Lived in K-town for 4 years and left 10 years ago. Even though area has changed a bit, love the area. Lots of GREAT restaurants, bars, nightlife. The hotel is trendy, urban and a great overall feel. I wish they had specials more often.
Pet friendly Creative room layout Easy access to other LA areas without having to get on the highways Fun nightlife in hotel Convenience of a great restaurant and bar within the hoteli I had a leak through the ceiling of my shower for my entire visit. After several attempts to resolve the problem, the problem persisted causing the bathroom floor to constantly remain very wet.
Unique features with hip atmosphere. Very clean and location was great. I had to change the room because it was next to the gym. My bed kept vibrating every time someone was using the gym. Also, the floor near the door way was wet throughout my stay. I don't why though.
Loved the giant windows! Very clean and comfortable rooms Commissary is beautiful Allowed for a great taste of Koreatown The features at the hotel were overcrowded by people not staying there which made it hard to want to use them.
- awesome staff! - awesome location - bar (Line bar & Break Room 86) - both popping places to check out; especially taking advantage of the location since its right under our rooms!
I really thought the staff was really nice and very helpful even with young kids it was a fun place to stay
The view was great. Comfortable beds. The look of the rooms/ hotel was hip. Helpful and friendly staff. Some of the fixtures in my room didn't function properly.
Unique Place. Beds are comfortable - very interesting vibe - the staff was the greatest. Great Restaurant "Commissary" Very fun & unique. Rooms are way too loud with street traffic and club music noice! I'm sure if you get a higher floor it is better.,
Everything about the line was excellent!!
The Commisary staff, environment, and food were amazing. The room itself was well designed and had amazing views. Valet was quick and attentive. The elevators were slow and crowded. The brass handles in the shower were molded and rusty. The mattress was one of the worst I've slept on. The rooms were missing essentials like a coffee machine and toothpaste. I would have rather had both than the optional t-shirts for purchase.
This hotel features an original gritty industrial loft ambiance. The scene and Pot restaurant are authentic homage to the character of the neighborhood, and the Commissary greenhouse restaurant is a unique and innovative concept. The pool area is a bit sparse and could use some prettying up / landscaping.
staff was nice bed was comfy didnt sleep all night because of the air filter in the room hadnt been cleaned since the hotel was open and got a bloody nose at 4am because the air was so stale, fan didnt work, etc. now am so sick because of it
Loved the way they had updated the hotel; it was comfortable and pretty without being generic or "sterile." Be warned: there are NO cable channels, or movies or anything to watch really, though the rooms have giant TVs. Also, overnight parking is $29 and there is no room service or restaurant (yet) or even a vending machine!
Staff were all amazing. Loved the 4:30-6 wine reception. Breakfast was delicious
Friendly staff N/a
I liked that it was pretty quiet for an area that was really busy during the day and night. Other than that I'd recommend this place even for an over night trip. The staff was super nice and welcoming. One of the nice ladies in the front complemented me on my fresh tattoo and I really appreciated it cos it was important to me. I guess I didn't like the valet situation, but what ya gonna do about it.
Cleanliness and simplicity. Very retro which was a throw back touch you cannot duplicate. Loved Cassell's! Nothing.
It was perfect for my stay in Los Angeles. The hotel was beautiful and felt unique. The bed was comfortable to sleep in. Maid service was on top of it when I requested it. Overall, I would stay there again. No counter or vanity space in the bathroom. My toiletries and makeup ended up on the back of the toilet. I normally live out of my suitcase, but there was barely any storage in the room if you wanted to unpack your stuff.
The feel, atmosphere, and decor of the hotel were very interesting, and the staff was nice. The restaurant next door had incredible desserts and breakfast! The only parking option was $32/day vallet. The hotel was very sparse in amenities (e.g. the lobby is pretty much decorative, no breakfast, no coffee). There wasn't a lot of space for us to eat our take out. Where do you throw our baby'd dirty diapers away?!
Last minute reservations led me to this hotel. I was at a wedding and the celebration was extended and we needed a place to crash. Price is decent, parking is not what I was expecting. Even if you stay you get charged 32.00 bucks to leave your car in the premises. Parking like the rest of the hotels around the area is ridiculous. 30 something bucks for parking in a hotel you are staying... This charge should be shown in the cost of all the websites where the reservations are made. Hey... the room is 158.00 with 26 bucks of taxes and services and 32.00 parking fee... there you have it. the fees do creep on you.
Solid, clean and convenient. Easy street parking at night.
I have nothing bad to say about this place at all. It's perfect for those who are in a budget.
Free parking and comfortable bed No free breakfast
location, close to my son's apartment my room on Wilshire Blvd side, noise from street
Shabby in some places (the couch), but clean.
I loved that it was a hop, skip and jump away from Korea Town. Loved the fridge and spacious room. Plently of parking and friendly staff. Package deal was very affordable compared to other hotels in the area. The floor had a weird texture to it, like something had been spilled but not cleaned properly so I wore sandals or socks in the room at all times. I wish the window had a screen so we could have left it open while gone to air out the room (it tended to get stuffy towards the evening).
nothing insects in the bed, paid parking, no food facilities
close to Metro cleaniness of bathroom was poor, bad television service, receptionist didnt know anything about Metro or surrounding area
No microwave or printer. Unless you use the one at yhe front desk.
It was reasonable in price and clean. Staff was very rude. One woman in particular. Horrible customer service.
We had a jacket left at the supplier factory and asked them to deliver it to the hotel. And found that the hotel got a good receipt and delivered it to us. So nice service we have enjoyed.
Right down the street from The Wiltern. Perfect place to stay if you're seeing a show there.
very cozy and comfortable no reception on direct tv
Comfy beds, pleasant staff, clean room, big TV. Amazing Koreatown location one block from main Korean mall and super great BBQ. Ping pong room is dreary and had pest issues. Pool was dirty.
The location of this hotel is right in koreatown and walking distance from many great restaurants and stores. The towels were a bit rough and the room smelled a bit musty but the bed was comfortable and the room was big and modern. Wish the elevator was faster or maybe had another since it was the only way one could exit the hotel as well as the only one for going up to the rooms.
Cock roach in the bed, blood stain and pubes on the pillow. Extremely rude front desk. I hate confrontation already and she was so rude I wanted to cry.
Rooms were nice and better than expected. Parking easy and free. The staff were very helpful and even mailed an item I left behind free of charge. I've been in much bigger and more expensive hotels who would not do such a thing.
Everything! Room was clean, spacious and bright! Staff was very friendly and welcoming! NA
The hotel was very clean & very accommodating! The price for parking is a little absurd, but hey it's LA!
The cleanliness and locaction. No breakfast.
Very early morning and check-in time staff were friendly and helpful. There is a fee for early check-in, which surprised me. Bed is very comfortably and room was a nice size. The AC is a window/wall unit, which means the AC may not be as quiet and cool as some wish. I'm used to it because I live in an old building and have a window unit, but I can see how someone who lives in a newer building might find this odd for a hotel. Nice toiletries in the bathroom with shampoo, conditioner, lotion and body wash. Nice location in walking distance of coffee shops and eateries. Basically, this is a no-frills hotel that is a perfectly decent place to lay your head. One night staffer barely looked up or acknowledged me when I went to ask a question. When I asked for an iron and ironing board, they were in poor condition. I'm not sure if the iron was working properly and it water spilled out from it when I got it. Ironing board was old and stained. Some of the upholstery in the room was stained. Didn't bother me, but might bother some people. Why is there not even a vending machine to get water? I had to resort to just filling several small glasses of water from the lobby.
The hotel was clean and cute. Its not in the thick of things if you are there to site see but its also not far from things like the Griffith Observatory. Its not a bad hike to Santa Monica either. The parking situation sucks! There aren't enough spots so at night cars get blocked in. The staff expects you to give them your keys so they can move your car if needed, however, if you are a tourist, like we were, you likely have a rental car. In your rental agreement, no one else is allowed to drive the car. The parking lot if very tight with concrete beams so there is a very large margin for error. If the car is damaged YOU will be held liable by the rental company because you do not have an agreement with the hotel. The alternative is for you to drive 20 minutes looking for a parking spot or just keep your keys and if it needs to be moved they will call you. At 2:30 am, the gentleman (I use that sarcastically) at the front desk our first night kept threatening us with phone calls should we not give him our keys. Fortunately a non-guest who had parked in the parking was leaving and we took her spot. Not the best customer service and there is no disclosure regarding the parking situation.
For 2 of the three nights I got almost no sleep. There were other rooms around mine where numerous ( 5 in one room?) people were loudly yelling, partying, and who know what else. The management was unable to handle this. Also, I had a truck which is $30 per night extra, not $20. I found this out as I left. It wasn't a great experience all around. But that said, the staff was really nice, especially the parking lot guys.
Free parking but not centrally located so had to drive everywhere. Bathroom was not clean: hair and dirt all over walls. Walls also were poorly constructed and caving in or puffing out in multiple spots. Seemed cheap despite nice fixtures, tile and touches of marble. Also had two yippy dogs barking a few doors down that ruined stay. No fridge in room also disappointing.
My husband and I stayed in a standard suite with 2 beds with windows facing the Ralph's. The area was pretty sketchy and there were a lot of homeless people around. The room was okay. The furniture was dated and so was the smell of the hotel. The bathroom had a tub/shower and was roomy. Parking structure was pretty tight and kind of confusing to know designated parking areas between "reserved" and normal customer parkings. But it was free so I guess you can't beat that. The good thing about this place is that it was really close to the Wiltern theater if you have to attend a concert. And the staff was really friendly. There was also free wifi; though not the fastest but still useable. It was decent for what we paid for. Parking structure Smell
Clean bathroom and bed No free breakfast
The convenience of being in Ktown. Price is decent. Ok place to stay If you need to be down town for a day or two. Staff is great... The WiFy did not work on the 4th floor. They did try to help us but to no avail . Walls are paper thin. You hear everything your neighbors are doing. Bathrooms are a little dated. AC works, but is very loud.
It was ok. Staff was friendly The restroom door wouldn't close and the curtains where torn
Love exploring Koreatown!! It's the middle of gritty LA - not sure if kids would love this area.
Clean and staff were very nice. Can be quite noisy because of its location.
Prime location. Simple, yet clean and relaxing. Best deal for your money. nothing negative.
Location is good. No. It's what I expected.
Room was clean & quiet, housekeeping girl was courteous, friendly and respectful. Paid attention to cleaning the room very carefully. Front desk staff was un-cooperative and unfriendly. Air conditioning wasn't working on Friday evening & night. Didn't fix it until Saturday afternoon. Deceptive advertising ie free breakfast that was only for corporate account holders. No free breakfast.
Self parking won't prob.vide valet only crowd in weekend and generals air condition and heating won't maintain main computer system won't work 2-3weeks no booking accept

Being in Koreantown. Mattress needs to be replaced; very old style with Springs that squeaks.

It was in a slightly nicer area of Korea Town.Cheap parking. Outdated everything, uncomfortable beds, the whole building smelled like cigarettes.
Location The hotel is in a state of dis-repair; carpeting throughout the hotel is badly soiled. The central air sounds like a freight train when it kicks in; the elevators make unsavory noises; marble tiles are cracking and no maintenance staff on duty.
Exceptionaly good breakfast and would recommend the waffles. It was well stocked and fresh. A great start to the day. All staff were always polite and friendly. Generally the hotel was quite good but there were a few issues with the .cleanliness.Our room was spacious and well layed out but it felt a bit tired. The room apeared clean but the soft furnishings eg curtains and bed valances were very dirty. Heavy dust hung from the front of the pelmets and the voils were very stained. There were stains on the bed platform valances that were very off putting. The bed linen was clean and fresh but the valance had not been changed in ages. It was off putting. Noise from the front road day and night is quite loud and would be worth asking for a room at the back if you are a light sleeper. Its a shame that they feel its nesesary to charge for parking.
Freindly staff, very comfortable beds, clean, convenient, quiet, free breakfast
Helpfulness of the reception staff quite old and poor decor
Free breakfast, friendly staff.
Great value for the price. Modern room interior and flat screen TV. Nice Lobby. Breakfast quality was low. Charged for parking.
The hotel is very near the metro and some tourist attractions. Breakfast is not so good.
The staff were so helpful. The equipment in room all worked as it should. Modern. Easy access to transport to most sites of interest
The hotel staff said they never received the reservation from Booking.com, but they honored the rate anyway.
Close to metro, easy to access all those Hollywood attractions. Price/quality is good.
I loved the king size bed it was very comfortable. The hotel overall was nice even with the renovations going on. The walls are really thin, I was able to hear everything going on outside my door even people walking. Outside noise was very loud, the hotel is located on a busy street and you can hear sirens, car horns, and just normal traffic. The little store in the main lobby is over priced. My significant other had a head ache and didn't want to drive to a convenience store and paid $4 for 4 Advil pills.
The hotel was in a central location and provided breakfast. The room smelled a little like mildew, and the hotel had a similar smell. Perhaps this was due to LA's pollution. Additionally, the room we stayed in had poorly connected handles/plugs for the toilet, shower, and sink.
The rooms are nice and roomy for 1 bedroom. Staff is quite friendly and helpful. The location is so close to the boiling crab and the rest of the action in k town. Korea town is a bit loud and noisy. If you're a light sleeper, all for a room up and away from all the noise coming from the streets.
The location was convenient for us based on where we had business. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room looked cute at first glance. There is some great food nearby. It's one of the more affordable rooms in LA. The stairs were completely closed for most of our stay due to construction. The sheets made us very itchy. The lock on the door malfunctioned & locked us out of our room several times. There was black mold & a leak in the bathroom ceiling. Lots of sound transference. Honestly I think this hotel should've been closed the weekend I was there. It was unsafe. The staff said construction would be over next week, but that was irrelevant to me as I was only there during construction.
Easy parking, closed to Hollywood, Santa Monica beach. Only one elevator working at the time I was there.
The comfartor was stuffed with feathers which made it uncomfortable to sleep with and it was noisy there
Loved the location and the free onsite parking. I booked a king and was provided double beds.. Also the cleaning staff left the door ajar after cleaning the room which placed all my personal affects at risk of being stolen.

location Room was not clean enough
Pleasant staff( thank you) Nice breakfast I felt relatively secure BEAUTIFUL view of Hollywood sign from my room! A bit too far from Metro
Close to everything down town ! Shower door did not shut properly, windows were very dirty could not see the great view cause the glass was so dirty out side ! And breakfast was good but there was no fruit , no bakery goods , and no bacon or sausage could have used a little more select
The room was decent. Nice and neat. Nothing extravagant or new but great for any overnight or short stay.Since this is only a two star hotel I would say it's nice for that rating. Not to far from the freeways that will get you around in Los Angeles. There was an ethnic smell in the lobby and parking is complex unless you find a place on the street. I thought it was somewhat expensive for a two star but I did book it only a week in advance. Overall if you like the price offered this is a decent hotel.
The staff is amazing. They were very helpful and accommodating. the breakfast was very good and the staff kept replenishing the food. Eggs, sausage, hash browns, cereal, bagels, breads and apples were plentiful. it would be nice to add yogurt and bananas Duvets need to be on down comforters, microwave in room would be helpful and coffee in the room should definitely be provided.
Convenient ! No bell boy system !
It was a great price in the area we wanted to stay which was near USC campus. The people were nice and there was free safe parking. It was a little old and some of the things needed repair but it wasn't that bad.
Room smells cigarettes!
Private bathroom and a room AC I booked for 2 separate beds and got a single big bed. The room was very dark. Only 1 out 2 lamps worked. Main room light was so dim it didnt make a difference if it was on or off. The bathroom mirror light only had 2 out 5 working. The only working bright light was the shower.
Granted what the outside looks like, it's a quaint hotel thats great for small stays. The location is not too bad. You're close to downtown LA and a lot of eateries and shops. The staff spoke little English but were very kind and pleasant. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was small. We had a refrigerator and wifi (which we didn't bother to use due to how little we stayed in the room). It felt like a safer area. The bathroom. The floor was a bit dirty. Parking is limited. We left car at the hotel to secure parking and took a very long walk to downtown LA. Besides that it was a good stay. Totally recommend it and will stay there again.
room service was poor. Maid missed room cleaning So I asked to do a room cleaning, She rush into my room and pull blanket and linens very tough in front of me and children. as if she doesnet want to do this, she did making bed so noisy and in aggresive attitude. I don't go there with family again, alone maybe.
Clean and close to the bus stop, owner let me leave my suitcase in her place after check out and pick it up later so I didnt have to travel with it all around LA Not enough space for baggage and unpacking and way too many beds in one room
Owners are nice Low end hostel
Oasis hostel name was not displayed in front gate. It was visible in back gate.
