position Lack of a lift to top floor.
Very convenient location for City centre and transport links. Single rooms are very, very small.
Room was to hot
Very easy to use, pleasant staff and generous over added guest at breakfast which in this day an age is commendable
Nice breakfast and ideally close to railway station. Room smelt of stale cigarette smoke.
Towel rails were on all of the time so keeping the room very warm
Staff were friendly and very helpful. Good atmosphere Only 1 pillow.
Comfortable bed; great shower; adequate breakfast; better than some other estalishments in Gloucester! Bedroom reeked of cigarettes; no information in room (on service, hotel, city, etc...) except fire drill; paying in advance; no remote control on TV.
very convenient for getting to cheltenham race course nothing
Unpretentious and good value for money. The only meal taken was breakfast which was well cooked and tasty. Disgusting outside area where several weeks collection of cigarette ends and litter were allowed to accumulate.
The comfort of the room, and the fixtures & fittings of a high spec.
Fantastic spot and the staff could not have been more friendly or accommodating
I thought the dark barn lodge had excellent facilities. I was very impressed with the standardr of the rooms, and it was exceptional value for money
Friendly and efficient staff and warm comfortable and tastefully furnished room. Could have done with a re-clean - perhaps the room had not been used recently. Cobwebs and spiders in bathroom and bedroom floor gritty.
Lovely location, friendly staff.
very comfortable and welcoming. breakfast very good. good value for money
This was excellent and the standard was as we intended for 'business trip rather than a luxury weekend. We were very comfortable and the breakfast was great with everything we could possibly want for choice.
Friendly, willing staff. Informality.......to the extent of no-one on reception(!), despite agreement by email. Good basic fare. Bedding too soft. No bath - though did not specify this on booking. Shower did not work. The extensive facilities not open in the evening.
no bar available, pool and hot tub not available, both due to wedding but not advised at time of booking and hard luck attitude by staff
New Inn has a most pleasant atmosphere with a real feeling for tradition and history. Comfortable if a little old fashioined rooms nothing
Easy Going friendly atmosphere No
ble to leave the car in the car park for 3 days.
Lovely looking with beams Cold room, thin duvet non working hairdryer, noisy generator all night long
Nothing. Glad to get away. This was a nightmare experience from start to finish. Thanks to its location in the middle of a pedestrian precinct, it took me over an hour of circling the ring road in rush hour to find a way of getting my car to the well-concealed NCP car park closest to it. When I did arrive, the reception was locked, so I had to go to the bar to find any staff. The bar was so thick with tobacco smoke as to be absolutely intolerable. This must be a serious health hazard, and all I can say to the majority 77% of the population who do not smoke is that they should steer well clear of this place until smoking in public places is legally banned in July. A barman unlocked the reception in an attemp to check me in, but had no idea how to access the computerised booking system or a fax which had been sent for me. Eventually another staff member managed to do this, then demanded advance payment for the room and informed me that I could not charge meals or drinks to the room, and would have to pay separately for them. On departure the next morning, the reception was again locked, and it was only because I happened to bump into a passing staff member that I was able to return my key. This hotel has no understanding of the concept of customer service, and I will certainly not stay there again.
The warmth and comfort of the bedroom Had I had a problem with stairs I would have been distressed, and the noise from the bar and club went on rather late.
Extremely quaint hotel, well located with comfortable rooms, really good public facilities, helpful staff and good, reasonably priced food. None really
Location was excellent and easy to find once car had been parked. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Having to leave car in a car park which wasn't next to the hotel.
Free WiFi, ability to leave car in hotel car park and walk into city. Good breakfast. The meal was not home cooked but it was served in my room which was convenient and warm so quite acceptable and preferable to venturing out on a cold night.
That is was very close to the central part of Glouchester, and that they had a bar.
Very quiet and comfortable room followed by a hearty breakfast. There was nothing that I could fault this hotel.
The lovely warm cosy lounge where there was a wood burning stove and although I was the only one in there it was lit just for me.
Good Location,Clean, Breakfast Very Good, Room was Large and comfortable. Nothing to dislike
position close to centre of town, only a short walk to shops, eating and local sights surrounding area a little run down but hotel ok
The service was good and our breakfast host most polite and accommodating, providing useful information on request. The bed was too short for a couple who are both 6ft tall. On all of the three nights we had to park in the back alley as there were no available parking spots or access was restricted by patrons large vehicles (vans).
sightseeing in Gloucester
Friendly helpful staff N/A
Friendly staff, very clean and well presented room walking distance from the town centre. Parking was included which would have proved difficult otherwise, a very good base camp for a shopping trip.
Pleasantly laid out; clean and tidy; cheerful staff. Pleasant decor in the room and attractive/practical shower room. Simple but good value breakfast. Poor lighting in the room (300) . There appeared to be an intermittent electrical fault in one light fitting which we mentioned, was apparently dealt with, but wasn't resolved.
the room we were given was covered in urine stains form an occupant having had a dog in there we counted approx 16 large stains and the room smelled
Clean and bright environment No lager on tap on night I stayed, and excessive price of bottled beer.
Quiet, discreet, clean, easy good car park, hotel not in town center no fast food or possiblilty to eat a meal, but good breakfast
There was not one thing that was good! Would like my money back as worst hotel we have been to in the uk. Even rang them yesterday and got nowere....
Easy and with a family of 5 plus dog it's hard to find somewhere that works - we had adjoining rooms. It was handy from the motorway and did the job. Overnight motel.
Rooms were comfortable, clean, with nice ensuite. Bed was lovely. Breakfast was not good, too little room for too many people, staff had problems keeping up with demand, so jugs, food containers etc were empty. No real tea or coffee just out of a machine. Just sausage and scrambled eggs which did not taste nice. Fruit juice out of a machine which had an aftertaste.
lovely large room no
The reception staff were wonderful. The "bar" closed at 23 15. With it then taking the night portaging team 45 mins to fetch a soda water and orange cordial. The gym closed too early and opened too late, as did the swimming pool. The foyer smelled of faeces, and everywhere else smelled of stale cigarette smoke.
The staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble for them. They were friendly and extremely polite
leisure facilities restricted food menu at lunch time
The Breakfast was good The Hotel was very old and in major need of renovation. It currently has an 80's feel to it. The leisure club, was old with run down facilities. The prices were doubled for the Cheltenham festival which was unfair.
Staff friendly You had to go outside the main building to a separate one for the bar and restaurant. There was no proper lift in the hotel.(some very odd, folded lift contraptions by the side of some of the stairs.)There was only a carvery menu in the evening and the fish I ate there was tasteless (no fried fish just boiled cod.) There was very poor lighting in the bedrooms.Generally, the hotel had a very seventies,old-fashioned feel to it.
The dining room was too cold to sit comfortably.
not a lot...depressing place depressing, old fashioned, unfriendly staff who looked at you as if you had 2 heads if you asked them a question
We had a problem with the other guests (rugby team) and the staff were brilliant about it, we had to check out early, but there was no fee or problem just very apologetic staff Dated bathroom decor
The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfasts were very nice.
Hotel very tired overall- updating work is mentioned when you book, but price doesn't reflect this enough.
I loved the friendly staff and the room was great! First time in England and I felt at home! Nothing to complain about.
Staff were excellent - we had a problem with the noise outside our room in the evening and they upgraded us to another room immediately. There was also a problem with parking, for which we received a parking ticket, however the manager at the hotel could not have been more apologetic - he immediately refunded the cost of the parking ticket and gave us a complimentary evening meal. The food in the hotel was excellent - especially the evening meal - I would recommend this as a place to eat. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and I would recommend this hotel with reservation.
The breakfasts were superb, very wide choice and all excellent quality. The evening dinners were very poor, only a limited menu which is only changed about every 3 months and the quality was not good at all. Difficult to believe that the same kitchens prepared breakfast (see above) and dinner.
food and accomdation was excellent - great value wekend break perhaps only small thing was to have better pilllows
It was good value, especailly at teh discount rate.Breakfast staff were very friendly. Two lifts, one broken, other only held3
Modern, clean, large sized room with all facilities including fridge (with fresh milk!), tea-maker, etc. Comfortable, king sized bed, air conditioning and all usual bathroom requisites. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Set in own grounds with ample car parking. Semi rural location on scenic A46 to Bath and within short driving distance from Cheltenham & Gloucester. Also within reasonable distance from Tetbury (i.e. Highgrove & Westonbiirt Arboretum) & Stroud.
Clean well appoinred rooms. Pleasant view over Cooper's Hill. Excellent breakfast.
As above - price of drinks
It was clean, comfortable and relaxing. A place to recharge the batteries. I have no negative comments to make.
Good breakfast Toilet seat was broken in our room, it was just sitting unattached on top of the toilet. Long (human!) hairs on the bed cover
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Also to be upgraded without any additional charge is always a bonus. I felt the prices for wine were a little steep.
THe hotel and location
Brand new hotel, ideal for what we wanted None
Very clean and modern rooms. Food good but restaurant small especially when you have a coach trip staying who fill up the restaurant. Would stay there again. On booking I requested a room not above 2nd floor but was allocated a 4th floor room. This was changed but if they had read my instructions should not have happened.
Cleanliness and staff.
the cleanliness of the hotel and it was quiet and peaceful the only issue we found was the bar isn't open for serving alchoholic drinks after midnight and there isn't room service
Sp0tless Communal check in bar and resturant multi purpose area not satisfactory
Staff polite, and professional Housekeeping poor, mould in bathroom, residue of vomit arounf toilet lid hinges.
This hotel had a good clean room and a good medium to fair bed. I use Premier many times a year and this is by far one of the best I have staid in.
it was handy location for visiting family we were not informed that breakfast times were different during the week, we were not informed that we could have a portable heater because our room heater wa not working.
As always with your hotels a good standard of cleaniness, comfortable bed and a good shower. Receptionist was unsure of the booking process.
Room was very basic - no phone, no connection for mobile phone and no opprtunity for internet access although I did not need that. The razor socket was hidden in the bathroom and I had to ask where it was - seemingly a common problem . either change it or put up a sign to show where it is.
Polite and helpfull staff, Harsh (modern) lighting in room. Expensive for a Premier Inn, presumably cashing in on Cheltenham horse race meeting.
I paid in cash for my hotel room and I was both irritated and annoyed that I had to provide means of identification. What for???
Staff very helpfull. Possible to walk to town. Hot part of breakfast wasn't hot. WIFI is a total rip off at £9 / day. Bought a contract-free usb modem stick from T mobile in the town instead.
The design of the room was good & en suite good size Window had been left open and room was cold all night as heating not man enough to cope with cold night. Only one set of towels had been left in the room
The bed was very large clean and extremely comfortable There wasn't enough tea or coffee supplied in the room. But was quickly supplied by the reception staff
Nice Building Be prepared to pay for room immediately on arrival. Heating is only put on from 4.00pm to 11 pm. Bedding- only one pillow each and covers extremely worn. Bathroom could have done with a good clean. Watch our for an extremely surly landlord.
The bar was very welcoming and olde worlde
The hotel and room were beautifully warm on a very cold night. Welcoming atmosphere and food was genuinely home-cooked and very reasonably priced. Full English breakfast incl at weekend. Plenty of parking. Shower could do with updating!
For a very old building I was pleasantly surprised by the modern look to the reasonably sized single bedrooms. Breakfast was ok except fresh tomatoes would have been much preferable than the tinned variety
Asked for a vegetarian breakfast which was very well provided for. Very pleasant staff. Rooms rather tired, blackout blind or curtains in the bedroom would help. Two bedside lights instead of one and an overbed light.
We were looked after very well and the breakfast was good Bathrom was a little shabby. e.g the soap holder was rusty and the bath room wasn't very warm. The blind was broken. Our bedroom had obscured windows and there was no views whatsover. The bed was very hard
clean, friendly I feel wifi access should be free
Newly refurbished room was to very good standard, king size beds with great mattress always puts Premier Inn above Travelodge in my view. Food at Wheatstone Inn next door was good, very wide ranging menu, though staff a bit slow and had no idea how to put bill plus a tip on to a credit card payment. Breakfast was good, but not quite to standard of oher Premier Inns I have stayed at, out of Jam by 9 on a Sunday morning,
Clean and warm Mix up when booking in
Good clean Functional hotel ideal for my purpose
Lighting not bright enough in room
Clean, comfortable accommodation and good competitive rates. Good menu selection in restaurant / bar. Location of hotel. You need a car.
Some staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Friendly Staff, nice rooms, easy access, good parking facilities. Reasonable price for rooms. Poor food quality and small portions for price. Badly cooked and inconsistent portions for breakfast.
Comfort of room and good security standards. Hotelmeal prices expensive.
Friendly efficient staff who were aware of my booking and checked me without having to wait. Nice clean room.
the food was amazing and room was spotless. my stay was perfect from finish to end.
TOURIST NO LIFT
The attitude and manner of the Operations manager Andrea Eldenbridge I book a delux room for our 30th Wedding annaversary. When we arrived we were told the online system had double booked so we didn't get a delux room. We were assigned a down grade (between standard and delux), a disable room, after unpacking we found the lavatory didn't flush properly. We were then moved to a standard room. which was a disappointment. However the staff tried to compensate, we got a fruit platter with icecream, though we were going out for a meal (which we had to go off site for because the restuarant could not accommadate us at the time our friends wanted to eat), and I got some Priority Card points to soften the blow. The staff tried to compensate, but a milestone anniversary was marred by this visit.
the staff were friendly and very welcoming. hotel was very clean.
It was convenient for a short break in the Cotswolds Children running around playing hide and seek, so was very noisy upstairs. Christmas Party noise in dining room encroached into bar, it would be a good idea to have a bi-folding divide which could reduce party noise on other guests who just want a quiet drink
Leisure facilities Catering and attitude of most of the staff, who were less than customer focused ie they gave the impression they did not want to be there
The hotels bar was friendly and there was a good variety of snacks offered. The breakfast was an excellent standard. The room was comfortable and clean.
friendly and efficient staff surprised at the style and feel of the restaurant - it looked like a poor mans ikea cafe not something from a hotel of this standard
Staff very friendly and efficent, room very clean and modern, excellent breakfast. Ideally situated for shopping in Gloucester or Cheltenham, ample parking and would definately stay here again. Leisure facilities appeared a bit tired and jaded. Pool area in particular could do with a re-vamp.
Convenience for sightseeing. Pool and steam room Poor choice of beers in bar
The staff were all helpful and keen to give good service, especially the Breakfast and Dinner staff Soud proofing between rooms
Nothing really stood out. The service in the restaurant for dinner was shocking. The staff were not really interested in providing a service.
Very pleasant welcome. Well located to many venues in the area. Staff made us feel very welcome, which was great as we had had a very long and tiring journey from southrn Germany and the weather had been bad. Room was warm and welcoming, which was very much appreciated by us both. None although it would have been a good idea to salt outside of the hotel when it iced up in the morning and evening.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful, both at the reception and at breakfast. The breakfast menu and cooking was excellent. Iloved the bacon! The decor was interesting. The shower head was fixed which meant it was difficult to shower and not get my hair wet.
Friendly welcomoing service both in hotel and restaurant. Breakfast excellent value. Room clean. We booked a twin room but were given a family room with a double bed and a sofa bed which my husband had to use with much discomfort.
price, convenience breakfast
We arrived tired, but everything was done to see that we were ok. The disabled room we requested had a standard but [seemingly] low toilet. a bit difficult when my wife needs a high seat. However we coped.
Very Friendly and very helpful girl (May) at reception Wi-Fi was not working but was quickly sorted
staff no bath only shower. other guests making noise at 1 in the morning returning to their rooms
Previously had a poor meal in the a joining Pub. This time, the every thing very good. Staff very help full and friendly. Would stay again but! The heating had a fault, so room cold on arrival. Reception brought a free standing elec heater. First impressions are what you keep in your mind. It was cold!
Location, close to Gloucester but in the country Decor was tired
lovely hotel and location exceptional staff and very clean very uncomfortable bed
Cleanliness, great value. Good location comfortable Noisy due to vehicles arriving at front door during the night/early mornig
whirlpool bath, excellent food and service
Location, decoration and reception. The mattress was a little too firm for me, but fine for my wife. £21 for two breakfasts was a little bit expensive.
the situation, the room was very good value for money the high cost added on for a full english breakfast and dinner
Easy access to motorway used as stop off point hotel clean with friendly staff good room in rear extension Trail bike racing in adjacent field for 1-2 hrs late afternoon(sunday) not mentioned !!!
Great setting with excellent views. Loved the rooms whilst small had atmosphere with beams & good facilities/decor Poor service at breakfast, slow & orders missed
General ambience and surroundings
We arrived at 11.30 and the staff allowed us to book in nearly as we wished to go into town. Throughout our visit they were friendly and helpful. The service was excellent. The decor in the rooms was a little dated and our friends found a hair in the bath.
Hotel was clean Far to expensive for a 2 star hotel
The hotel is well located for doing business in the nearby industrial park. The adjacent restaurant had terrific service and the food was quite decent for a pub chain. My dinner was relaxing and very pleasant and mere steps from the hotel - which made it very easy. The breakfast, included with the price of the room, was well above hotel chain standards - far better than Holiday Inn Express. The bathroom fan starts when you turn on the bathroom light and continues for a designated period after the lights are turned off.
15 mins drive from Central Gloucester. Good clean, value for money hotel.
Access to main roads and the city quick and easy. Although we were charged for the internet we had a very poor service, it was forever going down. head-b board to bed had a very sticky/dirty feel. had extra towels to hang over it to stop hair from pulling.the bed was not the standard of other premier inns that we have stayed at.
Great quality room no
No towels supplied in our room. We assumed that they mustn't have been part of the service, so we bought some from the Tesco nearby. Next day we found out that they should have been supplied but had just been forgotten about. Not impressed!
Clean and tidy. Uncomfortably hot, no way of turning down the heating. When we woke up it was 29oC !!!
Large room. Comfortable beds. Nothing
friendliness of staff limited hospitallity tray
Staff were very friendly. Breakfast excellent! Bed was huge. We took our dog and they even made her bed every day. Location was good for Cheltenham, Gloucester, Cirencester and Stroud. We will definitely be going back!
Location and grounds Decoration was "tired" looking a though it had not been refurbished for many years
The receptionist and manager were very friendly. Our evening meal took more than 2 1/2 hours because of having leaky for a coach party to be served first. We ordered a daily mail which never arrived. On arrival the receptionist could not find a key to our room. The water pressure in our shower was reduced when someone else turned a tap on.
Given the reviews of this hotel we were a bit concerned about what it may be like. It turned out to be a real find. New management have taken over and the rooms have be very nicely refurbished. At this stage only the lower ones have been done so be sure to check on this. They have a great outdoor garden area which on a sunny afternoon is quite pleasant. Our room had french doors onto an open area which was also a nice touch. There is also an excellent walk through a forest behind the hotel which gives great views of the Cotswolds. Meals were pub type food but of good value.
The room was comfortable and well equipped although there was no suitcase stand. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice The shower in the room was a bit temperamental but delivered a good hot shower once the controls were mastered.
Friendly staff, nice bar with good beer, tasty evening meal, and a warm comfortable bed (though the room itself was maybe a tad chilly - certainly cooler than the rest of the hotel). The buffet style breakfast was luke warm at best, and it was annoying having to get up from the table every few minutes to get another cup of tea.
It was closed to my training course and in a relaxing area. Nothing all ok
The hotels position. The food was reasonably priced but was almost entirely out of a microwave.
Location Breakfast not included
Convenient, good room, excellent breakfast
Amazing staff!! Extremely helpful, friendly. Made us feel so welcomed and at home! Will definately stay at this hotel again! Can't rave about it, wonderful experience! The scenery is will take your breath away! The breakfast was as my daughter said "awesome"!
Everything was fine.
Good food, friendly staff. Lots of scary single track roads on the way
People were extremely pleasand and were very accommodating. Made to feel most welcome.
Staff were very friendly Towls need replacing they were clean but very old
Friendly staff, lovely view from room, quality furniture, nicely set out, easy to find, comfortable bed Tv had no remote, room was rather cold even though there was an electric heater
Staff and owners were friendly and welcoming. good food too
the food was excellent, staff very very heplful the shower only worked with cold water, heating was knocking bad did not get much sleep room could be a bit bigger
Good location The general uncleanliness
Location, view from the room, convenience for travelling with dogs, helpful staff, enormous breakfast! There was a slight lack of attention to detail: I had to ask for water glasses for the room, also there was no teaspoon with the tea-making facilities.
The beautiful location, the lovely rooms and the sevice were all excellent. It was very peaceful and the gardens were very impressive.
A relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, in which we felt at home, yet with all the benefits of quiet, polite, but not overly formal hotel service. A delightful hotel in a lovely setting.
The hotel is situated in quite picturesque countryside with panoramic views from the gardens. I really enjoyed the service showed by all members of staff during my stay, they were most polite & helpful with my needs due to the fact that I suffer with "MS". The only downside to our stay at The Burleigh Court Hotel was having to leave this establishment to go home.
Excellent breakfast. Beautiful building. Generally a good location. We thought we booked a room in an elegant mansion. What we got was an Annex room opening directly to the outside. Room was large but not really top spec. Essentially we thought the room represented poor value. Also the bathroom shower was very poor (poor flow and only luke warm water)
Beautiful setting, wide range of facilities and comfortable room. Excellent food, home made. The dinner was a little overpriced.
Quiet, relaxing, Comfortable.
The setting was absolutely beautiful with a fantastic view, we were upgraded to a suite (no. 23) on arrival which was gorgeous. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Strongly recommend it! Absolutely nothing, everything was perfect! The only thing we would say is if you go on their website, please don't be put off by it as it seems quite out of date and doesn't show Burleigh Court off as much as it should/could do.
