The buffet breakfast was very fresh and well stocked. Staff were friendly. A bar and lounge area would have been nice. Not the hotels fault but there was always a busker playing on the street till early hours of the morning keeping us awake.
Breakfast and location was great! Beds were not comfortable, room size was extremely small for 2 people.
hotel in the middle of Madrid it was very clean and staff all very helfull and friendly
decent size room ,good heating available in room when needed and a great location for shopping and sight seeing, breakfast was very good value
Location, size of the room, comfortable bed Extremely cold room, freezing bathroom. Despite having the fan maximum temperature for more than 12 hours, the Room was really cold, the bed shits: poor , and the bathroom....a fridge. The restaurant is on the top floor and theres a little path roofless to get there. In spite of asking for late check-out and having the add on the internet, it was 12:00 the max check-out hour permitted. All in all, expensive for the services offered
The location was perfect! Small rooms and very poor breakfast, the breakfastbuffet was small and you did not get value for money, choose room whitout breakfast!
The hotel was in a great location and very close to Puerta del Sol station, also within walking distance of Grand Via. The room and breakfast were great. The shower drain would leak after we would have a shower.
The location, in the middle of middle of Madrid. The bed was very good. Bathroom big and good.To have a laptop free at the room! Two small balconys was good. The room was clean, the maid did a good job! When we were late to go out...she stayed longer, so she could clean after us. Very nice & thoughtful of her. Thanks a Lot!! My first visit to Madrid...and I will come back. Me Encanta Madrid :) It was cold in the room, think temperature didn't work, tried to turn it up, it went very cold in bathroom floor.Room could have been a bit bigger, with one more chair & table
The room, although not large, had everything we needed. It was kept very clean with good shower and toilet facilities and it was an advantage having a balcony. Proximity to city centre was very handy. The breakfast lived up to expectations.
Nothing!!! The location & hotel was not as described on your website!!! The area is extremely noisy, dirty & dangerous. The hotel is a one star hotel with no soundproofing, small & dirty rooms that are beyond worn. We stayed at a different hotel in Madrid for only 15 Euros more and it was 500% better and in a beautiful area of Madrid. This hotel was a disgrace and noone should consider it a good option!!!
Great location, Clean, great breakfast No Foyer to sit and relax with friends
location AC too weak
The location is excellent, in the center of the city, near from two metro station, some theaters and restaurants. The breakfast was disorganized end staffs of the restaurant were antiparticle. Recommender to eat en front of the hotel , en restaurant VITAMINA.
Location Rooms needed new paint on walls. Minor repairs would have made a lot of difference.
Very centrally located, excellent breakfast, clean, plenty of hot water, quiet, good staff. Small room for 3 people, uncomfortable beds, small old bathroom, heating not working properly
The location couldn't have been better and although the hotel wasn't anything special it was clean and comfortable...and really good value! It was a bit "worn out"...but really nothing to complain about.
Good location. The hotel staff were not helpful and provided incorrect information when requested. The bed size was not large, as reported at the time of booking and the staff responded that for bigger bed, we need to pay extra fee. Breakfast was served badly and lacked food.
clean, new furniture, conveniently located no hot water twice in 4 days due to problems with the boiler! I hope it was just an occasional problem
Hotel was clean, quiet and right in the center of Madrid. All in all, good value for money. The family room was quite small for 3-4 persons. The air conditioning device was old, a bit noisy, and had difficulty at times coping with the sweltering heat outside.
Front desk staff was very helpful. The hotel is centrally located. Our towels were not changed during a three night stay. The safe in our room did not work and even though we reported it, it was not fixed for the duration of our stay.
that the hotel is downtown
The location was good. The staff was not helpful at all. There was a long queue at both check in and check out. Upon check in we were not given any instructions about the breakfast that was included in our rate and consequently we needless paid twice for our meal. Since we had booked online, the hotel was "unable" to make restitution. I would never stay at this hotel again or recommend it. There are too many other wonderful options available in Madrid. establishment.
They were very friendly and the location was excellent. I was traveling by myself and I felt safe the entire time. It got really hot in the room and there was no other way to turn the temperature down because the heating was still on for the winter. Leaving the window open during the night was bothersome because there was a lot of noise down in the street.
Room was comfortable and great location Internet connection in the business centre was too slow!
My boyfriend and I stayed here with extended family for a week. Great location, everyone that worked there was really nice/helpful and the rooms were great. So happy to have stayed here during our European adventure! Breakfast/buffet was not included in our stay but there are great little breakfast spots for a cheaper price right down the road from the hotel. workout facilities were a little older
Great location, double glazed for noise outside, which is abundant as it's right in the city center. Air conditioner, Tv monitor which is also a computer screeen. I didn't expect carpets on floors and some surfaces in a 4 star hotel and in a hot country like Spain. It makes the rooms very stuffy. Also the bath quite claustrophobic, narrow, left very little room for movement in what it looked like more like a niche in a cemetery.
The location and my room was cozy for a single occupant no cork screw in room -- minor
modern, centrally located. Able to get quiet ground floor room (no need to use elevator) location is in the Red Light District--many "characters" loitering about
The location was GREAT!!!!! One block away from main street, so quiet in the evening, and perfect during the day. I would definitely stay here again!!!
Location & comfort of the rooms. Concierges were very helpful General off hand manner of all waiters and bar staff.
Great room, nice size, clean bigger bathroom than expected. Terrific restaurant with delicious coffee and pastries. We arrived well ahead of check-in and were graciously given our 2 rooms hours early with a smile. The street noise could be heard in room, somewhat.
Staff courtesy ,amiability .Clean enviroment
Good location and very central for sight seeing / shopping Room could have done with a clean; there was a big ball of dust next to the bed.Walls quite thin and could hear people in the room next to me talking.
It is very conveniently placed for all the major sites, + the metro for airport access
I liked the location in the heart of Madrid surrounded by places of interest, shops, restaurants etc. The room has rather big, clean and tidy bathroom which I like very much. The style is simple but pleasant and the building I think is of the begining of 20th century (or the end of 19th) and is rather pretty. The location on Plaza Puerto del Sol has the opposite side. Of course it's one of the main squares of the city but due to that it's never empty even at 4 o'clock of the morning. The people are talking rather loudly all night long and though they didn't shout and there was no disco etc but these endless talking under my closed window was enough not to let me sleep well. And they have a strange tradition in Spain to take away garbage at 12 or 1 o'clock of the night (even at 3 o'clock sometimes), and this process of cleaning is reall loud, it was like alarm clock for me. But if you have no problems with sleep or you are going to have an active night life than this hotel is perfect (if you're not in search of luxury of course). Good 3*.
Hotel was centrally located and convenient to everything. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast had cereal, eggs, fruit, etc. Nothing.
Location, walking distance to everything and close to the metro station, this could be a like or dislike, but you have to leave your key at the front desk when you leave, and then just pick up at the front desk when you return. No risk of losing the key, so I liked this requirement no dresser for clothes, just one small closet, so plan on living out of your suitcase if you are traveling with a lot of luggage/clothes
Location, location, location!together with high quality and wonderful staff, great value, we had a wonderful experience! nop
It's centrally located, kind and informative staff and nice rooms for a reasonable price.
The central location. The nice, clean and modern room.
Excellent location. Staff helpfull and professional. Clean, nice size room w/small balcony. Hot water lacking at times in shower
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is as good as it gets. Also, though I missed my flight and came a day late to the hotel, they did not charge me for the night I missed, even though they would have been wthin their rights to do so, as I did not give 48 hours notice.
all was nice nothing
Clean, modern accommodation, well-tended by maid service, very comfortable bed. Service at the desk was very helpful and they were very attentive, spending as much time as I wanted for information and suggestions. Comprehensive breakfast buffet for 13 euros. Location in the center of Madrid is really excellent—close to main Metro stop and most sights within reasonable walking distance. Oh, and the shower was luxurious! Not much to fault at all. In fact—no complaints at all.
I shared with my brother and we had a lovely sized room. The shower was one of the best in Europe! No hot water/tea/coffee making facilities in room
The hotel location was great. Walking distance to many of the major sites of the city but on a quiet street near lots of good shopping and eating places. Our room had a smokey smell when we first arrived. Management offered a room switch but since we didn't want to change, they had the room sprayed and the next morning had all bed linens changed. After that the room was fine.
We had a complaint and it was dealt with immediately The first room we were given on the 5th floor was very noisey. So we were moved to a much nicer room on the 1st floor
Good location The room was too hot, and the heating could not be turned down, when we opened a window, the room filled with cigarette smoke.
Location was very central. Very comfortable hotel, spacious and well maintained. Staff very nice and one particular barman was very helpful. No tea or coffee making facilities and my wife was not impressed with the hair dryer as it just burned your head instead of drying hair.
very nice, comfortable and spotless rooms
Four star hotel at a very reasonable price I met the manager James and he was very helpful and friendly and very young. I was at the hotel lfor 10 days and had no complaints. Miquie and German who preped the breakfast were very cordial and polite and smiley and the coffee was good too .... Good thing there was no noise the hotel is on a quiet street even can't hear the neighbors next-door......
Great location, good rooms for sleeping, friendly employees... No "view" at the back of the hotel but we only went in to sleep so no problem.
The balcony from our room was an added bonus. It was nice to use to enjoy a bit of the sun. Also the breakfast was great, with a lot to choose from. It was quite warm in the room and you couldn't adjust the temp.
We loved the room, great big bed and lovely heated bathroom. Excellent choice at breakfast and the location couldn't be beaten. Had a lovely time! Great for our anniversary!
location...hall..friendly staff rooms are small,,,internet costy
It was central placed in Madrid No
The location was ideal, the use of the internet. The breakfast was very nice, tasty and fresh. No english speaking channels on the TV. The room was a bit small.
hotel had a great central location near lots of great bars and shops.staff very good toilet had damp smell
staff v friendly. good location. nice comfortable room. bikes one morning the shower was only warm, but that was fixed for remainder
Free wifi, Centro, quiet, friendly, clean, exellent bed. Smelly pipeline, water on bathroom floor after taiking shower.
Fantastic position and really helpful and friendly staff
Yes, there are several reasons that I will not return to this hotel. The hallways smelled of smoke and dog urine. The room's inside smelled of smoke and dampness. I felt the sheets were dirty. I thought the room was too small for the price.
Situation in Madrid, Internet access in Room No info on what number to call to get recpetion
The location to the Plaza Major and Sol was perfect. The internet was reliable and accessible in the room. The showerhead was marvelous. The first room was very small and cramped, but after moving rooms, the second room was a bit more spacious.
This hotel is in a great location. It was easy to stroll around and see the sights and eat in great restaurants. Also, I felt safe here. The door is kept locked and is opened only by staff. The staff respect your privacy as well. This hotel should have a bar. The breakfast wasn't worth the 10 euros in my opinion. I hated the design of the shower! Impossible to have a shower and not flood the floor.
Just a block or two from Plaza Mayor and Sol. Most points of interest and diverse neighborhoods. The breakfast service was excellent. I also respect well executed retrofitting of old, historic old buildings. Minor, did not get one of the rooms with a French balcony.
Very nice location.Walking distance to main attraction.10 mins drive from Real Madrid station.Cooperative staff.Great stay. Recomended .Ronojoy Family room ,pretty small. No view.Surprising the bathroom door was full glass. It is difficult with family and kids.Had to stick paper around to cover. This is really not convinient. However can be solved with some artistic paper sticking.Bunker bed in family room.Could have been double bed for the money given.
The staff was very helpfull and hotel was quiet as is side street even if close to Gran Via Our room was under the roof so we couldn't stand straight in one part of the room.
the location of the hotel Rooms are too small, decoration and lighting too gloomy
Hotel was adequate but I feel there are better for the price in the area The rooms are dull and unwelcoming and service is minimal.
Location was very good, close to many major subway stations. On a lane off Gran Via (major road), so not too noisy. They gave us a smoking room despite our request for non-smoking for the first night of our stay.
The hotel was extremely clean and had great amenities. It was a great selection for a European Hotel. It was very modern and a pleasure to stay in. Also the location was close to all major sights.
The hotel was centrally situated in the city not far from the metro stop Gran Via. It was easy to access many shops and it was easy to walk to many of Madrid sights from the hotel. The hotel was on a small side street so there was no noise from passing traffic. It was clean and the staff were very friendly. The rooms were spotless and for the price a good size and offered a wonderful shower room. I would definitely stay here again.
Free wi-fi in the room. Good location. The room was too small.
The location of this hotel was perfect. We were easily able to navigate the city from our hotel. The room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast every morning was also wonderful. The room was much smaller than anticipated. It was not much of an issue as we spent most of our time touring and not in the room, but it was surprising upon opening the door.
Location, close to Gran Via. No parking and no drop off area in front of the hotel. Necessary to use public parking close to the hotel. Despite of discount for hotel guest it cost over 20 euros per day.
breakfast noisy doors
good breakfast.flexible arrangements let us store our luggage. relaxed feel to hotel. very goodlocation
Please write at least 15 words
Location is the main feature. Most attractions are within easy reach The room for 4 was a bit smalletr than expected and the use of bunk beds for adults is not recommended.
Location is perfect. Rooms are very small and very hot. Cannot control the temperature.
Location Noisy from outside
Very central location, good buffet breakfast. Very warm and stuffy - even in March. Needs air conditioning - essential in summer.
Great location. Friendly bi-lingual staff. Upper floor rooms have large balconies with views to Puerta del Sol. Laptop in the room. Decor is starting to get tires. Pieces of trim missing from the walls. Walls were dirty, with handprints. Room smelled badly. I had to sleep with the door open to the balcony, which made for a noisy night, since it sits right on the pedestrian area in a bar district. I think another room would have been fine.
The location ! The room !
The location was perfect. It was very close to everything I wanted to see. The staff was very helpful in providing a map. The bathroom was one of the best. Nice shower. I was not a fan of the room. It had no windows and was clausterphobic. It also was very noisy. Breakfast was a little weak compared to the other facilities traveling around Spain and Italy.
Very pleasant personnel, nice and clean bathroom with modern accessories. Perfect location - close to all the main sighseeing places. Room is rather small with not enough places to put the personal things (not a sinle bedside-table). Slight smell in the room as if it used to be a smoking one. Glass door to the bathroom which is not very closing very tight - so the room is defenitely not for romantic stay of a young couple.
Location, hotel staff.
I liked the interior decoration and the central location. And the sound proofing of the windows. No noise from the square at night. Some of the rooms (the one we used) are quite small.
Good and quite location, high tech rooms with laptops, nice breakfast and helpful staff at the reception with fair English. There was a technical problem with the room cards, we had to activate them several times each day from the reception desk to be able to open the room doors. But it is bearable when considering the all other good service and faci lities.
Location, Location and Location Cable TV was only in Spanish and German. Bathroom has no proper shower screen or floor drain, so that water go everywere. The room was at the back with no views.
Great staff. Courteous and accommodating. The room had stained carpeting and it had loose tiles and fixtures in the bathroom. The dining area for breakfast was also a bit run down. Overall the hotel needs some work.
Quiet in a central location. Everything was great and I really loved the balcony....
1. Great location 2. clean and organized 3. Very good hotel staff
good Hitec hotel, good breakfast, ' quite and exelent location
The location, the design, the cleaniless No coffee or tea available even in he lobby.Toilet and bathroom separated only by a thin glass wall from the bedroom. The glass door of the toilet is not even closing: there is a space dow and on the side. No intimacy possible. Also We got two beds and we wanted one bed.
Nice hotel but small room. Good location.
If you stay at hotel Petit Palace Alcala Torre you are at the best location to visit Madrid. Hotel staff is very helpful.
very close to the centre , good value for money , nice room beed too small for 2
location was exelent the size of the room was extremely small and the door key malfunction constantly
The rooms, the laptop, facilities and location in general.
Only location was good Room was very small, dark with no necessary facilities for a family only one chair, the worst I had
The location One of the rooms was very dark, and had a permanent bad smell
Exellent hotel and excellent location tiny elevators
Close to everything, nice and modern! Never got hot water in the shower it was just "warm"
The staff was extremely friendly and the location was great. We had a room without a window. I recommend that if you stay at this hotel, ask for a room with a window. M
Location. For a tourist on a very short visit to Madrid this hotel was very centrally located with the Grand Via, Puerto Del Sol, Prado Museum and Plaza mayor all within a reasonable walking distance. The inclusion of breakfast in the price was a real bonus - the selection was vast a kept us going for the day This was very much a business persons hotel. The family room seemed to be an after thought - it was very small, dark with one corner window. To accommodate a free standing wardrobe the room light switches were almost completely covered.
Location , bathroom Bed was not comfortable, and makes sounds (skweeks). Elevator is very small. No one helped us with the luggage.
Free high speed internet, shower, locality to subway/centre.... Lifts were insanely small
very convenient location in central Madrid for shopping and restuarants, bus tours and public transport, and art galleries
Well positioned near centre; good sized rooms We were put into a sub-standard room for the first night (air con did not work), but were moved to a better one on request - which was excellent.
the location was very good and the lounge/bar was excellent. would like to see some form of not slip mat in the bath as i slipped when picking up my towel and I am quite badly bruised. This is not a criticism it is a would like to have suggestion so it doesn't happen to others.
Very good situation near the center area (walking streets, shopping, getting to sight seeings) on this time of the year. Staff was very frendly and very pleasent to help, when it was needed. As a Finnish I want that the hotel breakfest is substantial to start the tourist-day. I didn´t wait black bread nor porridge, but yougurt for flakes or mysli should be good. And it was strange, that there wasn´t vegetables at all (not also in restaurants in Madrid).
Location superb, and the room was very good
the location could not be better, the staff were all pleasant and helpful and the room and hotel in general spotless I was in a single room 317 this was tiny with no comfortable chair and no view the window blanked and on opening looked down some sort of shaft. this room is very claustrophobic and totally unsuitable for a longer stay
The best thing about the hotel is the location, easy access to Sol Metro station. This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and the second time we have had a quiet room. We thought that the prices in the Lounge were very expensive compared to our last stay, 17 Euros for 2 Gin and Tonics and a bottle of water. This is well above average for Spain in general. There was a Tea and Coffee making kit available free if asked for at receiption but this information was only made available in the rooms Hotel info guide, this should have been made known on arrival from the receiption staff.
Ideal locality being in the centre of Madrid but in a pedestrianised area guaranteeing a good nights sleep with minimal traffic noise. This was my 4th time in Madrid and my 3rd at this hotel.
The location is very good, and the breakfast is very varied, the service is very very good. The rooms have good size and are clean
The location is really good!! Yhe staff look always to be tired and do not give attention to the guest.
location, quietness, comfortable and stylish room
Location, asked for interior room high off the street and the noise wasn't a problem There was a musty smell
Modern style and street view room!
Great place for getting around in the city. Had plenty of room for 6 people with two bathrooms. Great value for money! The breakfast was great, too!
the location was great near the big place del sol .... shopping and restaurants are very close
staff were lovely. nice sized rooms Difficulty parking around there. would have been nice to have parking information concerning this hotel
The location of the hotel is good that it is closed to Sol metro / train station. However, there are many other hotels available at that area. 1) furniture&facilities are old; sliding doors of carbinet & bath can't open/close properly. 2) Hotel staff tidy up the hotel room everyday but not change the bed sheet and towels. At my arrival day, one bath towel is still wet at hotel room. 3) We are assigned to a room without computer. After request, hotel staff re-assigned another room for us with computer available. However, we can't open the room door and we returned back to the receiption and ask for help. We on and off tried opening the door and returned to reception repeatly. Finally, we found that the door lock actually can't function properly. So, we requested to change back to the first room even without computer. The staff are then black-faced.
Contempory look, clean, very convenient location. The bathroom had a glass door!
CEntral location for a nice walk around the city It could have been more clean!
Awesome location, cleanliness and facilities.
Staff was friendly and helpful and became personable as you started talking to them. It was a great little find. The place was somewhat difficult to find. I walked past it 3 times before realizing where it was.
toothbrush & toothpaste, razor & shaving gel provided hot water did not last for more than half a minute. only warm water came out afterwards. i had to a quick shower in warm (or nearly cold) water in winter time.
so good hotel..nice staff..perfect position soundproofing problem
To be near to the centro of Madrid and sol metro. Best restaurants and bars.
It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the room was fabulous! Modern, super-clean, black & white mod interior, wow!
Very nice refurbishment of centuries old building.
High quality rooms/suites in a buzzing central location. Most helpful staff (English speaking). Older folk might find the neighbourhood noisey.
To connect TV channels in Russian All is OK!
The hotel looks fantastic, location is excellent, and our room wasn't noisy at all. Liked the traditional breakfast at the nearby bistro. The bathroom was too small, and the toilet provided no privacy (e.g. thin, glass walls).
It is in the heart of Madrid The breakfast situation is odd.
The shower was nice but unfortunately the drainage system could not manage the flow of water so this gave a flood in the bathroom, very slippery, and running into the bedarea.I really "enjoyed" the fact that prices on the hostel's website where cheaper (10%) than via booking.com!!! -the very noisy street which makes a good sleep impossible -the extremely rude and arrogant behaviour of the lady-receptionist after we had asked for a quiet room; she was not willing to give us a room at the backside of the building with a window-view; only one without a view which meant that you had a grey slade roof of another building right in front of the glass of your window- --the cheap "trendy" Ikea furniture with only one upright chair to sit on and narrow bed (3 ps room)
Excellent location, in the middle between main historical places, I didn't use any transport while sightseeing at all. Near to the metro station. Stuff is friendly, english speaking. The room was very cosy, nice antique interier of the whole hotel. Bathroom was fully completed. This hostal was much better than 3 star hotel in Rome, there I went after Madrid!
Helpful staff Very basic, but okay. They are changing bed sheets and towels every two or three days depending on the length of your stay.
Hotel interior was pleasant and interesting with "antiques" and curious but effective framed jig-saw puzzles on the walls. Perfect location. The party of noisy and over-excited German teenagers was not the hotel's fault but at times it did sound like a youth hostel. The stairs up from the reception to the rooms were also awkward with bulky luggage.
Location, and familiarity with the place - have stayed there maybe 7 times over last decade. You can walk everywhere from it. Street can be a bit noisy into small hours but that is the nature of its central location
Location was fantastic - close to lots of bars and restaurants and the main centre of town - easy enough to walk to main tourist attractions The room backed onto a street with lots of bars so was slightly noisy if you left the doors open. However, there was an air-conditioner but it took awhile to get working correctly
Central location There was no response to my e-mail on how to get to the hotel from the train station. They do provide a shuttle service to the airport which was good.
right next to puerta sol and alla tha bars in santa criz and plaza santa ana..
It's in the very center of the city. There was some noises in the night.
The hostal is almost in the city centre and cheap if compared with others of the same category. People on the street but no noise in the room. Bedclothes not very clean.
very comfortable and easily accessible to city centre no
Nice location. It's near Gran Via, Sol ,.... Everything is small, room, bathroom, and restaurant. Noisy. The sound proof is only for sound outside. You can hear everything of the room next to you, even the sound of spring bed and wood floor. The spring bed is hard.
The free internet where fine, good staff and the location in the midle of Madrid. To much noise and a bad bathroom
Location is superb and the staff very friendly and professional.
nada noise during night time
The location of the hotel is amazing. The room is too small and the bathroom door was made of glass and didn't have a proper door nor locks. There was always a bad smell in the reception.
The location which was really central - possible to walk everywhere.
Great location. The comfortability and the cleanliness of the beds and the whole room. The staff. Good lighting inside the room. Although we liked the bathroom, the design of it's door didn't offer the person inside complete privacy.
Its location was very convenient The bed for two people was just 2 twins puched together, and each had their own sets of tucked in sheets. It was very uncomfortable. Also the shower was quite dysfunctional.
The hotel is in a great location. It is in the near the center of varying plazas, providing easy access. High Tech is a misnomer as the desktop computer was non functional, and the wireless was spotty.
Locariob No air conditioner No phone Small room Lots of noise at night Not clean and staff not nice
The rooms were nice, and the hotel was very central and very clean. The staff when we booked in were not friendly, although the staff, when we checked out (different people) were very friendly. The bathroom although it was beautiful and spacious was freezing, as there was no heating in there.
extremely good location, right next to metro station, near placa del sol to the south and fairly close to the main park and prado museum to the north. The price was good. interior room but still noisy, AC didn't work well, no view
Its central location The price of food & drinks
The hotel is right in the middle of everything. Very helpful staff. Easy walk to sites and dining. Very affordable and convenient Nothing about this hotel that I can say bad.
A nice hotel in a great location
Cleanliness, hotel staff and location Everything was perfect. I'll recommend to my family and friends.
The newly renovated rooms are every nice. When we first checked in though, we were given a room on the ground floor, right next to the office with two single beds. This room was quite crappy and old, and there was renovations going on directly outside the window. We asked for a room with one bed, and were given a much nicer room higher up and on the back side of the hotel. The older rooms are quite crappy, and I would not have stayed in that. Also, being winter, the A/C is turned off. But, it's hard to open the window, so our room was quite hot. An there was no working fan.
very good location,staff friendly,
Big room, great localtion, low price
The location of hotel
Very nice hotel exactly in the center of Madrid, quiet and very nice furnished, it was a pleasure to stay there!
In the center of the city Clean modern rooms Professional staff
is was very central, clean and good to reach by metro. the internet isn't realy internet there is a telepfone connection in the room, if you want to use the internet you need to bring you're own cable and laptop, and pay every minute you use the pfone connection. second it's very noisy in the street, but the windows wil keep the noise outside unfortunaly the hostal keeps the window in the doorway open. so the noise wouldn't come thrue the window in the room but thrue the other window and then thrue the door witch is not sound prove at all. if you have a room in the beginning of the doorway you have the bad luck the everybody that's passing brings noise into the room. if someone stayed just to party is't perfect, if you stay to see the city during the weekend look for an other hostal, the are plenty hostals.
Location and cleanliness. The room I stayed (single) was too small.
good value for money in central madrid but the location is very bad lot of prostitutes in that street
The cleanliness and confort of the room. The air conditioned is not included in the price and available for 5 EUR more, despite the very very very small windows in the rooms
the air con I did not like the noise at night and the building that went on during our stay
The hostal is situated in the centre, close to metro station, but it is very quiet, so a good night sleep is possible The room is very very small, they used every inch. So when you step out of you small bed, too small for a dutch man, you step directly in your bathroom, and with a fat bottom, you can't use the toilet because you will get stucked between door and wall.
Very cheap. Location i very central, however there's hundreds of cheap hostals in the city center in Madrid. No wifi, but I could borrow a cable in the reception, and the internet was very fast compared to the slow wifi in most Madrid hostels. Mould alert: very strong damp smell in the corridor. Unbearable smell from the my rooms bathroom. Usually get a swollen throat if I sleep in buildings that are water damaged, and I think this hotel can have a problem with mould! Very tiny room, could almost not move.
Central location, nice staff, great value for money.
Location and price. The room was very small and not well equiped, but corespondents with the price and location.
Location, location, location The room was teeny - and while everything was immaculately clean, the hall to the room smelt so strongly of chemicals it was nauseating.
Friendly staff, very clear, near the metro station, just in the heart of the nightlife area
The location is fantastic - right in the centre and Madrid with lots of good tapas bars around the area. We had an interior room so it was nice and quiet too. The room was perfectly acceptable, clean and with a good bathroom.
The location in Old Madrid was excellent. It was within walking distance of the metro, many restaurants, the Palace and the Prado. We were not able to get the airport shuttle from the airport to the hotel. We were able to take the aerobus to Plaza Cidibeles, but then had to walk 5 blocks to get to the hotel in the rain.
Fantastic location, nice rooms, very clean. Breakfast was a little too simple for the price, some eggs would have been nice
Excellent location, steps away from Puerta del Sol. Handy for morning walks to Buen Retiro.
Bathroom very nice and updated. Air conditioning. Very small room, hard bed.
This is a great little hotel in a fabulous location. Great staff. Would recommend. Internet didn't work as advertised. Breakfast poor.
Perfect location, next to Plaza del sol. Close to restaurants and night life. Room size is sufficient.Helpfull staff. It is in the middle of pubs, restaurants and night clubs. Good for young people and couples. For families and elderly people is might be a bit noisy.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The location was very convenient to many of the major attractions, shopping, and restaurants. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and courteous. Our room was located close to the stairs and the door to the stairway made a loud slamming noise every time someone used it. This was very annoying at times.
Very good location for visiting Madrid Nearby disco, sometimes loud music heard in early hours
location, and value for the money spent. once i arrived the hotel proved to be an excellent place to stay.
--amazing central location in Madrid, right around the corner from Plaza Mayor --polite, helpful staff that gave us lots of pointers about Madrid --room given to us had double and two single beds (we only needed the double) --central location also tends to make for noisy nights
It's close to the city centre, the staff speaks english and breakfast is available. The room was very small, it is only good, if you're just sleeping there and don't spend the day there. And although there was daily cleaning, the floor stayed dirty, they only made the bed up.
Its central situation and ease of access to the rest of Madrid. It felt secure and the staff were efficient rather than friendly but that is all I required from them. It was exceptionally clean and good value for money. The beds were hard and the sound-proofing was inadequate.
Excellent location, simple and smal but clean facilitys, good bed. Kindly staff.
The staff were excellent and it was 1 minute to Plaza Mayor and a short walk from other centre areas in the city! Due to the location, it was very noisy, particularly at night. Also the free Wifi didn't work properly and the shower did not drain. It was pretty good value for money though.
The location, was so easy to get to the various sights and eating places. The noise when the window was open but it was to be expected for its central location. The water from the shower was not at a constant temperature when in use, water got quite cold at times.
the location was great, central to a lot of cultural & tourist attractions and only a 3 minute w3alk from Sol metro the advertisement in the bedroom for the associate restaurant was sadly well out of date indicating that you could get steak and chips for less than 8euros when in fact when you got there it was 15 euros.
Excellent location, great staff, felt safe.
Excellent location, friendly, English speaking staff, room size is adeqaute (alhtough would be small for longer stay). The disinfectant smelt badly, hotel to airport fix fee is more expensive than communicated (instead of 30-32 EUR we were charged 39)
