The hotel is very nicely situated. The room (normal double) was pleasantly furnished (colours, materials) and spacious. Especially bathroom was both rational and impressive. The overall impression and experience was very pleasant. At the same time, the room begins to show minor marks of ageing; small stains here and there, desk somewhat battered. Tv set small/old fashioned and did not work fully all the time. The personnel is professional and helpful - yet more discreet than friendly. The fitness center was modestly equipped and small; hooks or lockers for bathrobe/towel would also be useful.
Given a free upgrade with great views. Fantastic location too.
central location, good quality no tea/cofee making facilities in the room and no bath robes
loction, comfort, view, value for money Queen size rather than king siza mattress in superior room
I have been planning to stay in Budapest for over a year now. It was really important to me that the hotel has an excellent location and I preferred the spa experience over the view of the Danube. However... Only my first day was I able to use the sauna. I was the one who had to discover that it is broken and over heating. I had a burn mark from the previous day and the next morning I discovered that the thermo meter is not working any more it was extremely hot in there and since they could not fix the problem they had to shut it down for the rest of my stay... I was disappointed since that was the reason I booked Kempinski...
Staff very helpful. good sized room and value for money on the special deal we had Breakfast expensive
This hotel was in the most perfect location! The Xmas market was right behind the hotel, the river and Chain bridge were about 2-3 blocks away, and the famous shopping street, Vaci uti was 1 block away. The rooms were so comfortable, and they provided slippers and plush bathrobes. The perfumed smell in the lobby and hallways was a bit overwhelming (luckily it did not permeate the rooms or it would have been a problem). They kept playing an Ad for their hotel on the TV which I found sexist and offensive (showing their maid taking a bubble bath and dressing in a lace thong before coming to work at the Kempinski hotel chain (what is that all about?).
Fabulous Hotel. Staff extremely helpful. Rooms spotless. In an excellent location 5 minutes walk from the Opera House, 5 minutes to main shopping area. We got excellent value as we were staying for more than 4 nights. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going for a break to the beautiful city of Budapest. It was very expensive for drinks or to eat in but this did not cause a problem as it is so central and there is a huge choice right outside your door.
lovely helpfull staff,nice live music.
All was excellent!
location, size of room, folks at front desk were very helpful
Room and spa with pools area. Lobby was also nice and warm Location. Also I did not understood the prices in Lotos bar. We had drink that should be about 50-60 Euro and they charged 100. Some hidden cost seems to be.
Use of the pool I was afraid of water when I arrived was swimming before I left, the three different pools made this possible
The staff were tremendous and catered for your every need, the experience of executive club was second to none and well worth the little bit extra you pay
the bed was very comfortable no balcony and not able to open windows any better
very helpful staff. There were no executive rooms left so I was up-graded to the apartment! not close to city centre. You must reach it by car or taxi
The spa pools were very good Very expensive breakfast
The spa facilities and the general running of the place. The air con could not be turned off and this lead to a perminant sore throat/ cold, I complained and was offered another room, but found that room had the same problem, this I realised was a function of the main hotel AC. The cost of items of food and drinks in the room bar was in my opinion excessive for example, a 500ml bottle of water was charged at approx £2.34, the cost for the same bottle outside of the hotel was approx.£0.25p. Whilst accepting that the hotel will add a margin, approx 1000% seems a little high.
all the hotel facilities, staff, rooms were excellent. Its an international hotel therefore the lobbies are always busy with in tours coming and going. We arrived by car and the hotel is placed a long way out, which might make it difficult to find. We soon found our bearings and with free public transport for over 65s and an excellent restaurant round the corner it turned out to be a very good choice
Very helpful staff. Good facilities. The hotel is too far from the city centre, though once mastered the public transport is useful and cheap.
nice executive rooms; nice separate breakfast for executive room customers + lounge; good internet connection; shuttle bus some more active "hellos" and "good mornings" in the breakfast wouldn't do any harm (=some of the staff)
Fantastic location... you can't get any closer to the chain bridge. Great room, friendly staff and very efficient service.
Excellent location and great breakfast. Concierge staff excellent, we needed to get a taxi to the country and she ordered the taxi then came out to talk to the drive to ensure he new where to take us. Check in staff not very welcoming, in fact he was on the phone for some of the process, didn't offer any information about the hotel, breakfast times etc. Only one pair of slippers in the room and two towels for a Twin room, called housekeeping to ask for more items to be brought to the room, an hour later they still hadn't brought them so had to call again. Next day no towels in room as they had run out, left a note in room to say they would be delivered but they never did. Obviously don't cope well if the hotel is full.
Excellent! Nice location, fantastic view from our room.
Breakfast and location
Terrific location, right next to Chain Bridge and less than a 5-minute walk to the edge of the main square. Gorgeous views of Castle Hill as soon as you walk outside. Easy walk to the bridge and funicular starting point. The room had absolutely no view; it just looked out onto other rooms.
I stayed with family and we have very good experience and it was good advantage of possibility to access business center 24/7.
location, view, fresh fruit at breakfast staff attitude, concierge service (great help with train booking) swimming pool, business centre facility smoking in the bar loss of upstairs piano bar since last visit about 2004 too much salt used in cooking e.g we couldn't eat the bacon
The location is great, also the lobby and restaurant, lounge. I ordered room service in the evening and the first thing in the morning someone of the staff tried to enter the room to pick up the dishes, later they came back and knocked, first they tried to open using a key card, they woke me up around 8 am. Up to then it was all good, friendly staff, great location, maybe they need some extra dishes.
Virtually everything was great! Had no complaints.
Location, room The concierge was not professional, not that friendly and tried to send us to the places she is getting higher commission from. It was very unpleasant experience. We had to go to the next door hotels to get the info we needed. I think that 5 stars hotel can do much better in giving its guests an accurate info.
I like best the service ans the breakfast which was excellent. The staff was very helpful and nice. Also, the restaurant of the hotel "Paris-Budapest" was fantastic! I did not like the difference in prices between the hotel's taxy and the local. Hotel's taxy takes more then double local price. Also the fitness room was really poorly organised. There were a few weihgtlifts and one treadmill, which was occupied all the time.
The stay was friendly and willing to help you to find your away around Budapest from transportation, restraurants, and night life. Great place would go back prefect location
Pool room cleaning was not always good. Forget to clean cup or left open windows
its location is great, you can walk behind the hotel and take bus 26 to a metro station.if you like joging or biking, the surroundings are the perfect place to do so bad staff at the tourist information desk and not helpful at all
Pity so many of waiting staff are surly & don't smile. Saves tipping anyway.
Take spa in the moning, before start my day.
Beautiful hotel in fantastic park setting, good value for price, use of thermal spa, breakfast buffet which was included in room price.
Friendly personal Bit old
location and style of the hotel the way to the thermal area was not so well signed
The very helpful and cheerful staff The main dining room was only available to paying guests on one night for dinner. Visitors should be advised of the availability of all facilities during any intended stay. Emergencies would of course be an exception.
I thought it was magical. It's a beautiful old hotel. Much more charming than a generic chain hotel. I'd always wanted to stay there and booking.com enabled me to afford 2 nights there.
The spa facilities were excellent and the room spacious although the room sizes vary. The situation on the island was peaceful and although not directly in the centre of the city this could easily be accessed in about 5 minutes by bus. I will certainly return in fact it is my second visit. Good value for money. For a hotel of 4 star rating the customer service skills particularly at receptiion are lacking. The Hungarians are hospitable yet seem unfriendly, they should try to smile a bit more.
Very helpful staff, nice design and clean and big room with nice view.
Friendly staff, nice location The exercise room is very small and the equipment is limited
This Hotel was fantastic! Perfect! Walking distance to the bridge and a Hop/On-Off Bus Stop. The view was amazing! The staff was very helpful in providing information about ATM's, restaurants, etc
Location. Friendly staff That we got a smojing room without asking for it. Room did not smell. But feelt in the morning like cigarette smoke came from maybe ventilation.
The location could not be beaten. Right in the heart of Budapest (on the Buda side) and on the banks of the Danube. The water pressure in the bathroom sink was so low that it took an age to fill the sink.
The staff was very helpful in providing information about ATM's, restaurants, etc. Our room was clean and made up very well each day. A tram line runs in front of the hotel and a metro is about a 5 minute walk (or take the tram) from the hotel. A bank, grocery store, and numerous restaurants are within 5 minutes or less. The hotel is located right on the Danube and nearly across from the Parliament building. It is also very easy to get to Castle Hill and via tram or metro to most things in and around the city. There is free internet and pots with tea and coffee in the room. No real complaints, but the bed was a little too hard for my wife but fine for me. I know folks want you to buy there stuff in the in-room refrigerator, but it would be nice if it had a little room to store a sandwich or a bottle of your own pop.
lovely modern contempary hotel promotes smoking. bad stale smell of cigarettes on 6th floor corridor. On Buda side of the city. Most people will want to stay on Pest side of Danube
The Hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very efficent and the service slick. Not actually dislike but as such a fuss was made of the 'artistic' side I thought the decor and layout was a bit disapointing and safe.
The location is perfect for the Duna or Castle view (maybe less for logistics on the night). The room are spacious and clean. Breakfast is too expensive and there's not enough explaination on additional services like sauna and fitness room. You may have to walk in you come back after 11PM as the district is not well served by night buses from city center.
I liked all about this hotel, room was really big and clean, comfort beds. Location was ideal for us, 700 m from uptown and 700 m from downtown
1. The view: I had the room with Danube River facing Parliament; 2. There is a back door that you can access (exit and enter) using your room key card. This leads you directly to the steps towards the Castle area. Near to the main Metro (Batthyany square), bus and tram lines. 3. The staff at the coffee house/ restaurant (lobby floor) are really friendly and make you feel at home. 4. Wi-Fi speed is good. There are plenty of socket Outlet points for laptop, tablet, phone, iPad, power banks .... And hair dryer! The design of the hotel is well thought-out. Well done! 1. Buffet Breakfast spread: would have expected more for a 4/5 star hotel. 2. The main road from (Batthyány Square) although is lighted up. But there are 'funny characters' and drunks lurking and appearing at darker corners and adjoining smaller streets at night. 3. The underground metro is also full of 'drunks' and homeless screaming and begging for money.
Very quiet and clean. The bed was super comfortable and the room was well air conditioned. Staff was competent but not friendly At breakfast, the host communicated mainly by gestures and resented any questions. Free WIFI was glacially slow and not really usable.
The lobby, breakfast, staff, location very close parliament and the metro. The beds. My husbsnd and I were on our honeymoon and were put in a room with twin beds. Also the room furnishings felt like they were all from Ikea. Still a fantastice place to stay.
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful with service such as arranging for a dinner table in a fancy restaurant nearby the hotel after our late arrival. Just the rainshower in the bathroom couldn't get started and there was kind of plastic under the linen...
free internet, rooms, staff, jacuzzi all excalent same breakfast every day maybe sometimes they could change a few things on the morning menu variety
Innovative room below the roof, quiet despite being fully booked, nice staff around breakfast area, good selection for breakfast, frequent flyer miles were credited immediately after stay Non-closing door to bathroom
The Parlament Hotel is a lovely relaxing hotel where staff are very helpful and friendly
excellent location..very helpful staff
not close to underground.
Excellent breakfast. Fast internet access.
the road in front of the hotel was under construction
Great location, staff and service. High quality breakfast. Close to attractions.
Very helpful staff.
The hotel was well positioned especially for the opera house. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. There was no complimentary water in the bedrooms and the mini bar was too expensive. Although there was free water in the day in the lounge. The rooms were over heated and all the party had problems adjusting the temperature so in the end we all switched off all air conditioning and heating.
excellent hotel, staff lovely, couldnt do enough for you no
Everything. Most of all the helping polite friendly staf To leave......
no internet conection even with the help of hotel's staf
Location and spacious rooms. Good value for the money. Not really a 5* hotel with suites, more like good apartment hotel***. If you are looking 5* luxury, it's not a place for you.
Staff were extremely friendly. Hotel was beautiful with a lovely spa. The hotel is not very big which we felt was a bonus, it meant we got a very personal touch.
Everything about our stay was fantastic. The free wifi connections was very good and the staff were all very professional. Ten out of ten. I feel breakfast could have been included in the price.
location, look, big room, spa, parking, good breakfast, hotel staff, not noisy just one tinny soap in bathroom :). Everithing else was pretty good.
Really happy with everything
the rooms were clean and comfortable. the elevatorsecond weren't frenzy located. the breakfast was expensive relatively
parking, very comfortable quiet suite, good breakfast, nice swimming pool we got bathrobes when we asked for them, crowdy breakfast room, entrance of spa area is not designed good - there is no place to change your cloth
Very close to shoping area and good in value for money The breakfast and service was poor
Very clean and comfortable in a good location. Conceirge and reception was very professional.
good location and staff was very helpfull breakfast buffet very bussy and presentation / choise acceptable but could be better
The cleanlines of the rooms, air con, and the services available.
Its very central, and on transport lines Rooms are very warm, and the overall decor is a bit modern cheap.
Well located, comfortable, and a great bargain.
the junior suite which I booked was not so spacious as I expected, but it has one bathroom and a toilet. the staff. Very impolite. Maybe they are too busy to notice, because it looks like the hotel it is a transit hotel, not a leisure one, but still..At breakfast, very crowded, we finally manage to find a table shared with other people, we stayed longer than the closing hours for breakfast 6 30 to 10 00, and the method to get rid of all the ones which were eating still, was to move tables, and chairs very noisy. Anyway, they should extend the hours for beakfast till 11 00, for all ones which like to sleep more in the morning as myself.
Great location for site seeing, metro access, the incredible indoor market, the Danube and the city centre/shopping. Don't be fooled by mention of an airport shuttle on the hotel details. There is no free of charge dedicated Mercure minibus running to an from the airport, like it does in other places. this actually simply means the hotel will book you an airport transfer on request. The airport has it's own shuttle service which costs about 3,000 Forint to the hotel.
The hotels location is central Budapest , with excellent transport links to explore the city . The hotel is a business class hotel , with all the usual facilities you would expect , with a very competitive price to match.
The friendliness of the staff and above all the location of the hotel was excellent. It is exactly were you want to be to be closed to everything. The price was very good - around 70euro per night. The hotel has a very very bad policy on breakfast. They overcharge you for it - 17euro per person per night - and even if you did not go for breakfast they still charge you! Then you have to actually go and tell them that you did not have any breakfast in order to remove it from your bill. This is unacceptable for a hotel of this class. I would reccomend to stay out of the breakfast room and check your bill before you pay it.
Perfect location, good service, English speaking staff, non smoking rooms breakfast and city tax has to be included
The bed and staff were very helpful/friendly The smoking. Everywhere you went you could smell cigarette smoke
The hotel is very comfortable and perfectly located in Pest. Having a gym and cable internet is very convenient.
Excellent location. Very close to metro and busses. Quiet location just off main street. Steps from opera house. Room was very nice . Comfortable bed, clean. I was on first floor and the view was of wall. Not a problem as I did not spend much time in the room. The breakfast was excellent with great variety. Staff helpful and friendly.
Great hotel! Clean and right in the middle of Budapest (the opera house is literally right next door). Front desk (Agnes) was very helpful and accommodateing. Breakfast was nice as well. Would definitely return. The room key system is a little strange, not bad, just strange.
The staff was friendly and hard working. The breakfast was great and kept me full until supper time. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet. Enjoyed using the treadmill in the fitness center. With today's strong US dollar, you can live like a king in Budapest at the K+K Hotel. Nothing worth mentioning.
Nice modern hotel, good location close to St. Stephen's basilica. The breakfasts were good.
Staff was very helpful and nice location. Pullout bed wasn't bad
The receptionists were generally VERY helpful, including one who worked the phone for ten or fifteen minutes and got me an incomprehensible deal on a personal day trip to the tokaji wine region, picked up and dropped off at the hotel, with tours of three vineyards and tastings with the nicest guide ever, scheduled less than two days before the trip. This wad a highlight of my stay in Hungary. They also let me extend my stay for two additional nights jist the day before my scheduled checkout, although the cost of the room went up rather significsntly (it was very cheap to start, though, considering the quality of the hotel). The typical hotel provisions to the room are rather minimal though (soap extremely tiny, no slippers, only one box of tissues), so I found myself asking for things at the front desk a lot, which made me feel a bit awkward.
Location Not so new furniture in rooms, still very nice and modern bathrooms.
Excellent location right in the city center. Beautiful, clean lobby, refurbished rooms, very helpful staff. Probably the most comfortable stay I've ever had in a city. -
convenience, cleanliness, modern, good breakfast
Excellent Facilities,great location
Big rooms, kind staff and small but nice swimming pool - indoor and outdoor both heated 32-34 C. Even though it is far a way from city center, it offers free shuttle bus to city center and it takes 20 minutes ride. No shower cap, no conditioner in the room, however you can request it from the reception. Entrance to the swimming pool and aqua park is not free, but it cost only eur 10 per person. Aqua world is not very safe one, I wouldn't visit again, however other facilities are good.
pools and spa area
The staff was very friendly, spoke good English and very helpful. The facilities were excellent and well kept. The spa was very professional and my wife really enjoyed her treatments there. The dinners we had at the restaurant were well prepared and presented. We will most definitely stay there again. Thank you for a wonderful stay. The prices were a little high for the spa services.
The best is Aquaworld. Thank Mr ágoston (Reservation Clerk) for understanding for the problems I had with my credit card and acceptance of our reservation, regardless of these problems. Staff to manipulate prices spa center - I have twice paid in, at the entrance on spa (did not get the bill) and on the desk when I was checking out. My English is not so good but I know staff or poorly understood or pretending to not understand what I am talking about this issue (I often travel and I have not similar problems).
Three room apartment was very nice for a four person family. Rooms were large and goodlooking. Aquaworld was of great pleasure to the kids, also the parents had a fine time. Room was an apartment so there could have been more cups, waterheater and some other tools to make a litlle evening snack. Breakfasts and dinners were quite expencive to be eaten every day. Kids were a bit tired to come to the restaurant and a nice cosy snack could have been nicer some times.
This was our second stay at Aquaworld, we have two kids so we stayed in the three-roomed apartments, which are very nice - spacious, clean, well equipped. The swimming pools are excellent. The service on our second stay was not as good as our first experience. We arrived at 14:30hrs and was told our room was not ready (check-in is 14:00hrs, check-out 10:00hrs) after a three-hour drive to get there. After a 40 min wait we decided to take an alternative apartment.
I like almost everything The dinner was expansive and not ver good
The attitude of the receptionist from spa area. All other staff attitude was ok.
Spent nice 2 nights in the hotel with friends. It is a hotel as it should be a quality one. No complaint. Too expensive breakfast which we rather not had.
We loved using the Aquaworld during our stay at the Ramada Resort in Budapest. The room is spacious and clean. There is also a free bus service to the Heroes Square which comes handy. It's the perfect Hotel for families with young children. Our two year old daughter and my 7 month pregnant wife loved it. The Hotel offers also free wifi, which I used to keep in touch with family and friends via social networks on my smart-phone (avoiding Roaming charges) and also there are computers with printer available on the internet room near reception which are handy for on-line check-in for example. The taxi we booked through reception was much cheaper than the taxi we took at the airport. After 7 days we where a bid fed-up of the lack of variety offered for Breakfast - every day the same. For example no Oranges, Strawberries, Cherries, Kiwi, Pineapple, Mango, Mellon, Nectarines, Grapefruit or fresh juices available. Croissants where terrible. Only highly processed cereals. Not a genuinely Continental breakfast offered as we expected.
The location of the hotel was fantastic, in the heart of the beautiful Castle District and with great views of the Danube and Pest. The staff (all spoke English) were excellent and very helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel to anyone.
The view is unique!! The breakfast was not at high level as per Hilton reputation
The location was excellent. The professional attendance by the staff was excellent.
Nice location in the castle area, breakfast is good, service is OK. Internet access wifi very expensive.
Wonderful location to reach all the sights of Buda by foot. Pest just a short bus ride away. Kettle and small fridge in the room was nice for a quick and very affordable breakfast (grocery just a 2 minute walk away). Comfortable beds and large room. Quick elevators:) Nice gym.
Location is excelent; good services / facilities Not enought chairs / tables for breakfast; they added on my bill something from minibar; old furniture in my room
Great View Expensive Internet fee
Staff were attentive and helpful. Noise from major works at Church next door.
clean room, great location near the castle, normal buffet breakfast Not all rooms were renovated
The quality of the room and breakfast. The location is fantastic. No
Friendly staff, convenient location, quaint building, good breakfast. The staff even provided a complimentary bottle of champagne for my wife's birthday. No safety deposit boxes in the room or at reception although there was the use of the hotel safe
Central location, helpful staff, clean room, good breakfast room Room could use more decoration- pictures on wall, color
friendly, helpful staff; quiet, non-smoking, spacious room; great breakfast buffet;convenient location - we had never been to Budapest before and didn't really know before we arrived that this would be such a great location. We would highly recommend this hotel.
The staff were very friendly and all spoke good English also very helpful Rooms nice The bar needs lacks character and hence lacks customwers
The hotel offers very spacious rooms with pleasant view of an inner yard. The breakfast is more than sufficient. Location is best!
Location. Free breakfast was very nice. No problem.
Perfect location for tourists in Budapest. The A/C-unit did not have sufficient capacity. The room located towards the street had to much noise to keep the windows open at night. I.e. very hot in the room at night.
Excellent location, safe, clean, quiet. Easy access for public transportation, and walking. Staff always helpful but not intrusive.Nice fresh breakfast every day. Some info about what the neighbourhood has to offer like a drug store grocer would be helpful.
i loved the comfortable pillows and big bed.also the proximity to opera and metro very few toiletries and when you travel hand luggage with ryan air ,you cant carry them
Spacious and clean room, beautiful building inside, central location, close to historical buildings, restaurants, bars & metro, free internet in room. Strong smell of cigarettes in corridor
We thought the hotel was charming. The inner courtyard that we viewed from our window was lovely. The breakfast room had character and the buffet was excellent. The people at the desk were very welcoming and extremely helpful, especially when we had to catch a taxi at 5:30 a.m. for the airport.
Parking fee of seventeen dollars is steep especially when you are only told at checkout
great location, walking distance to everywhere. There's also bus station close to the hotel. facilities are pretty old. the room I stayed had very strong smell.
The staff was awesome at helping to answer our many tourist questions and point us in the direction of the best stuff to visit. On the 24th everything in the city closes very early which we didn't realize, but one of the front desk staff went out of his way to figure out what restaurants near by we're still opened. They also placed us in a room that was very easy to let our dog out to go to the bathroom. Breakfast is very good! Location is perfect as well! Defiantly would stay here again! The only tiny thing we thought was off was the hotel bar. Not very busy and the prices were a bit expensive compared to the bars right near the hotel. We used it on Christmas eve though and had a blast, everything is what you make it!!
Very nice hotel located close to the Castle. Easy walk to all around town and to the major landmarks from there.
Excellent location and great value for money N/A
staff was counter-productive and spoke harshly... the staff in other hotels in eastern europe were slightly friendlier/more professional
Location!!! Breakfast was good. The first staff member who greeted us insisted we needed a printed voucher to check in even though I had the confirmation email on my phone.....he was somewhat rude. We sought help from another reservationist who was very helpful and got us checked in right away. From then on all staff was extremely courteous.
Everyone is very polite
The rooms were nice and clean The bathroom curtain system leaked a lot, other than that, the baths were good!
location and facilties no
access to the spa
The spa for goodness sake! Best I have experienced, but everything elsewas fine too. No, not really
The Spa was relaxing The room was old and worn down. I had better expectations.
The interior common areas are beautiful. The room I eventually received was great. The breackfast buffet was the best of 10 hotels in 3 countries. The "single" room was a hot, noisy shoebox, not merely a "room with one bed". An absence of water in the shower forced a hasty, gracious upgrade to a lovely room. The baths were dilapidated and disappointing- website photos out-dated. Thermal bath not available to females- upgrade in progress, I think (hope)..
Excellent staff and services. Very quiet and confortable place. Great value for money spent. Perfect location. Beautiful thermal baths included in the price of the room. Maybe the moquette on the floor in the room
excellent breakfast the Internet access is expensive and in fact does not work as the company that supplies it did not solve the problem that when (as very often happens) the connection goes down there is need to call the company for a logout before you can login again
english breakfast, clean bathroom, large portions in restaurants, hotel staff speaks english and german, great view (danube, hills) room needs refurbishment, hotel price is too expensive
The spaciousness of the passages and beautiful stain glass windows No facilities in the rooms for making tea
all was perfect....all was ok....staff and rooms too!!! i tell to all customers that gellert is shure the best hotel in budapest....no chance for others hotel to compare with gellert position too!!!! dr agnelli nothing.
The Location just on the edge of the town on the riverside is excellent. if your expecting the sterile look of a premier inn or other large chain of hotels then don't stay here. The Gellert gives you glimpse of a bygone age. Wood panelling and colourful glass decorate the interior. Yes its a bit frayed around the edges, but then so am I and I am not 100 years old. The service was attentive and helpful and the facilities more than acceptable for its price bracket and rating. Yes you can get a more modern and predictable experience but I consider myself an individual character in life and so the Gellert has individual character. I came to see the city of Budapest and not spend all my time looking under the carpet for hotel faults, so savour its uniqueness, charm, history and enjoy. Thank you for the experience. Breakfast was a little to canteen like, but other than that good value for money.
Location Bathroom is very poorly planned. Example; water all over the fllor when taking a shower. Not worth the price they charge.
Excellent downtown hotel for both business and leisure at very reasonable prices !
Good location in shopping district; easy access to all transport; free internet; good breakfast available
Excellent in terms of location with very friendly and helpful staff. Perfect for sightseeing and close to all main attractions.
good location for sightseeing, excellent breakfast, helpful staff
Great Service and best location
great location not informed about the on going renovation (noisy and dusty)
Location is very good for business trips as well for touristic trips Preference for non-smoking room was disregarded. Only after a chat at the reception, wee have moved to a non-smoking room.
Room size, cleanliness, linen, location No
easy to go everywhere.. to bus station, metro, shooping center... never
Good accommodation and excellent dining facilities
Spacious room, great club lounge with nice selection of food and beverages Staff at reception rather unfriendly. Staff coming into the room despite 'don't disturb' sign on the door.
Location Room well equiped but a bit smelly... Old type of shower spraying everywhere, noisy but not efficient aircondition. Even when the price was relatively fine (thanks to early and non refundable booking) it is highly probable I will not return.
the location!!!!!!!!!! everything was ok!
Excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff The swimming pool was cold
The staff were excellent, including the desk staff, bellman, doorman, and driver! They couldn't have been nicer! The location of the hotel is also first-rate. It offers an excellent view of the river and is situated close to many sight-seeing attractions. Smoking is permitted in the hotel lobby/bar. It made for an unpleasant entrance into the hotel. The bathroom in the room was small as well.
nice room, perfect location and excellent service from the staff
Location, obvious...the hotel is located on Danube's embankment, with a gorgeous view. The architecture of the hotel...it's ugly (this is my personal view.).
Location and quality of room. Excellent service from all staff. Price of breakfast was expensive; even for 5 star hotel.
I stayed just one night it is therefore difficult to say any more
The best service I ever met in a 5 star. Very good cookery also.
Hungarian Night The business center was closed on the weekend.
The staff were extremely helpful & did contribute to making our stay most enjoyable. Factilites & rooms are to be recommended. The location is good, near the river & a fab cafe in St Stephen's Square
Excellent staff, excellent service, good location
The room and the staff. No
