The Arcade is a beautiful Hotel. Staff are courteous and knowledgeable about their facility and surrounding amenities. Centrally located, making everything you want to do in walking distance. First stay was perfect. Great room, extremely comfortable bed, and perfect view of 4th St., cannot complain. Second stay....room was dated, carpet appeared to have water damage, bed was old with ruts and was extremely stiff. Called to ask possibly change rooms and were shot down. I understand hotels fill up fast, especially during big events in downtown Cleveland. However, don't ask me my room preference through email four months in advance and again at the front desk when your going to ignore or know you have no intentions of accommodating a single preference. Just be honest and up front about availability.
There was a lovely gentleman working the front desk who was able to let us check in early. It was a huge help to us considering we had been traveling for over 10 hours with no sleep. The room was very nice; my only complaint would be that there are no fridges available in the rooms.
The hotel itself has a super cool environment and the building is spectacular... until you go in the room. This was our second attempt at The Arcade and both times we have requested a bath tub and paid an uncharge for a room with a view. Both times the view that we upgraded to was a concrete wall 6 feet from the window. They moved us to a room with an actual view this time at least, but the room was just cleanish and had no bath. We actually think that this may be the room where employees take breaks as the table had pretty clearly had drinks on it not long before we arrived and the TV was on. If they charged $100 or even $150 for rooms here, it would be fine. In fact, it would be good. For $360 a night though, we were really expecting something more than a few steps above a Holiday Inn.
We had a good time. Great view, such a comfortable bed! The additional 30.00 for one night parking.
Nice atmosphere. Great location in town.
Pleasant and helpful staff. Dirty, dirty, dirty...stained carpets, broken tiles, torn upholstery on furniture, moldy shower curtain - GROSS!
clean, friendly staff, nice central location had to pay to park, was requested to put a 100 hold on my card at check in, they did drop it to 50, but all the website said was a card would have to be on file, nothing about a hold. The shops inside were all abandoned. Only a few open. $4 water offered in room. no fridge
Staff friendly n professional, elevator wouldnt take us to 12th floor only to 10th floor had to take steps up too room to unload bags. Had to go to front desk and ask why elevator would take us up to correct floor. Also drinks at bar for two beers 12 dollars pricy, and heard motors running outside room all night
Location,staff Very small room
Staff was super friendly.
Beds were perfect. Very comfortable. Pillows were spot on. That is only thing was nice to say about my whole stay. Room was dirty, hair in tub and in the sink. Also smelled funny. Not sure where it was coming from. Parking was very close. My van had door dings. The room size was so small a king size bed was just as big as the room. This place was NOT worh the money.
Cleanliness and layout of rooms. No breakfast included with stay. No garbage can in bathroom or recycling in room period.
Good locatoon, easy walk to local attractions, restaurants, athletic venues. Rooms were comfortable and clean, hotel bar was nice but always under-staffed. Hotel was probably sold out for NCAA tournament, they did not staff the hotel properly. 2 working elevators for 20+ floors after a Thursday night game, plus they closed the bar/restaurant as people returned from the game. Check-in was slow on a Thursdsy, room not ready until after 4:30. Staff were nice, just not enough of them.
Front desk was very friendly and quick to get us checked in and out. Parking was very expensive.
Fitness room great! 1. The hotel facilities are not kept in good repair. For example, the telephone in the room had keys broken or removed from the key pad. 2. Could not check out because the computer system was frozen. I received a email of folio that appears to contain incomplete expenses.
amenities, proximity to points of interest, great adjacent restaurant lacking microwave in room, option to request one was not mentioned by the staff; learned about option by default as we were checking out...
The place was clean and comfortable with a higher end business vibe. No complaints.
The hotel was convenient to the Convention Center. The room was clean, hotel was quiet, and the decor modern and relaxing. The attached restaurant is very expensive--if you're traveling on a budget, you're going to have to walk a few blocks to find something cheaper.
The bellmen were outstanding with holding our luggage in storage while we waited 2+ hours for our car at check-out on new years day. They were what made an otherwise unpleasant experience tolerable and actually enjoyable. The valet service was horrible. The wait was long yet tolerable because of the westin's staff and pleasantness. The valet staff had 8 people standing around the podium (not moving or running any cars) sitting there cursing in front of guests during a verbal argument- very off-putting.
The room was clean, we were put on a high floor with a great view. The staff was excellent. I guess I'm just too picky about the cons. I'm a stickler for good service and the Westin did exactly what they were required to, but nothing more. For example, I asked for a fruit platter & champagne to be put in the room. It was my husband's birthday and it sucked we were stuck in a hotel after a business trip, so I wanted to make it a bit more exciting. Most the fruit was fine, but they didn't pick out the moldy grapes and shriveled berries. There were two glasses for coffee, but provided only one cup serving of grounds. The bag of coffee itself couldn't be opened easily, and since we were traveling, we had no sharp objects. The vanity mirror was broken. Little stuff adds up and I was overall disappointed for a $250+ night.
Just very expensive for less than 24 hours in the hotel and it cost me over $300 for the room and the valet parking was $25 per day which totaled $50, to park my car for 27 hours. Arrived at 11:30 am left the next day at 2:30 pm.
Had booked this room months in advance. Called the week of our stay to confirm our reservation and notify them we would be a late check in. At check in they no longer had a room for us, and sent us to another hotel nearby where we were given a king bed for multiple people. The room was really expensive, and we ended up getting something less than satisfactory.
We spoke to 3 different people on the phone and they were all rude and unhelpful to the point that we cancelled our stay and stayed at the doubletree where EVERYONE we spoke with was helpful and the request for double beds specifically which was the simple request we had was met with a no problem and see you soon. The 3 Marriott women were very rude and said it wasn't their job. Stay at the Doubletree they are friendly and give you delicious cookies!!!
Check in and check out were fast. Everything was clean. They make staying there hassle free.
Comfortable and easy
Close proximity to every major item in downtown Cleveland. Easy walk to the Browns stadium. This Sunday morning breakfast buffet continue to run out of food. You would be waiting in line and get up where the food is and trays would all be empty
Loved the whole feel of the retrofitted space! Extraordinarily comfortable, great safety features, and amazing location.
Recently opened after multi million dollar historical restoration...beautifully done well appointed and great central downtown location. Although not crowded during my stay I would imagine the hallways will become very noisy due to the beautifully restored marble floor and half wall wainscot.
Overall clean, good breakfast. Wifi worked well. Room was modern, but the bed was soft. Had complimentary fridge and microwave which was nice. Would have loved this hotel if traveling for work, but not really the best set-up for a family with a baby. Drunk person wandering around front of hotel when we went to check-in at 8pm on a Friday. Had to carry our infant through group of smokers that congregate at the front door (gross.) Nobody manning the front desk, had to find someone to check us in. Only offer valet parking option. The free "crib" provided was just a pack and play, not really good for sleeping baby (or easy to clean!) and overall the hotel was on the noisier side. Also no bathtub in the room for bathing kids.
The location to everything downtown. Walked to many locations. The wood floors in my room. Friendlies of the staff, very helpful! The smells of the building. Old building wit a slight sewer smell. No fan in the bathroom. Had another light in the ceiling but couldn't figure out how to turn it on.
Our room was the cheapest, on the 8th floor, sounds high but the lobby is on the 6th and the 7th is meeting rooms and lounge / restaurant. We could hear lounge music at night while in the bathroom / tub but it wasn't terrible in the sleeping area. What impressed me most is that our room already had the crib set up - a real crib (small size but not a pack-n-play) and they had included for the first night anyway baby shampoo and outlet covers - it was so thoughtful. She loved walking to and fro around the room and looking out the window at the cars below. There was a mini bar but I would have preferred just a standard mini fridge so that we could keep our water and apple juice cool without worrying about my daughter getting into the alcohol. The valets were very nice if a bit pushy - we ended up street parking because our car is not very expensive and Cleveland parking is free on weekends rather than pay $*each time we come or go from the hotel. The hotel provides a map to go jogging and...
Stayed two nights in July 2013. Very clean rooms. Accessible location. Tower City mall is at connected and you don't have to go outside to get to the Horseshoe casino. Nice facility and the staff was very warm and friendly. Will make this my Cleveland hotel of choice when I am in town. I've stayed in major hotels across the USA for many years and this is at the top of my list for excellence. You get what you pay for.
It was very clean abd the staff were very friendly.
Our check-in was fine. Upon arrival to the room it was uneventful which is less than what I would expect from the Ritz. My wife and I live just outside of Cleveland and I wanted to pamper her with an impeccable stay at the Ritz and all the ammenities and services which are to accompany a stay at the Ritz. Upon returning to our room, we opened the refrigerator to poor a Grey Goose mixed drink only to find that the seemingly sealed bottle was previously consumed and filled with water. After calling room service, rather than a sentiment of surprise and apology, found this to be routine and simply offered a replacement. For starters, I am amazed that anyone would do this. I am also concerned of the source of the replacement water. I cringe when I think that at the Ritz, I consumed an unknown substance which could have been toilet water for all I know. After 30 minutes, there was no promised call from the server and no replacement bottles of Grey Goose. I called again and he assured me I wo...
Staff for sure, location was clutch and breakfast, yeah I want to stay Swimming pool would have been the only thing
Good hotel that is located downtown. Different from normal hotel, a mix of old with new. The location is great, everything is within walking distance, Tower City, the Q, Progressive Field and numerous bars and restaurants. Rooms are newly updated and the hotel itself is under renovation. Try to request a room across the arcade, you get an interesting walk through the top of the arcade as you find your room. Great hotel, with a cool, architecture location. The staff was perfect as well; doing anything to help. Currently under construction, but they are updating so I'm sure it will look great once they are done.
