They were so rude that I was a single American female traveler even though I'm very polite. They over charged me 100 US dollars, that I now have to deal with when I get home. That's a lot in Thailand! Rooms weren't that cleaned. Pretty sure the "day bed" had bed bugs. Hated this Hotel!
Great location on beach and easy to get to after arriving by longboat.A very good breakfast with fantastic view.Good friendly service. Room needed a small table and chairs, and also not comfortable to watch TV. Not really deluxe as compared to similar priced hotels on Phi Phi or Ao Nang.
Location, room was ok, restaurant was better than others at railay beach Staff were poorly trained, unattentive and did not care about guests. Service in restaurant was slow. Hotel feels old, and expensive for what you get. Beach gets very noisy during day as boats come from Au nang
Railay is the wonderful place. We enjoyed our holidays there. Thai massage is the best in Railay Bay Resort&Spa. A lot of boats near swimming area.
The location was amazing. There was a terrible smell of sewage. Once we kept the fan on for a while in the bathroom it would go away. But because the electricity goes off when you remove the room key it smelled for a while when ever we returned to the room.
The accommodation was amazing ( i stayed in a deluxe bungalow) and in wonderful surrondings. The resort has been thoughtfully designed for the guests comfort. Two pools, the second of which is not near the beach and is much quieter. The staff were brilliant and always helpful. I recommend that you use the hotel airport transfer service to avoid a long walk accross the beach with your luggage. West Railay beach is beautiful and stunning location. No negative points to report - I had a wonderful stay
The view, the beach, the pool and my room's outdoor shower. The bed was very hard and the ac in my room sounded like a jet plane.
I absolutely loved everything about it. It's not exactly cheap but it's well worth having a splurge and staying there. I couldn't fault it. Nothing to say.
Hotel has got a very good location, bugalows are located within great garden and hotel has also their own beach, city center is just behind the corner with the great access to shops, bars and restaurants Bungalows are very basic, not relevant to the price. Breakfast was the same for all 7 days of our stay - though food was OK. Lack of attractions for kids. In summery I would expect a bit better standard for this price but in general hotel is worth further recommendations for families without kids.
The staff at the hotel were great and they upgraded us when we had noisy neighbours. tHE location is fabulous. THE hotel is quite run down in parts. tHERE was quite dodgy electrics - wires hanging out in the garden etc and the plumbing was ordinary. tHE toilets in both rooms smelled constantly and there were open drains besides the COTTAGES.iT could be a fabulous place with a bit of upgrading. I have marked that I would not recommend - but I probably would suggest it's a great location but to be careful about which rooms you book.
The hotel was very clean and the facilities are so good
nearby shopping area, easy to get HALAL food, lots of muslim in Krabi, good surroundings, lots of spa nearby internet connection was expensive 30 min for 100baht, not free, because it was raining season, reserved for a standard bungalow nearer to the beach instead got a room nearby the swimming pool. The reason i reserve a room there was to get a room nearby the beach. Hotel needs to refurbish, quite old.
Proximity to the beach, restaurants and shopping area None
excellent hotel, big rooms and good breakfast, location was excellent.
I liked the location on a semi private beach. The hotel is eco friendly and melts into the backdrop of mountains and palm trees I did not like the rather surly unsmiling and unfriendly attitude of a number of staff members. I did not like the mix up over my room allocation as having paid for a sea view deluxe room I was initially allocated a room with nil sea view.which wasted my time in changing rooms. The departure transportation was not well arranged with insufficient information given to us.
staff were very polite and helpful, beautiful location restaurants expensive, not enough shuttle boats to mainland
everything, the landscape was fantastic. very, very nice place no
The kindness services from the staff and the stunning view from our room. Great hotel/resort for a relaxing holiday.
It was a perfect getaway for me. I wanted to be away from the bustling crowds and immerse myself into a time of relaxation. The spa was nothing to shout about, but the location of the resort itself made it one of the best holidays I've had. The deserve every star of the five star rating they have been given. Friendly staff who know you by name, go all out to ensure your stay is pleasant. I'll definitely go back for more.
I loved everything about this wonderful resort. It is a paradise indeed. Nothing. Everything was just perfect.
Absolutely stunning views from balcony, staff were excellent, lovely pools etc. room was not available on arrival and so we ended up having to downgrade. The manager said it was the fault of booking.com - as he didnt receive the booking in time for our arrival. Also very difficult to get to, so quite isolated. Monkeys and big hill walk to get anywhere, as shuttle boat doesnt always run.
Great hotel for families.
In general, this hotel is basically more suitable for those who craves for serenity and relaxing moments. Me and my husband booked for Spa Deluxe Sea view with outdoor jacuzzi, and we got the best room location. The view frm our balcony is really breath-taking. The hotel staff even surprised us with some extra welcome romantic deco and anniversary cake because it was our anniversary trip. I'm very happy and impressed with the room that we stayed in. The only set back is the location of the htl a bit inconvenient for shopping activity, and the food in the hotel is rather expensive with a poor quality. Dining-out would be the better choice. The htl provides a shuttle boat every 2hrs (depends on the tide) to go to Ao nang town which is good -I would say the quality of the food in the hotel restaurants is rather a disappointment with that kind of price. The buffet breakfast is good, but can be better. The customer service staff is not as friendly as they should be
The location was amazing and the staff tried extra hard to be helpful and friendly. We were surprised to find the resort needed refurbishment, and the rooms were a bit worn. We upgraded to a pool villa which was in much better condition. The comparison between the rooms and villas made all the difference.
We liked the hotel, we had a great time there. We were undecided but this is the cheapest hotel on the West Coast on Railay (which is the one you want to be staying at). Decent value or money although the facilities are a little old but it does the job and it is conveniently located and staff is pleasant and promptly responsive. We booked for one night but we ended up staying for 3 nights. The massage at the hotel is of a great quality, the best I had in Thailand on this trip. I did not quite understand the choice of placing a pond of singing frogs right in the middle of the passageway to the beach, they were really loud at night. but otherwise no complaints.
Beautiful beach! The best! The junior suites are a little older and musty.
As far as the location this was a great deal. You definitely want to be on West Railay. East is cheaper, but it smells a bit like an open sewer. We were just a minute walk from the beach with access to two pools, a tasty buffet breakfast and easy access to the other parts of the peninsula. No complaints!
The location on West Railay is excellent The standard of the room was low and needed some updating
The West Railay Beach makes this resort. It's magnificent!
Amazing room, cleanliness, staff was nice, right on the beach, good wifi It was very cheap for the quality by USD standards, but hotels on the east side that are pretty comparable can be found for much cheaper and just a slightly longer walk from the beach.
the staff was very friendly! it was no problem to upgrade to a superior room (with air condition, a lot nicer than the "basic room").
nice little hotel, quite large standard room, very nice location, nice garden, friendly people breakfast is very poor
The pool and the view were amazing. The trip to the airport was an adventure (truck, speedboat, golf car and taxi). The staff makes us wait a long time for the room.
Really nice hotel
Quartos lindos, modernos e aconchegantes.
Sala Talay is a contemporary designed hotel in a quiet location yet close to all amenities. The staff were all very friendly and courteous. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. At checkin they wanted to upgrade us to the pool side room, however we did not like the lack of privacy, so they upgraded us to grand deluxe room instead, which was great. Would not recommend the pool side room unless you are traveling with children. Rooms lack privacy, but are great for kids who can jump straight in to the pool.
Luxury hotel with modern style. Very newly built. Very nice spacious clean -luxury rooms (especially that with the pool access). Nice beach but you have to cross the road to get there. At the beginning of silent district 5min walk to Ao Nang beach.
Probably the best located hotel in Ao Nang.I love the hotel surrouding and features. Near the sea. Look very modern. It has a small beatiful garden. What I like the most of the hotel is the swimming pool. I can see the green garden and it feels so comfortable, relax away from city and they have another small one for my baby. The room is spacious too!.
location is good, close to Ao Nang town Breadfast is so poor; Washroom in our room has odour smelling; reques to delay the check out till 2pm as flight is at night, but the receptionist refused us, actually many rooms were empty
Everything! Es ist das schönste Hotel in Ao Nang. Absolut super!!!
Such a relaxing place!
spacious room, friendly staff, contemporary design none
The hotel staff were superb at the hotel - always polite and helpful. The rooms were very spacious and luxurious.
The pool area was good for adults and kids, the rooms were nice and the staff very good. Cocktails at pool bar average
The swimming pool is great and rooms were very comfortable. Staff were attentive and helpful. Breakfast is very good. A bit too family friendly - children always using the business centre and also children were welcomed in the "bar" where they were always singing karoke - which makes it not an appealing place for adults to go to have a drink and socially mix. The beach directly in front of the hotel is very disappointing.
we have had a very nice time
It was near from the beach, 10m walking, and near from the main streets were the shops and nightlife is located. The pool is really nice and has great views. The breakfast is ok. The first night we had two beds joined horizontally, not vertically as normal!!!!! Needless to say our backs were killing us in the next day. I complained to the concierge and she imediatly changed us to a room with one single bed but still the first night was awfull! The beach located near the hotel is not from far one of the best beaches around and the nightlife located near is what can be said gentleman focused, as is not something a couple or a family would apreciate. Finally the bedrooms smell like they don´t get much air!!
Location off the hotel is great! food, tourist information & shopping is just around the corner. We were impressed that the hotel provides stuff for beach side activity eg, mat, sandels, umbrellas, towel and a bamboo carrier for it. Breakfast could be improved. very limited choices.
Rooms were clean and newly remodeled. Breakfast staff was good and the food was great! Two small pools were okay, the infinity pool had an amazing view!! The people working at the front desk did not seem friendly upon check in! I need assistance with their phone system (to dail an outside line) they would not offer to help. Upon checkout we had to wait over an hour for the staff to check our room.... This happened throughout our stay in Tailand but usually only took 5-10 minutes. This hotel made everyone wait for over an hour. Terrible.
Great hotel in a good location for Aonang main strip / beach but elevated from the road so the noise isn't a problem so long as you get one of the front rooms facing the pool area not the road. Staff were excellent especially reception who were very helpful with all aspects of our stay even arranging our next transfer to Ko Phi Phi. Rooms were generous size and perfectly clean. Hotel provides beach mats / towels for you to take to the beach. The lounger area around the pool is quite cramped with only a limited number of sun beds quite close together. There are plenty of other unused others around the hotel during the day but they don't have loungers.
Great pool with best view in town
I dont like Ao Nang but we really liked this hotel, the staff was constantly smiling and quick to assist and the rooms had a wiew worth paying for, specially the ones on the top floor.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The buildings are modern and stand our from the rest of the hotels/business on the main road. The included breakfast was excellent. The price does not match the experience. The room is mediocre. The mattress was uncomfortable and felt used. I could feel each metal spring. There were small bugs (akin to ants, but not ants) in multiple places in our room even though we were on the third floor above the ground. Definitely not the $90+ room I expected in a resort. The shower was built poorly such that splash from the shower gets under the shower wall and into the other areas of the bathroom, such as around the toilet. I would definitely not be returning to Cliff Resorts and I would look for other hotels in the area.
The room (delux with pool access) was excellent especially the bathroom which was very modern. its not on the beach but is only a short distance away (5 mins walk)
Very nice hotel. Good staff. Good breakfast. Massage available by the swimingpool. It is about 10 mins walk from beach, but very well located if you want to take a long tail boat to spend the day in amazing Railay, since boats depart from little pier 100m from hotel.**********Buen hotel, personal amable, desayuno OK, hay masajistas junto a la piscina todo el dia. 10 minutos andando de la playa, pero muy cerca de un pequeño puertecito de donde salen las barcas hacia Railay, visita imprescindible. On the down side, there was a lot of noise from near by constructions from 8am, so if you like to wake up late ask for a swimingpool view room.********************Las habitaciones que dan a la calle son un poco ruidosas a partir de las 8am porque estan haciendo obras en la acera de enfrente
They have a very large pool and a babypool on the side which we (and our 2 year old) enjoyed very much. Everything is very new and clean. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. We paid 1500 THB per night which is good value for this hotel. The atmosphere is a bit sterile , not very cosy and the hotel next door sometimes has very loud outdoor music. (twice during our six night stay) Breakfast is not really special, but good enough.
The placement was peaceful and close to the center at the same time. Even though it is a big hotel, it maintains the personal treatment of familiar ones. I must say I had to think for a while searching for something I did not like. Personally I appreciate fresh fruit in the morning and pieces of fruit were not cold enough. Too much water in the coffee.
The pool access room is great and they never fail to surprise us with creativity using the bath towels into elephant and lotus . Their housekeeping people are ridiculous! Charging me for bar items which I did not ate. Anyone to book their room , pls re-confirm that the bar items are intact when checking in and also daily after the room cleaning service.
everything was perfect. thumbs up to the place, only thing was the internet's a bit pricey and the free breakfast was pretty basic. better spread of breafast options.
Nice pool. Internet was not free.
The noise due to the works next to the hotel, the breakfast was horrible and the hotel to crowd and too "business". Not the right place to relax
The pool access room on the ground floor was great. It was fantastic to be able to jump straight in the pool and have access to your room. The breakfast was OK too.
fantastic pool, massage is available by the pool, the staff is friendly breakfast limited choice
Accomodation was good and the location both with respect to Ao Nang town and the beach was good - ie close to both The service was pretty bad and the hotel staff were petty about the smallest of things. The Breakfast was not up to the standard you'd expect from a hotel of this calibre - the bare mimimum was provided. Yes, eggs were cooked to order (typical for a hotel like this), but there were no beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, hash browns, waffles - basic stuff really. This sort of penny pinching feel seemed to cut across most aspects of the running of the hotel.
good location in a highly recommended area. Standard Bungalows are ok if you are looking for a natural environment and you don't mind about insects, monkeys and other noisy/annoying animals. breakfast is not areal buffet. Just offering coffee/tea, toasts, watermelon, melon, eggs, sausage and nooddless
Location, garden, secllusion, privacy. Bungalows spred accross the hill, hard to climb up in this weather.
Fantastic area, friendly personnel
Excellent service, warm people, clean, excellent breakfast, near the center but far from the noise, good facilities. The rooms that are in the back have a view to an empty yard. Better insist on the pool view. no sea view.
Very friendly and attentive stuff, good food, well locatet and cool rooms!!! We enjooyed our stay very much. K̄hxbkhuṇ kan to the entire crew!
Preety great but too expensive for the value. Well, its Ko Phi Phi, but still....
The hotel is located in a secluded area far from everything, so if you want to get away from it all, then this is the place. The restaurant is fantastic and probably the best buffets (breakfeast and dinner) we had on our entire 5 week trip to Thailand. The semi private beach is great and good for swimming with kids as well. When tired of the sea, then the pool is also a great alternative. Great and very attentive staff. Mosquitos! We were travelling with 3 children and the smallest was 6 months, and the mosquitos made it impossible for us to stay outside in the open air living room (which is very cool by the way), so when in the rooom, we had to stay inside the bedroom which was too much when staying there for many days.
