The staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly. Our room was large, comfortable, and modern. We had a beautiful view of the city from our room on the 16th floor. The hotel was just outside of what I would consider the "seedy" area of Frankfurt--near the train station. Just walk the opposite direction (east) and the area is beautiful. Very close to the river, Sachsenhausen, and the Romer. We parked our car when we arrived and didn't need it once--almost everything is in walking distance. We would stay here again without question. The staff at the restaurant was very nice but the food was pretty mediocre. Eat elsewhere.
The hotel staff are fairly kind, the rooms and facilities are very clean and well-maintained.
Great view. I have stay in 15th floor. Amzing.
Spacious new apartments ideally located in the city. Very kind staff.
The apartment was excellent, we had booked a studio but on arrival were given a free upgrade to a 1 bed apartment on the 15th floor. The view was fantastic and the apartment spacious, clean and very quiet. Its location was such that it was easy to find from the station, and only a 10min stroll to the old town or across the river. nothing
Brand new hotel in great city centre location (about 20 min walk from and exhibition halls). Very friendly staff and excellent facilities.
it is not just a hotel room but a studio.makes the stay much more confortable.
The size of appartment was very good, plenty of space. The fitness facilities and swimming pool also very good.
Great staff and location.
Great location, friendly efficient staff and superb value!
very convenient nothing negative. website choice which was exactly right. sorry stay was cut short due to unforeseen circumstances.
The cleanliness and comfort of the room. The facilities were modern, clean and adequate for a short stay.
Comfort, price and central location.
Very well situated, close to the main station and not far from the shopping area. Clean, well-appointed room, adequate breakfast. The ideal place to stay for a short break in Frankfurt.
The bedrooms were beautiful!
I loved the stylish cosiness of my room & the outlook onto a beautiful old historic building opposite. I wished that there was an English language option on TV other than CNN or BBC-news only channels. Jet lag makes for some long wakeful hours in the middle of the night when tv can help to pass the time...
The single rooms in this hotel and very small and have a claustrophobic feel, will high ceilings and little floor space. Whilst the rooms are clean the facilities are lacking. Single rooms are OK for the budget traveller but not ideal for business.
stylish old building with high ceilings, easy to find a parking place near the hotel
I upgraded my room at checkin for a larger room and actually was given a smaller room with a shower that did not work, when I went to check out it seems that the staff did not care about the problems. I did manage to get them to reduce the rate to a standard room.
Very conveinient location. Friendly helpful staff. Hotel was quiet and very comfortable
thre were no chair in my room.
Very close to Frankfurt main train station. 10 minutes walk to shopping area. Hotel parking cost 15 Euro per night which is to much.
The breakfast has a good selection of cereals, cheese, bread and fruits. The room is clean and comfortable. The reception is helpful in providing us with a map and direction to the city.
breakfast was good and room comfortable only one towel when two people staying. having to go to restaurant to get teabags and milk, when not replaced. Could not shut the door, it just would not lock. we got the housemaid and the receptionist and handy man none could shut the door to lock. perhaps we were unlucky
The hotel is close to the red light district. There were always some suspicious persons around. I once saw a man giving some drugs to another man on a street near the hotel. Otherwise the hotel was good.
Location (easy to reach the business and touristical points) Functioning the plumbing in the bathroom
Really close to the financial district and the train station. It is in the centre. The district isn't the best, but I didn't have any problem.
It was located between main train station and shopping center.
It was good as location in the center that's the only thing I liked. It's was very hot , actually very hot ( sauna) room I'm not sure if I'm gonna take a room there again! The service and reception was Ok not good not bad!!
Rooms were clean Location is good No air conditioning Elevator is too small
good price, free internet ,just it small room, cooling with fan only
The hotel was in a good location close to the train station, several good restaurants, and a short walk to the city center. I had a good WiFi connection in my room. The room and bathroom were clean. I would stay here again. There were no extra amenities like hot water/coffee maker or travel soap and shampoo in the bathroom. The bathroom did have soap dispensers.
The hotel is very near the main train station which provides a good access to wherever you want to go in the city. The hotel staff were not very helpful and the room was poorly decorated. The safety deposit box was not functioning properly.
Hotel was ok. Double ws two twins pushed together and internet went down. Bathroom really nice
Simple, friendly service - no frills but basics all absolutely perfect.
Front desk staff was very helpful in directions and setting up tours. The continental breakfast every morning was fantastic. The pillows are not very comfortable, quite flat.
does not correspond to 4 star hotel
Very near by Frankfurt main station, 5 min on foot. Clean and new facilites. Friendly staffs. Good breakfast. There is no climate control, too hot and dry to sleep.
Nothing. We were moved to another hotel when they couldn't fulfill our reservation, which was made months prior to our stay. Our reservation was not honored. Members of our group who arrived earlier were given 2 rooms when the Memphis Hotel didn't have any double rooms. We walked our bags about a mile to another hotel. I would NEVER, EVER recommend this place to anyone. Be forewarned..... a "reservation" doesn't mean a darn thing to Memphis Hotel.
The location was very good--close to the public transport and many good & exotic restaurants. It's also very central, so it's close to many important buildings in the city and tourist sites. The room (inc. bathroom) was clean and spacious, and exactly as advertised. There's even an elevator so you don't have to carry your heavy luggage up the stairs. We'd be happy to stay here again. It was a particularly hot spring week and there wasn't air-conditioning in the room, so it was quite warm. Thank God there was a fan, so it was bearable. It's a little noisy as we had a street-facing room, but it wasn't too bad as we're used to living in big cities. The windows are good and does filter out quite a lot of noise. We both slept well.
It's centrally located and the price is nice. Hard to find the place and find somewhere to park
Very good service from the young Vietnamese reception staff; Very spacious bathroom facilities (for us as a family of three). My wife had important business transactions after our Frankfurt stay; regrettably she spent two night used your Internet facilities with limited success.
The localization of the hotel was very good, only two blocks from the central train station, which is very convenient for turists.
Confusion of reservation status and invoice problem.
Close to the main railway station. Chinese food reasonable price and good.
If you have a room at the back it is very quiet good location - close to main station (hbf) and shops and restaurants room was small (but normal for city centre) right next to red light district (good for some, bad for others!)
I've stayed in the room N°200, next to the lift, lower floor closed to the breakfast room. The room seems to be the smallest room from this hotel after my visit of 2 other guests rooms. It was dark facing walls of other buildings and the floor plenty of cigarettes of customers from upper floors. I've been surprised to see that room was not clean at my arrival. After mentionning it to the hotel management, they've refreshed it but bed sheets have not been changed. I am sure that the hotel is using this kind of room as waiting room for a few hours. Avoid room 200. The hotel is next to 2 sex shops.
Good access from central station I think, because it was next to the hostel, there was very much noise all night.
It was downtown. It needed air conditioning.
The room was big and we didn't have to share it with no one else. We were lucky no more people show up for those two night. We have the room for ourselves The elevator. In general everything looked very cleaned. The beds were neat with white new linens and comforter.
About this hotel I enjoy its location (near the train station) and its nice rooms. Breakfast was good too. On the street the hotel is located there were many homeless and junkies screaming and making noises.
Cheap, clean, nice place The neighborhood was not the nicest
The location was great for easy pulic transit access The room was clean Nice pillow and duvet. The neighborhood was not very nice especially at night.
The neighbourhood was too hood
Clean and overall a nice hotel with a downtown location. The WiFi was slow when I stayed there. It worked best early in the morning. The hanger for the shower-head didn't hold the shower-head well enough. The shower was nice though.
the cost for a bed in a 6 bed dorm was cheap, the facilities were very clean and modern, WiFi was free and the hostel was very close to Frankfurt HBF. And for 7 Euros, the breakfast was really good. nada
Excellent location. Close to Train station. Quiet, friendly place.
Staff Price, rooms
hotel staff, services, cleanliness and easy to find on map
This second time at the Carlton I got an excellent room, the wifi service was perfect, the staff people are nice and welcoming, the breakfast is very good and is included in the price. It is perfect for a single man travelling for business at the Book Fair, taking into consideration the specificities of the hotel industry in the city of Frankfurt.
it is near the near station and with in walking distance to many stie attraction. We manage to check in early after our flight from singapore. It is clsoe by the casio and red light. No very safe to move around at night. Check out time of 1100H not later. WC is small and breakfast is very simple.
i ordered a non smoking room, got a smoking room, unbelievable smell...
safe, sleep, cleen, internet good. no
The staff were very helpful and well spoken in english, the breakfasts were well displayed and fresh. No complaints at all.
Friendly staff, comfortable bed, good breakfast, free internet use. There was a strange smell in the room all the time.
Staff is good, breakfast is good, near to station..wifi available in rooms bathrooms are terrible, rooms space are very small
clean room and hotel, kindness of staff breakfast buffet quite pour, couldnt use my notebook as lack of useable electricity devices.
the lift to many running beatles in the room in the morning...
nothing This was a hotel that was in the red light district. The rooms were not nice, nor were they particularly clean. The pics on the web make this place look wonderful , but they in no way show you what this place truly looks like. The sheets had holes in them, one of the night stands was broken, the duvet was dirty, and the bathroom was less than clean. It made Motel 6 look like the The Del in California. We stayed in three other places in Germany that cost less and were lovely compared to this place. This should not be a recommended place.
It is located near the Rail way station and the wifi was very good noise in the rooms and I don't recomend it fr families with children as it is located near the Sex- shops (red spot) area.also the breackfast was poor
Hotel staff were always helpful and kind. Our room was very comfortable, the bathrrom was clean and well-kept, towels were changed every day. Breakfast buffet was limited but quite complete. Hotel location near the Central Station and the city´s main landmarks is perfect.
It was convient for transportation, nice and neat room for customer. Very simple breakfast, lower speed of WIFI internet connection
The hotel was very clean and well run. It included a hairdryer. Rooms on the back are quiet - I had no problems with anything.
Nice and kind staff
The location close to the main train station and very convenient fortransfer to the airport I was happy with everything
Nice hotel, room, friendly staff
Breakfast Street noise & noise from nightclub below room.
Not there long enough to judge; arrived 7pm left 6am rather seedy part of town
The Shower The size of the room
it was close to the train station and to the shopping center the room was not clean there was small cockroges in the bathroom
It was center of everything and the room was lovely plus the beds were so comfortable
There is a drug addiction institute just stuck to the hotel. The drug addicts inject their drugs into their veins just in front of the hotel or some have some anxiety attacks.
There are too many Night Club nearby,it is not safe enough.
Its location: it's near Frankfurt red light area and you'll see lots of junkies and homeless around.
Some visitors may not like having a free porn tv channel.
close to train station smelly smokey room. shower and beds too small.
It is very noisy
Clean room, friendly & helpful staff, convenient location Location in the red light district of Frankfurt a possible cause of concern when accessing at night
We were aloud to see the rooms before checking in. And the first receptionist was very kind in giving us useful information. Room was dirty, we even had a cockroach walking about. We were nearlly the only guests in the room and they didn't wait for breakfast and they didn't give us a refund. Also the hotel is in a poor area of the city. A lot of junkies using needles in front of the hotel.
location, location, location close to red light district if you are a girl. no facilities, poor breakfast, they asked to pay all in advance!!!
The friendly staff and central location and the truly excellent breakfasts. Converting a mediaeval Guild-Hall into class hotel accommodation does have its problems but that can be put down to "quaintness". We all liked it, really.
the fact that it is in the red light district of frankfurt also right opposite are 3 strip club/brothels and that prostitutes ply thier trade right past the hotel and there is evidence of frequent drug use i.e discarded dirty needles on the pavement
Location. The hotel staff was nice, friendly and helpful. Nothing really.
Nothing.. No one at the reception speaks english.. It is right in the middle of the red light district..drug dealers openly selling drugs on the hotel door steps.. Please avoid this hotel.. ! sex shops all around..
nothing shappy furnishing
I would never recommend this hotel, not even to my worst enemy.
The friendly and helpful staff, the proximity to places of interest to me and transport links, and only a 10-minute walk to the Frankfurt Book Fair. The room was very basic and still felt like it was a room where people had been smoking in the past - presumably it's difficult to erase that unless you change carpets. I had three sinks in my room, but only one worked. However, the en suite bathroom was adequate with a good shower.
The location is ok. Near to train station comfortable for tourist.
The staff were very helpful and kind. The room we had, with the bathroom ensuite was perfect. The entryway is awful, makes it look like a sleay scary hotel. Don't know what you can do about that except rent space nearby to attach a decent lobby. The Five Squares (Four Squares) on the same block looks much more lovely, with a groundfloor cafe with wifi. It also advertises itself as a hostel. Frankly except for it being Frankfurt Book Fair week, the price was too high for the rest of the time: $180 euros for this is not a good value except during the Book Messe. See above for my critical comments. The lobby is the size of a bathroom and dirty. The street life which goes until dawn means one has to use earplugs. But despite all this, probably because we had one of the best rooms, our stay in the room was perfect for two single women.
Nothing Everything, the location is right in the red light area, Internet was not available as promised, attached bath was not there, as mentioned in my reservation, attempt to walk me away to another hotel, charged extra than mentioned in the booking.com page.
The price was right, it was clean and very convenient to the railway station, the breakfast room on the eighth floor was lovely, and the breakfast was excellent. The location was a bit unfortunate (at the edge of the red light district). Also, the hotel seems in need of maintenance. There were three washbasins in the room but two didn't work, the elevator did not work on all floors, and the drapes in our room had come away at the top and didn't close.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. I appreciated the nice people working there. The rooms are small and are a little shabby (walls are scuffed and need repainting, curtains are worn-looking, shower fixtures should be replaced).
A resonably priced hotel that was very clean. Rooms are basic and bed was comfortable. Bathroom was clean and modern. Staff very friendly and helpfull. Located right in the middle of the more lively part of town 2 minutes from train station. I felt perfectly safe. If you want a cheap stay with no frills this is your man.
Staff were good Room was awful and stinked of cigarette smoke.
The hotel is conviniently located in very central Frankfurt but the area is sexy business area. If you don't mind that, the location is great. The room was very small but clean. Breakfast is very simple, but coffee is OK. Great value for the money. You can't do much about the surroundings...
staff was very nice. Unbearable noise from outside till 1am. The street is situated in the Red Light District (Lap dancers waiting opposite in front of a night club). Wi-Fi was not working. No Telly in the room. A night from hell.
200 meters from central station. Shopping street around 15 mins walk away. Lot of restuarents nearby. Free High speed Internet. Very Clean rooms. Hotel Owner very nice and attentive. At this price i will stay there again. In the middle of Redlight Area.
The price when booking was too extreme (four times higher than onsite)
The location of the hotel is the major appeal. The room is simply furnitured but OK for use. Breakfast isn't poor as some travellers complainted.
the room seemed clean, the bed was comfortable, it was obviously recently renovated with quality materials, there did not seem to be activity in the hotel related to the sex trade on the street but if there was it was discreet. the manager tried to be helpful it was located deep in the sex shop/girly show section of Frankfurt, it was noisy all night with street activity applicable to the trade on the street, the breakfast was set out hours before and was of poor quality, we felt uncomfortable on the street
Staff were very friendly. couldnt do enough for the guests.
The location is horrible with strip joints all around and drug dealings going on outside the door. I was there 2 nights and saw three fights and women urinating the the street
noone dirty, unconfortable...never again
The location was what I was looking for. The hotel needs to redo its bathrooms.
the remote control for the TV did not work. The receptionist told me it was not his responsibility to take care of remote controls although he did help me eventually. There was a smell coming from the toilet (which was eventually fixed). The hotel is not in the good area of the town.
The guys at the reception, they did their best under the circumstances. Phone in room did not work. Remote control did not work. There was no air-conditioner.
It was inexpensive I was the only person staying there so the kept all of the lights off and doors locked like they weren't open, which probly kept the homeless and the prostitutes sleeping on the front steps out. The bathroom had no soaps or shampoo other than what I assume was the last guest's body wash. The one guy working the entire hotel didn't speak English at all so was no help in finding cabs, restaurants and anything else in his job description. Also, they require that each guest give their key back to the front desk before they leave the hotel. The shower door was broken. The blinds did to cover the entire window. Other than that it was a pretty good place to stay.
