close to underground for the west end.good price.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was what I expected from the guest reviews on the website. Nice hot showers.
that the room was clean i feltc cold with no heating, noisy at the ealy morning
proximity to Paddington Station and underground, breakfast included, safe area, easy to get everywhere from there small room but we were not there enough for that to be a problem. You would not relax at the hotel in such a small room. It was perfectr for a trip to see London and to be on the go most of the time.
Clean and convenient as it is located close to the underground tube station.Good breakfast.
Cardiff hotel perfectly suits “Bad and breakfast” definition. You have a decent breakfast and go to London, returning late just to have a sleep in a fairly comfortable room. There is amiable and attentive staff on reception and in the canteen, friendly atmosphere. I was nicely surprised to find out that the hotel upgraded my room booking for the same price. Cooked breakfast was OK - enough calories for the half of the day stroll around the city; fair choice of cereals, canteen was clean, tables were laid nicely. Room was tiny, but very tidy, TV worked OK, as well as a shower and bath. Location is excellent, suitable for London walks as well as trips to other regions (from Paddington station is 3 min-s walk). Kensington gardens and Hyde park are only 10 minutes walk. Excellent choice for a weekend in London. Staicases were steep - scary!
The location and the friedliness of the staff Rooms too small, exensive
The very best reception in London!!! No complaints at all.
The fact that the staff was so friendly and so very helpful. A girl, Leila, at the front desk went out of her way to help me with my luggage. This was so much appreciated. No, not really.
it was in a central place near the metro station very easy to reach it. the window did not close well. I should put the towel at the gap of the window to stop the cold wind coming in. I do not know if it is a system of british people or of the hotel to sleep with the windows half opened but I really had 3 cold nights.
The fantastic customer care by Antonio (manager) and his staff and the fabulous designer atmosphere and art in the hotel.I was on a week's vacation with friends who were staying nearby and wanted to stay somewhere a bit "different" and quirky. Rough Luxe definitely fitted the bill! The bed was extremely comfortable with lovely bedlinen and there was a ready supply of handmade bath products which smelled delicious. The breakfasts are excellent and the soda bread and other produce are freshly delivered every morning. Antonio and Leo are a mine of information and delighted to advise guests on whatever they need to know, providing maps/ names of restaurants, galleries, exhibitions, routes etc. Nothing is too much trouble. I was loathe to leave! Absolutely nothing - it was exactly as described on the website. It is worth noting the building is Grade B listed and the space for hanging clothes is limited. Carry a few extra coathangers!
The hole package. Beginning with the (warm welcoming and lovely) manager over the (beautiful designed and clean) rooms and ending up with the (homemade, healthy and with love prepaired) breakfast. Our best stay ever - in a city hotel. Absolutely nothing
cool design, great breakfast, friendly service very small room, road noise, no mirror. No hanging space beyond the one coathanger. no hair conditioner.
the quirky interiors are delightful and the staff very cool and accommodating.
Excellent bedding and bathroom in a hotel that's a bit different from all the chains. Leo the manager was professional and thoughtful. Breakfast was wonderful. The location is a bit noisy at night.
excellent very personal customer service in an incomparable atmosphere with super location and special concept
second time that i overnight there, this time i got an apartment that it is quite nice even if it is in the basement. not so much to say. fair hotel, they have to do something for the breakfast room there is not space to pass true tables
Very good location in London.Efficient reception staff . When I arrived I got the 4 W appartment - a nightmare.Smelly, messy, cold, no telephone, bad TV, dirty cups on the cupboard..etc ..Then, after complaints they changed me to a nicer one - and I was happy - nice reception staff. So whatever you do , stay away from 4W ! (Breakfast- very basic and lack of space)
We liked the refurnished rooms, very clean and beutiful. The continental breakfast was very good and the service at the breakfast room very good! The location near Earls Court Underground is very convenient. I tryed to get in contact through e-mail in beforehand to see if I could have a large room but I didnt get any answer from the hotel. If you are easily disturbed by noice you should ask for a room on the frontside to the street, because on the backside you hear the trains coming and going. For us it was no problem, but it could be for other persons.
The staff was excellent -- very accomodating. The room decor was pleasing and the location was great (close to a tube station, and lots of restaurants and pubs in the immediate area). Noise from the underground trains kept us awake when we stayed in a room at the back of the hotel, but staff were happy to switch us to a room at the front of the hotel, which was much quieter.
We were in the apartment part of the Mayflower. We had booked an efficiency room and they gave us a free upgrade to a one-bedroom, which was great! It was located very near tube station in a nice area.
decent staffs and breakfast, very mordern probably refurnbished recently... a good location near the station as well... room and bathroom are quite small, quite noisy because it was near the station and close to roads
The room was beautifully presented but the double bed was two beds pushed together which resulted in a deep groove between the two beds. So it wasn't as comfortable as you'd expect
Very pleasant hotel and staff
the location was suitable for my needs, the hotel staff very kind my room was too small
The room was very small, but entirely functional. As I was on my own, it exactly met with my requirements. Quite a lot of night time traffic.
Staff lovely. Hotel bedrooms way too hot and back bedrooms very noisy. Windows would benefit from double glazing keeping outdoor noise down and perhaps enabling heating to be turned down
Very close to underground links and mainline stations.
The breakfast was excellent and the hotel was clean Our room was located in the attic and anytime someone opened the tap or used water it makes loud noises in the room, Very disturbing especially during the night or early morning. We could not take a sleep the whole night.
Really kind employes/owner. English breakfast included. Room a little bit small but very clean, bed done every day, towels provided...
location, price, comfort, welcome and breakfast.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Reservation found promptly.
Easy access to Kings Cross and Central London Very small rooms
Location is very good. It's quite. It's too small. There is no private bath room.
It is worth the price.
it was near st pancras station for us to go early in the morning bathroom in corridor could hardly walk round the bed
Proximity to event E.G. at koko arena in camden Dirty room , too small, thin walls could hear everything going on in other rooms, dirty bed linen, dated decor, unfriendly staff, the list is endless!
bar staff very good plus reception to much road noise from police and ambulances
The breakfast was good and plenty of it with very efficient staff on hand. The space in the bedroom and ensuite was a bit tight.
The convenient location - this made all of the difficulties and disappointments worthwhile (just about) The very small room, the shower that doesn't spray, the television that doesn't work - and the rather unpleasant smell in corridors and dining room.
Very convienient location, easy acces by tube, good breakfast small room
Although very small the room and bathroom were very clean and tidy. For the price paid the room was tiny. The traffic noise from outside was incredibly loud. The main reception of the hotel was shabby and the glass front doors had been smashed and were held together with tape.
Excellent service, general cleanliness, convenient location, good selection at breakfast and very competitively priced Bed was rather too hard for our liking, and rooms are very small.
friendly staff rooms were smaller than picture might indicate
The proximity to Euston Station. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the continental breakfast was convenient and no-fuss
the breakfast is perfect. the cleanlesss of our room was ok. room was so small.
close to london centre and tube station lack of parking, close to hospital
Good location- not far from tube. Room had ample space for one person. The folding camp-bed shoe-horned in at the foot of the bed was good to use as a suitcase stand!! All the kit you like to find in a hotel room was there (although very basic complementary toiletries). Nice bedding and soft furnishings. Cosy bed. Nice, snug and warm. (and a fan in the room in case it got too hot) This room (17) obviously used for 3 people...Cripes!!! Its a little small for 3 peoples stuff! The rug was heavily stained- not sure why its there if its so shabby when the lamanate wood flooring underneath is fine? Room very clean but hallway and stairs carpets dirty. Obviously a small problem with plumbing on 3rd floor. Water pressure in shower is poor, and despite having no issues overnight, 30 mins prior to departure, the room next door could be heard using the bathroom and a very unfortunate toilet smell engulphed my room!! Horrid!!
The check in process was quick and effective. The hotel was clean and served the purpose needed. If you're going to london you probably wont be spending that much time in your hotel anyway so for the price you can't go wrong!
Very good location, staff friendly , rooms very cleaned and well equipped, clean linen every day, good breakfast. Nice decoration. Surroundings very nice for restaurants. Walking distance from Oxford street, 10 min.
Location and price Shower -bath cabin condition
The bathroom, in-room coffee They wanted me to pay a 5% surcharge for paying with my credit card, although that was nowhere mentioned in their ad or the documents they sent me. I did not pay it, and they did not insist. There was no alarm clock in the room. The phone was not working.
the room was clean breakfast good, fruit, eggs, cereals, etc. City center. the room was toooo smalllll the shower bath was broken, decoration was horrible.
Zona 1, good location. The heating points didn't work.We had to change hotel beacuse there were not available rooms for the 2nd nigth, when we did the booking almost 2 months before the travel.
Staff friendly.Clean room.Great location.Great view The shower pressure was bad at times. We stayed in the only room at the very top of the hotel which had great views but was very tiring to climb to ,especially as I had requested a low floor room as two of us has bad athritus which hinders walking up stairs. No lift.
. Good value for a London hotel, handy location very close to paddington tube. The breakfast is good, the hotel is immaculate and the staff lovely. Sometimes the hotel is the worst bit of staying in London, but you actually want to spend time in the ABC Hyde park. Love it!. highly recommended
Great Location near to metro stations Bayswater and Queenway, perfect for sightseeing. The street is full of restaurants and shops. Very expensive for value! Just for sleep! The hotel was razonnable clean except the curtains that need to be washed as fast as possible. The walls room were in bad conditions because guest don´t take care and the room was so small that the luggage went against the walls all the time.At the first night I have to wait more then 10min to have hot water and I had to call the girl of the reception to turn on the shower and the heater. The worst thing was after the check-out that I have to pay 1 pound for each bag in the luggage room!!!!Unbelivable!!!
the room had wooden floor and was bright, the service was friendly and fine in terms of ekstra towels ect. great location to the tubes boring breakfast with cold toast and the room could use a decent cleaning and a new madras
Location small bathroom, early breakfast
nothing it's more a youth hostel then a hotel. The tab only gives cold water, the towel is the size of an 'kleenex', the shower is too hot to use? Rooms are very noisy on street side. Small rooms. Dirty
The area it was in. Dirty rooms, staff could speak basic english, English breakfast was toast and ceareal, the water suply was off for nearly 48 hours.
There was no best things, the reception staff was angry and not friendly.
Noisy - could hear the traffic and other street noises.
locality for tube to central london very noisy from street untill 2am as above eateries/bar also the actual rooms flooring was cheap chipped laminate wood and so awake at 6am when above us awoke, definately wont stay there again.
Location near Tube
location / wifi no freeview tv despite advertising the fact that they had it
Stayed in a family suite and rooms were a good size for the area - close to Buckingham Palace and Victoria Station - within walking distance to Harrod's Shopping. Goog value for money in great upscale nieghborhood. Nothing - would stay there again and plan to return again!
room cleaning and new towels every day, located close to Victoria station and many shops the stairs: over 40 tight narrow steps for upper floor rooms, the ceiling: you could reach it with your head if you are about 2m high, breakfast: poor and tiny breakfast room, tiny bathroom cabin, defenatly not worthing the price
The location and friendly staff Poor TV reception and very small shower room
Big screen TV Bedsprings were sticking out of the bed in room 207. Moved to room 209 for second night but the bed linen was dirty/had not been changed from the previous occupants (there were actually pubic hairs in th sheets). We ended up sleeping on top of the bed both nights. Carpet was badly stained. All the Reception staff are foreigners and are barely able to english - the atmosphere was not welcoming/friendly.
Lovely furnished rooms Breakfast room very small for number of rooms
It's a great location and the staff were friendly. Our room had a torn unclean carpet. The room was small for three people. We had a bloodstain on our undersheet and a badly stained matress we discovered the next day. The room had an off smell. We had booked for 3 days but left straight after the first night. We will never stay here again and I suggest you don't there are plenty of nice hotels in the area. If you want to see photos see my trip advisor post.
great rooms and location...warning !!... the stairs to the rooms are very steep narrow and challenging..no way that older or less mobile people could stay here ...in other countries I doubt it would be legal to have stiars so difficult in a public building... the stairs
the bedroom is very modern, small but comfortable and clean the sitting area for breakfast is in the reception area and I found it very small
Convenient. Small breakfast area.
the room was very clean and spacious. The let us store our bags all day after we checked out.
Well situated for central London Rooms too small. Having to pay for wifi connection
The location is great. From connought street is really easy to arrive to hyde park, oxford street or marble arch station (3 mins or less walking). Room are really small (double room is totally filled by the bed, there's no place between bed and the door or the window). Also the bathroom was too small. Furniture is really old and the room wasn't tidy at all. There were cracks on the wall, the sprung bed base was carved in so that bed wasn't comfortable at all.
Staff, closeness to main shopping area No kettle in the room, room very small for double bed,no variety for breakfast, could not get breakfast on day of departure as breakfast was only served from 08.30 onwards at the weekend.
Its location. Easy access to oxford street and the tube. We did not like the hotel, the view was creepy, the room very small, the bathroom's ceiling was mouldy, the breakfast room in the basement was creepy too and the staff not competent: they gave us food we did not ordered and was complaining about it.
good location room is too small. no daily clean up for linen.
place is very good , hotel is very bad.
Convenient location near Marble Arch for west end shops. There was a bed to sleep in. This is clearly a budget hotel. To leave a bag at the hotel reception for a while after the check out time will add a charge of £5 per bag even for a few minutes after the 11 a.m. deadline. The breakfast was limited to either being served a bowl of cereals or toast and egg. The staff did not seem very happy. The second floor room floor was cramped and the floor was on a slope! No tea-making facility in rooms.
Good value, comfortable bed. Quiet. Convenient Little choice of nearby restaurants
Breakfast, you can order an omelet Cheaper than other hotels Firm bed Crisp linen Close to Paddington Station Flimsy door with a lock from the 50s Tiny room Designer sink and faucet... looks pretty but VERY hard to wash hands Rooms are not soundproof even a little bit
Included breakfast which is a rarity in Europe. Quiet and within walking distance of rail & tube stations. Room was only a little larger than the size of a king size bed.
Staff & breakfast ok. Tiniest rooms ever. Nowhere to sit. Bed on wheels kept moving. Teeny shower. Uncomfortably small bed.
the location and the ability to move in and out with your key in hand they open the door and get in when you are either a sleep or when you aren't there.
It was a really wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, English breakfast was nutritious and tasty (bacon and eggs, beans, a sausage, tosts with jam or butter, tea, coffee, juice), which came very handy as we would leave the hotel for sightseeing the city early in the morning. Wi-fi was good enough to enable calls via Skype every evening. The room had an attractive decor and space enough to accomodate two people: my 8-year-old daughter and me. The room was neat and clean, the shower was fairly large. It was situated on the ground floor rather far from other rooms, so it was pleasantly quiet. I would definitely stay there again and recommend the hotel to my friends!
Polite, helpful staff, very clean hotel, cleaning is done every day, the location of the hotel (metro station 3 min). I liked the excellent quality-price ratio
A small familiar hotel, near Paddington Station. Top Staff, who was very kind and service minded No
clean and neat, food too small
Very kind staff. Nice warm full-English breakfast. Close to paddington station.
The hotel was welcoming, clean with very friendly, helpful staff
