A modern hotel close to everything. Well maintained and a friendly staff
Good breakfast It would appear we paid above the normal rate due to a Rugby International, which we were not there for
The location of the hotel is very good and in the city centre, Near the shops and studuim. Hotel was very expensive and room was not an executive room as we paid for. Its a lot of money for a small double room with a view of a brick-wall and air-coniditioning pipework, No Bathand tiolet was rubbish aswell
Very nice hotel, great location, great service Tv awkward to work!
Excellent location for shopping and very good breakfast On Friday there was a party and it was a bit noisy
Good location at fairly competitive rates. Staff were efficient helpful and pleasant.Comfortable and warm room. the price of bar drinks especially the higher quality ones was excessive.
very comfy beds nice size room. shelving was very dusty above the tea and coffee , dust on window sill and tops of draws . noise pollution from club till past 3am we were at the back of the hotel
Everything. It is a beautifully refurbished hotel offering facilities of a very high standard. It is conveniently situated in Cardiff city centre with staff who are extremely professional and most helpful.
Very good service-excellent cuisine-well equipped room. Room rather crowded -not much space to move.
Amazing hotel, lovely staff, free upgrade to business class on top floor with amazing view, cosy bed, great food- fantastic stay
Very good but slightly expensive.
Room fab, breakfast / eating area fab, hotel generally nicely laid out and very modern. Queuing at reception to check in. Hotel should have a few more desks / staff ready for when lots of people arrive at once to check in. Probably waited 10 to 15 minutes. The price of the room!!! Very high and had no choice but to pay as attending u2 concert at Millennium Stadium. I think that the hotel would know they would be full and could have perhaps not charged the premium rate to ensure we all returned again. Now we will book up early to avoid having to spend so much money for just one night.
The hotel was very well situated and very clean and comfortable The service in the bar and the resturant was very poor and very slow due to a severe shortage of staff, we also found the bar very expensive and were being charged different prices every time for the same drinks.
Good location nice breakfast bathroom and good size room room looked a bit tired and and not enough tea and coffee Parking spaces very small
The room was lovely, plenty of room and the breakfast was excellent.
car parking facility was too small. On the first night the hotel carpark was full and we drove for 1 and a half hours to find another overnight one. We had to get a taxi back to the hotel.Simply ridicuolous! We are frequent travellers and have stayed in numerous hotels around the world and in all that time I have never stayed 4 * and not had some kind of biscuits with the tea &coffee facilities which only had a enough milk for 1 cup each in the morning. Long queue of people as we checked in with only 1 desk open even though there was staff present.See trip advisor for comments.
Rooms were lovely with great views over the city.
Location, comfort A swimming pool would have been a real benefit
Close to city centre Lack of parking, all nearby car parks full, including Joihn Lewis. Overheard other guests bitterly complaining about this situation. The hotel is not cheap to stay at, one would asume that an there would be an arrangement in place.
Room had great view, really clean and well kept. Lack of beverages available in room.
The location was good for our needs.
Enjoyed the fact that it was within walking distance to some interesting places (castle, museum, Sophia Gardens) and Queen St shopping centre. Didn't like the noise of the streets bars but i was in a room on the wrong side of the hotel, a busy main rd was quite noisy but that wasn't a reason to complain.... Overall i thoroughly enjoyed the stay as did my friends
Comfortable room The main bar/lounge was closed, only the small bar with limited seating in the reception was open. Ranked against other similar hotel chains breakfast was not as good.
Well managed hotel and, for my part, in a good location for access to the Millennium Stadium. Facilities within the hotel were excellent. The availability for parking was a bonus as this wasn't available with other hotels in the same area.
Staff friendly manner Only one roast on a Sunday lunch!!!
We found the staff to be courteous, efficient, very helpful and friendly. The hotel is ideally placed, within easy walking distance shopping centers, attractions & the Millenium stadium. Would recommend to others as a base to explore Cardiff from. There were only 2 things that I didn't like about the stay, firstly the price of a drink in the bar was excessive at £7.45 for a G&T. Secondly the breakfast was excellent apart from my husband complaining that his baked beans were "like bullets, they were that hard", but that was the only criticism.
The leasure facilities were very good. and the location was excellent. The menu for the resturant was not very good and expensive when compared to the room service menu.
The friendly staff and clean room all in a very central location.
Room service meal was good Too many extras, especially breakfast.
Great quality and brilliant friendliness. Gave us late checkout no problem, which was a big help. Awesome massage Showers and some other things int he gym were not same quality as the hotel. Got a Double room instead of twin as booked.
relaxing in the bar during the evenings. the staff were warm and welcoming and it had a great atmosphere there was a fire drill just after we checked in and we were left standing outside in the cold for over half an hour, leaving our coffees and lunch in the lobby bar. :-(
Great location next to Cardiff Castle. Room was very clean and comfortable. Room was very noisy, plumbing noises all through the night.
lounge trashed by wedding party, bad language used by wedding party, behaviour of wedding party. left to run riot.
Rooms were smallish but immaculate and the trains were not intrusive for us., and the views good -- we could see the Bay! Location excellent for shopping, rugby at the Millenium Stadium and cultural events at the Millenium Hall and loads of cafes and restaurants within easy walk. Breakfast buffet good value and several Hen parties didnt cause any problems /noise. A great weekend, and Wales won!!!!
The building was a comercial building refurbished. The rooms are very small.Dont have privte parking. The access to the hotel is very difficult by car.Dont have a parking in front of the reception to leave the luggages.
The size of the room was amazingly big and the beds were very comfortable, I would highly recommend staying on the twelve floor as the views are amazing The fire alarm sounded early Sunday morning, not a good wake up!!
Closeness to city centre Only able to check in 2 minutes before stated time
Perfect location for city centre.
The large clean bedrooms and friendly staff. The snack food also seemed good value. Car Park was a bit tight
It is a very comfortable hotel, located conveniently downtown Cardiff. A room was large and comfortable, nice bed. Hotel has good restaurant; breakfast which was included was delicious. We once also had dinner at the hotel , it also was very good. Staff was polite and helpful.
Good location, nicely laid out - spacious bar and restaurant. We were given a disabled room, with a seat in the very small shower that wouldn't fold. Britains Got Talent auditions were being held there in the morning, the hotel should have made me aware of that - I booked six months in advance. Very expensive considering quality and facilities. Poor car parking facilities.
The room was very good apart from the huge crack running through the outer glazing of the picture window! Fantastic views across the city. Very busy because of the Autumn rugby international Wales v New Zealand. Long delay during check out with only two staff on duty one of whom had to answer the phone and take a booking! She then proceeded to chat to a member of staff going off duty. A small niggle but becoming more prevalent among some hotel gropus is that on weekends they don't supply mushrooms with the breakfast menu. Still charge the same price though - £15.95! A con.
The reception staff were rude, discourteous and looked like we were intruding by staying there and asking them to rectify an issue with the room (i.e no hot water and no water pressure in the room). After chasing this issue up, we were finally moved to another (lower standard room) at 1.30am in the morning, which clearly didn't add to a relaxing stay at the hotel!!!
large bedroom air conditioning did not work and no way of opening windows therefore extremely hot! 2 false fire alarms during the night meant we got little sleep
nothing in particular, it was ok the showers in pool changing room & the fact there were no cubicles to change in
It was booked by mistake due to not realising that there was more than one Radisson Hotel in Cardiff. We were going to the CIA and booked hotel because we believed it was next door! However, used taxis back and forth. Hotel staff very helpful with booking taxi. Rooms modern and perfectly good for a one night stay. We had no complaints regarding actual hotel other than it was in the wrong place!!!! (My fault entirely!) Bar was closed on return to hotel. (midnight) Several staff in reception and it would have been a nice gesture if they had offered to open the bar for us to have one drink. Also, cleaning staff were very noisy in the morning considering the rooms did not have to be vacated until 12.00pm.
Although the heating was not working in our room the staff were quick at providing a s-pare radiator I found thr room and corridor very cold. The heating did not work to start off.
although the staff were very helpful when we asked for things, the extra customer service care was just not there. We had expected that little bit extra, to show that the customer in a hotel is what the staff's priority should be.
The staff were friendly and the beds comfortable. The rooms were of a decent size. We booked 2 rooms and my parents room had no hot water at all. However, they did get back some money for this inconvenience. There was a lot of noise late at night from other guests on our floor. The hotel is very tired looking and needs refurbishment. The breakfast was uninviting, not very well laid out and a poor choice compared to other hotels I have stayed at. The service at the table was poor.
Polite helpful reception staff
close to city center
Rooms were very spacious and tidy, excellent value for money, short 5-10min drive from the city centre, extremely helpful and friendly staff
The hotel room and bar area were pleasant and airy. Hotel was busy given the international event in town but the staff still found time to answer my questions. Room heating was awful. From one extreme of freezing to unbearably hot due to the type of heating system being unable to find middle ground.
pool facilities for the children food was not very good Breakfast should not be could hours before on mass well that was` the impression
The staff were always willing to help.Very professional.
Good friendly service
Air conditioning vent (ceiling) was leaking water on to the floor. This was a highly dangerous situation. A slipon this could have proved very serious. It did mean having to turn it off and open the windows, which of course led to a great deal of noise from outside.
I like this hotel everything was perfect, location, staff, room
I liked the room it was comfy although it took a while to work out how to work the heating so woke up very cold the first morning. The heating confused me and I couldn't find instructions
The location was perfect, in the heart of the city, easy access to all places of interest, and only a few minutes walk from the train/bus station.
Despite the contemporary design the rooms are very comfortable. I had one of the best nights sleep I've had in a hotel room for a long time, which was a pleasant surprise considering I spend a couple of nights a week in hotels on business. The hotel seems to be in the middle of refurburbishment at the moment (November 2010) so access to the hotel is confusing and doesn't initially inspire confidence in the forthcoming stay.
Nice to pampered and having a short break Going home
the location, the breakfast and the chap showing guests in for breakfast I didn't like the room it was very dark with the smallest window I have ever seen (which wouldn't open) also didnt like how long it took for reception to deal with a problem that we had with our bathroom after 1/2 an hr of waiting I had to go down to reception myself
Very average hotel and certainly not value for money Located bewtween two busy pubs, no cooked breakfast served after 09.30hrs, rooms small
Nothing Poor customer service overall
The staff were so friendly and helpful and the rooms were spacious and very clean.
It was a very short visit, butthe room was lovely and the late check-out time was ideal All good
location, cleanliness, value for money. queue for breakfast and then poor selection due to inability to keep up with demand.
The Hotel was clean and welcoming breakfast excellent and healthy, the staff were all very polite, helpful and friendly. Have stayed before and would recommended it no
close to the stadium
The location, breakfast facility, room facilities, good staff with exception of reception staff. The WiFi did not work in the room. The hotel declined to issue invoice as it was booked by Get a room agency and they issue electronic invoices in US dollars not suitable to claim from the company you work for in the UK. They should arrange the invoices in pound sterlings for UK hotels.
helpfulness of the staff
Proximity to cia The rooms were cold during this cold weather. could do with an extra blanket on the bed
all the above n/a
room size was good, staff were very friendly
A very very clean and bright warm and comfort at the top of the list. Could have a bigger public areas.
Location was perfect as we were going to the Milenium Stadium. Easy to find and ideal having parking on site. Close to all the shops and Castle.
Staff was very friendly helpful Located at the back of the Hotel was the football stadium which was quite noisey in the early morning.
city centre location easy to find
The front desk staff was responsive. The location of the hotel is a plus. The flush wasn't working properly; one has to flush 2-3 times before it worked. There was music from bar downstairs, which I could hear till ~12:00. This affected my sleep on the first night. To be fair, I'dn't complained to staff about these two, but I think, they couldn't have done much about the music-from-the-bar-part. Otherwise, the room was quiet, cosy, and comfortable, although small (have stayed in Cardiff at other hotel with bigger rooms for less price). The per night room price was expensive (but could have been because of the Rugby game on Saturday), that's why poor value for money.
The Location, only a minute away from the city centre & right by the Castle & Bute Park. Also every easy to get to.
It was central and close to all the places we wanted to visit and was easily found from the motorway. No biscuits on the tea and coffee tray.
I like the service, breakfast, free drink (as priority club member), promotions spilled out rather than hidden, fleibility to cancel and rebook my room with pleasure (It was a big problem for Novotail London by Accor group & they charged me 130 pounds for nothing) These people are good and I will go again. They gave us the park view (Best view). Small room (hotel was fully booked so no chance to upgrade) The bed was just enough for one person as booked. I don't mind small rooms when service level and respect are high.
The breakfast was very good and the staff extremely friendly.
The only thing I liked about the hotel was the locataion The fact that we were woken on Sunday morning by workers erecting scaffolding on the outside of the hotel. The noise from the bar next door to the hotel, even though we were on the second floor we could still here it at midnight.
Comfortable and all of the rooms we booked were near each other. Cost of breakfast is high considering the room prices are also high due to the rugby game.
Location and size of bedrooms. Room in front of hotel very noisy with traffic.
All v new looking smart and clean. Good parking. Food a breakfast was v good. Good facilities in room. Breakfast was v busy when we went down and staff were rather flustered! WiFi kept disconnecting.
convenience for cardiff bay, parking facilities included in room rate suite was extravagantly large - could have been better utilised as a single and a double room
No room service available
The room and view was excellent I think it would have been nice for breakfast to be included in the price
freindly staff, helpful, the halls and corridors were clean and luvlly and warm. the temperature was -6 at night and 0 day time, so the room was freezin, the heating system does not work well, did ask reception, but the temp 28 did not seem to blow out hot air. we had to put the bath towels on top of the duvet and slept with extra clothes on. i think with better heating yr hotel would be very good. cannot recomend this hotel at moment until yr heating system is improved upon.
Comfortable and helpful staff
Nice light rooms with good facilities.
Within walking distance of the Bay and the City. Staff pleasant and hotel was clean and relaxing. Breakfast was very nice and the room was spacious and provided everything you needed for an overnight stay.
the staff were very helpful and the food in the restaurant was lovley we found the room cold.the price of breakfast was very expensive for people who just wanted some toast and tea
We had a lovely relaxing break away hotel staff were very helpful & friendly ideal location for the bay & city centre comfortable beds & free parking also nice buffet breakfast N/a
It was only recently re-opened so everything was new as it had all been done out. Everything was very good quality and beautifully done. They were very helpful and even booked us a taxi. The breakfast was excellent too. Would recommend it and would stay there again. Nothing
very modern and clean room and stunning bathroom. Very helpful landlady who recommended somewhere to eat in the evening.
Our stay at the Dexby was lovely & I would definitely look to stay there again next time I visit Cardiff. The rooms had obviously been recently refurbished and everyone was very welcoming. All in all, our stay was lovely and as it was only around 15 mins walk from Cardiff City Centre, everywhere was easily accessible.
Very welcoming and obliging. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
very nice people and quiet grace fitment, great location and also great breakfast..love that^^^^^
location and friendly staff
It was all excellent, from the reception staff to the room to the restaurant staff and food.
it felt like a home from home. Cannot praise enough all staff, from room valets ,waiters/waitress to floor and front of house staff!
friendly helpful staff
the excelent service provided by staff the bedroom was cold.
This is a good hotel with good facilities and excellent staff.
The room was superb and situated on a high floor as requested with a view over the gardens. Very welcoming staff and we had a very good dinner in the restaurant. Lovely spacious room and lots of interesting contemporary features. Very central for Cardiff shops etc. The breakfast was not very good as it was the buffet style with little choice. It would be a great advantage if breakfast could be cooked to order.
High standards but very laid back and relaxing
Very friendly staff. Exceeded our expectations. Good central location. Rooms were of very high standard. Car parking very expensive.
Good staff customer care, a great swimming pool and the restaurant menu was diverse and well priced. No
Our request for rooms to be on a particular floor and situated together as close as possible was granted. Executive rooms were large, airy and very clean and good value for money. The coffee machine is not great - much better to have a cafetiere and sachets of ground coffee.
It was close to shopping center.Leisure facilities were excellent and the staff were very helpful at all times, breakfast very good. The tea and coffee served at the bar was not hot enough, only a small criticism.
the staff was very nice and always helpful, even if we only stayed two nights. It was great to enjoy the leisure center. the breakfast was amazing and we liked the 24h opened bar.
Leisure facilities - Swimming pool + Sauna Having stayed twice at the hotel and tried the Bar menu on both occasions I was dissapointed with the quality of the food.
Hotel is ideally placed for Cardiff centre. Good range of facilities especially as we had children with us.
great location for visiting the city being only a five minutes walk from the centre, helpful and friendly staff
Very good room price. The fact that our daughter (aged 15) could stay in the same room at no extra charge. Free use of the health club facilities. Beautiful modern room.
Shop The rooms were poor value for money little better than travel lodge standard i do not expect to here the person in the room next door snoring
The staff was courteous and the rooms were very clean. The access to the spa facilities was easy. Breakfast was a good value and the food was delicious. Parking was limited and I had to pay to park, even after booking a full weekend in the hotel.
Able to relax after a long journey made to feel very welcome at all times from the staff.
The bed was extremely comfortable, and the food in the restaurant was excellent, the cheese board was outstanding. Nothing
I liked our view of the bay and the hotel was lovely. It's the kind of hotel that takes itself too seriously. It was billed as a five star resort, but the only difference I could see between it and any other hotel in the states was the bidet in the bathroom.
Free champagne bought to us, as it was our wedding night. Prices of food meant that we waited until home to eat breakfast.
I can't fault this hotel in any way, i will definitely stay there again when i'm in Cardiff.
All staff were very efficient and friendly. Our room was excellent. Arrival and departure were achieved most efficiently. No
Everything! Wine at £8 a glass was expensive.
The cooked breakfast was not very special. Rather sparce, bacon hard.
The Spa was a lovely treat with excellent resources. The reception staff were very poorly trained. The person who dealt with my group on arrival was very abrupt and quite rude.
some confsion ober resevation as booked via booking.com, but staff were pleasant, confident and very efficient went out for breakfast as £15 seemed expensive.
Friendly and helpful staff
Excellent location, excellent service, excellent hotel
prompt polite service, nicely decorated room Lights in the bar were too low and made you want to sleep!
Great staff, location and the room has everything we wanted. Good leisure facilities. Had a lovely evening drink on the decking area in the sun. Drinks in the bar were very expensive but to be expected from a hotel. We didn't have breakfast included but crossed the road and had a great breakfast at Bills.
very friendly and help full staff, great location will stay there again.
Staff, ambience, quality and value. Ideally located for city-centre attractions Didn't find any, except a room-mate who snored heavily!
Helpful and pleasant staff, good parking facilities, great outdoor area for al fresco dining and a Pims or three! No mini bar - and the mini bar/fridge was actually switched off so we couldn't even chill what room service provided.
Well appointed room with all of the amenities we needed. None noted.
Location, cleanliness and very helpful staff. None.
Excellent check in allowed us to have linked for the family. Good breakfast but a bit pricey for a familyAcces Finding the hotel entrance by car is rather complicated
The location, facilities, luxurious bed and very accomodating & helpful staff Carpets seen better days & cars racing in shop car parks opposite made it impossible to get to sleep until the early hours
Stayed here many times and always found that the restaurant is excellent. When I tried to book direct they quoted a very high price in comparison, even after Ive stayed there many times before.
Comfortable room. Friendly staff. Good food. Excellent facilities. Lovely view over the lake. Problems with taxis - there didn't seem to be enough co-ordination between the reception desk & the drivers re. reference numbers.
Convenient for millennium stadium
The rooms are comfortable and nicely furnished, the pool and fitness centre is great if you want to work out or relax. The food is excellent quality, however the bar/room service menu could be enhanced with a few more options. Overall excellent value for money. The Internet is not available in all rooms. If the hotel sort this out it's the ideal location.
Value for money, excellent location Two single beds fixed together to give the illusion of one huge bed - it was so uncomfortable, especially in the middle
The restaurant staff were very helpful The decfinated coffee in the bar is £2.80 per cup and it was very hard to confirm it was coffee, it was undrinkable
Good location for Cardiff centre as long as you have a car. Good breakfast and pleasent suroundings
Housekeeping was poor for this standard of hotel.
The location was superb. Parking onsite at a reasonable cost. Thought that the rooms were a bit dated. The windows were very 'shaky'a and due to the location there was quite a lot of noise at night.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Location was perfect for shopping in the city and near bus routes around the city to see the sights. Would definately book again. Parking not bookable and limited but staff made every effort to help. Double glazing in the rooms would cut down traffic noise which is unavoidable in a city location.
Central for everything, lovely hotel
Friendly helpful staff. Great location for Rugby stadium, castle and the city centre and other tourist points. Comfortable room with a view of the case One lift was out of order which was a bit inconvenient
Staff were friendly and helpful. The Angel is a great location for visiting Cardiff within walking distance of most things and an inexpensive cab ride from the Bay. The Angel is a happily eccentric building, but becoming a bit shabby at the price. Breakfast was bland in flavour, but efficiently served by friendly waiting staff.
The waiter was extremely helpful, he couldn't do enough for us The prices in the bar and restarant, too over priced
The room charge was low so value for money in that respect The room needed to painted and brightened up as did the bathroom. It had the air of being a bit 'tired'
We ordered room service, from a choice of 4 main courses we were told 3 were not available, we ordered what was available it was practically inedible and expensive.
Central location Air con unit stuated right outside bedroom window to therefore very noisy during the night--also wedding function taking place so was loud music till 1-00am on the sat/sun.
Breakfast being charged at £13.50 a head is an out & out joke, for this reason alone we would never go back, but also to be charged £5 a day car parking as well
staff were wonderful not enough tea and coffee in room. did not know how to use heating in room first night so abit cold.
Room a little small when sofa bed pulled down. Would have preferred adjoining room for the children
Very good location for Red Dragon Centre and Mermaid Quay. Not too bad for town centre. Good car park and helpful to be able to use beyond check out time. Staff very helpful. Difficult to find initially and not easy to find way in and out. The window in our room was fixed slightly open which made the room quite chilly on a far from hot June night!!
Quiet area within 10mins walking of centre. Good selection of restaurants on the quay 10mins walk as well.Room clean and good size.Large shower for a change.Staff very helpfull.
Convenient location for both Cardiff City & Cardiff Bay.
Good breakfast, very quiet for a Sat night, comfortable, clean, pleasing decor, good taxi booking by reception Smallest/cheapest wine at bar £5, high wifi costs, car parking charge when car park not secure and car registrations not taken by reception i.e. seems that anyone could park there for free. Being billed upon booking when website clearly stated charges on departure.
The location was great! The only problem was me & my husband had a twin room which was not ideal!! also no Bath, and the breakfast was not a great selection!
Staff were always present and very helpful Room was cold as heating only activated by door card. However when raised with reception we were given 'dummy' cards
Having to pay extra for the carpark
Excellent location at a very competetive price. Satff were very professional and helpful. can't fault it. Nothing
