I love the hotel's theme and decor - rustic collegiate. The bed was very comfortable and the curtains blocked out a lot of light! The location was great - just around the corner from UVA and a leisurely walk to the downtown mall (about 1 mile). The staff was welcoming and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again!
Air conditioning was not working. Hvac unit ran all night. Room was very hot
Great coffee shop and restaurant. Excellent location and friendly and helpful staff Nothing
Hotel facilities were good and room was comfortable. Although outside of the city centre there were plenty of placed to eat locally. Check in was slow. Could not understand why we had to wait 2 hours for our room to be available. Check out is 11am and yet they did not have a room available until 3:30 in the afternoon.
Good location. Hotel staff very friendly. Rooms are well maintained and roomy. Always enjoy the cookie at check in. Wish they would have a mini fridge in room.
We were very disappointed with this location. We don't get to travel very often so we were really looking forward to staying in what we thought was a "nice" hotel. This location shouldn't be able to have the Hilton name. We stayed in a room that was very damp and had mold growing in the bathroom. I'm sick now from staying in that room. When we told the guy at the front desk, he did say that we was very sorry, but didn't do anything else. We will not be staying at this hotel anymore.
Staff very friendly. I would definitely use this hotel again.
Staff was excellent. Bed was very comfortable. Room size good value. Free Internet!!
The room was enormous! Beautiful views, very clean hotel. Great service.
Loved the pool, spa and gym facilities. They have a nice open, relaxing terrace feel. TJ's is a nice restaurant and convenient. The executive floor is affordable and includes breakfast and evening cocktail hour--a good value. Rooms should include a minibar and on-demand tv.
The location was excellent, staff friendly, and service was great! Loved the cookies when we arrrived! Our shower faucet was totally broken and when we mentioned this at checkout, we were charged only half the price for the night...a very nice reaction!
We didn't stay but a night but really loved the pool area and the bar/restaurant. Our server was very nice and everything tasted great. We picked the cheapest room option so we knew it wasn't going to be fancy, but still very nice and clean. The beds and pillows were much more comfortable than I imagined. Very pleased with our stay.
The whole place is so dated! Looks like the 70's. Bathrooms are small and cramped . Pool area and exercise plus the lobby need to be complely redone.
Exceptional service and accommodations. Great location with plenty of shops and dining steps away. No complaints.
Great location on the Charlottesville Mall. Pleasant hotel with a business-visit atmosphere. We stayed when the price was reduced, which is the only time I think the Omni is worth the money. For the orindary nightly rate (>$250-300/night), I prefer to stay at a B&B, Boars Head, or even a vacation rental.
Location is excellent, which is why we stayed there. Right on the downtown pedestrian mall. Every single member of the staff I encountered was great.. The supposed "premium" room was tiny. It's window overlooked the lobby, and it was adjacent to the elevator shaft. Considering this, I feel this hotel is over-priced and a questionable value, at least this particular room.. previous stays here were more pleasant, however, still, for Charlottesville, overpriced.
Clean and friendly staff Nothing
very convenient new, clean and easy to stay there
Location and amenities Over all pleasant stay. Clean nice rooms.
The hotel was very clean, the staff helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Great location good proximity to nice restaurants.
Room was new, clean, modern an quiet; great hot free breakfast with starbucks coffee; friendly staff!
The room and location were fantastic. The staff was weird esp. the overnight staff. We were there for a pre Valentines Day excursion. We are adults and we smoke so we were in our car discussing something funny and the overnight manager (presumably a politically correct college student) mistook my wife smacking me on the arm as some form of domestic abuse and called the police. We were horribly embarrassed and will stay somewhere else next time.
The location was perfect for dropping my son off at UVA. It was close to campus and also central to the shops we needed to pick up supplies. The room was clean, comfortable and modern, even had a mini fridge. They had some sort of 'air freshener' or scent they were blasting in the entry doors and lobby. It was a very strong smell and while it wasn't an unpleasant odor, it was like being stuck in an elevator with someone wearing too much perfume.
Location was great. The rooms were clean. No microwave, but refrigerator in room. Staff greeted us each time we came in and were very helpful. The staff at front desk were friendly and helpful and very nice. I had called front desk from my room to cancel a day early and was told they were booked solid and turning people away and that I could leave early, but would still owe for the room. She was not particularly nice about it. We were told we could cancel 24 hours before when we had purchased online. However, when we did check out, the lady at front desk this time (different lady) was very nice and said there was no problem with us cancelling a day early and that we could in fact get reimbursed.
Room was wonderful, comfortable, modern. Nicely appointed. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was better than the average free breakfast, more choices, good hot choices. Very convenient to good restaurants and shopping (walking distance) and centrally located in the Charlottesville area for easy access to bypass and surrounding areas. Only complaint was the cost of snacks at the front desk. More than $2 for a soda, and $2.50 for a tiny cupcake. I strongly suggest making sure you stop somewhere and bring in your own snacks. No vending available in halls, only ice.
Friendly and helpful staff, excellent continental breakfast, clean facilities, great location
Clean. Quiet despite number of groups staying. Great location for us.
Price was great for last minute needs. The breakfast was a very nice surprise, hot and good selections. The staff was out of this world. The beds could use a pillow top for a tad more comfort
Renovations were clean. Location was great! Staff was helpful.
Great location. Older hotel but nice accommodations. Continental breakfast is available but went next door to the diner. Would stay here again.
An older facility just one step up from a budget motel but best location near uva
Smooth check in/out process; friendly staff Air conditioner was stuck on 74 - way too warm. Room was a little cramped
I stayed at UVA for nearly a month on-campus for a teaching seminar. For my last night in town, we stayed here, and it was excellent. Staff members were accommodating and polite. They helped us check in early. They even gave our little dog some water and treats. Even though the price was higher than normal that weekend, it was still a great value. You can't beat the proximity to UVA and the Corner. Breakfast was complimentary and great! It's an older building, but the renovations are nice! The bathrooms are tiny, but it's to be expected at an older place. Nothing too bad to say about this place, especially on a weekend when the prices are lower. Definitely good for a short stay, too.
A converted motel. Good location especially for UVA athletic events. A decent room at reasonable price. Mediocre facilities and breakfast. Old fashioned bathroom. Only one person at front desk even in the morning.
Rooms must have their curtains drawn at all times to maintain privacy - that makes the room very dark & dull. Choice of cable TV channels could have been better.
Great for the location and proximity to the campus. Not elegant, but good for families with kids. A bit dingy. Beds run on the small side.
fine for a cheap m/hotel stay. excellent on grounds/uva location. no complaints. just a simple cheap m/hotel.
Construction going on. No free breakfast? Even motel 6 is giving free breakfast.
Great beds and bedding. Beautiful bathroom. Not enough hot water.
Under construction. Fire drills going off while trying to make business calls. Could not pull up to front door. No one to help with bags.
Traveling for business and it was great. Had a late check in by calling ahead, everything was great, and check out was easy as well.
Location was good and bed was very comfortable It had a redone room but carpet was old and was dirty. New shower was cracked and door didn't.t work correctly letting water go onto floor. Chair in room was worn and ripped and the second night the heater did not work.
Staff was not friendly or helpful. Room was not clean by housekeeping even though we were there for two nights.
Right off the bat, every staff member was extremely friendly and helpful. The room we had was extremely clean and the bed was comfortable. The sheets were soft and so fresh you could smell it. Breakfast every morning was great and tasty. We took advantage of the free shuttle service to downtown for dinner. We can't say enough about how great our experience was. Thank you
Front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful to us as my son and I visited UVA for Days on the Lawn. Our room was clean and seemed recently renovated. The space was well designed. My favorite thing may have been the eggs at breakfast: scrambled with ham and cheese! Yum! All in all an excellent experience. I will definitely come again.
I enjoyed my stay here, the staff were friendly and welcoming.
The staff was so warm and helpful. Kudos to William at the front desk! The room was clean and well appointed. Completely met our expectations.
Good value overall, clean, friendly.
Breakfast was great and room was nicer than expected for the cost. Noisy people in the halls sounded like they were in our room. Not very soundproof doors
We loved having the Jacuzzi in our room! Also the staff was VERY helpful and friendly. I like the variety of breakfast options except for the powdered eggs. We liked how close it was to the places we visited. We plan to come back! There was an odor that seemed to be coming from the water or the commode and the stopper for the sink was unable to be used. It wasn't properly attached so if you wanted to fill the sink you had to push it down and then try to pry it loose with your fingers for it to drain. Seemed to be an issue with how it was installed or they chose the wrong size faucet for the space.
No elevator. Everything was worn and dirty. Needed paint and a good scrubbing. Also, the staff member behind the counter claimed she could't match the price I found on the internet which was a real pain.
Overall it was a nice stay. The restaurant was very good as well. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars was the noise level. Asked for a quiet room, got placed next to a staff closet. This door was repeatedly slammed from early to mid morning. Sleeping in was one of the goals of the getaway so that wasn't awesome. Overall great hotel though, nice facility, plenty to do on the grounds. Would go back, but would ask for a different room.
Paths for walking. Spa amenities very nice. Room service breakfast was not hot. It is a long way from their kitchen (have to go outside) to many of the rooms but they should have some kind of hot box to account for that.
Spacious, tasteful room with a private patio overlooking the lake. Beautiful grounds, quiet, peaceful, yet only 5 minutes to downtown Charlottesville.
Room amenities and bedding comfortable We paid for a room with a view and balcony and got neither.
restaurant very good-- gluten friendly ---staff attentive ---but can be in a rush at dinner time view from the room --- terrible looking over roof with equipment
We loved our stay. Friendly staff, comfortable room, bed, and porch. Outstanding sorts facilities, close to town and Blue Ridge mointains, affordable breakfast, breath taking surroundings. ,
The overall vibe of the hotel is very calm and peaceful. We really liked being able to walk to the restaurant on site and spa site from our room. We stayed in a lake view room with a generous patio, just wished it was warmer for us to spend more time out there! The room was clean and very spacious. The staff at check in/out were very hospitable as well as our servers, Daisy and Nancy, at the Old Mill Room. Honestly, our stay was excellent. My only gripe would be beyond the control of the hotel.. Some of the others guests were a bit uppity. It made me uncomfortable to watch them talk down to the staff.
The location was close to where I needed to be. The rooms were dirty. The first room 423 wasn't cleaned properly. There was hair in the bed and in the shower curtain. Maintenance had to be called to fix a drain stoppage. we moved to another room that also had hair in the bed and mold in the shower grout. We assumed any other room wouldn't be better so we didn't move for the third time. Horrible
Helpful staff, clean, Food on the dull side
Location Hotel is old and runned down EVEN WITH the renovations. MOST of the tv channels are partially scrambled and unable to be viewed. I had to change rooms twice until I was able to find one with a working AC unit (the unit would shut off after running for about 3-4 mins and wouldn't come back on). The lady at the bar obviously has been there way long and I observed her complaining about her boss. There were ants all over the bar and the philly cheese steak was bad. There are many more similar priced hotels in C'ville than this one. I would recommend you check them out first.
Ideal location, staff were very friendly and accomodating, room was well furnished, bed was VERY comfortable Slight smell of cleaner noticeable in the room
Great staff that went above and beyond to help us resolve an issue with a dress that was shipped there prior to our arrival. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Right on campus and gorgeous grounds
The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean and pleasant. I liked the small, quiet feel to the place. I found it convenient to grab some food at the cafe. The front desk people were nice and helpful. I enjoyed the snacks in the lobby. I am glad to know that health club facilities are available. Parking was initially confusing and somewhat distant. I ran to Grounds and had to run under a narrow railroad bridge, so that made the location a bit less desirable for me.
super friendly and professional
Great location. Friendly staff. Historic feel. Bed uncomfortable. Lack of insulation under door - could hear normal hallway conversations distinctly. Blinds did not block light from outside walkway.
Charming location right on the campus of the UVA Business school. Beautiful grounds and nicely-run hotel. You won't find a pool or other amenities, if that's important to you. Also not walking distance to the outdoor mall area.
Location on campus; proximity to inner city Charlottesville A wall air conditioning unit that made the noise of a B-747 at takeoff thrust.
Pleasant staff. Clean room.
The room was clean and well kept. The room temperature was set on 65° in the middle of winter, and there was no way to change it. I froze all night.
Very clean. New rooms. Paid one hundred sixty seven dollars for one night with king bed. Free parking. Breakfast not included. Just a few miles from UVA campus. Rooms are a bit noisy. Recommended, would stay here again.
That you didn't have coffee in the lobby as a courtesy for your customers. I had to stay another night in Charlottesville due to weather and moved to another hotel. Their rates were better, had coffee, chocolate chip cookies, lemonade, cheese and crackers as a courtesy, the staff were much more engaging, and they even picked me up at the drs office and took me to the hotel. The accommodations were just as nice.
Comfortable beds, clean bathrooms Late night guests made a bit of noise coming/going from rooms and chatting in the hallways
I loved the hotel overall. The staff that greeted us were very professional and friendly. The room looked like it had been recently updated and had some nice modern amenities. The cafe located in the hotel was alright as far as the food. Nothing great and nothing bad. We didh have a hard time finding our room because there was what they called a terrance level which was labeled 0 an not 1 like most hotels. But after the first night we got the hang of it.
Staff was very nice. Rooms were clean. Restitant was nice good food
The staff was friendly and very accommodating. I will definitely stay there again, soon. It's right next to Starbuck's and large selection of eateries. Nada
The hotel and room were spotless. Room was quite large, extremely comfortable bed and bedding, nicely laid out, beautiful view of pond with white swans and ducks.. I requested a quiet location and they happily accommodated me. I'm an insomniac, and 10 minutes of continual noise means being awake for several hours. It was extremely quiet, so this was wonderful. The lighting in the very clean bathroom was also better than average for putting on makeup, & lots of counterspace. . Staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall it was better than I anticipated. Definitely returning. WiFi in room very slow & cut out, I gave up using my device. No complimentary continental breakfast, coffee and tea only. We don't eat a full breakfast, which was the only option, and it's not worth paying $11 per person for a muffin and banana. Fortunately, there is a Starbucks 5 minutes away at the top of the hill.
Free breakfast included I will try to summarize this as best as possible. Let's just say that they royally screwed up our reservation and the funny part is the room they messed up was for someone on the Board of the College of UVA which is right next to the school. Then not only could they not explain how it was fouled up, but even with the confirmation number they could not figure out if it was someone at central booking or the local hotel. On top of that I found out that they have people stay there that are visiting the medical school and often stay past their reservations. They will not be kicked out, so if they don't have a room for you that's just your tough luck. Basically you cannot trust that a reservation made at this hotel will be honored so tread lightly.
Was woken up very early, lots of banging doors, not sure if it was housekeeping staff or early travelers.
Location Old outdated dirty bad lights a/c
I sprung for a nicer hotel on this trip because I had some extra money and I was visiting my mom in the hospital so I was under extra stress. I wish I had of saved my money now. I know this might seem unfair but it's just because of breakfast. Why should I pay substantially more and get less out of it? Plus the prices at the breakfast bar were really over inflated; I'm a restaurant manager so I know food cost. It all felt designed to milk every penny out of me for the duration of my visit. Even the wi-fi had a faster version that cost extra. I won't stay there again. I don't like it when I over pay for something that's just ok and then don't get as much out of it as I would at cheaper places.
Friendly helpful staff. Studio room was very spacious and well equipped with full size fridge, dishes, pots, cups, glasses, silverware. Very quiet room. The complimentary breakfast buffet was the best we ever had in a hotel. The air-conditioning was a bit noisy.
Easy to park. Walk to restaurants. AC was good and not too noisy. Clean. Bathroom was too small.
This was a nice hotel convenient to downtown and UVA. They had an excellent, free breakfast buffet.
Room is spacious and well equiped. The exercise room is not very big, but I liked the equipment they had.
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
got bed bugs
Location was excellent. The Staff and the facilities could not have been better.
Always a great stay. The ladies who put out breakfast, Susan, Maria, Bernadette welcome new or returning guests with charm and warmth, starting each of our days with a smile. People at front desk also very nice.Marisa went several extra miles for us.
location the room is pretty big. but very noise. also, the toilet paper was near running out at very beginning.
The room layout was perfect. Separate sleeping and lounging area. The bed was very comfortable. I didn't want to get out of bed!
I GOT BED BUGS!!!!!!
Very loud with train! And there was no real warning about that. Otherwise, a very nice stay.
Location was perfect;within walking distance to pedestrian mall, free trolley. Staff friendly. As early risers, it'd be nice to have coffee brewed, available prior to 7:30 breakfast. The staff did offer to put pot, coffee out for me to make, but I was not comfortable entering their work area.
