It is in a nice area & very handy handy for sightseeing & going shopping we booked online months ago and paid £20.00 more then our friends with us who just booked a few weeks before our stay, & we didnt specify any special room. We have been staying in your hotel for breaks for several years & have always had a good deal before
Good all round - location,Staff,Comfort, etc. but:- -:Somewhat overpriced
River view was nice. Rooms were spacious Lighting was poor, had to open drapes to get any light in the room. They charged for wi-fi. Service in the attached restaurant (Nicky Tams) was poor.
we were put up in a room away up a windy stairs felt a bit like a little guest house the bit we were put in its a seperate building to the hotel and had to come out to get back in
Our room had a great view of the river, lots of light, and a view of the castle/museum. The bed was comfortable and large. For some reason a room had not been assigned for us, although reception was able to see our reservation in their system. When she assigned a room, she upgraded us to a river view to make up for the inconvenience. The bathroom was a bit dark, and the modern, half glass screen inadequate for the design. Had I not been very careful, I would have drenched the floor by a normal shower.
right in the centre of the town with a great position on the river. staff all very friendly. room a bit dated
The room was really big, excellent en-suite facilities and breakfast was excellent Cleaning standards were not good, dust lying on most surfaces
Good location, views, car parking Breakfast should not be an 'add-on' Room should not be up a narrow stair with access to the building by going out of the hotel! Dated hotel in need of major refurbishment!!
The staff were lovely. Especially Alex...he is a mgr.. in training and bent over backwards to please. He was everywhere doing a variety of things...very impressive! Our room was newly refurbished but a tad small with no view. However, very clean and tidy
the location was perfect for our needs. The staff in general were very attentive and friendly. Quality of the breakfast was great although service appeared disorganised and slow
1. Staff, on the whole, tried thier best and were polite and friendly. 2. The daily room cleaning and replenishment of towels, coffee etc was excellent. 3. Car parking facilities were very good. 4. Views from the rooms at the front of the hotel were very pleasant. 1. Some room furnishings were in a poor state of repair (suitcase stand with leg broken & worn clothes-hanger holders in wardrobe - clothes kept falling.) 2. No view from windows other than in rooms at front of hotel. 3. Occasional door slamming and some noise late at night and very early in morning (but this is the fault of some guests and not the staff.)
Our two day stay to attend a family funeral was convenient for our purposes. The breakfast was very good. We found the shower in our room difficult to control the temperature.
Satff went out of their way to help when booking was not received.
The reception staff were excellent, very helpfull, very friendly. nice place to stay.
Good location, easy to get around on foot to walk along river, various attractions and shops. Nice areas of hotel to relax in. Did not eat in as it was somewhat pricey. Noisy, bathroom not very clean, lovely view of garbage bins....was disappointing. Pool closed at 730 pm Mattresses were very uncomfortable - should have been replaced 10 years ago. Difficult to regulate heat.
Excellent location very central, good facilities and lovely view.
close to town centre
I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights,When i arrived i booked in(earlier than expected as room was ready).I was given complimentey upgrade to the new Privilege Room! Wow such a lovely room.Would definitely recommend this room for couples. Also the young gentelman at the reception gave me an ice bucket and 2 chanpagne glasses for free to take to my room.Staff very nice.Great weekend for all. None!
The room was well priced and in an ideal location for the shops, places to eat etc. The hotel also provides parking. I have previously booked through booking .com and taken the room with the best price. The room on my last visit was fantastic. On this recent visit I was very disappointed with room. It was old and the wall was damp with considerable condensation. The double bed had only two pillows and the duvet was thin. In addition to this we had a dreadful time trying to turn off the shower, which was cold and had poor pressure. These things didnt entirely spoil our trip but I was disappointed as we were away for a relaxing evening, thinking we would enjoy a lovely room but unfortunately that was not the case. I did report these things to the reception who said they would log these matters. I have recommended this hotel, this visit altered my view.
Nice room, very central A little too expensive for Inverness
car parking was handy never had to wait for a space. Distance from hotel for river walks. Handyness to restaurants. Thin walls between bedrooms. When the toilet was flushed next door it could be heard filling up again as if it was in our own room.
we stay at the Ramada Inverness alot the staf are the best
Standard of the eveing meals and breakfast Lift out of order
Our party enjoyed a comfortable stay and an excellent breakfast.
Breakfast was excellent, hotel was stunning and scenic location. shower left alot to be desired, no cable tv as adverised and parking was a nightmare.
Located half a block from Rocpool's Rendez-Vous restaurant, where we had reservations. The breakfast! Also, compared to other hotels, price asked is way too high for what we get. No parking space provided closeby to unload suitcases from car.
It is in a great location and the staff were very helpful You could hear every step and door close on the the floor. There was no room darkening shade on the window, so light streamed in at 6 A.M.
very relaxing the heating in the room could be better
Room was efficiently set up. Bath was up to date. Public areas lacked warmth. Breakfast was efficient but not as pleasant as some of the competition.
The bar was very comfortable, hotel has a traditional charm Nothing comes to mind
Convenience - location to the city centre The breakfast room was cold, probably the air con but when it is freezing outside a warm breakfast room would have been more comfortable
Central location and value for money.
Offered single accommodation at a reasonable price. Comfortable lounge bar serving good quality simple light meals. Coffee rather weak and luke warm at breakfast and poor quality bread for toast.
excellent location and lovely room
Position plus the general cleanliness of both the bedrooms and the presentation of puclic rooms The evening meal was dreadfull. The menu was very basic but the quality of food was probably the worst I have ever experienced in an hotel. I took one mouthful of the main course and left the restaurant.
Very good Spa facilities Dining room is geared to coach tours, would be better for the longer term residents if they were in a separate area
The food was good and resoabley priced location ideal spa facility an added bonus which we used,m had a great time some of the staff could get some training in communication skills with their guests
The room was spacious and clean. Staff was friendly. Good location. We booked a double room overlooking the river, but it was actually facing the other side.
Location in Inverness
The hotel was warm, friendly and well located for exploring the city and countryside. The pool was lovely, very clean and large enough for a good swim. Great rooms, with plenty of storage space and well decorated. There was a turkey and tinsel party there which took over the lounge area so a drink downstairs was impossible.
The location and room size. Dreadful food, the previous reviews were right!
Very nice room and spa facilities
I liked the quirkiness of the hotel - staff were excellent but it was a bit odd as there is no designated reception, you just have to hope there's staff about o help you - there were for us. Three main issues. Firstly the hotel smelled strange - perhaps of old tobacco? Secondly the bed frame sticks out and both my friend and I sustained bruises from it so be careful. Thirdly the bathroom door is glass and in our room was opposite the main room door so if you're on the loo and someone opens the door they can see straight in! Consider this when having your luggage delivered!
Top class hotel
The rooms are excellent, and the staff are very helpful, the whole experience was superb
DVD selection for inroom use was great. Decor, in-room facilities and service were impressive. Very nice breakfast No obvious hotel reception so staff were sometimes hard to locate
High quality, quiet and relaxing. Quality food and attentive but not obtrusive staff none
Staff extremely friendly and made us feel like Kings and queens. You certenly get the 5 star treatment at this hotel. The barman Andy can make any cocktail and you could sit and watch him do this all night long.
The staff was extremely attentive. Floors were very creaky and loud in the room.
Rooms were luxurious Staff werer friendly - nothing was too much trouble. The location was good Directions to hotel were misleading
Food was amazing, rooms were excellent (perhaps a bit too hot), service and staff delivered a personal service. Porridge the best I have had for a good while! Lovely Rooms a bit too hot
the welcome and the staff's interest in our comfort our room was close to the heating boiler which resulted in a noise from the fan
I think is a good location, overlooking the river and close to the centre of Inverness. The double superior room was spacious and comfortable. Great breakfast in hotel. Good powerful shower I think the executive double rooms are too small, fortunately we were moved to a superior room since our television was broken. This was a much better room. Also is a shame that there is no swimming pool or beauty/spa area
As a single female traveller I felt welcome, safe and secure. Staff went out of their way to be helpful.
Quiet & friendly no 2 point plug for RSA appliances
Living in Edinburgh we were in Inverness overnight to facilitate a visit to a Nursing Home in Dornoch. We wanted an overnight hotel, reasonably central, to facilitate bus journey to and from Dornoch. This worked out excellently and if we are doing the trip again we would want to stay at the Glenmoriston.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming. I had my room upgraded - though the building was a bit of warren so thought I was perhaps going to end up in another building, but it was just the extension of the orginal house. Standard of Decor within public areas was very good and of a standard you would expect Although in an upgraded room, I struggled to see what the "extras" where apart from bathrobes. I have stayed in other hotels in Inverness who have similar standards of room and are lower priced.
The food was fantastic, all staff were very attentative, Excellent all round Room was very cold on arrival took a long time too warm up. Sharing platter for 2 to start only 1 scallop and 3 prawns ??????? but plenty of everything else
Excellent restaurants, comfortable accommodation.
The helpfulness of the staff Nothing
Good quality room service food Would have liked to have had air conditioning - the room was a little stuffy even though the weather was not warm The windows opened - which is fine - but I cannot sleep with open windows.
The location is perfect, it is right off of River Ness. The views are spectacular and it is walking distance to restaurants and shopping. The staff goes out of their way to be helpful and make your stay enjoyable. The only thing that was an issue was the shower pressure was very light in our room.
The owners were great... It's located right on the Ness River on the walkway just across a small bridge from town center. We went to Gellions and listened to local music and had a great time. Parked on the street for free.
Very friendly proprieters. Very close to the city centre Bed too soft, especially if you have a bad back
Excellent view, cleaned room and nice staffs Poor aeration and teh room was full of strong smell from kitchen even we stayed in the top floor.
The staff was very friendly, the room was clean and the complementary breakfast was generous.
Local for shops and transport. Lovely view oif the castle if you had a front room which I did not have.
Staff very friendly, good breakfast nice and quiet. Location was excellent. None
A very good breakfast, nice warm homely atmosphere.
Warm welcome friendly staff, Ideal central location for shopping, breakfast second to none, good value, will definitely book again. Cold bathroom, security light from next door lighting room all night.
Warm and friendly welcome from staff, very clean and comfortable.
Very pleasant, helpful and welcoming staff
Friendly staff, including Ms. Janice (she's the best); quick check in; ease of travel to locations within the city from Winston b & B. No air, but weather usually cool. Staff can assist with getting fans when needed.
Great location. Very warm welcome. Very competent staff and extremely helpful. Old house with a lot of character but as a result noise travels quite easily.
Staff Excellent, Service Excellent, Breakfast Excellent. Overhead bed light didn't work above one bed in room. Room was small for 4 beds but adequate and clean and warm. None worth making an issue off
Excellent breakfast, excellent service, great location and was just a pleasant stay.
Extremely central to Inverness, the Whinpark Guesthouse is a great little B & B to stay at. Parking close by in the street, warm and cosy in the room especially when the temperatures outside start dropping. I've stayed before several years ago and it's still as good if not better.
Convenient, good breakfast, pleasant staff. Generally, the property was comfortable and met our needs for overnight accommodation. We had a room for three - grandmother, aunt, and 11 year old granddaughter.
The central location and comfort. N/A
Extremely pleasant and efficient staff all round. Small but comfortable bedroom, pleasant lounge. Very handy for twon and conference centre. None.
Have stayed at Whin Park many times.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice, quiet room with comfy bed and amenities. Pretty spot in quick walking distance of river and town centre with plenty to explore and see. Weak shower pressure.
Not bad at all. Facility including the room was good. Breakfast was delicious, however I could not tell any difference between their Scottish breakfast and the usual English breakfast. For your information there are plenty of guesthouse like this around this one, especially on the same street. Nothing particular, so far.
Great place with very friendly and helpfull staff. Good location and food.
The staff were very friendly. The hotel provided excellent value for money
thought it was welcoming and nice place staff were very helpful the breakfast was great.the bar was nice and cheap as well.
All the staff were very helpful. Dinner was excellent one of the best steaks I have had anywhere. Room was clean and tidy.
the downstairs was refurbished and was really good, the staff were brilliant and customer service was excellent. the rooms in the old part were musty smelling and not very clean, the mattress had no cover on it and the bed had broken springs.
This hotel is situated near to the town centre with good parking and make it a handy place to stop for a city or shopping break with good food and bars within easy walking
for a hotel that was "pretty empty" first room had a faulty tv, was moved rooms and was woken at 0630 by the main kitchen extractor unit which was about 6 inches from window. also about 4/5 floor tiles broken which were razor sharp.had to put towels down so we would not cut bases of feet
Friendly staff. Dinner in the evening was good. However the breakfast was a little bit disappointing. The hotel had some renovation work happening, but it didnt seem to have much effect on the rest of the hotel. It was clean, comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly! Cocktails in the lounge was also a nice wee touch! There could have been a better choice from the grill at breakfast and the bacon was a bit soggy, but if that is the only bad point - I think thats pretty good going!!!!!
Food was good and reasonable price. Staff very friendly and helpful Room a bit small, some machine humming all night differcult to sleep. Noisy tourist staying woke me up at 1.45am in the morning was a bit annoying and banging of doors.
the staff were very helpful and friendly and the cuisine was excellent having no lifts
Our upgrade to the Royal room was great, the jacqusi in the bay window with tiny lights in the ceiling above was magical.
The Hotel was ideally located for a city break to Inverness and overall was very comfortable. The basin in my room was not clean when I arrived and the toilet bowl was also less then prestine.
Nice views, car park I felt that because I booked online, and I paid less for the room, I felt that I received a sub standard room - no bath, noisy ground floor back room. Food was expensive!
Warm, comfortable room - food very good Room was too close to kitchen/ restaurant area - noise from staff clearing up late at night - would check location of bedroom for future visit
very good view from room104 parking facility was rather poorly organised- a good smooth area with marked out slots would help.
It was a lovely Hotel, very central and the room we stayed in had a lovely view of the Loch. The staff were also very friendly
The food was very good both breakfast and the evening meals The room wasn't cleaned each morning.
My only complaint is that the room was rather cold and it wasn't evident how the radiators worked.
Location easy access to the town centre. parking availability. Service good and staff friendly
Situated on lovely location on Riverside and very close to the shopping centre, castle etc.
it's a bit far from city centre. But if you like quiet atmosphere in very near city centre, here is your answer.
