We loved the location and the relaxing environment. There was plenty of space. The breakfast was wonderful. Inclusive WiFi was good. No pool.
everything was good, I liked the hotel, - location is not in the center, - but the traim is going every 10 minutes to the city center (20 min). Staff is very polite and proffecional
Collegues staying at the castle seemed to have really enjoyed their stay being an extraordinary experience. Breakfast was excellent.
Elegant but casual and comfortable. Our meal there was perfection, I even took a photo of my dessert.
The Cavalier House where we stayed is not luxurious, but perfectly comfortable and excellent value for the money. The restaurant in the castle is extremely good with excellent service. The park in which the hotel is situated is beautiful and very peaceful. Free parking is a nice plus. We will definitely stay there again if we return to Dresden.
I have in Karlivers building. Room is cosy. My room is next to garden so that I can enjoy autumn view from my room. Garden in the hotel is big and it is a nice place to enjoy nature. Breakfast has variety choice and because breakfast is serviced at Schloss, you will enjoy feeling of having breakfast in Castle like you are princess.
Location, surroundings, view from the terrace, food.
Immaculate property. Room was a suite with minibar, two small LCDs, a couch. Free parking, free wireless intenet. Breakfast is fancier than normal. no bathtub, I'm not even sure if the hotel is too blame or just me, but I arrived with an IPOD, and left without one. I was sure I left in the room, but not 100% certain. I do have my suspicions it may have been stolen from hotel workers though. (You need an electronic key just to enter the building, and yes there was a safe in the room, but it was very fickle.)
Beautiful setting above the Elbe in a wooded area. Beautiful grounds. Located somewhat distant from city center and rail station.
Very friendly and helpful staff--spoke English so there were no communication problems. One of the best equipped kitchens we've ever had in a vaction apartment. Beds were very very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and well appointed. Wi Fi available at reasonable rate. Good parking. This is more of a "need to know" than a "did not like"... this hotel was a pretty decent tram ride from the city center. During our stay, the tram line was under construction so had to transfer from tram to bus each direction. However, we were in no rush and enjoyed both the city, the upscale neighborhood and the surrounding woods.
The studio apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable; the kitchen and bathroom were very well appointed; the villa was situated in a quiet residential area within easy reach of transport links to city centre and central station. There was also a suitable range of local shops and restaurants close by.
Very pleasant place with a stylish touch. Regina and Lothar Arnold are nice and more then helpful. Excellent impression!
The location in the villa district was relaxing and outstanding. The apartment was well furnished with a lovely view over the garden through large windows. This hotel is highly recommended and we had our own cooking facilities in a seperate kitchen which was an added bonus. Situated on a hilltop, there are fine views over Dresden. It's a much better option than staying in the heart of the busy Altstadt itself. Our apartment was cleaned to a high standard everyday. An excellent hotel with private, free parking.
Excellent and quiet location although a bit remote. Reception was in a different building and to pay by credit card had to walk 300m to yet another building. Kitchenette was practically useless for cooking a meal and at side of bed so no space. Refrigerator was noisy
Very polite and kind staff and beautiful area. silent night. Unfortunately, there were many many ants between nich of window and wall. I felt iｔch at my ear and touch, there was an ant. If you don't have car navigation, 120% impossible to find this hotel. If you have navigation but you came at dark in the night 40% impossible to find.
beautiful detached house-turned hotel, big room, wooden furniture, nice patio a little far from city center
The staff has been behaving as follows: told us that if we use the kitchen to cook our own food, we would have to pay an extra fee ; run after us, while parking the car in the hotel private parking, to tell us that we would have to pay an extra fee (which we knew about) ; knock at our door in the evening to show the invoice hotel room plus parking use ; called early in the morning to know if we were having or not our breakfast downstairs ; Very tight corridor to drive to the private hotel parking ; shout to us when we were parking the car in the public parking to tell us how we should park our car ; very poor kitchen facilities.
location traffic information
nice and quiet location, good connection to city centre, good place
A magnificent setting for an adventure and nature lover. Hire a bike and tour the Elbe. Enjoy the Pillniz park. Pleasant hotel with friendly and very helpful personnel. Excellent breakfast. The price performancce ratio for the hotel main restaurant (Kamine) was under par. Slow service and expensive, food good but not outstanding. But there are local restaurants in the villages nearby as well as the grill restaurant.
Beautiful location with friendly efficient staff. Restaurant was excellent with good service and menu. Main desk staff were very helpful in organising travel arrangements and tickets.
Beautiful location, wonderful to walk in the grounds of the Schloss all on our own early in the morning. Delicious breakfasts. Easy public transport into Dresden. Delightful private hotel chauffeur service (Herr Effenberger) - we recommend, highly, the opera option! None; except it would have been nice to have had a hotel sitting room.
The incredible food is the best! Everything is so flavorful and well presented! The staff is super...this is our second time in four months, we enjoyed our stay over Thanksgiving so much in November, that we had to bring our visiting Mother-in-law for a stay over Easter--she was impressed too. Nice way to share and end a marvelous holiday weekend!
The surrounding location on the River Elbe was extremely picturesque and the castle was opulent. The hotel was 12 kilometres from Dresden with excellent transport links, bus and tram. Breakfast was delicious and wide-ranging. The room was very attractively decorated, with a luxurious bathroom. The double bed was small with a soft mattress.
Excellent in every way
Beautiful. Signage/Directions to hotel from Dresseden weren't impossible to follow but not great either. It was quiet, food was excellent. Need plugs in the bathroom or by a mirror for girls to do their hair :)
Wonderful location, comfortable large rooms, pleasant and friendly staff. Breakfast is excellent. .We love the Schloss Pillnitz park, Elbe River and great walking tracks in the forest, which are all easy access. Access to Dresden by public transport is easy. No public internet access for travellers who do not have wifi.
the atmosphere and nice service pilows :-)
The room was very clean. We stayed at the attic room and because of the window under the bed, you can sleep under the stars. It is a little bit outside of the city center. Can be relatively easy to reach with public transportation, but be careful with the tram and bus bus network, the tram with the station "Grundstraße" stops at the other end of the street, which is approx. 3 km away from the hotel.
Free internet connection in the room; free parking space; very nice room
The room was silence and perfectly clean. We stayed in a double room but the double bed is made of summing two single bed. This was bad for our backs.
very nice rooms for a guesthouse certainly good value for money!!!
Owner was very nice - knew some english, and tried very hard! Room was tidy on the very top floor, and fan was provided. Unfortunately the fan didnt work all that well as it was very hot on the top floor, and I didnt sleep all that well. At least they knew it was going to be hot and tried to help the situation with a fan! Try to ask for a room that isnt on the top floor in mid summer :) Also no lift - although we are young we still had to carry our luggage upstairs and we were puffing at the end of it!
Room is very spacy. The house owner is very gentle. Noise because the hotel is just closed to road. And there is some big spiders in the room, scaring my wife. The breakfast, but buffet one, is so little, and different people get different food.
The staff was very friendly and helpfull. Nice, clean room. Parking and internet facilities available for free. Hotel is situated in a nice subburb of dresden. The center of Dresden can be reached by tram in 30 minutes, a ride which gives you a nice view of the town. The tram stop is on a 20 minutes walk of the hotel. A bit strange that you have to say one day in advance that you want to have breakfast. Breakfast a bit "modest".
I liked the rooms, very spacious, clean, with everything you need. Bus and tram close to the hotel go to the city center.
The hotel is great. I liked the rooms, which are large and clean. It is located in a very quite and nice, green area. The hotel staff guided us to a restaurant quite close (5 minutes walking), which has a splendid view of Dresden. The hotel staff is very nice and friendly, but the fact they do not know a foreign language I consider it to be a minus. Anyway, my poor german with their little english and some mimics solved everything :).
The lady ( I think the owner of the hotel) was very nice and helpful. Thank You Too little bathroom
practically everything, - the building, the staff, room, cleanliness, breakfast - all was most excellent this is not a complaint, - but the stay would have been even more enjoyable if I had access to free WiFi for my laptop
Very good position for trese travelers, who are arriving by car, there is a free parking place just behind the hotel. Good conection to the city center by tram. Very quier and nice area. The decoration is really funny...
The owners were friendly and very efficient. We a large and comfortable room. The breakfast was consistently good. The hotel was located in a very nice area. No.
The room was very nice. The hotel has a 19th century atmosphere and is located in a very quiet quarter of Dresden. We enjoyed the quiet evenings on the room's balcony.
quiet hotel environment, garden, staff, style of dekoration
The cleaness of the hotel, the big room, the kindness of the staff, the decoration of the hotel, full of beautiful peaces of antiquities, miniatures. The sympatetic couple who takes care of the hotel have some difficulty to speak English, but they try hard to understand us. The hotel is far from the centre of the city. For us, it was easy to arrive because we rented a car which had GPS.
Very pleasant hotel in a delightful setting. Very roomy apartment and excellent breakfast. Staff werevery friendly and attentive.
This was a very positive experience for us, the price was very reasonable for the ammenities we recieved. Thanks Erika Liepnieks Slightly hard to find, but directions were good for the remoteness of the villa.
Nice room and comfortable bed The breakfast and there was only one person to work the front desk and breakfast area. Hotel would be hard to find without a navigation system
Our room was very pretty and clean, with a nice bathroom. The breakfast room extends into a lovely sunroom and breakfast was very good. The hotel is in a pretty suburb near the Heide (woods) but close to shops and a tram which takes you directly into the city center (about 25 mins) or to Bahnhof Neustadt (ca. 15 mins) where you can catch the bus to Schloss Moritzburg. An excellent restaurant overlooking the river is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Nice staff, nicely decorated interiors - we haven't had such a pleasant hotel experience in a long time.
Its good location and warm atmosphere The staff was not able to speak English sufficiently
I really liked the location, very green area, close to many castles and good public transport I think that the breakfasr was not as good as expected for a "villa".....
Thanks to the reviews on booking.com I knew what to expect in terms of absence of staff and the lack of restaurant, so the hotel met all our expectations. The rooms were pretty, clean and comfortable. The Wintergarten was a pretty breakfast room. Transport into the city was fast and easy, and staff were polite and helpful. If anything, the rooms were smaller than expected; and noise carries very easily between rooms.
Away from the centre location was relaxing. Very nice room decoration. Breakfast choice was a little limited for my taste. There is no elevator.
The location and the style of the building. It missed a personal touch, there was hardly any staff around during the day (and I fear, the night), several hours during the day there was only a note where to find the staff (in another hotel). Although a shield on the door mentioned a restaurant, there was no restaurant and it was impossible to get some food or drinks after breakfast. It looked as if the hotel had known better days. The personal was very friendly, but very young - students?
Quiet location, has a certain old-world charm It lies well off the main road in a one way system behind other large houses, difficult to find. Only staffed at breakfast time, parking restricted. Rather old fashioned and idiosyncratic decor
