I was due to meet my mother at the hotel, she arrived 30 minutes before me and was made to pay the full amount for the stay, even though she repeatedly informed them I was paying and they had my card details. After locating my room i was in a state of shock as to its cramped size and airless atmosphere (5* with 5* prices!). i then went back down to reception to find out the location of the pool and gym also to request a hotel information booklet and directory and a room service menu, (This never materialised durinng our stay. I was informed that the pool/spa/gym was not open yet as the hotel was still being built. Also the main restaurant was not open yet but we could eat in the bar if we wanted.
Club room ,Location and the staff was wonderfull,, Nothing really ..
The room was very clean, well equipped and comfortable. The front of house staff seemed disorganised, we checked in at 10am and left bags, got a call at 12.30pm asking when we would be arriving and had to explain had checked in and paid!!! Were advised that bags would then be in room when we returned, however, when we did get back only one of two bags was there. After calling reception eventually went down to find bag was still in the lobby not even locked away. Bar was not open due to staff being late and would have expected this to have been open all day for a 5 star hotel. Alll in all the front of house staff, with the exception of the doorman who was excellent, were definately not up to the standard of a 5 star property

Althoug the room size was a bit small, it has modern accommodation, functional, clean and the hotel is very well located, close to the Marble Arch. The bathroom is high standard with TV set, large bath tube and other minor things. The room location in the basement for long stay is a bit depressing. I was not expecting this when booked a "superior double room." Moreover, as a Brazilian visitor, I suggest that the available Brazilian TV channel should be changed for a better standard because the one available was a network of an evangelical church of low ratings and deplorable programming. It could be replaced for a GloboNews, BandNews or, at worst, a Globo TV broadcast.
Interior design, modern, location My double room was a bit tight
Situated in the middle of London, yet absolutely quiet. Excellent service and facilities. Just a small detail: We didn't get the TV in our bathroom to work.

The proximity to Oxford Street and the West End The room and bed where surprisingly small for 2 grown ups with luggage. We didnt really have any space for our luggage or what we shopped. Needed to place shoes in bathroom.
The renovation work is fantastic and reminds me of true english culture.

walkin in the hyde park the receptionst telling me I had no booking. iI gave her my name twice.
The room was particularly nice, very comfortable and homely.

Excellent food, excellent concierge, excellent beds and pillows, excellently placed for west end. Receptionists were 'indifferent', very young waiting on staff who lacked the ability to make you feel welcome and special which is important when you are spending a lot of money and want to come away thinking you can't wait to get back. The 12.5% service charge on everything!

Hotel and staff were great The problem was with Active Hotels as the Hyatt had received no notice of our booking and so we were lucky to be able to get in. The Hyatt staff were great. If we use Active again we will personally check whether our booking has been made.

The room was spacious and very comfortable. We also thought the pool are was great. Be warned that any extras such as room service are not only a premium but they also add 12.5% service charge to quoted rates. I didn't realise this so I'd been tipping as well, so ended up paying nearly 25% gratuity!
Location of the hotel. The Lobby is to small and there no enough seats available. I arrived early morning at 8:00 while we got the room at 11:00.
Have stayed here several times always pleased with standards and service.

The spacious room and cleanless ,staff great , We had a drink in the bar quite shocked as there was 2 prostituts in the bar ,one who was obvious as to what she was doing ,it did not bother us but all the same quite shocking .this did not affect our stay the hotel is fantastic .

Very central location. Close to tube station and Oxford street. Less than 10 pounds for cab to Paddington station. Room recently renovated. Nespresso in the room. Lots of storage (drawers, closet space). Very professional staff. Free printing so we could checkin for our departure flight. Comfortable bed and pillows. Renovations still ongoing. Construction was happening in the room next to us during the day on a weekday. No construction on weekends and it started at a reasonable hour on weekdays. Few amenities in hotel, but we weren't looking to use them. My wife didn't sleep as well as she needs a contour pillow and one wasn't available.

This is a stylish new property with a contemporary feel. The staff was excellent, from housekeeping, to front desk, to concierge. It is a huge advantage to have a full kitchen, especially with an extended London stay. The bed was extremely comfortable,and although the lighting scheme and room controls take a bit of time to get used to, I especially liked the various 'moods' one could achieve in each of the rooms through the lighting choices. When we had guests one evening, the staff cheerfully provided additional chairs for our dining table. Although we had a studio apartment, it was one of the larger ones, and quite spacious. We were glad we discovered this property as it was perfect for our one week stay in London.

lack of paytv. room was very noisey. access to the room was via a ridiculous underground tunnel! no access to the gym as the key wasnt working ......the list of small issues is ridiculous for a hotel of this reputation.

The receptionists were so helpful i didn't like the size of the rooms, the singe deluxe and the double too there were too small.
It takes a while to accept the ambiance of the hotel, but after you reach that point the hotel is great. nope great hotel great people.

It is in a good location in Mayfair, near the Speaker's Corner in Hyde Park. Decent continental breakfast was included. The hotel has a good staff, and is in good repair.

i liked the fact that it was well located in the shopping district and a minutes walk from the tube station. i feel they should have informed us that the hotel was going to be under renovation as the exterior was a mess and the noise of drilling and hammering was very troublesome.

It was a nice quite room. The hotel was perfect for Oxford Street and very close to the tube station. Even though we were told there may be noise due to refurbishment, we heard nothing.

The location of the hotel is great. It is close to two underground stations (Marble Arch and Edgware Road). However, i think that the rate of the hotel is quite expensive.

We arrived earlier and didnt have any problem check in; the staff was lovely and very attentive.The bedroom was supper confortable and very clean( and I'm very fussy).When we asked what time the bar & restaurant close; the answer was "till the last customer"; just what you like to hear when spending a weekend in london.The instructions to get there are terrible, dont take the tube because the hotel its not located on the main street. Get a taxi; much easier.Very easy to walk to Oxford street and tube stations.The concierge service was great sorting out tickets for the Lion King saturday night show.We have our 10 y old boy with us and he loved all ; taxi at the hotel door at any time.The food was also great( I'm a chef).Will be back for sure
The location was very good. Staff were also very helpful and friendly. The room was of an excellent standard. It was extremely disappointing to come back from out night out to find the bar closed (1:00 am). This is supposed to be a quality hotel - we have stayed at far lesser hotels where these facilities are available!
Comfortable and well located hotel Very expensive, and the rate noted on Booking.com did not include vat, which is generally unusual (but not for London, so beware).
Everything (room, restaurant, bar, etc) was very clean. Staff was friendly and efficient Breakfast was excellent. with plenty of items to choose from Local market and restaurant scene was dominated by middle eastern cuisine which does not agree with my palate.
Confortable room and use of pool Didn't like the fact that even if you touched the fridge slightly you were charged for apparently drinking and eating the contents - had nothing to pay on credit card but still had to join a long queue whilst checking out as the bill put under my door was for £45 for drinks Id apparently had, so had to go to reception to get the bill sorted! It's a stupid process - you should only charge if drinks/food is consumed not if you open a door to a fridge- Ive never come across this before. When we were lining up at reception we were approached by a customer services representative of the hotel who asked whether we had any complaints. When I said yes, he immediately said to us would your complaint be about the fridge!!!!
The location is good for leisure. The service isnt very good and the rooms are a bit too dark. And the passage to the rooms smells and looks like a hospital.

the hotel was centrally located. Comfortable and small enough to feel cosy. Rooms were quiet with fairly good facilities. Staff were pleasant bur not friendly. Room decor was tired, curtains hanging badly,bathroom fittings, wallpaper and bedspreads dated. Bar prices were extortionate. I paid £9.95 for 24 hours wifi connection but the signal was so weak all over the hotel,I couldn't use it. When I complained, the reception staff asked me what I wanted them to do about it, rather than just automatically refunding me as a gesture of goodwill.

The reception area was very nice and the fascade of the hotel was lovely. My room was very small single near the lift - was clean but did not have an opportunity to avail of any other services. I had to ring looking for directions late in evening and person involved could not really help me even though I was on a street very close to the hotel

ambience made coming back to the hotel a pleasure,lovely room upgraded for free,great staff, wonderful flowers, much more intimate town house rather than impersonal hotel. my daughter and I loved it. groundfloor room at the front a bit noisy at night even tho good soundproofing. I would ask for a room at the rear next time
We liked the location being just a few minutes walk from Marble Arch and Oxford Street. Staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was good, clean. Good breakfast include fruit and fried English. Far too warm in breakfast room.
The hotel was beautiful, the room was immaculate but most of all, the staff were just the best. They did more than was expected of them and they genuinely seemed interested in your day. It was a pleasure staying there.

The hotel was very well located, near the Marble Arch tube station. The Sumner front desk staff were very helpful in answering my questions prior to booking, as well as in hiring a private car to the airport and printing boarding passes. Tasty breakfast! Clean modern bathroom with the best shower we experienced in our European travels.

Very modern rooms deisgned to a high spec and an outstanding location close to oxford st and ideal for a city break/shiopping trip. I booked a deluxe double room only to be told upon arrival that there were no available. I was offered two singles in return which I am extremely unhappy about and made thr trip a disaster as it was a present for my partner. We had to sleep in seperate small rooms. The feedback from the hotel was 'if you are not happy we can canel the reservation'..........which is a disgrace as I couldnt cancel on the time of arrival as we had a full day planned. They also wouldnt transfer us to one of their other hotels in the area. Overall, very unhappy and would like a full refund. Aweful service from the Hotel Manager who was very unprofessional.
the high floor room was much more better, the rooms are ok. Nothing much!!!The service is horrible, though the apartments are nice. First night we were staying in the room on the first floor and it was the worst night ive ever had(there were always some dialogs at the reception and it felt like someone was actually sitting in my room and chating).The service is bad, the hotel doesn't even have a restrooms outside the suites.
Location is only thing that is really good. The hotel rooms are so small and rooms at the ground floor so bad, you have feeling like all guests and receptionist are in the room with you. I couldn't sleep almost all night cause of the noise that was due to the guest coming in and out of the hotel and talking to the receptionist.
The staff at reception was very helpful I could hear things in the wall and or outside. Also not sure if I got bitten by bed bugs
