for us it was very central to everywhere we went.
Good location, close to shops and esplanade area. The room was nicely refurbished, but the bathroom was still old (but clean and tidy). The pool area looked good but it was raining so we didn't get to use it. Free wifi in the lobby and free internet in the room (with a cable from reception) but in-room was not working at th time so we went to the lobby. Slight mixup with payment (i thought booking.com was taking payment, but apparently they didn't and the hotel wanted the payment). Also, we arrived early and they kindly looked after our bags and said they would call our mobile when the room was ready, but they didn't call us.
I loved the bed, very comfortable. I also liked the private balcony over the pool lagoon. The Internet was very slow and the scrollers on the mouse didn't work.
Appearance and layout of the hotel reception areas. Room well designed and comftable Layout of the buffet area of resturant could be better designed, confusing and cramped
very nice room and hotel, in a quiet place but very close of town center. Very good hotel to spend 1 or 2 days in cairns to prepare the way to the north queensland
The only good words i can say about this hotel is that it was close to the Reef Terminal where we caught our ferry out to the reef the following morning. On arrival i asked if they still did cheap movie tickets for locals (people who live in Cairns) and they said yes so i paid $20 cash for 2 tickets so i could take my daughter, visiting from interstate, to the movies that afternoon, we didnt go but on checking out this hotel said i never paid and wanted another $20 for them which i refused to pay, in the end i gave them the movie tickets back. I could tell that they didnt believe that i had already paid, they asked me for a receipt for the tickets but i was never given one. So seeing as i live in Cairns and i have a lot of interstate visitors the Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort, will never see me back there, any of my local friends there and definately none of my interstate visitors staying ther
Relaxing, service was good, friendly and happy staff Breakfast. There was not a lot of service or care, it appeared that no one was in charge and everything was self service. No cups, spoons or side plates.
It was just ok. It was kind of expensive for money value. Holiday Inn located next block was cheaper and nicer.
Central location, a walk to everywhere, great pool for kids , free internet really cool. Good breakfasts. Room was musty on arrival, but we were offered to change.
Breakfast good and service also good, friendly staff Bathroom filthy, and ants everywhere. After mentioning it to the cleaning staff and at the reception desk nothing changed, the bathroom wasnt taken care of at all.
We had to make arrangements for a late arrival after closure of the reception. Everything worked out perfectly, couldn't have been better!
Clean and quiet. Not close to downtown but a quick bus ride or rent a car makes up for the location.
The staff was very helpful. Big cockroaches in the room. Maybe because Cairns has a tropical weather, but the insects were really disgusting.
all good, very friendly staff. na
very quiet area if thats what you are looking for in the middle of nowhere. car is essential. no restaurants or bars nearby. arrived late eve could not get anything to eat
Receptionist extremely helpful. Location only suitable if you have a car. Breakfast excellent and included in price unlike most hotels in Australia Difficult to find way to laundry room at night as signage confusing. Reception not open on departure.
Location good Room good Parking good Breakfast & service great No restaurant poor Roon service Could be improved
First. The location of this Hotel sucks. The ads say it is 7 mins away from the city center. not true! Unless you have your own car-do not stay here. Cabs are expensive $20 one way to city. Takes 15-20 mins to reach. It is far away from the airport as well. second. They charged the tariff at a very high exchange rate almost over 0.90 (aud to usd) whereas all other hotels in Australia charged us at the rate of 0.86. Therefore, even though this hotel was "cheap" it ended up not being so. third. The reception is not 24 hrs. On Sundays it closes at 2pm so you can't even check-in. There is a bell to call someone after hours but no one really ever comes. Once we got locked out of our room at night and rang the bell. Security showed up after 2 hrs Fourth There is no lift/elevator. We had to carry heavy luggage up 2 flights of stairs and even though reception said they would send help they didn't-at the time of check in and check out. fifth. Filled with insects mosquitoes and what not. Cheap rates mean cheap stuff but this was ridiculous. fifth: Even after complaining no one seemed to accept their mistake about anything. sixth: There was no phone in the room and no internet. Furniture was old and sheets were dirty. Poor hygiene.SEVENTH: Breakfast was supposed to be included but we had to shell out $5.50 extra to upgrade to full from continental-which was only tea and toast. What a total rip off! I do not recommend this place. There are plenty of much nicer hotels near the city center.
Good service and reasonable rates.
Friendly staff with comfortable rooms. Amenities were clean and tidy. Restaurant around the pool a bonus. Continental breakfast included in the room price a good bonus.
