The resort offers many pools for all the space, the rooms are very private and confortables.
Location is beautiful and calm relaxing, natural environment. Construction work ongoing, bad sound insulation.
It's close to restaurants and shops. The staff was overly helpful. I don't speak Spanish and the experience was very enjoyable. My cab driver (from the airport) was my tour guide for 3 days - ask for Raul, at the airport taxi stand. They need hotter water in the shower -- but that's just me. The Argebtines don't eat eggs for breakfast usually - I missed them. They made up for it in pastry selection.
The staff and service were very good. The staff was very polite and went out of the way to help out. The breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of fruits and hot dishes.
The hotel is very new and the acomodations clean. The room is very spacy The staff does not want to help the clients. We arrived at 10 am and they did not give us a room until the regular time (12:00h). Even the luggages they did not want to save for us. The level of the hotel (very good) is not equivalent to the attendance of the staff. The only exception is the guy of the ordinance
The food was good, the breakfast buffet and the dineer buffet was good and the room were clean and tidy During my stay it was sometimes difficult to find somebody who was speaking english at the reception
New modern hotel. Everything was fine. Location - it is plus (no eny noise...), and minus - no places to visit near the hotel. Only taxi or municipal bus.
- extremely clean, extremely nice staff, good restaurant at reasonable prices information about tours to the waterfalls could be better, a little bit outside but with taxi you only pay about 15 Reales to go downtown - anyhow downtown is not a nice place so it is better to be outside
Large rooms, nice lobby, good breakfast Choppy Internet, far from shopping area and city center
Air conditioning Bad mantainance
The yard &pool & restaurant was good. This hotel was far from Iguassu fall.some of staff in reception were unfriendly &they had not cooperative. There wasn't exchange.
Good location if you want to stay in town where there is something to do, rather than stay close to the falls.
Amazing restaurant on the top floor, the food was incredible and came as a shock concerning where we were.
Better than expected. European standars for a 4* hotel: Spacious and clean rooms. Nice common areas including a swiming pool. Copious breakfast The staff at the reception are not the nicest
On site there were avenues to book trip to falls, and shopping in argentina
Very nice breakfast room and nice pool Hotel room was very dated! Safe too small to fit a laptop in it. Too far away from sightseeing facilities
I had a very comfortable room with a nice view of the city. The hotel was centrally located in a safe area. There was nothing in the room that listed the hotel services or where anything in the hotel was located. Also, a bigger t.v. would have been nice.
Very relaxing. Staff very attentive and happy to serve in any way. Recommendable to friends and family and also for businees purposes. No
The swimming pool The washrooms need refurbishment, hooks were loose, many devices were broken, towels torn
Excellent hotel, and very reasonably priced if booked through booking.com. Service at the sky restaurant was a bit slow.
Comfortable room. Proximity to the waterfalls. The room was moderate in size and had no view and it was too expensive. For about UK£400 for dinner, bed and breakfast I expect a large room and a view! Poor value for money - I booked a "superior" room!
Perfect location to view the Falls. The service from all staff was impeccable. Yes it is expensive, but the facilities and service are worth the price.
Its location is perfect, right in front of the waterfalls. The service is very kind and the hotel very beautiful.
Everything, the location, the decoration, people, food and of course the surrounding
I found the hotel brilliant. The staff were amongst the friendliest and helpful I have come across in a long term.Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.In particular I would like to mention Rafaela on the Reception Desk for her efficiency and friendly manner, and Fabiana Arena Dias. His attitude and the way he always made us feel welcome was second to none. The porters unhelpfulness on our arrival. They only showed any interest in our baggage when it was time to take the bags to our room.
The view of the water falls just in front of the hotel is exceptionnal !! The rooms are very well decorated, comfortable and modern. The swimming pool, in the middle of the nature, is amazing. Wonderful location. The food is really not at the level where it should be, taking into account the quality of the hotel. For lunch, I ordered a chicken sandwich within grilled bread, the bread was at least 2 days old, and the bread was not grilled at all. The fries beside were really not fresh, really bad food !!
Only place to stay. Period. Little pricey.
businnes and visit the iguazu falls
The hotel room was spacious and comfortable, the corridors bright and pleasant. The swimming pool area would have been a great attraction in the summer, but unfortunately we went in the winter so we could only look at the (cold) water. The breakfast was bountiful with excellent service. Overall, the price was good for the comfort and service of the hotel, and the location which is close to the Iguacu falls. We were charged double the price stated on the hotel list for local phonecalls to friends in neighbouring hotels. We paid BR$ 13, about US$ 7 for 2 phone calls totalling 20 mins.; the sum was not big but the fact that it was over the value stated rankled. Also, according to the website, airport transfers were included but when we asked about it we were told we had to pay for it, so we took taxis instead, which was cheaper. Other than that, it was ok.
It was a very pleasant hotel in a excellent location and was very close to the Brazilian side of Iguazu National Park and The Travel Agency inside the hotel was very helpful with arranging a trip to the Argentine side of the falls
Great place! We will tell our friends to stay here when they visit! The breakfast, the food, the prices, the staff, all amazing!
Convenient location for visiting the Iguazu Falls in Brazil and also close to airport. Hotel is in a remote area with no other businesses or night life around it which may be a problem for some but was in ideal location for our needs.
Excellent location near to the Iguazu Falls on the Brazilian side and only 2-3 miles from the Airport. Nice room and Leisure facilities. The isolated location meant eating the Evening meal at the hotel. The meal was mediocre.
Just one guy from reception desk spoke english but the rest haven't english at all.
Staff was awesome! Perfect location by airport and cataratas de foz de iguazu
The hotel is within walking distance to the entrance to Iguazu Falls and Parque das Aves (the bird park). We easily walked to both during our stay, enjoying a little bit more of the Southern Brazil outdoors. The restaurant also served a nice breakfast and dinner buffet. Unfortunately, there is no lock-box or safe in each room. We locked our valuables in our suitcase, when we left for the day, however a couple of small (but expensive) electronics didn't get packed away and they were last seen underneath a pile of clothes between two suitcases. When they were noted to be missing we were already running late for our check-out and believed them to be buried in our luggage. When we got home and unpacked, we realized that they weren't there. The hotel was sympathetic and checked over the room, but because they were not reported missing before we checked out, they will not assume responsibility for the loss (which we believe was theft). I would only recommend the hotel with strong reservations and warnings.
Friendly staff and good facilities Some tours were a little poor, in particular tour to paraguay
Good breakfast, free internet, helpful staff at reception worn out furniture, old bathroom installations
Is close position to the Waterfalls, the busstop in front of the door, to come to the city, lots of place in the rooms, very good Breakfast and dinner, verz friendly staff for germans it was a little cold in the rooms in this time of the year, the rooms were dark
Staff were friendly and helpful (several English speaking). Very convenient location for visiting Iguacu Falls - only a 1km walk. Good facilities, clean room. Not much to do in the area (hotel quite secluded) but adequate restaurant with nice evening buffet and good breakfast.
The hotel was so close to the waterfalls and bird park. It was very conveniently located within walking distance. It was also very close to the airport, so it minimised travel time. It is the best possible choice of hotel if you want to be really close to the waterfalls and are on a budget. One night there was a group of school children staying and they were still making a lot of noise at 2am in the morning. The hotel staff did very little to control their noise level.
The hotel is only 10 minutes walk from the National park enterance. NOTE: the falls itself is 25km away from the entrance, so you will have to take a bus from the entrance.
It is located only 1km away from entrance to the Cataratas park (Iguasu falls) so you can save on the travel expences comparing to staying further away (do not buy tours to waterfalls at the Brasilian side at the agency - it is just a waste of money - instead, buy tickets directly at the ticket office in the park). Breakfast and dinner was nice. Receptionsts were not particulary helping and welcoming - but it's a minor thing. Major is rooms - really poor condition, especially standard ones. And rooms are not cleaned properly - you cannot walk with bare foots - heel will be black in no time.
good location approx. 1200 m from brazilian falls and airport, nice hotel with facilities but far from all other things, so eating/drinking has to be done in the hotel high prices transport and excursions, restaurant also expensive, cafetaria is ok.
Short walk to nice shops, but expensive. Varied answers to the same question, very confusing, only couple of staff spoke English.
Location is good, however, it is old hotel, matress is not so comfortable. Location is good and the staff is helpful.
I was veryh pleased with the accomdations. Not luxury but perfectly satisfactory We were not impressed with the evening restuarant. The breakfast was very good.
Bella Italia a gem among hotels, privately owned and managed with the the greatest desire to make your stay a pleasant one. The staff are wonderful, kind and polite. I would recommend Bella Italia to anyone wanting a trouble free stay in an affordable hotel.
Small somewhat sterile, dated rooms, definitely not luxurious. Outdoor pool is small plastic molded backyard version
Great location & value for money. Basic, but clean & comfortable rooms.
Nice and comfy. About two blocks from a mall and with a pretative tourist agent on the lobby.
Clean. Very helpful and prompt staff. Terrfic breakfast. Good location. Beautiful interior. Tourism services desk in the building to organize transportation and tickets to all events and attractions. Free transportation is offered on arrival from the airport but not back to the airport.
I stood in a lot of hotels around the world that are 4-star but this is the only one I felt as I really was in 4-star hotel. It starts from free shuttle from the airport that arrived especially for us, continues to room equipment, balcony, free internet, really friendly staff, cheap and pretty good restaraunt.
nice staff too far from the falls
Close proximity to the National Park and airport. The staff at the tour desk were helpful Hotel was extremely dark
The hotel is very well located, you can walk to the Brazilian park. I found the tour guide(and in fact all staff) very helpful and contrary to previous review they weren't just pushing their tours though they did organise me the Macacu safari for a reduced rate over what was available in the park. Good pool, fairly small but usable gym Breakfast was OK, fruit and cereal only. The dining room was pretty dark with not good lighting. The rooms were a little cramped and not hugely welcoming but certainly clean, its just that you wouldn't want to spend lots of time in there.
Nice swimming pool. Very good location for brazilian side of falls (trip to Argentina can be arranged easily) and Parque das Aves. Selection of hot food served as part of the restaurant buffet and at the bar is disappointing (which is a problem given the absence of restaurants outside the hotel). Noise from helicopters taking off nearby.
Close to the parc.
Peaceful, tranquil environment. Lovely 1.5 km nature trail, other health and recreation facilities Landscaping, decoration very tastefully done -- really liked the use of massive dark hardwoods. Standard room was fine, food was good. Very close to national park and airport. Reasonable public bus service to town. Most staff speak English. Limited tv reception with very little English language programming.
Close to the entrance of the national park. The hotel staff was not very friendly.
Compared to other 4-star hotels in this area, this hotel-resort really feels like one. It's conveniently located right next to the Bird's Park (nice sound when you wake up in the morning :-) and opposite of the entrance of the National Park. Very friendly staff, clean and stylish rooms, lovely pool and garden area where you can take a walk through the jungle, great playground for kids, great breakfast buffet and dinner. Very relaxing hotel resort for couples and families.
I liked the public areas and the pool and gardens outside I also liked the fact that it is very close to the enterance to the falls and to the bird park. The room and escpecially the bathroom were old and small.
Good location to the Brazilan side of the falls. That is in walking distance. For the argentinian side you need a taxi, that is pretty far. Nice swimming pool. Our room was clean, the wifi has a fast connection, staff was helpful. Hotel is a little outdated, but clean. Don't take the tours to the falls on the Argentinian side which are offerered in the hotel. Very expensive. Ask the Argentinian taxidrivers on the airport to bring you there.
The hotel staff is interested in your money, but not in your comfort. The room I reserved was not available, and I was given an inferior room, at the same price. The showers, bathroom and bed are of poor quality, very old.
Close to the bus station, the room was nice. Like that we have a English speaking staff, like that there was tour agency located inside the facility and that they were English speaking. Breakfast was great.
It is a very bare bones hotel, but the room is clean and the breakfast adequate. It is near the main bus depot and conveniently located. The gym is very old with one treadmill that makes a ton of noise when on. The stationary bicycle works fine. The pool on the roof is very small and looks run down. There is not much to see or do in the town, so considering, the hotel was right for our needs (to see falls).
good location no water on second day. no comfortable bed.
the hotel was clean, budget but very good. the staff were very helpful despite us not speaking Portuguese. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good budget hotel.
yes, it is good. it is very convenient for accessing the bus station to national park and also itaipu plant.
It was real value for money - the lobby appeared very nice (typically it is a trick to lure you in and then, surprise, surprise - the rooms are not nice), however in taroba everything was just perfect, including rooms
The hotel is located in a perfect place - quiet and yet across to the local bus that takes you very cheap to Iguassu Falls. Highly recomended More english-speaking personell
The hotel is very basic, but the rooms are absolutely spotless. The staff were extremely helpful and the services offered far exceeded our expectations considering that paid just over brl 100 per night. We checked out at 4 A.M. and they even set up a breakfast table just for us which included coffee, fresh fruit, an assortment of breads and cakes and even cheeses and ham. We received clean towels every day on the bed and they were presented in the shapes of swans on day 1 and dinosaurs on day 2 - unbelievable in light of the price we paid. There is even a small pool on the roof and a few tables and chairs where you can relax after a long day at the waterfalls.
Simple, but comfortable hotel. Very clean room, good staff, there´s a tourism agency inside. Poor breakfast. I went in summer, so the shower was OK. But for winter, I think the water temperature would be a little cold.
The breakfast was really good. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Very close to a fun Brazilian steakhouse. The place was under construction and didn't have a restaurant. The hallways are very noisy after hours even when construction wasn't going on.
That they include in my bill $ 33 per "aditional" person in my reservation. Finally I paid 2 "extras" person per each room reserved with yours.
It was very affordable, breakfast plentiful, although don't know why Brazilian hotels serve so much cake in their breakfast buffet. It was certainly not glamorous but ok for the money. The area around the hotel is pretty much deserted at night, only found two nearby restaurants and it was a bit spooky walking to them alone.
Nice location in the city center. The room was comfortable.
The service was hopeless, the lift was extremely slow and room poorly decorated. I will most definitely not stay at Hotel San Rafael again.
Rooms were not very clean or well decorated and set out. The guy in reception is the worst P.R that a hotel could have. Everything requested was a drag for him and a big negative. A smile was just too much effort. The wireless interent access had poor signal. the bellboy made up a lot with his keeness to assist.
The hotel was in a central location of the town and had easy access to some of the most interesting eateries in the city. The hotel itself has the best lunch and dinner buffet available for the price and variety that I have ever seen, at BR$8 and BR$ 15 respectively. The hotel lobby is not very attractive and the room is rather small, though they did have new tvs. If it were not because of the convenience of having transport provided from that hotel, we would have chosen a nicer hotel.
Everyone was extremely helpful and we were very pleased that some staff spoke English and were very willing to help us out. Our room was on the street side and it was very noisey. Everything else was great, including the pool which we really appreciated.
very good buffet breakfast, including a.o. a nice selection of various fresh fruits, juices and cakes; friendly personnel; convenient location in the city center hotel reception promised to arrange a transfer for us from the airport to the hotel, but did not do it: in consequence, after a long trip we waited at the airport for almost one hour during the night, had much trouble to find a taxi at 2 o'clock in the night at this small airport and had to pay a lot of money for the transfer; despite asking for a silent room, we got a very noisy room for the first night - after complaining we got a silent and comfortable room for the remaining nights
the hotel staff was kind and check-in and check-out fast. The room was clean. Air con was efficient. Very noisy. No insulation in the window. Breakfast tables were messy.
The hotel is in a very good location in the center of the city.Good transport to the waterfalls and airport.Breakfast very good! Lunch and dinner excellent and good value. This hotel offer comfort and has a very good food.Someone who doesn't want to expend much money and are looking for a good hotel this one is perfect. The only negative point is the staff doesn't not give enough turistic information, but for sure i would stay there again. The room are very clean and comfortable. The people who work at the reception does not give enough information to the turist, maybe they don't know or are not trained enough.
The staff were very friendly and helpful
Excellent location, easy to find public transportation to visit the turistic places. The reception staff is very customer oriented. Very good ratio quality for money ly good. The small kitchen service is excellent. The hotal travel agency provides a very good advice and prices to visit the main attractions. A place to return
The staff were very helpful. Location was great for taking the bus. There were not a lot of restaurant choices nearby.
Location, Price, Kind staff, recommended by lonely planet, etc. Room is small, old and obscuration, wifi connection is not stable
Great position. Very clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Some noise from building construction during the daytime. Probably temporary.
Room was very nice, clean and just enough. Wifi was good The rooftop pool water was cloudy and not clear. Decided not to get in
Clean, handy, near the bus station. There are work going on presently just next to the swimming pool.
Good place to stay and above all an excellent value for money (costs half the price of a similar hotel in Rio). Rooms are clean, breakfast is quite nice (but we didn't find it as amazing as the other reviewers here). The tour bureau on the ground floor can sort out the trips to Iguassu from both sides and the Itaipu Dam the same/next day - very helpful.
Good location for bus to Falls and Airport. Friendly, efficient staff. Very clean and good facilities. No complaints at all.
Easy access to transport for all the Major sites, A great spot just beside the door for cheap food and excellent cfe leite! Noise from the A/C units
clean, neat, reasonable price and professional staff
Well appointed room with all facilities one would expect of this category. Good pool area plus games area with nice pool table. Buffet breakfast good. Not as conveniently positioned as we had thought for local transport.
Friendly and professional staff; good breakfast and bufet dinner. Good pool; internet area. Especially appreciated late (2pm) check out before flying out.
My wife and myself are extremely happy about the hotel, its services, its swimming pool, its reception and the personel. We had absolutely no complaints. If ever we would return to Foz (which is highly impossible), then we would book the same hotel.
The breakfast was excellent, their lobby is very quite and peaceful. Public areas were very good but the rooms should be renovated. The safe in the room is very ancient and with a mechanical lock, the towels were old, the furniture sow better days. They charge you for a small bottle of water while in other hotels you get 2 bottles per day for free.
The hotel atmosphere was very nice and relaxing. We stayed one night here after seeing the Brazilian side of the falls so it was a nice place to relax after the day at the falls. We also enjoyed the buffet dinner at the hotel which was quite affordable and quality was ok. Nothing much to do around the area and hotel staff did not know too much about the area to show us other options to eat or see around the hotel area.
