The hotel is modern and very quiet for a city central location.
Good location within easy walking distance of the tourist centre; handy to public transport; quiet; friendly & helpful staff I would have liked to have computer access from the hotel - there was in-room internet access, but I had to find an internet cafe because I didn't travel with my computer.
Bathroom was nice. Staff also helpful. I arrived at the hotel at 9.10pm. I had thought that their would be a chance o getting a tea and a sandwhich but I was told the resteraunt closed at 9pm. A man arrived around te same time and asked the same question. I went to my room and thought at least I will have a cup of tea and a biscuit but I was very dissapointed to discover no biscuits!! This is the first hotel I have stayed in that this has happened.Breakfast was just ok.
Very close access to downtown especially we did not have our car, An access to Internet with PC would had been appreciated at the hotel.
Nice room and very helpful staff. Convenient location for me. Not many channels on TV and what stations there were kept freezing. Hotel in a pretty rough area, which may give concern at night. Room was a little cold, but the radiator could be turned on!
price/ location/ modern decor, appriciated the tea/coffee maker in room
I walked in and the room was massive compared to other 3 star hotels and really comfortable ! There was even a small balcony which gave a nice view over the city. The bathroom was spotless and the room itself was excellently furnished . The hotel is only a couple of minutes walk to the LUAS which brings you straight into the city centre in no time. that i was only staying one night !
Hotel catered for all needs of my family,The staff were very helpful,The restaurant provisions were excellent and the hotel was to a high quality.
Hotel is very good value for money and in a great location, luas stop just a few metres down the road. Restaurant not great but lots of places around to eat.
The hotel was very good! price and location.
location and ease of access and also friendliness and helpfulness of the staff lack of bar facilities
Friendly reception when I arrived at the hotel. My room was very close to the reception, I only had to take a few stairs so that was very positive. For the price I paid (single room) I got a spacious room (room with double bed) with bathroom/shower/toilet in the room. In general it was better than I expected. Continental breakfast was complimentary but it was very good for the price of only 5 EUR. In the morning I never left the hotel with an empty stomach. The person at the reception (not the same person that received me on my arrival) was very friendly when I checked-out. I did not stay in a 'boutique hotel' before but I would certainly do it again. It may be an hotel with a classic style but that is no issue to me.
The room and the poeple were nice and friendly. They went out of there way to help Hard to find if you are driving
Staff size, style, value for money, proximity
We enjoyed our stay. Everything was good.
The hotel is very very clean, breakfast is excellent and the staff is frindly and helpful.
Friendliness, exceptional and useful facilities for travellers (internet, tea / coffee, newspapers) Does not look attractive on the outside, but the inside is welcoming!
Nothing at all The whole experience, bed was uncomfortable, shower didn't work, bath only gave an inch of hot water, sink was blocked, fire alarm went off at 3 in the morning, booked out after 1 night.
Nice clean room. Staff lovely and helpful. Free wifi.
cheap, good breakfast
Based on the price point we got it at, it was a great stay. We stayed in a 6 bed unit which was surprisingly comfortable. The hotel bar was good, and great atmosphere while the Eurocup was on. Overall the place was always clean, lots of staff around which was nice. The demographic was crazy... People of all ages which was fantastic! It couldn't be closer to Jameson. Great bars and restaurants around it as well. It's about a 15 minute walk to temple bar area. 10 minute walk to Guinness. The bar as good as it is, a bit of a tourist trap... It shouldn't be €5-6 for a pint... The rooms were hot as hell, the window barely opened and only at the end of stay did we find out we could request a fan... Not much else to complain about.
The staff here is absolutely wonderful and very friendly! You can ask for suggestions on places to go and things see and to do and they give out detailed descriptions on what you should expect to experience at each destination! The Night Staff was equally wonderful! To my surprise the night guards/security we're very friendly and helpful and happy to give good directions to near by places. The bartenders are cheerful, funny and have great suggestions for local restaurants and nightlife activities. The reception team is outstanding! They are warm and welcoming and available 24/7! They can help you with any delemas or concerns may come up during your stay. On my next trip to Dublin I will stay at the generator and the staff has a HUGE part to play in desire to book a room with the generator again! The only things that I can complain about is the fact that the laundry room often has a line waiting because the dryers take too long to dry. Just for one load it can take up to two to three hours before your clothes become dry, but even then they may not be dry and this leaves people will still be waiting to take their turn while their clothespecially sit soaking wet. Also the bar could be open later.
The hostel was very clean and well kept. Had a bar and cafe which made it much easy to find to find food and drinks. The food was reasonably priced. I don't see why I wouldn't use Generator again whether it was in Dublin or somewhere else.
Easy to feel included and apart of something as a solo traveller. The staff and environment in general make the hostel have a home like feel. Convenient plugs and lights with every bed. Good food at breakfast and for lunch/dinner. Close enough to walk to city center, temple bar area etc but far enough that you feel safe because you don't have to deal with drunk strangers, and the loud streets of the city centre. Beds were comfortable but creaked. Every time you turned or moved, the whole bed would creak and move. Also it was very hot at night due to having a very small window in the room.
Fabulous value for the money. €52 for two people in a spotlessly clean double private room w bathroom. Right in Smithfield steps away from great restaurants, cinema, pubs cafes and live Irish Music. Right above the Jameson Brewery Tasting Rooms. Laundry facilities, on site pub and cafe and luggage storeage. Room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, warm and quiet. Felt very safe also. Nothing. It was all good!
I got upgraded to an all female ensuite room, which was fantastic, bright and big. All the bathrooms in the whole building were clean from what I saw, fantastic bar, friendly staff, loved my stay! Each bed came with a huge lockable storage box, if you didn't have your own lock they were 5 euro at reception. The regular rooms were very small and cramped and windowless.
Centrally located, and extremely friendly, helpful, and courteous staff. No hot water in the shower!
Location. The staff were very nice and accommodating and let us leave our bags there before check in while we explored Dublin. It was old and poorly kept.
Location okay, staff were helpful Rooms and general decor needs improving, breakfast a little basic
Good location and friendly staff So so room and breakfast
