It's very private and peaceful. Great place for honeymoon compared to chaweng beach. Staff Thorn and OR are very friendly and approachable making our stay more comfortable. Sometimes service can be very slow and at times the staff didn't get back to us and we have to chase them. We found mosquitoes breeding in two of the flower pots in the bathroom. There should be preventive measures and awareness of such issues. Cleanliness of the room is below standard and the toilet always smells. Vacuum n mop should b use to clean the room. I notice that broom that was use to swipe the pool side was use to clean the room which is highly unhygienic. Cleaning product should be used to clean the floor and the toilet.
peaceful The cleanliness of the Villa
Location & Comfy Never Cleaned the pool. Spiders&Lizards feista
Design of hotel & calmness that's it No see at all to swim, misleadind for the gusts, not clean pool, soap had teeth marks by rats, pool had too many insects & dirt was never cleaned by staff, dead insects all over the room, pool was shallow to swim, dirty, and never clorinated, breakfast very poor if a guest is late for breakfast stays hungry, towels in the room were old & over used with threads hunging same for room robes.
The privacy of the room, the bathroom and the gentleness of the staff at the reception The room was not very clean. The pool of our villa is full of leaves and bugs and the pillows of the deckchair were very dirty!
Brand new resort, maybe a bit too new! They are still working things out! Excellent food at the restaurant, good size portions, very fresh, except the Australian Rib eye was not rib eye and was very fatty! Very friendly staff, helpful with every enquiry. Very modern design, but cheap materials have been used. Dont think the resort will age well which is unfortunate as this style of resort should be sucessful. The beach view is nice, but the tide is out all the time, which doesn't matter. But to encourage more people to be on the beach to play beach volleyball etc beach cleaned every day to get rid of the rubbish & broken glass!
The staff were exceptionally welcoming. They couldnt do enough for us. Our stay was great.
design the beach might be better
there was no beach and sea to swim
Enjoying my holydays, the city was very close, either walk or bike taxis and taxis. the two beaches where excellent. the only thing was, the chairs on the beach where not clean, it seemd, nobody cared about them. and the prices in the restaurant are pretty high depending on the ones in the village.
The private, sandy beach is really great and good for families/kids, too. My "First room" included everything necessary for reasonable money. The resort itself is well kept and clean, swimming pool included. One can buy all necessary items at the surrounding shops. If you are keen on a long walk you can either go to Chawng or Lamai. But it will take you about 20-30 min minimum. Use a Tuk-tuk instead. Only thing not so fine was the fact that the transfer from and to the airport was not included in the price. So I had to pay 700 Baht extra...
very spacious and comfortable rooms, amazing swimming pool, fantastic beach, very close to town. the food in the restaurant for breakfast was not safe at all due to its exposure to open air and insects being around and on the food !!
the hospitality was plesent it lookedmuch better in the pictures than fromreal life,it is a really avarage hotel, almost a hostel
Excellent breakfast, location, facilities, staff and organization Need free hotel transport to and from the airport.
Close proximity to the beach. Quiet, efficient air con. Great pool and lovely gardens which were extremely well looked after. The beach area was not looked after at all.
on the beach, staff were friendly room was dirty, and smelled very musty
The quiet area, great beach and swimming The treatments at the Spa are expensive ,pool is a bit small. Personnel could improve their english.
The thai people. Chaweng noi beach. Happy hour in the bar. Breakfast was fantastic. Everything ! The pool is in a dark area so it didnt get used much by the guests. The entertainment in the hotel was the same most nights and as the restaurant is quite pricey I would expect much more. The hotel courtesy bus into chaweng should be more frequent. The beach bar is way too pricey.
Good location right at the beach. Nice beach and clear water and good restaurants along the beach.
Nice location in quiet part of Chaweng, the staff was helpful. The rooms facing the road are very noisy, making it terrible to sleep at night - that must be changed for guests' sanity.
friendlyness of staff
Spa is excellent, beach is wonderful, quet location away from center crowds and music Breakfast was quite poor
My son was married in Koh Samui and I thought it was great to be able to spend quality time with everyone who went to the wedding because my son lives in London and I hadn't seen him for 2 1/2 years. The beds could have been a little softer.
Fantastic food every single time we ate at the restaurants..they also have an extensive menu with very reasonable prices for high quality food. The staff were amazing...very attentive and professional. Lovely day spa too Its too far to walk to Chaweng town for shopping and nightlife
great restuarants on the beach right outside the hotel the standard room is quite small and no sea view or verandah
The Standard room are poor. Hotel Location in the Beach are the best in samui
-The staff are very friendly and always willing to help -food well priced for location and service. - well airconditioned rooms with plenty of bottled water -the bed are very hard -the breakfeast choice is very limited with breakfeast voucher. -public access to beach and bar passing though the middle of hotel and facilities made it very noisey especially late at night and early morning making it hard to sleep. -No clothes Iron available in rooms. - to many power blackouts rendering the rooms in darkness a backup generator would be good. - we would only recomend Ark Bar to younger travellers who want to party 24 hrs
Being close to everything... especially the beach, restaurants and shopping! Prices were very good and staff were very friendly and helped you with anything you needed or asked for. We were very lucky to be upgraded to the junior suite which was amazing... very clean and modern! Music in the morning was a little intense especially after a big night, would much prefer laid back music. Sometimes after the cleaners would clean the room they forgot on a few occasions to replace toilet paper and fresh shower towels... but apart from that they did an amazing job! Also didn't like the layout of the bathroom.. would've preferred that the shower and toilet have a step and be separated
I thought the breakfast was awesome except that the toast was never cooked properly it being done on one side only although the waitress attended to it promptly. If the room I had was classed as Superior then I would have liked to have viewed a 'Standard'.
Very good location in Chaweng. Close to beach and night life. Modern rooms, clean and all necessary facilities there. Noisy people returning from the bars during the whole night. Hardly any view from rooms.
The near to the beach and the city chaweng beach road was very good. The breakfast in the hotel was abundant - you can choose 5 things - for examle scrambled egg, cornflakes with milk, toast with butter and jam, fruits, pancake mit syrup... At the beach you have enough deck chairs and sunshades. The room was small with new furnitures and clean. You get towels for the beach. Room cleaning every day was very good. the staff did not speak enough good english. next to our room every 3 nights it was very loud - a party groop was there and made party every morning after coming back from disco at 5 am. After we called the reception it was quiet! At check the staff didn't wish us a nice trip/flight and didn't say goodby. :-(
The comfort, the beach, the bar, the staff and the location
Great location, nice staff, tasty breakfast Construction work on site didn't mind too much because we weren't in the room during the day and it finished at 6 in the evening.expensive restaurant sandwich, omlette, chips and 2 soft drinks cost us 15 euro.no free wi Fi
I loved the location, nightlife, food, ambience, facilities and staff. Too many vendors on the beach...
The only plus - nice rooms. If you like jets flying over your head night and day, dozens of drunk misfits screaming and puking all over the place, no privacy and no peace and quiet whatsoever, filthy little pool, indifferent staff and the dirtiest part of the beach - come to Ark Bar.
The beach bar is really excellent, especially on beach party night each Wednesday. I enjoyed my stay at the Ark Bar Beach Resort and I would return. The bathrooms and shower facilty are very basic, however this can be overlooked as the bed was very comfortable and even though the bar is in very close proximity to the rooms it is suffieciently quiet to get to sleep.
good location No one bothered to tell us there will be construction work at 8 a.m. in the morning. When we complained about it the manager was very rude and did not care, and even claimed they "upgraded us" upon arrivel even though we got exactly the room we had reserved, and of course nobody mentioned any upgrade when we checked in.
very nice place to stay for a long time and enjoy all their facilities and sandy beach.
great place to stay on the beach friendly staff.love the fact you have a beach basket for you towels etc
the service at our stay from welcome to leaving was second to none.
The hotel has nice pool areas and garden, but a minus that you can not see the sea from the hotel. You have no view of the beach and sea until you are right in front of it. They have nice lobby area and nice clean hotel rooms. The beach restaurant has lovely view and is quite nice, but a bit dark. Also the buffets are more expensive than the other two hotels we stayed in. In the area there are many loose dogs and cats, and two small kittens seem to be living around the lobby/breakfast area and the first floor terraces. Some guest feed the cats during breakfast and the cats sleep on the chairs when there is no people there. This caused an allergy problem for my son who is very allergic to cats. The waitress tried to take the cats away, but they came right back. This problem made us change hotel, so not recommended for people with allergy.
Very big main pool, small children pool. On the beach 2 more pools. Good restaurant on the beach. Check in took more than 1 hour. They said to us that we have to pay our stay complete before we can go to room. Finally I paid 4 nights at time and then 3 nights when we left. The staff was first really critical to us and after complaining they try to lick as much as possible. Not so nice :(
I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The location was perfect being literally on the beach & only a 5 minute walk to the fantastic "Fishermans Village". Felt very comfortable at the hotel & was great for my 18 month old baby. The only negative was the restaurants in the hotel were a little pricey but then there was no reason to eat there as so many other choices nearby.
big swimming pools, lovely room none
Fantastic location and setting, beautiful garden. Walking distance to Fishermans Village (Restaurants and shopping) Although the beach is nice the water is not clear.
Fantastic pool Staff were poorly trained. Breakfast room & breakfast was low quality.
the hotel was so clean and all the staff were so helpful. food was the best i ate whilst in samui. i would definitely reccomend to anybody absolutely no complaints at all
Everything. The building noise next door when in having a spa treatment. They offered 30% discount for hotel guests at spa, however because I didn't ask for it I didn't receive the discount.
Directly on the beach, beautiful rooms comfortable and thai traditional.Quiet garden even if this hotel is on Chaweng beach road. Close to the restaurants and nightlife spots The pool is too small. Expensive hotel if you pay directly on the website. With Booking.com it's much better as I got 33% discount.
We enjoyed the breakfasts and the attentive staff. We were close to everything we needed and nice beach frontge
everything, it was perfect, very nice beach, not too crowded, very good breakfast and very helpful staff!
Very good location in centre of busy Chaweng beach. Small boutique style hotel excellent service, friendly staff ,pool and gardens very attractive , rooms very clean close to shopping Rooms were on the small side
the greenery, lighting, coconuts, beach... the pool is way too small and uninteresting. there could be a table with chairs inside to play cards or something..
We liked the small size ,position and friendly staff. The beachfront and pool area was excellent. We had a great time and would stay there again.
Not too big, not too small, just the right size hotel. Great service, great relaxing atmosphere. Great beach, excellent size villas.(we stayed room26) Breakfast was great too. Nothing we didn't like about this place or the staff. Cheap eats right in front of the hotel across the road called Ninja Crepes. Strange name yes but great cheap food! Yes there were some mosquitoes but in our room it didn't cause any isses. They make an effort to get rid of them with oils and sprays and good mosquito nets over the bed. (I got bitten but as soon as i put cream on it calmed down. Mosquitoes here are not visious.)
Very good location, the rooms are clean and finely decorated in a typical thai style. The restaurant is really good and so it's its staff We stay in a superior room with a private deep pool ( but there were other costumers in their balqony just over the pool, so it came to be not so private).Building works were in process in the field next to the hotel, and it was very noisy since early in the morning. We were moved to other room on our request. the receptionists were not helpfull and quite unfriendly.
services, facilities, kindness of everyone climatisation that stops when you leave your room
Most of the guests didn't venture into the sea probably because of the surf and as a result it was very peacefull and enjpyable. The villa we stayed at didn't represent the star ranking of the hotel and the price charged at all.
The pool is nice I didnt like the location, and i dont like where the breakfast is eaten in a dining room i think its nicer if it is outside.
privecy , serves , location , nuturalty , reseptionest
We would definetely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants relaxed vacations in a quite environment but at the same time near Chaweng's Downtown ( 5 minutes with a cheap tuk-tuk or taxi). We loved everything in this hotel, from the friendly and smiley staff to the great (and not expensive) food at the restaurant , the rich breakfast buffet, the excellent spa, the beach (better and definitely cleaner than Chaweng's central beach) and the beautiful gardens. We stayed at a Nora pool villa which turned to be an excellent option with private swimming pool surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees, beautiful and spacious interior ,cleaned every day.The service by the staff was great from the reception to the girls at the restaurant and the drivers Understanding staff's english was sometimes difficult but that is because of the different thai pronunciation. At the end we get used at the local pronunciation ...so...no problem at all.
We found the resort and staff to be lovely. We will surely come back to stay again!
The location of the Hotel was superb. I lioked nothing about the Hotel
The best thing is the location of the Hotel. It’s just a five minute walk to the center of Chaweng. --- Die Lage ist sicherlich das Beste an diesem Hotel: Nur fünf Minuten zum Zentrum von Chaweng. Well a lot. The resort is not very well aged and needs desperately a fundamental refurbishment. Had to change my room three times because of low water pressure, no warm water, toilet and electricity problems. In such cases the staffs is massively overextended due incompetence and poor English abilities. On an international standard it’s never a four stars hotel. Last but not least it’s located on a part of Chaweng beach where the water is not deeper than 50 cm witch makes swimming a bit tricky.
the room were nice. a lot of things..... this is suppose to be a 4 star hotel, but when you get to the restaurant, they never had what they offer in the menu. the hotel is extremely far from any of the island attraction, the beaches or clubs. Also they offer airport transportation but doesnt offer transportation to the pier, wich is one of the main and cheapest ways to get to the island and its near the hotel than the airport. Other thing is that the hotel staff doesnt speak or understand English, so if you want to order anything is almost impposible to get.
Great location in a lush tropical gardens with palm trees, frangipane bushes in blossom, large butterflies and quiet. Made for realxation in pristine swiming pool with view to islands and occasional dip in the shallow sea. We came in the end of October and there were a very few tourists there in our resort. As we were seeking relaxation and quiet, it suited us perfectly. We were surprised by the high cost of the transfer from the airport to the hotel that was at least the double of the price we would pay in Bangkok for a trip of similar length (cca 25 km one way). However, cost of transport is a typical Koh Samui feature and is not particular to the Banburee resort.
The resort is extremely well maintained and set away in a quiet spot in Koh Samui. The staff are quite friendly and unassuming and are usually very keen to help. Mostly, I didnt find a huge salesy touch to their quality of service and most of them were genuinely pleasant and willing to help The hotel's obviously away from the main beaches and I'm sure this is intentional. This said, its a bit lonely around the hotel at night and I daresay its scary to venture out after dark. We got a scooter, so that was easy but I wouldnt recommend walking out, because its an extremely lonely patch outside. I think its also problem with most of Thailand that most people dont speak English too well.
Only there for 1 night. Staff very freindly and helpful.Food good. Nothing
The location of the hotel was just perfect and the view was absolutely serene
Excellent service and attention. Very comfortable accomodation. Good breakfast buffet. Nice view on the sea. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
nice landscape, very calm area, comfortable and well equipped villas the beach is not available the cousine poor quality
Very nice pool, Deluxe villa was nice for the family to stay, spa/massage services, nice surroundings, great view to the sea, friendly staff It would be nice to have a small grocery store (7/11 or Family Mart) near the hotel, or the hotel could provide easy connections to the nearest store. More shuttles should be available to Lamai/Chaweng and back.
Friendly staff. Noticed when we were at breakfast/pool and tried to clean the room at that time, to maximize our convenience. Too many young male staff hanging around the pool, staring at the guests. Need to be a bit more discreet.
Everything was perfect. The staff is just excellent there. My my fractured her toe in the gym (her mistake) and the staff did everything possible to make sure we all were taken care of and comfortable. This included changing her room to a more convenient location on the ground floor of a building as close as possible to the reception area, a buggy whenever we wanted to go out, etc etc. By far, the best hotel in Samui.
Very friendly staff, and beautifull hotel when the works are finished. It's a bit far from from the city and more then half of the hotel and the facilities are not finished yet. When finished it's a fantastic hotel!
A terrific luxury room in a spectacular hotel. Excellent pool. The best breakfast we have ever encountered. Sensational choice and all fresh. Many of the amenities like the gym and second pool were not ready at the time we stayed. The hotel land block is very steep and a challenge when returning at night. Although the room was stunning in design and spacious, we had booked a Deluxe Seaview room but it did not have a sea view. We had to stand on tip toe and lean over to catch a glimpse of any ocean. We were very disappointed.
Location. Room. We stayed in a pool villa which was excellant. The staff is friendly but if compared to Banyan Tree rersorts , they still have much to learn.... I have noted that booking.com mentioned below that I booked a Deluxe room while I booked the Pool Vila and that what we have got. The booking for the other members of the party was for deluxe rooms. The resort is located less than 5 minutes slow drive from the airport. As such , one should expect a free shuttle to and from the location. If you wish to use the hotel shuttle be ready to pay relatively high amount of money (when compared to other local transportation)..
the hotel staff was friendly and i liked the room it was excellent it gave us a lot of privacy. no 24hours room service
The hotel staff were very kind and welcoming. The staff provided personnel treatment due to small number of rooms. It is a very boutique service, the restaurant, serves great food, and breakfast menu is rich. The staff helped us locating nice retreat beaches, and renting a scooter for the day....The day you enter you are given the choice of the Scent you wish in your room.....I should keep the surprise Nothing, everything was of superior standards. If only this would include tea/coffee complimentary in the room. I think this just forgot about it cuz there was a boiling kettle in the room.
The hotel is situated in front of a beautiful beach (it is the most beautiful part in Chaweng, far away from noisy beach bars and too many people). The spa is very nice and its staff very professional. The entrance side to the rooms is not very nice (building on the left from reception). There are works in progress opposite the building and you don't have a nice view leaving or entering the room.
Very nice and fairly small hotel with an Italian resturang with absolutely fantastic Italian food.
The staff went out of there way to make me comfortable, and the beauty of koh samui is unbeatable!
The infinity pool and the beach location
seaside hotel, friendly staff, free canoe no free wifi.
We were treated like family at this delightful stylish relaxing property with sensational views over an infinity pool to Chaweng Beach. Great water features in the main wing. The pool area is a little bit small so you have to be quick to secure a prime spot!
ambience to make the door into the bathroom opaque and with latch
The rooms were clean enough and good looking. too small territory, no gym
A nice, small hotel at the north end of Chaweng beach, meaning more quiet and relaxed (positive) than the most busy part of Chaweng. Nice pool, but a bit limited space around for sun chairs. Facilities OK - the restaurant is great! Has fantastic Italian as well as Thai food - all day! (and also a nice breakfast buffet). Friendly and helpful staff. Some of the rooms and villas needs upgrading, but we had a very nice villa close to the pool and restaurant. Beach/sea: you have to walk quite a bit for swimming (shallow water), and when high water, it goes all the way to the stairs to the hotel. But fantastic view from the pool, and nice area on "beach" for small children, playing football etc. More/bigger beach area just "next door", as well as water sports.
the rooms were very clean, nice smelling and fresh. the staff was polite and very friendly. the hotel was in great location
Staff well mannered and pleasant. Well maintained Beach front below expectation of a beach hotel in Koh Samui. Parking facility is not adequate.
I stayed only one night but I believe there is great value and benefit. To the South part of Chaweng (yai) on the main road and away from the big noise of the nightlife (350 m). 20M from the beach of chaweng
That is was on the beach and there was a good buffet breakfast. Our room was not ready when we arrived and the room we were given on the ground floor of the main block looked out onto a wall and was noisy as it was right next to the maintenance office. The communal areas were a bit tired looking and in need of a touch up. The pool did not look very clean. The hotel allowed guest to leave their towels on pool loungers all day even if they hardly used them which is a pet hat of mine as it is very selfish.
hotel was near the noisy street.and the location is about 10 min. walk to the "downtown"
enjoyed being beside the beach the resturant was beautiful on the beach and the pool was very relaxing no
good location slightly outside the center but we walked many a night or just jumped in a taxi fot 150 bhat (3 adults and 1 child),, excellent cleanliness of rooms, family friendly hotel. lovely beach area and slightly quieter end for a more relaxing holiday some ameneties are needing a bit of renewel, but they are starting work on the pool area next month. we stayed in a bungalow very good location in hotel and well decorated , spacious and clean, however also had a relative staying in hotel room, room was on the road side without balcony,, room was very large in size king size and single bed only problem was the noise from outside,, loud music sometimes at night and traffic noise.
we really enjoyed our time in cove resotel ! we know we will come stay there next time, and we will recommend it! thank you!
We loved the idea that the hotel was in a good location. The beach was right on your doorstep, which wasn't at all that busy. Shops and restaurants were easily reached and very cheap. Running out of beach towels by midday and having to wait 30 minutes for new ones.
Friendly staff, nice pools, breakfast was good, great shower! Overall a nice place to stay Internet expensive, view from the street facing hotel room isnt very nice..though that is not the hotel's fault!
We stayed in a superior room with balcony on 3rd floor for 5 nights. The hotel is just on the beach and very close to Chaweng Beach center, just 10-15 min away by foot. The hotel is very clean, quite and has big rooms. We had a king size bed and higher than normal beds but we could see the beach when layed on, especially it was nice to wake up with a sea view. The hotel provides you a water heating machine, free two bottles of water everyday and coffee. It has a big balcony, it was nice to sit by a sea view, read your book when it is raining and drink coffee. But don't forget to bring fly-repellent sprays, because mosquitos in Koh Samui loves foreigners. We really enjoyed our stay.. Bathroom needs renovation but it was ok since it is clean. The bed is harder than regular hotel beds, it was ok for us but could be a problem for soft bed lovers. There was a construction on the beach restaurant which was about to finish.
only the beach front and location i dont like the room very deferend from the wesite pictures, the breakfast very limited choice
