Pros: The service counter was quick, we had a small problem and it was resolved quickly and easily. The manager, Sheila, was fun to talk to and worked quickly to get people their cars.
Cons: When I tried to use a coupon at the desk, I was told I had to call customer service, so I did. The guy on the phone made the rental cost about $80 MORE with my discount coupon. The. Manager had to fix it. The car had a problem with the wheel rubbing on something when we had four people riding in it.

Twice the price of the Kayak offer
Pros: The car was clean and nice, and they processed me pretty quickly
Cons: What's the point of choosing a rental company according to a quote if, on site, they more than double it with fees and taxes and insurance you can't really decline? There's nothing honest about such policy.

Cons: They're confirmed price suddenly didn't include taxes when we picked up the car, tacking on an additional $84 even though the confirmation email indicated that the booking price was the final price including taxes. No attempt was made to bring the price in line with the confirmation email price.
Cons: Vehical badly needed a car wash. Did not have car I requested so I had to pay extra for a larger car.

Pros: I was surprised to receive a VW Beetle for my rental vehicle. It was a fun car to buzz around in.
Cons: The car was really dirty on the outside when I picked it up. Also the agent gave me a hard sell on the additional insurance. It detracted from the experience and made me nervous to drive the car after I declined the coverage.

Pros: Rental location is at the airport via tram.
Cons: My reserved car was NOT available. What's the point of a reservation if the car is not there?
Wasted too much at the counter while staff tried to upsell me on a much more expensive SUV.
I'll take Uber next time.

They were out of cars and so I was out of luck.
Cons: I arrived at the desk after my flight only to find out that it was a 2 hour wait until they would have a car available. I got on the phone and soon found another car at Enterprise 12 miles away from the airport for the same price. Other agencies at the airport had cars available but wanted to charge double or quadruple my original price with Payless. Got an Uber ride for $11 and was on my way to Enterprise--and they allowed me to return the car to the airport when I was done. Thanks Enterprise! :)
Payless staff could have helped customers to reebook--it took me a good 30-45 minutes on my phone.

The worst rental experience ever!!
Cons: They fish you with low online prices and then try to jag it up. They would not take my Debitcars, which that's how the reservation was made and refused to rent me a car then.. The rental place next to them would of taken my Card. ..but the car was over $250 dollar more expensive!!! I was stuck there and thank God for Enterprise Car rental!! Within 3 min I had a car and also to a super low rate with my Debit card!! No question asked. The nicest people and it took me only a couple min not like with Payless almost 2 hours of BS!! I would not recommend Payless to anyone. Be aware!

Will never use in ATL again
Pros: Reasonable rate.
Cons: Only 2 service reps with long line. When I finally got to front one of the reps took a break. I commented out loud "no, no no, just one more". The other rep seemed to take exception to it. So when he got to me he indicated I needed something to prove the address on my driver's license. Of course I had no such thing with me. He asked me to step aside and away from the counter. I noted that the contract had no such requirement, but did not have it with me. He said it was on there.
After an hour of fumbling, I registered for online banking through a very poor Wi-Fi connection. I was able to display the account address and a cancelled check. This harassment caused me to miss a meeting. I attempted to rent another car to see if the address requirement was on there - and it was not. The rep purely wanted to delay and harass me. Should be fired.
Cons: The price fouled at check. I was trying to be budget consciencouis and in the end the rental car for one day cost over $300. I was late on return which indontneven rememver discussing the return time and they charged me for another full day. And it was already an expensive rental because I was dropping off in a different location. They included that cost in the 2nd says price as well. Crazy expensive for have this little car for just over 24 hrs. I certainly will never rent from hertz again.
Also the car smelled.

Cons: I found it bit pricey for the car to be picked up from one location and dropped to other location. It was almost 4 times on the price of pick and drop at same location.

Pros: The desk staff was very friendly and pickup and drop off was fast and easy.
Cons: The car was crappy. I guess that's not really Hertz's fault bc it was clean, it was just a bad car in general.

Reservations are not Guaranteed
Cons: I reserved a car on Monday for Wesnesday morning in Atlanta. I arrived 10 minutes early to give time for paperwork. Upon my arrival the Enterprise Employee told me they were completely sold out of vehicles. I asked how that was possible if I had already received confirmation for my reservation. Then he told me that they sold out of cars after I made my reservation. Another excuse was that the Delta outage (which happened over a week ago) had their entire fleet at the airport. What's the point of reserving a car if they're just going to sell it to the next walk in customer anyway? It is a very unprofessional way of doing business and they had no ETA's on any cars coming in that day. I had to cancel my reservation. I will not be renting from Enterprise ever again because you're not guaranteed to get a rental. If you have somewhere important to be, I suggest trying another rental company.

Didn't get the price I thought I was getting
Cons: Got a great deal at $116 for the week.
Got to airport only to find out that the car was booked for a different pickup location than the airport.
Ended up paying $267 so kinda pissed off about the whole thing. Would have planned it differently for this price.

Pros: Robert in ATL behind the desk was OUTSTANDING but the car was horrid! Filthy and never cleaned prior to my rental. Found a sweatshirt and bib in backseat that belonged to someone else. Found food, Kleenex, trash, and gravel in car.
Right front blinker was out. Dent on right front side. Car idles rough.

9 out of 10 - Very Good Overall!
Pros: Car was very clean, everything worked inside, no issues with that.
Trunk was plenty big for our suitcases. The staff was friendly despite being swamped with customers.
Cons: Slight delay in picking up the vehicle due to lots of people trying to rent all at the same time. They didn't have the car actually on the lot and we were trying to avoid ATL traffic by picking it up before rush hour. Wound up getting stuck as a result, not the end of the world just not the fastest, but they were busy so I understand.
The car itself was a little small inside, got a little cramped for a person taller than average to drive.

Pros: The car was fine.
Cons: The woman at the rental counter tried to sell us insurance that was already covered by our own insurance. She insisted it would not so we called our insurance company and, guess what. It was covered and she was going to charge us $24 extra per day.
Pros: I liked the price on kayak and it was easy to reserve the car.
Cons: I didn't like the fact it was the wrong location and there were hidden fees

Cons: Like all car rentals, slow pickup process. That takes way too long. Car a bit dirty. Only had 1/4 of a tank of gas. Impossible to judge gas to pump so returned it with 3/4 of a tank. - of course I don't get money back for giving thrifty more gas. - At return lady was condescending, "Baby, you forgot to fill it up & we gonna charge you $10/gal".
So far I haven't experienced a great customer service car rental.

Pros: Thrifty made it very easy to rent and return our rental car. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgable about the area. They gave us great recommendations on places to visit and eat! Would highly recommend using them and look forward to renting from them in the future.

Cons: Immediately assessed a fuel surcharge upon arrival and assessed an additional day. I showed the receipt for fuel and the surcharge was removed, but they still assessed the extra day, which was ridiculous as the car was returned on time, their agents were just too busy to get to the car.

Cons: I arrived at Atlanta Airport 11:50 PM this past Tuesday night and no one was manning their counter at the Atlanta Rental Center unlike the other companies. After banging on the counter and wandering around for 15 minutes seeking help I finally someone who informed me that their garage booth was located at the other end of the facility. My treatment there was fine. However, I informed the representative that no one was at the main "Rent - A - Center (?)" booth and no sign was there directing customers to the garage booth. She said that was clearly unacceptable and that 2 people should have been there. This was a big inconvenience especially after arriving from a long flight.
The rest of my experience was fine and the Thrifty representative in the garage booth could not have been nicer and helpful.
Cons: Agent informed me that no upgrades were available (I am preferred select) and then assigned me the one in the reserved class with the most miles and most poorly equipped of the three they had. Original car smelled of smoke.

Cons: We were unable to rent the car. The employee was so rude! I reserved the car through Kayak but the Avis directions didn't specify that we needed an alternate credit card, where to find the rental center, etc.

Cons: The service agents I spoke to had no idea what was going on. They couldn't tell me if the return location was open on the day I wanted to return the car. They couldn't tell me if I'd be charged for an extra day if they were closed. I told them repeatedly that there had been a natural disaster (a horricane) and the city had evacuated but they didn't seem to understand at all. I decided to go with a different company.
