Cons: It started when I arrived at the Enterprise office. Their computer system was down so I had to wait. To top it off, the car smelled like cigarette smoke and the visor on the driver side was broken. Not a good thing in the Sunshine State. I would not recommend this company for car rentals. In addition, when I returned the car, they didn't even ask if everything was Ok with the car.

Pros: The car was ready and available
Cons: I had to force myself to pick a return flight due to my picking up the car in Punta Gorda off site from the Airport, via Taxi for $20.00 in spite of Enterprise signage. As I figured out, Enterprise has not the "Insurance" "Permission" to be present at the Punta Gorda Airport.
I was summarily denied picking up my reserved vehicle set for dropping off at RSW., because I had "NO RETURN FLIGHT TICKET" to Minneapolis. Had to do return flight reservations on the spot, on my phone & go thru the hassle of getting a return flight confirmation sent to my e-mail account ... which i had to log into on their computer ... so the Punta agent could confirm my travel intentions and release the vehicle. Sorry guys, MY Reservation stated that I was going to drop it off at RSW. Was forced to shorten my stay. Was fully prepared & willing to extend the Rental a few days further. Was in town shopping for a home, had no definitive plan about the return flight. So much for a Speedy Check In - 1+ Hr expended.

Punta Gorda GL experience
Pros: Supposedly they are not charging me to drop off at airport... I hope that is true. We dropped off EARLY as our flight left at 6:30 a.m. Their office is not “open” that early but it was really nice that they had staff out on the lot to help with drop off. Drop off went very smoothly.
Car was great.
Cons: I messed up and accidentally rented off airport. Their contracts say they can’t come onto a “competitors” turf, so they would not bring our car to us... isn’t that what Enterprise is all about? So we took a cab to the rental location. They added about $150 to our credit card for “incidentals” that SUPPOSEDLY will “fall off” of our credit card if no incurred. We shall see... I’m waiting for next credit card bill to double check. We had to wait a LONG time at rental office to get our car.

Enterprise is NOT located at the Airport
Pros: Car started every time.
Cons: I wasn't aware the car rental location wasn't at the Punta Gorda airport. I arrived only to find this fact out and take a $25 taxi ride 3.8 miles away.
At drop off...with a 6:30AM Flight.....I was assured (before I finalized rental of vehicle) Uber was always in the area even at 5 AM. At 5 AM, I drove rental car to Enterprise....no Uber and no way to get back to the airport.....had to return car to airport and am waiting to see if I will be charged an additional fee.

Pros: This rental was about half the cost of other rental companies in the area. They called the day before my rental to confirm all the details.

Cons: What I booked was a car to be picked up at the airport. After I stood in line for awhile I was told that the car I rented was located a few miles away.
The Enterprize manager at the airport was very kind and said he would have honored the order except he was out of cars. He had one of his guys drive us to the other location and once we got there it went very smoothly
Pros: Nothing to like about Hertz. Poor signage at airport. Alamo was the best. They had good signage and employees outside to greet the people who turned in their cars.
Cons: The drop-off was also poor. The Hertz employee at the check-in desk when I turned in the car was also not professional. I turned the car in on time and asked for a receipt. She said I already had it in my hands and she didn't need to stamp or sign anything. Then she didn't process the papers for two more hours and Hertz charged me an extra days rental, which I had to dispute on the phone in order to get refunded.

Pros: Pickup/dropoff went very quickly and the representatives were very friendly.
Cons: We paid to have a tank of gas filled for us because the gas price was cheaper with AAA. What wasn't explained to us was that we would be paying for a full tank of gas, whether we used it all or not. We only used 3/8 of a tank, but paid for the full tank.

Punta Gorda Airport
Pros: Service person was very friendly and made us feel welcome. The car was clean. The only problem was the fuel for the car. The tank was only 3/4 full, but the representative explained the situation and told us to only fill it to the 3/4 line when it was returned. I believe the gas gauge was defective. I will keep an eye on my credit card to make sure I am not charged for gasoline.

Pros: Convienance, economic
Cons: I did not cancel my reservation, but my friend switch over to her name to pay for rental instead. I was charged a $100 fee and shouldn't have been. Now I have to wait until Monday to rectify this situation.

Pros: OJ didn't leap over chairs in terminal to get us our car faster, or to stab us...
Cons: Car hadn't been cleaned, inside we found a half smoked cigarette pack in door pocket and Monster can under the seat.
Car had tar on exterior in several places... Call to make sure we weren't held responsible revealed that Hertz employee hadn't set up gold rewards to allow spouse to drive vehicle. Wasted over an hour on several phone calls to straighten out... Lots of finger pointing between local and national employees... Finally got another local Hertz dealer to straighten out problem...

Car reserved was not available
Cons: I called the morning before picking up to make sure the reservation was set and was told there were no problems. When I arrived, they did not have the car and suggested I rent from a competitor at a rate $500 more.
