I liked the atmosphere, facilities and the staff who were most helpful and friendly. I did experience some problems with accessing my room with the card that was provided to me. It often didn't work and this caused me some inconvenience. I would have been much better off with a good old fashioned key! However, the staff made every effort to resolve this problem by upgrading me to a different room with a sea view. I considered this to be outstanding customer service.
A very comfortable bed having to wait in line to get a breakfast table
Everything lovely place to stay
The hotel was very comfortable. The service in the restaurant for breakfast was not good.
Leisure facilities £15 to pay for car parking. No mention of this until we had arrived. Staff could be a little overzealous. We received the bill for our evening meal before we had had our dessert and coffee and our table was cleared while we were getting our cooked breakfast
The buffet breakfast was superb, especially the honeycomb. Im the first room we were given the central heating was not wotking and we had to move to another room, but nobody came to help us with our luggage and we had to carry it all ourselves - not what one expects from a 4-star hotel especially as my wife and I are in our late seventies
Received room upgrade. Very good service
Nice spacious room and spacious general areas staff were very obliging. Could not control temperature in room which got very hot. But in fairness that is a problem a lot of older hotels have.
old world charm but shows signs of fading service in Oscars restaurant fell well below expected standard
good customer service rooms quite small
The breakfast was very delightful, lot of choices and they do cater for vegetairans and those who use soya milk. The spa facilities were good. However, I would say that the hotel needs refurbishment and some area needs modernisation. Being told that we are limited to one towel each by one particular member in the spa club. This was not the case with other staff members.
It is in a very good location and a charming old building The room had no windows, I thought we were in a storage cupboard, the shower kept changing temperature and the shower head kept falling down. The bed was tiny and hard. It was a really dreadful hotel.
I really enjoyed using the pool but I did not appreciate having to pay extra to use it. Paying for swimming pool facilities. Befro side lights not bright enough to read under !
Friendly staff, cheap, nice food .
Staff very efficient. Liesure facilities excellent. Room clean good value for money. Restaurant basic. Food basic. Menu basic. presentation of bar food basic. Bar food poor. Garden furniture plastic not inviting. Disabled room offered no window.
The pool and jacuzzi were excellent
The convenience of the heated swimming pool in Autumn, close to shops & beach for walking. The Bar menu appears to have been changed since my Grandson & I came down earlier this year and it is not a good or varied as it was.
The twin room was a good size with adequate facilities. The price was raised up for the bank holiday.
Room was very spacious Cost of food.
Yes - no car parking space
The service was very good, with all the staffs available and ready when needed. the comfort was far above the price paid for. I would definitely recommend people to experience and i will definitely like to stay to the same hotel if i have to visit the city again.
Besides excellent standard of facilities (shower/heating/TV/wifi/workarea) the hotel has a simple, modern fresh design throughout.
nothing too much trouble watered down orange juice at breakfast
The hotel was comfortable and the staff were friendly. It was rather noisy during the night. We were disturbed at 2am by a couple arguing loudly and again at 3.50 am by people returning from a night club trying to access our room. So consequently we hardly slept on the first night of our stay. This was the only thing we did not like about the hotel.
rooms slightly over priced.
Everything about the hotel was excellent, friendly staff, good facilities and very clean, I will definitely return again and recommend this hotel to everybody. nothing
The staff were very polite and welcoming, the rooms were modern and tidy and the breakfast service was very good.
On Business Would have liked more choice of evening meals
Breakfast was good , and the showers were excellent. Reception staff were very friendly the air con wasnt working , ordered a sandwich and 30mins later still not arrived
The cleanliness and convenient location
Location, excellent value for money Pillows too hard
The comfortable lounges, the attentiveness of the staff and their efforts to please. The bedroom needed an update and was a little sparse.
very well situated and the ambience of the whole place was good. restaurent staff were particularly obliging we we in room 97 , ground floor for diabled, not our request, the bathroom did not have adequate window covering so using at night with lights on was awkward and the outsidde door from that room was far from secure
services and the room. quite and peacful. room was very hot on arrival.
bathroom was dirtyand the main room was very run down ,in need of a referb or a good clean
Good size room, great location of hotel, lovely swimming pool bathroom starting to look a bit tired, shower still needing repair
the calm and peacful surroundings
Friendly staff and good food. Our room should not have been allocated before the security, locks etc had been repaired.
Breakfast Bathroom had tiles about to fall off, creaky floorboards, dinner menu choice very poor,
The first impression of the hotel eg reception, dining room etc was impressive as was the size of our room. Ther bathroom was very dated and could benefit from a complete update
Pleasant and helpful staff.Good food.Warm and comfortable, bright and clean.
Central location very limited carparking hotel needs a make over, quite dated
Decor very very tired (corridors & bathroom) It was a typical old fashioned "seaside" hotel... the bathroom hasn't been changed since the 70's (nasty pink suite) and had a mouldy/damp smell. The room also felt extremely draughty and cold, despite the heating being on! The staff were friendly enough though. So to sum up, it is OK for one night.
The staff and the breakfast were superb. The bedroom smelt, believe it emminated from the mattress. Arrived late too tired not until next day the smell had ingressed into clothing. Decor poor and needs complete refurbishment.
we found the location ideal for the shops and theatre. The breakfast was very good and the staff very polite and friendly. creaky floorboards and the housekeeping staff started vacumming at 8.30 in the room upstairs. Also building work taking place although this was probably reflected in the price we paid.
when handing in my key the receptionist could not give me a receipt for the room have requested copy but by 6th July still waiting
Everyone was helpful & friendly. An ideal spot for all locations in the area.
a up grad of room free of carge noizy nabbears but was lookd aferter
the pool and sauna .breakfast the room was an insult ,bathroom outdated and very dirty shower unfit to use . plugs loose on walls wallpaper a disgrace ,torn and dirty.
This hotel offered free WIFI & Parking, and the room only cost £32! The receptionist was very helpful and friendly and I got a free room upgrade. The food in the diner was very good and well priced. Can't really work out why people were moaning, the price is fantastic and everywhere is very clean. Yes, the hotel is a bit dated but its comfortable and the cheapest around so well worth it for a short break. everyone stop moaning and pay more if you expect 5 star services At best, the floorboards outside my room were a bit creaky and there was no blind in the bathroom, which didn't particularly bother me
Welcoming staff for English speakers but noticed lack of skill at reception for foreigners ie rapid, complex sentences, given once, no body language or reference to local town map etc. I saw two foreigners bemused despite being given instructions which only I could just follow. A little bit ot raining might help! Just a friendly observation - not meaning to be too critical!
room was comfy and breakfast was pretty good. Getting a phone call at 10.02 telling us we need to be out of the room, and paying for parking is a bit of a cheek.
Excellent location for beach, shops and the BIC. Lovely seaview room (although was an upgrade on check in for extra £10 p/n) rooms would benefit alarm clocks, and shower gel/shampoo.
Friendly staff, clean had a lift As it is on the main road and windows are very thin, a lot of road noise!
The staff were pleasant. The food was very basic, not really very appetizing. I would call it a B&B not a hotel really so it was expensive considering this wasn't really a proper hotel. The building is not at all modern- creaky floorboards, basic amenities, small single room. Not very good value for money. Check-out time is 10:00 am, a bit too early.
Comfortable room, and good breakfast. Having booked 2 twin rooms, and being given 2 doubles, and having to pay an extra £15 to upgrade.
close to the sea noise from the street
Freindly staff Possible needs some refurbishment
nice bar area. the bed was a bit uncomfortable. mattress was old.
Close to BIC & shopping
went to a show at the b i c
The reception and lounge area was very attractively decorated and inviting. All the staff we dealt with were very pleasant and helpful. The bedrooms were very basic and the blinds in our room were broken in places. The room was also at the front of the hotel so was quite noisy, however it was clean and warm.
Friendly staff. Value for money Nothing to dislike
the setting and breakfast sqeaky floor boards and windows were hard to shut.
It was very clean and modern and the staff were very friendly No food in the evenings. There was no sound proofing in the room, when the people came into the room above it was like they were sat in the room with us
The organisation of my sons wedding was great. The ceremony and the facilities we used made it very special. Some areas needed to be refurbished..... which was a shame.
quirky decor, good parking, spacious public areas, very pleasant restaurant, friendly reception, good last minute room rate, excellent location. had to have breakfast one morning in less pleasant nearby sister hotel; mattress rather thin
We stayed at this hotel to attend a wedding and reception. The Orchid has excellent facilities for both weddings and wedding receptions and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Good Scrambled egg and service at Breakfast.
Beautiful room with balcony, lovely restaurant, great ambience.
Balcony doors in our room were locked and this meant there was no escape route other than the main door.We asked at reception and were told that the balconys had not passed the safety inspection and therefore could not be used which we thought was a poor excuse and not complying with Health and Safety Regulations.
Very relaxing, fabulous breakfast, pleasant staff. Pity about the awful weather though!! Just opposite the Pavillion Theatre where we had tickets to see the Electric Light Orchestra trib band, brilliant!! Nothing negative springs to mind.
Hotel Is Clean, rooms are really nice and a lot of space with great bathrooms.Beds are also comfortable. There's no room service available at the hotel and think they should review this some time in the future. Many people are awake late and want a snack or drink and the hotel doesint offer any.
Excellent staff, amazing spacious room, clean modern hotel.
All facilities excellent including restaurantand service Could not gain access to balcony Directions to carparking not clear when booking
We were given a lovely large room which had a seaview. The staff at the hotel reception were friendly and extremely helpful, giving us directions and information about the university which we were going to visit. We stayed in a twin room , the beds were rather hard and uncomfortable.
My son and I loved the layout, design of room, hotel, the sea views and accessiblity to Bournemouth center. The receptionist very helpful on arrival. Beds were rock hard and pillows to match. Having asked to be moved to a quiet room were given a lovely room but could hear baby crying in adjoining room through night. So both my son and I did not sleep well at all. No hangers for clothing and very little lighting for evening when dark.
Great building, bar and restaurant area very well designed and relaxinb atmosphere Unfortunately we were allocated a room suitable for disabled guests which would have been great for a wheelchair user ( having holidayed this year with a friend in a wheelchair and realised how hard it is to find suitable accommodation - this is a real plus) however it meant that we only had a disabled shower in our room and no bath- which for non wheelchair users is a bit disappointing - we were not asked whether this would be OK which I was not happy about.
I liked the style of the hotel, different from other Premier Inn's The restaurant staff seemed inexperienced and there didn't appear to be a manager
Staff were very rude and it took ages to check in. Car parking was terrible and I had to street park and get up early in the morning to move the car. As I was at reception I heard them trying to relocate guests as they had overbooked. The room was stuffy and there were no pillows on my bed when I checked in. The bathroom hadnt even been cleaned as the toilet was unflushed. The hotel description mentioned free wi-fi which the hotel did not have.
I liked the location of the hotel, easy access into the town. The room was very clean and there was alot of space. We stayed at this hotel at the end of november, being very cold we expected heating in our room, unfortunatly there was no heating in our room, took 3 phonecalls down to reception to get them to bring a small heater up, which then came with a grumpy member of staff with no apology. On the website it states there is parking available and it does no need to be reserved. We arrived at the hotel at 2pm and there was no parking spaces available, even the next morning there was still no spaces. We paid at the hotel by debit card after reserving the room on booking.com after leaving the hotel the next morning and giving the key back I received a phonecall from reception saying that I still hadn't paid for the room. Not a good experience.
it was very lay back .a good placa to stay near the beech and shop and pubs.
The friendlyness of all staff and there quickness in helping The rooms need updating bath's need replacing or degunging and the view of the pool area was terible
location good easy access to beach and shops both outdoor pool and health suite closed for duration of our stay
Very central to town beach all within walking distance Will be staying again
The staff were friendly and service understanding and hospitable. The heating was not working in the room we checked into, and one of the windows was broken. We were given a replacement room which was much smaller, but we were given a free dinner to make up for it,
Location, easily accessible, parking facilities.
The room was newly refurbished and well laid out.Very clean and lots of room.Comfortable bed. The staff were mostly non english and they were unfriendly and also unhelpful failing to pass on a very urgent message for me.
Great location, great breakfast and friendly staff. The room was very hot when we arrived, the housekeeper tried to get us out the room early and the grouting around the tiles in the bath was dirty, off colour and generally old and worn.
the location of the hotel as it was close to the beach and the town, the staff where helpful and friendly, the room was clean, spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent.
Value for money Difficulties with booking. Active hotels and Piccadally not aligned on certain issues as type of credit cards to be used etc. Gunnar
A nice hotel for a layed back holiday. Would not be recommended to to people for lively nights out.
Clean, pleasant room; well located. A staff member entered our room in the morning while we were still asleep!
Good location, really friendly staff, clean hotel and loads of car park spaces! Decor was a bit old fashioned but wasn't too offensive!
nice, clean hotel, good location
Lounge area Bathroom was tiny with cracked mirror and old bathroom carpet and sliding door. Bed was tiny and soft. Apparently it was a dancing hotel and music filtered up til 1.30 am. No breakfast was included in the price. Bedroom picture misleading.
The receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was very good! Location excellent for accessing town centre. The room we were in was very small.
Clean and tidy. Friendly staff. Had to change room on arrival as it was far too small for a double and quite dark. Second room was better but still small and required updating.
Only stayed for one night
I realy do enjoyed staying at Hotel Piccadily. Staffs were very helpful and friendly!very confort room aswell!no fuss or anything it was great hotel!!!! Nothing
The staff was nice and friendly and the room was clean, although a bit aged. The whole hotel is showing its age and could do with some brush ups here and there although it is generally kept in a nice, clean state.
The food was excellent, particularly at dinner and the service very good relating to all needs. Shower was not the best I've used in a hotel.
Easy walking distance to Bournemouth centre. Breakfast choice was excellent with very good service. Our room had single glazed metal frame windows with no heating, at end September was cold overnight.
it was good to be able to sleep in and not have to leave the room until 2pm, allthough this was at an extra cost. I found the night porter slighty upset that i dared to return after midnight and my companion did not return until the sun had risen again, one can omly wonder what sought of reception he recieved
The staff were friendly and courteous, willing to help and give appropriate information regarding interesting places to visit. Ventilation was not working in the bathroom, bed was not comfortable, noise when you tried to turn---- Broken spring ?
Breakfast Decor - very dated and depressing
Good location No - everything was fine
Privacy, yet service on hand when required. Efficient booking system
Visited my daughter who is studing at Bournmouth University I would suggest that you visit he Hotel. We stayed in room 8 and it stunk of stale cigeratte smoke. The general state of the room was poor especially the carpets which were antique, stained and held ogether by tape. The bathroom would not have been out of place in a military barracks, altogether not a very pleasent stay. On the positive side that staff were friendly and helpful and the dining area was clean and tidy and the standard of food adaquate. This hotel reflected badley on you site and would make me nervous of using it again against a Premier Inn or Travelodge for example where you know what you get.. Hope this helps
pace and quaiet
A luxurious room with a roll top bath in the window alcove, very attentive and friendly staff and excellent food in the restaurant, what more could you ask for. Plainer biscuits with the room service cheese !!! but thats all.
clenlyness Menu a bit limited
It was overall an excellent stay. The room was simply lovely, the food was delicious and so was the wine on their list. The hotel is very stylish and offers a homly feeling right away when one enters. That I coundn't stay longer... ;-)
the bed was nice as were the pillows, towls nice and thick would have liked more chose of food from menu at night, only the taster menu on offer which was over priced
I wanted to experience a "Green" hotel. I was very impressed and felt well informed about their efforts to be as eco friendly as possible. The hotel has been restored beatifully, fabulous beds and great food.
I cant point to anything Dinning room staff ( very miserable )
The location was ideal. It was very central, only about ten minutes walk to the beach and in a good area. Free onsite parking great as parking in Bournemouth can be hard to find and/or expensive. The room (40) was in need of a make over. It was a bit shabby. The hotel is not really suited for guests with disabilities as there are lots of stairs and the lift is tiny - suitcase sized.
Peacful and comfortable The bedroom window had a hole in it and was cracked. Also the curtains could do with replacing as very old.
They have trid to make it a modern hotel which has half worked. Still a bit more to do. Heated Towel rail was on and couldn't be turned off (Room 2). Asked at reception to sort and got brushed off 3 times. Middle of August so extreamly uncomfortable nights sleep. Small lift had to carry buggy up stairs.
The staff were very friendly and could not do enough for you. Brilliant really. The room we stayed in was dated and in need of upgrading. There was only one lift which was very small (1 person). Again this only went to the 2nd floor which still left steps to take a child up and still required 3 trips with the luggage to the room due to the size of the lift.
The staff were extremly helpful and the rooms were lovely. Had a few problems with the shower but nothing major.
Location to centre of town
Since I first stayed in Sept 09 the hotel has undergone refurbishment and is a very pleasant place to stay. Food is excellent and plentiful.
Comfortable bed, location. No wifi.
When we arrived at 2.30pm the cleaners things were still in our room so mentioned it on way out. When back and had a shower at 6pm found out the towels had not been changed and there was blood and dirt on them. Really not impressed at all.
Closeness to town centre Did not see the staff after breakfast time if required assistance. The mattresses were in an extremely poor state with springs poking through - to the extent that we had to lie on top of the quilts for comfort! Cooked breakfast very dry and unexciting.
Good food & friendly efficient staff
Close to the town centre To noisy
nice clean room, good breakfast, fairly central location, easy to access to public transport, comfortable the room next door was a bit noisy at night, wireless signal stability could be further improved
Very close to beach and nightlife Nice breakfast
The breakfast was good - proper bacon. It really is a short walk to the centre (although up hill to get back). Good communal lounge It's getting a bit old on the inside/ could do with better cleanliness in the rooms.
The location of the hotel is great short walk to shops and beach The hotel is extremely dated and is long over due a makeover.
Good basic accomodation, very clean, the only grumble I have is the showers were rubbish there was hardly any water pressure which made showering difficult. Good value for money which included breakfast which was lovely.
The location was ideal for walking to the sea front and the local shops and restaurants. The breakfast room was pleasant, well laid out and the excellent breakfast was served with both friendliness and politeness. The shower was noisy, severely lacking in power and felt claustrophobic. It had mould around the shower pan. The room needed decorating, and looked very sad. The room lacked character and the colour scheme was bland. The toilet didn't flush very strongly, and the taps on the wash basin were very old and loose. There was a damp mark on the settee in the room, covered up by an old sheet.
Helpful friendly staff springs coming throw the bed
