decor, comfy, helpful staff bit noisy from the street, even on the ninth floor
close to everything great for shopping, easy access, close parking but usually the hotel gives you free parking our coffee cups had lipstick marks over the tops of both mugs same with 2 cups... which i find disgusting, and we asked forlate checkout and was woken by a little asian man at 10 am wanting to clean our room... not happy
The staff were very good under a difficult and embarassing situation.
the kitchen was hard to get the airconditioning to the right temperature. it was way too hot at night. and there was one morning when there was no hot water for shower.
Comfortable, and located well to city Nothing
Centrally located, and close to many good cafes and restaurants. Charging $25 per day for WiFi, but I understand that this is the Australian norm.
The kitchenette including microwave, I found it very useful. The gym and the proximity to the CBD were also very handy.
The spacious apartment and close access to the main shopping precinct. The air conditioning was inadequate, and the whole parking of our car and retrieving it was a disaster!
The unit was spacious, clean and quiet with a good level of security. Having a pool and gym on the premises was also a bonus. The only thing all five of us really noticed was that the mattresses on the beds were hard and the queen size mattress was actually two singles pushed together, with a definite fall/sinking to one side
Room was clean and served it's purpose admirably for the 2 nights I stayed in the hotel. -- Wifi isn't free (after low limit) -- Wifi limit 100 MB which is not really enough to do anything for an extended period of time & it's $9.99/night for unlimited which is too high. -- Wifi strength was not great -- Hotel claims to be "apartment-style" room, however my room was exactly like every other hotel I've stayed at. A work colleague said his was larger, I'm just lucky like that I guess.
Helpful staff assistance and positive attitude whilst dealing with repetitive Inconvenience caused by faulty security software
Convenience for shopping in cbd while I was working
2 bedroom both with ensuites We where on the 19th floor but the street noise was very noticeable double glazing would be the answer once 5 am came around very hard to sleep Would I stay again ???? maybe not This was my second time at hotel this time I slept in b/room closest to road last time family member to complain about traffic/people noise coming from street
Very nice check in staff - especially the tall young man with the glasses who was there early in the morning when we arrived and went out of his way to organize early check in..very good for interstate guess such as us and because of this we would definitely stay with you again. no
Location, comfort, service, layout Nothing
Serves its purpose.
The hotel was really nice. I would definitely recommend for a stay in Melbourne
Hotel was lovely and the rooms were a great size. Would definatly stay there again. Getting stuck in the elevator for 1 1/2 hours on the way to dinner not so great. Trying to sort out compensation of some kind at the moment.
Friendly Stadd and very helpful unlike Sydney (Darling Harbour)
convinience of being in the centre of the city, excellent facilities, chocolates and apples was a lovely touch, breakfast was very pleasant just a bit of rust on the windows near the spa area didn't look good
Central to our weekend activities The noise of the lift travelling up and down
Very convenient, comfortable and the staff very helpful. Will stay with you again.
the convenience of the location no complaints
Pleasant staff allowed us to check in early. Large room. The rate was a little high
The hotel was in a very convenient location. It was within walking distance of many things to do and see, as well as great restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we had questions about how to get to specific locations and offered good suggestions about things to do in the area.
The comfortable and relaxing atmosphere was appreciated.
Central to the main attractions of Melbourne. Decor needs to be upgraded i.e. sold to us as an executive Queen Room. What we found was no quite that.
Location The room was quite dated and worn
