A very clean and comfortable hotel.
Excellent location for a quick stopover. Excellent breakfast with freshly cooked scrambled eggs!
Easy access, large rooms, ample parking, free WiFi, efficient air conditioning, grassed area to walk our dogs , reasonable rate for them to stay and pleasant staff Bad lighting in shower area Would benefit from more choice at breakfast.
the quiet room, no external noise. Wonderful.
On top of great staff and value for money, also very close to a Carrefour shopping center, gas station and McDonalds. Perfect place to stay overnight when traveling by car.
Right next to the main road, but the sound proofing was excellent. Great place to stay for a night or few, simple but good quality
Sheets were clean and crisply ironed. The room was very small and cramped. No room to pass each other or for the suitcases.
Convenient for town centre, adequate parking The reception area had a bad smell and the room was quite small.
Friendly helpfull staff excelent resturant
newly refurbished hotel, excellent staff and very good location for rugby stadium and central Brive no
Original design, excellent laguage skills
Comfort and very helpful staff, also very much enjoyed your restarant, excellant food.
Comfortable bed, clean room, tasteful decor, very quiet. Very friendly staff. Gourmet restaurant on site. Excellent room service for coffee and pastry. No.
Very pleasant hotel situated away from the centre of Brive - the castle aspect was interesting, the rooms very comfortable A pool with some sun loungers would have been very nice
Comfortable bed, nice goody bag Room cold on arrival (less than 10 degrees), toilet door didn't shut properly, lamp missing a bulb, restaurant closed, no shower cubicle and poor bath design, poor location of tv in relation to sofa.
It was a hotel with a difference. Extremely thoughtful and contemporary decor within a traditional setting. The bed was the most comfortable of any hotel we've ever slept in! The location was a bit further out of the town than we had originally expected - a thirty minute walk.
The restaurant is great Not in particular
The staff were very helpful, and recommended a few wonderful sites for our car trip in the area. The manager spoke English, and was very helpful. The room was immaculate, and we were served breakfast there each morning. We ate in the Envie Restaurant one evening, and found it superb, although it is not for the weak of budget. There were no washcloths, although there were sufficient towels. The decor, while extremely well designed, was not in keeping with the antiquity of the chateau. That's not anything more than an aesthetic quibble. The location makes this a beautiful place for those traveling by car, and looking for slightly pricey comfort.
We arrived at the hotel earlier than planned and they had a range of cards featuring places of interest, one of which was a beautiful garden. An unexpected treat.
Close to A20 motorway
Provided a good overnight stopping point on journey through France. Easy to find and suitable for motorway connection.
We used the hotel as an overnight stopover and for this purpose it was perfect - great location, friendly staff and comfortable room.
Easy access from a20. Good buffett breakfast. Restaurant closed on Sunday night. This was not mentioned on the website. Shower not really usable.
The hotel was ideally located within a couple of minutes of the motorway. The food in the restauarant was good and served well.
No map on web site - the post code given on sat nav gave hotel in a different part of the road, it was therefore difficult to find when coming off the motorway
Staff very friendly and accomodating, room very spacious and comfortable. Room very clean. Good variety at breakfast, staff very helpful. Dissapointed that restaurant not open as we had a very long drive from England and had to eat at Macdonalds situated acroos the hotel car park.
Pleasent friendly, easy to find, just of the motorway although quiet. Supermarket and McDonalds in walking distance nearby. Great as an overnight stop. No - did exactly what we wanted, quick and easy stop over.
reasonable price : good food for the price: close to autoroute: easy to find . staff pleasant. dirty floors in the bedroom. our feet were black
great value too far from the city
very friendly service
Comfortable, close to the city, relaxed
The hotel is no longer an airport hotel (the new airport is 20km away at Valee Dordogne) I did not know this due to poor advertising / information and therefore paid $40 for my taxi. The hotel itself is very basic, 1970's by design and basically unpoleasant. Very overpriced at $75 pe rnight via your website. Will not use your site or Campanile ever again.
It was very convenient ad an overnight stop when travelling. It was clean, the staff pleasant and the food was good. Ideal for my purpose.
Restaurant( impression, did not eat there) Shaby furniture
The hotel was in a very central location in Brive. The room was very spacious and airy. There was free parking available close to the hotel. The staff were friendly and efficient. The menu in the restaurant had quite an unusual selection of food. I would have preferred more of a choice of international cuisine.
The hotel restaurant was open when nothing else within walking distance was. It had a lift. Very poor value for the money. Don't be confused by the price or fancy looking restaurant out front. This hotel is not a good value for the money. After seeing the room, I would not have eaten in the restaurant if anything else within walking distance had been open. The fish was good and the vegetables well prepared and presented. However, one of the sauces, thankfully served on the side, tasted like a new vinyl beach ball smells. I am a very experienced traveller and felt I was "taken" by this hotel. The beds are very hard and uncomfortable. Absolutely no view from my room.
Lovely little hotel with unusual rooms, centrally placed and ideal for the stadium in Brive, as well as being in the centre of the town. Decor is slightly old fashioned but still charming.
Very pleasant reception by the "mine Host" Warm and generally pleasant stay Brekfast was well presented but sadly lacking for the price
Convenience to town centre & good restaurant We booked a none smoking room but the first room offered smelt of smoke. However, staff quickly and curteously found us another room.
Restaurant excellent although service a little brusque. Room clean but very average. Pillows were diabolical and we didn't sleep well as a result. Breakfast was awful.
Relaxed and comfortable.
Staff not very welcoming.
The hotel is nicely situated for bars and restaurants
The staff were very friendly. I also found the location very central to the train and amenities as we did not have a car. Great food too and good value. The 5 course meal for 18 euro was delicious and a bargain.
the owner (son) was very friendly and helpful. -the location was very close to train station...security not the best.
close to the station but not noisy. impeccably clean. friendly staff. efficient
The hotel was very convenient for the station as we were passing through Brive on our way south. The food was good and reasonably priced; the hotel isn't luxurious but it was comfortable.
Liked the convenience, right next door to the railroad station where we were going the next day. It was clean, cheap, comfortable. and has all the basics plus friendly, pleasant staff.
i didn't try the restaurant in the hotel, but the one just in front, called 'a touch of salt', is great...
the shower was far too small, the carpet was really dirty with large black foot prints.
Great room, staff very helpfull and freindly, fantastic location it is all it says it is.We loved our stay there. No
Restaurant in this otel was excellent
Appart from location nothing... We could not even fit in the showers they were so small!! and we are not big people! cleanliness and showers
Close to both railway station and town centre The hotel and room were not particularly warm.
loved the hotel, the staff, and the town no
central location being charged for my pet.
The room was spotlessly clean and the room for breakfast had a nice outlook over the park. The hotel was easy to find from the train station. The shutters on the window of my room couldn't be opened, meaning that the room felt claustrophobic. There was a smell of cigarette smoke coming into the room. The bed would be uncomfortable for more than an overnight stay and the pillows were lumpy.
The owners were so nice to us! They gave us all kinds of sightseeing ideas that would have missed without thier advice. We enjoyed their friendliness so much.
A basic typically French hotel. The owners were accommodating and provided an adjacent room (at extra cost) in lieu of the requested twin-bed room with a shared bathroom. The owner waited up to provide access after Midnight, access thereafter being by a back door. The bedrooms themselves were spartan, being furnished with a double bed, chair and very small side table. It would have been nice to have somewhere to hang clothes. The windows had half-length curtains but were not overlooked by adjacent properties. While fine in December, in summer this could lead to an early awakening. The bathroom was a reasonable size with a decent shower. Breakfast consisted of a bread basket and jam/marmalade, tea/coffee. The corridor lights are on a timer switch and it was very difficult to find the light switch in the dark. A movement sensor to switch on at least one light would be a good idea.
air conditioning in room size and decor of room. not a hotel I would like to be in if there were an emergency. One single steep staircase
The owners were biycle friendly and stored our bikes indoors in an easily accessible place. Not every hotel owner is kind to folks traveling by bicycle.
Good central stop over point. Quite basic but clean and adequate for needs. Ideal for family of four as two joined rooms.
A very dated and antiquated guesthouse. A very compact bathroom. The website said 'a lively little Bistro'. In actual fact, they do not serve any food apart from breakfast! There is very little nearby to entice us to return to the town.
Nice hotel with nice proprieter in a convenient central location. The rooms were rather small.
Friendly and helpful staff
Leaving. Locked gate for car. discounted meal available at Campanille Staff attitude. Not enough choice for breakfast.
The hotel itself is pretty basic with no aircon. The village though is wonderful.
ground floor with parking immediatly outside. Interconnecting rooms were ideal for family of 5 Little floorspace in room minimal storage; no mirrors; no TV or Radio/CD etc - seemed basic and cramped compared with Etap. No cooked breakfast
Very warm, personal welcome from staff
Price and convenience for an overnight stay
We have stayed approx 10 times it is ideal as a 1 night stop over and although hotel is basic it is ideal for us who travel with our dogs. The rooms/beds are very clean. As back sufferers my wife and I agree the beds are the most comfortable we have ever slept on. The automatic check in is also a bonus as on our last trip we were delayed 4 hours but was able to use auto check in at midnight.
Functional - things worked There was a noise problem (1) The heating unit at the far end of the hotel (2) I could hear a very loud and talkative client in the adjoining room. I think the noise may have come through the bathroom partition.
Close proximity to Motorway No
Perfect location by the pedestrian area, very good hospitality. Parking included, accomodation at very cheap price. Sheets and towels clean. Big rooms, good breakfast. WiFi, playstation... Very very very old rooms (we were scared the ceiling could fall down during the night...) and even older toilets. In general for this price we couldn't expect more, but maybe wallpaper should be changed at least every 40 years? :-)
Excellent food - dinner and breakfast. Personal service - very pleasant and welcoming Atmospheric - early 19c coaching inn. Dining room very attractive. Parking - large garage beside hotel (ex coach house) Excellent position - centre of Brives - very attractive old town. Age of the hotel shows in places - parts better decorated than others. En suite bathroom quite small. Room without toilet has more space for shower and wash basin (toilet is along landing) Street noises when window is open.
We loved the central location, the very friendly proprieter, the view of the church from the bedroom window, and the authentic French experience. Not for those who need all mod cons and new decor.
The location of this hotel is very good to visit this city on a short stay. This hotel must have been very good some time in the past, but as for now it needs refurnishing for todays standards. The lady in charge was helpful, in offering different rooms.
Web reservation Price of the room Easy to find Center of city Bad look of the room Bad look of the hotel Medium diner Pollution and noise from the street
The pleasant nature of the Lady in charge Rooms were very shabby,no hot water Wallpaper falling off,Plasterwork falling off windows all floorboards creaking...all in all very old and very very badly maintained
None Two rooms booked for family burn marks on bed clothes, water markes on ceiling and walls, showers not fit for purpose, difficulty locking door,Bad state of repair and decoration throughout
Food was excellent Could do with a coat of paint.
the manager was very accomodating and helpful there was not much on the menu for a child with conservatrive tastes but they were willing to make up a meal off menu
