room design and location nothing
Apartment with a kitchen and excellent adjacent shopping centre. Very friendly staff who accepted my poor French skills gracefully. A recently constructed and opened hotel. A short tram ride from the city centre. An information booklet about the hotel facilities in the room would be very helpful!
We checked in very late at night, just after midnight after a very long and tiring trip and was then upgraded complimentary to a family suite with a proper double bed which was lovely and what we expected in the first place. We were not made aware before we arrived that the rooms do not have a proper bed. A sofa bed that you have to make yourself is just crazy. For the price you pay you do expect a bed at least.
space in the room; quiet; front desk people in the check in (i don´t speak french, but the girls at the reception made everything they could to explain all my doubts) a little cigarrete smell from the last host; need a locker or al least some space to clothes and stuff in the sauna/gym area
location, clean and comfortable, friendly staff no
Facilities are great, with sauna and turkish bath and the room design is good. The bathtub was not clean enough. And the odour of shower gel was not good. 1 of the staff could only speak limited english.
The breakfast and the hotel's staff
Very kind staff, reasonable price but very clean and comfortable room
The room was very comfortable. Everything was ok
Location, friendly, good breakfast, clean.
Helpful staff, decent breakfast at convenient times, central location and proximity to a variety of bars and restaurants. Street noise at night.
Location Could not control the room temp. The comforter was too heavy and I couldn't lower the room temp, therefore either too hot or too cold all night.
In the centre of the town
Could not be closer to the center of all activities-pedestrian shopping streets, riverfront , opera, restaurants and cafes, trams, tourist info center. room accessories. Positives focus on reception staff-very courteous, most helpful with restaurant bookings, taxis etc. if looking for clean, moderately priced hotel for basic functional needs in the core of this beautiful 18th and 19th century city, you can't go wrong. Unfortunately lobby, reception, bar areas very outdated, dark and unappealing. Rooms extremely small for couples.Breakfast buffet very ordinary in a dreary second floor space. Not worth 14 euros unless included in room price.
Quite in the center of the city. No shower curtain, just a half "window". Safe deposite requires to requiest a key and a lock (!) at reception.
Location Breakfast not including in the price
Perfect location for visiting the city and no traffic noise. Nearby a big city parking, small nice caffes just outside for a quick breakfast. A lot of restaurants in the neighbourhood. Comfortable beds. Some warm water problems, so they did not charge us for the breakfast, we apprciated it. The bahroom very tiny and should be renovated. The Only window very high up, could not even look out.
The location to the historic district was perfect. The staff exceptionally helpful. All very good.
Very friendly, helpful staff right in the centre of the shopping district and restaurants. Can't drive to the hotel. Have to park and walk at least 1/2 km to the hotel.
Central location, within walking distance of many sites. No complaints.
The staff at the hotel were most helpful. The rooms were nice, clean and air conditioned. The location is perfect.
all went clockwork - we aked to rent a car: it arrived i ntime at the right price etc . Great hotrel - great value for money !
Attention to details. Service. Aircon. Central location no need to use car as tram service first class also. Staff very helpfull and pleasent.Breakfast and dining very good. All in all an excellent stay! Lighting in room could be brighter bedside reading lights could be a lot more effective if the flexi arm was longer ! Bathroom hot water did not appear to be thermostatically controlled !
The hotel is right in the city centre, very close to shopping area. The staff is very helpful in all our questions. The room is not too big so preferably a medium size luggage suits better. The traffic is very heavy, it took more than 1 hour to reach the hotel from the city outskirt!
The location is ideal and the staff were very friendly
Stayed at the hotel for three nights. The restaurant was superb, other than having a table full of Chinese next to us who had two interpreters running around the table explaining/translating. Still an enjoyable meal non-the-less, and chef Pascal Nibaudeau came and spoke with us which was nice - although only because he had to come and 'shmooze' the Chinese clients who I assume were carrying big bank books! Location is great, right next to the shopping area, opposite the opera house and two mins from the tourist centre and tour buses. Reception and concierge were very helpful. The room was well finished and luxurious, however it consisted of a very narrow hallway with the mini-bar, safe etc being right at the entry, and the bedroom at the other end - the oddest shaped hotel room I've stayed in. Virtually no room to place an open suitcase let alone two, which for the price we payed was not good enough. Unfortunately the hotel's gym and spa were still being constructed, which we were not advised when booking. The staff at the bar were not attentive at all, and on two occassions I had to get up and order drinks - not great when they are standing around chatting instead of servicing the customer. The couple beside us didn't hold back on their criticism! Not good enough for a 5 star hotel.
Excellent restaurants and cafes abd breakfast.
we were able to procure a bright room on the square, beautifully decorated with toile fabric. excellent bathrooms with wood and marble/granite. our initial room was very dark and overly done in dark faux-curtain wallpaper. but a good sized room!
The staff, especially the concierge managers, were helpful, pleasant, and went out of their way to assist, without asking. Very well trained and gracious. We enjoyed being on the main Place of the Grand Theatre; sitting outside on the terrace was delightful. Comp. bottles of gazeuse and plat water each day in the room was a nice touch. We were on the top floor, converted from attic rooms, so the ceiling was low and the windows were much smaller than those of the floors underneath. The lighting in the room did not compensate for this and it was impossible to read either a book or a newspaper. The drapes were luscious, but covered the small windows. Would have liked a coffee/tea tray in the room.
The service is excellent there - they make you feel very welcoming - effortless and unassuming. Nothing
Location Deluxe room: Small & outdated Wall view Breakfast
Delightfull hotel with very nice rooms
This hotel is in an excellent location in Bordeaux only 500 meters from the river Garonne boardwalk, many restaurants, trams and rental cycles. The hotel is only two tram stops from the center of Borbeaux and has all the essentials. If the sun is shining breakfast on the roof is a joy with great views of Bordeaux. Staff were very helpful, polite and courteous. The hallways/corridors in the hotel are on the poor side but then they do not directly affect the stay.
breakfast on the roof terrace desk staff was not friendly or very helpfull
Good efficient staff. Great location. Fantastic views from roof. Handy for trams and city centre.
friendly, helpful staff
Very relaxing & comfortable room, soothing decor.
location Food was not great.
room windows dont open
Very well located to access the city, Tram stop 2 minuites from hotel. All staff encountered were friendly & very helpful.
Trays not being collected from corridor outside rooms promptly. One tray was not collected for approx 18 hours - looked very poor to visitors
I had a nice, quiet, clean room. The hotel location was good. The hotel was under construction, which was unfortunate.
The hotel was in a convenient position for travelling on the motorway and it was comfortable with a swimming pool did not get credited with my loyalty points
Great place for children and to relax between long drives.
Staff were very friendly and helpful I thought the cost of the computer to pick up my few emails was too expensive
Good food Nice environment No
Quiet location on lake just outside the city, but easy access into the city by car. Also good location for access to airport via ring road around Bordeaux.Beds good, firm mattresses Bathroom not great, carpets and lifts getting a bit old.
Furniture and WC bit old fashionned. Need in renovation.
Good location and very helpful, polite and friendly staff
Bathroom was lovely... very far away from the town centre, accesible on the bus which leaves from outside the hotel and takes 30 mins through troubled area...
quiet room and good service
Good parking facilities, helpful reception staff. wi-fi availability, city breakfast was a good idea. The pool was out of order and we had to use another hotel which was a little inconvenient. The pool was one of the main reasons we chose the hotel in the first place! The blonde receptionist was not very friendly or helpful. The other staff were exceptionally helpful and professional however.
The only good thing about this hotel is the 24hr reception who were attentive even at midnight The bathroom light would not stay on. Despite being near an industrial site and motorway the rooms were not sound proofed. There was a constant drone of some machinary and reving traffic outside the room that made sleeping impossible. The bathroom could do with a proper clean down not a wipe down
the hotel provided a good balance of reasonable facilities and right price
Bus stop near by. Rooms were not ready on arrival but other rooms were offered which was good. Rooms were smaller than expected.
Old, poor maintnance... Roooms.
Convenience - it was just a stp over
Bed linen clean, excellent shower and the heater in the bathroom provided instant good heat. Room was tired and small. Reception not that friendly, food in the restuarant expensive and of poor quality.
Staff was very nice and the food was good too.
Too far from city
Compact room, but perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. Very clean. Had tea/coffee making facility. Food in restaurant was excellent, with good selection for buffet starter and buffet desert in evening, and for breakfast. Would have liked a small table on both sides of the bed, not just one. Was able to push the bed sideways and put in a chair. Would stay there again.
It was close to the shops and restaurants and it was a comfortable nice place to stay. Staff were polite and helpful.
The restaurant was closed throughout my stay in the afternons & evenings for what I consider flimsy excuses (weekends, public holidays). This was difficult for a family visit; had to go outside to get lunch & dinner. If you go there, don't do it on a weekend or public holiday!
The hotel needs remodeling. Lots of things are falling apart. The Restuarant needs improving. Service and selection is poor.
very kind service, and convenient location near to train station the wifi connection was slow, and not stable enough. Maybe this hotel is newly built, the smell was stongh, make my firends allergic
Hotel staffs are sincere and helpfull to sort out the trouble which we had, (bad noise in a room), so despite few negatives it was not bat stay after all. It seems hotel has not finished the renovation, we complained the noise in our room and few broken sign etc were quite embarrassing as I was taking my cliant to there.
Service from staff was very good.
Breakfast was not included.
Staff was very friendly and very helpful. Price quality ratio is under par. Hotel is quite expensive and the 5 star rating is somewhat overdone. Beds were good, but blankets is a bit outdated and one would not expect that in a 5 star hotel. It seems that the hotel aims at business travelers, however, there was no WiFi in the hotel, only a business corner.
service and evening meals excellent breakfast far too expensive
Dining Room, and friendly staff,wi fi , need tea coffeein room facility.
this is our 5th stay at the Burdigala and as always the service was excellent. The concierge are particularly helpful and obliging - any room requests were delt with expediantly. Excellent.
The bathroom could you some cleaning, and the price of the hotel is way too high for what you get.
Location and facilities
Staff was good, air conditioning. Fairly hard bed, location made it not worth the price of 153 Euro I paid.
The friendliness and competence of the staff No
The staff was extremely friendly, especially Belen. The shower was week, water was hot but not enough pressure and weight.
Very near from the train station, clean and confortable! Breakfast not included in the price
Cleanliness and good location for travelling on the train
Modern clean rooms with very comfortable beds. Very close to station and only a 5 minute tram to the centre of town. Friendly welcoming staff. No safety deposit box.
the client is pretty good and helpful for tourist. room is small but cozy. hotel is next to the train station, convenient for tourism instead of business price is a little high for this style. but anyhow, it is next to the station and save a lot of trouble by taxi.
Rooms were accessible when we arrived before the check in time. Very helpful staff. The facility to leave luggage after we checked out until our train left was very much appreciated. Bar and restaurant were closed the evening we arrived. Had we known this beforehand, we might have chosen another hotel.
Clean, easy accessby tram, value for money, nearby with supermarket The reception not always only, not easy to look for a staff. Even call the enquiry tel., Not with good English.
Nothing The room smelled of smoke. There were no services. The desk closed early and opened late.
The staff was very helpful. We arrived at night when the desk was closed. The key was left in a safe. The room was booked for 4 persons, but we found one for 3. We managed somehow and the next morning I went to the reception. They apologized and arranged another room with a balcony. They did not bill the first night. They were very kind and helpful, solving the issue. The center of Bordeaux is at walking distance (20 minutes). Right around the corner there is a pizza take out and at 250 meters down the road a little supermarket (also opens sundays). We had a dog with us. No problem. The neighbourhood is not the nicest of Bordeaux. Don't expect a luxury hotel. Internet is cheap but very slow. Don't expect to view movies or videos online.
location, confort (we had a studio) and spacious, price. food order, sandwich, cold plate, drinks.
The location is great and the room was comfortable albeit the noise insulation isn't quite up to scratch Parking is a bit of a trick if you arrive at a busy time
Room rate, cleanliness Aircondition not working, extra bed was a piece of trash, breakfast, staff at reception
Bed: comfortable. Quiet. Clean. Good laundry facilities. Reservation was lost. We were given a replacement appartment which was not quite up to standards, eg no place to hang our clothes, no glasses in kitchen. We could have used better lighting for reading during the evenings. Nothing major.
the appartment was really nice. beds were comfortable and the reception staff was fantastic. the only problem we had was it was a 29 degree day and the airconditioning did not work and there was no wifi working.
The Appart'city Bordeaux Centre has a good localization. It is near to a trainway and near the center of city.
Would have liked a safe either in room or at front desk
Walking distance to the center. The shower was not so cleaned, maybe cause too old.
Cheep & Clean Room too Small & Bathroom far too small
the parking was secure, staff were friendly and helpfull;the hotel was well positioned it rained
Services, friendly people rooms were dirty
near to the train station tiny room
well- located, friendly helpful staff the bathroom was like one in a submarine-tiny!, minuscule room had barely enough room for 2 people to move
i liked the breakfast (buffet). Location was good as it was right next to the tram stop. Small room and bathroom.
Location to the train station is convient if only staying one night. Bit far to walk into the city of Bordeaux from the hotel. Also the whole hotel is boat themed. The rooms are trying to be a cabin on a ship but it is just tacky.
The hotel is well-decorated. The room size is large and comfortable. Good restaurant at the ground floor. Location is bit far from the city center. Given no clear sign/direction from city center/out of city, it is bit difficult to find the hotel.
value for money
Cleanliness Access by public transport
Beautiful place, friendly staff, nice restaurant Too far out of town, not many restaurants etc near the hotel. The room and lobby were constantly really hot, the pool wasn't available, all extras were really expensive - twenty euros per person for breakfast!
Secure courtesy parking. Service-orientated Concierge. Polite, efficient staff. Excellent in-room facilities for coffee/tea making. High-quality restaurant menu and service. Very comfortable, quiet bedroom. Nice view over lake. Nothing to not like.
Very clean and great value for money, actually it meets all of my expectations.
Would pefer hotel in the city centre - too far out especially when left stranded after last bus had left - had to catch tram back to city and catch taxi to hotel
Good bed and food.
Our stay was really very enjoyable - staff were very helpful. Resturant did not cater for children and waiting staff were unable to explain any of the dishes to us.
The excellent standard of accommodation plus the breakfast buffet.
Perfect location for fast stay: close to rail station and next to tram station to bring you into the center very quickly. Staff very friendly. We could even leave our bags in the storage till midnight.
Nice and helpfull staff Location - not a nice nabohood and far from city center.
Very helpful staff. The vibrant colour scheme.
Staff and breakfast The room smelt of cigarettes
Friendly and helpful staff
The location near the Gare St Jean The noise from the street in the early hours of the morning
Helpful staff. Nice breakfast! Steps away from St. Jean's tram station. Rooms are toooooooooo small! Specially since we were travelling with a 19 months old baby. Putting a crib in the room practically left no space for anything else!
Very close to transport system to central Bordeaux
Staff were very helpful. Room was comfortable. We were even able to borrow a screwdriver to mend my suitcase handle. Being close to the station, it was a bit noisy at night, but we had chosen it on purpose because it was convenient, so we were not bothered by the trains. The breakfast was a bit more expensive than we expected, but it was excellent, with a good choice of food .
Lovely clean, fresh hotel very conveniently located to Gare du Bordeaux. Staff were very helpful and spoke fluent English. Parking is a little tricky.
