Pros: Too much money, they did not honer the internet advertised price SO I WALKED AWAY.
Cons: I now don't trust the price I see, And will go else where. In the UK it is ileagel to advertise a price then change it.
Jamacia is different, I don't know why, but if it feels a rip off WALK AWAY.

Worst car hire I've ever seen
Pros: From start to finish I was very disappointed. The quality of the cars was poor. I left and ended up not taking the car after paying over 700 usd. After 2 weeks I'm still awaiting my refund

Get what you pay for
Pros: The car was roomy. Wasnt a bad deal at all
Cons: Didnt like the fact we had to purchase insurance instead of using our existing insurance.

Pros: It worked and was good on gas.
Cons: Radio was in Japaneses and didn't work because Antenna was broken. Car had defrosters that weren't working. No automatic lock, so you have to use the key for everything. Brakes weren't tight.

Cons: Multiple fees that were added on that were not included in the price that are "required by jamaican law." Yeah, sure. Be prepared to pay double what is quoted through the travel website you book through.

Cons: You need to tell people that the insurance of 15 to 24 dollars a day is mandatory. Completely changes the daily rate. I would not have rented a car if I new.

Poor service. The car was not even available
Cons: Once we arrived to the Thrifty counter, they told us that they did not have cards available. It seems to me that they did not want to honor the rate I got when I booked the car. They could not give any explanation besides that they did not have enough vehicles. Had to go with other rental company.
Pros: The staff was great. Very helpful with answers to all my questions.
Cons: The rental price was a bit much but the vehicle itself was great.

Very smoothe by Jamaican standards
Pros: Upgraded at no charge to a Suzuki Baleno. Great fuel economy, plenty of room and cargo space. Car was loke new and clean.
Cons: Check in took a while, but by Jamaican standards went pretty smoothe. All the rental companies are in a tiny lot at MBJ airport. A little challenging maneuvering to the main road.

Ripp-Off Jamaican Rental Car know as Chablis and/
Cons: They required a $1000 deposit Hold for the rental. This was not indicated when I made the reservation online. They would not accept some major credit cards for some obscure 'insurance' reasons.
The roads in Jamaica are bad. Potholes are everywhere. Getting a flat tire is a high probability. We had one. We paid for the repair. Rental Car company charged us for a 'new' tire because they would not accept the repair to the flat. This cost us another $100 in total. They also wanted 'cash' for the replacement tire and did not want to take a credit card. I assume they thought we might fight it when we got home. Never rent from a local rental car company versus a major provider like Hertz. You may pay a little more but with a lot less aggravation. .

Pros: red stripe in office. if it wasn't for one girl in the office that told the other girl behind counter that my girls credit card was good she was going to charge me 200 more
Cons: airport pickup driver let unknown subject pick my bags up and put them in the pickup drivers vehicle. unbeknownst to me unknown subject did not work for challis. us demanded a fee from me, thinking he worked for challis I tipped him. unprofessional. then the office tried to charge me another 200. for not having the credit card they used. my girl had one finally. did not see in the fine print u needed a chase world credit card to waive cdw. Yaris was a box,270.000 miles my girl said. batt kept dying u could start it with a fingernail file. finally after 2 batteries they figured the key was being pulled out in acces. due to a worn key. they brought me a Honda, nice finally. good service.

Pros: Nothing at all
Cons: The price was 3x higher than quoted on the reservation. Very slow process of pick-up and drop off. Asked for a 12,000USD hold is I would not accept their insurance while I have my own attached to the credit card. Tank was half empty when I picked up. There was no washing liquid Please avoid them.
Pros: The man who helped me was nice. It was just a little bait and switch like. I hope you guys review this location.

Pros: The staff were friendly and very accommodating. Pick up and return to the airport was very fast.
Cons: I was not told that I had to put down $1000US deposit. That was a gut hit to start a vacation. While we had no mechanical issues the quality of the car left deep concern that we could. Luckily, we had the car incident free. I think the basic details for renting in particular country needs to be explained when that location is selected during the booking process or any requirements for the selected rental company. I am still awaiting my deposit to be returned. It's crazy that I had to pay up $1000US defore I could get the car but now have to wait days after returning the car to get my deposit back.
Worse of all my booking was for 4/12 to 4/20 and they had me down for returning the car on 4/19 at the same rate I was quote when booking the car. My reservations stated - week + 1day. They wanted to change me $52 more for 20th. Fortunately, I had my reservation info and they wrote off the last day as part of my reservation.
Pros: The customer service was Poor and extremely slow. It took approximately 2 hours to finish the paperwork. I was taken off-airport to another site to complete the paperwork. There I was told the booking was not with Hertz but with another company called "Firefly."
These people appear to running a sub-standard rental service with old and salvaged vehicles with the Hertz brand as cover.
The car provided was an old model year Toyota Corolla that looked like it was salvaged from an accident. They made an effort to clean it but it still had a weird smell and it looked battered.
Despite the substandard look of the car, I took it anyway in order to remain loyal to Hertz as Gold Plus member and gain some points. On the drive to the hotel I noticed the car was extremely mis-aligned, it had a significant drift to the right. The engine struggled the whole time for the 10 mile trip that was mostly flat. I intended to travel across the island and I had serious doubts the car would be able to make it especially over the steep hills of Jamaica. I knew for sure it would be difficult if not unsafe to drive it at highway speed due to the mis-alignment so I returned it with the intention of getting a newer, better car.
Upon returning to the airport, they had a newer model Toyota Corolla on the lot but they said it would cost me more because the newer car is a Hertz vehicle while the older car with the lower rate is the "Firely" rental. There was no documentation during the booking process that showed any reference to Firefly, I thought I was booking a Hertz rental. I feel I was SCAMMED. I asked to be given the newer "Hertz" vehicle for the same rate but they refused.
Five hours after landing and beginning the rental process I'm still dealing with a rental car issue. Luckily, I also had a reservation with Island rental car. I asked Hertz to void my current rental because I will be going over to Island car rental to get a car, They were not fazed by that threat, they did not seem to want to keep the business which I found odd. They voided the rental after a significant amount of that persuading them that I should not be charged for the day because the car was in bad mechanical shape and I did not use apart from driving to the hotel and back.
I then walked over to the Island Car rental counter and about 15 minutes later I drove away in newer Toyota Corolla. Note that the Island rental rate was less that the Hertz rate but I had chosen to go with the Hertz brand because I know them and rent from them while on business trips in the States.
This event has tarnished the Hertz brand for me. When I am renting again in Jamaica I will avoid Hertz. I will definitely recommend and use Island Car Rental again.
Cons: The whole experience was terrible. The process is too slow. The operation runs like they are in the 1980s. Why are they using so much paper and carbon copies in 2017? If this is a true Hertz rental facility they need to update their operations processes - it should not take two hours to complete a rental contract.

Cons: When I arrived at the Europcar desk in Montego Bay nobody was there I had to wait for 30 minutes before someone turned up. They tried to take $1500 for the deposit instead of the $1000 deposit which was stated on my booking. Worse still they did not give me the Suzuki Vitara jeep that I had booked and paid for in advance. Instead they gave me a people carrier on a temporary basis but the sat nav and spoken instructions were in Japanese. I do not speak Japanese! They said there was a minor problem with the Suzuki Vitara which would be fixed but they would bring the car to me the following day to the place where I was staying instead. They did not fulfil this arrangement and did not contact me at all regarding the the car. I called them every day since my arrival to find out when would the Suzuki be delivered to me, as the people carrier was totally unsuitable for my needs. They were unable to give me an update on the situation. On the sixth day of my trip I spoke to the so-called Customer Services desk again and all they could do was apologise and then they told me that the Suzuki was now ready for me to collect at the airport. I told them that it was unreasonable to expect me to drive back to the airport to collect the Suzuki when they should have delivered it to me as they agreed. Besides, I was actually leaving Jamaica the following day. I have heard that this may have been a scam as Europcar may have given the Suzuki Vitara car to another Customer and charged them a premium price for it. Don't use Europcar Montego Bay!
